ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
gurmukhaa man parteet hai gur poorai naam samaanee. ||1||
The Guru’s followers are firm in their belief that, through the perfect Guru, their minds will remain attuned to God’s Name. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸਰਧਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
man mayray mai har har kathaa man bhaanee.
O’ my mind, God’s discourse is pleasing to me.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਤ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har kathaa nit sadaa kar gurmukh akath kahaanee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind, sing God’s praises continually and forever; it is from the Guru’s followers that one learns about the indescribable gospel of God. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ। ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਢੰਢੋਲਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
mai man tan khoj dhandholi-aa ki-o paa-ee-ai akath kahaanee.
I have searched within my mind and heart, and reflected on how I could learn about the discourse on the indescribable God’s praises.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਣਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
sant janaa mil paa-i-aa sun akath kathaa man bhaanee.
One can realize God by meeting the humble saints; listening to the discourse of God’s praises is pleasing to the mind.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ; (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
mayrai man tan naam aDhaar har mai maylay purakh sujaanee. ||2||
Naam has become the support of my mind and heart; I am confident that only Guru can unite me with the omniscient God. ||2||
ਸੰਤ-ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਜਾਣ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
gur purkhai purakh milaa-ay parabh mil surtee surat samaanee.
When the Guru unites a person with the supreme Being, then that person’s mind merges into the supreme God.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਸੁਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਗਈ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥
vadbhaagee gur sayvi-aa har paa-i-aa sugharh sujaanee.
The fortunate ones who served and followed the Guru’s teachings, have realized Omniscient God.
ਜਿਨਾਂ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ।
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
manmukh bhaag vihooni-aa tin dukhee rain vihaanee. ||3||
The self-willed are so unfortunate that their life passes in misery and pain like the night of a deserted woman. ||3||
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਦ-ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਛੁੱਟੜ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਮ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਿਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
ham jaachik deen parabh tayri-aa mukh deejai amrit banee.
O’ God, we are just humble beggars at Your door; please bless us with the gift of reciting the ambrosial divine word of the Guru.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ (ਜੀਵ) ਤੇਰੇ (ਦਰ ਦੇ) ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਡੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇਹ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥
satgur mayraa mitar parabh har maylhu sugharh sujaanee.
The true Guru is my friend: O’ my true Guru, please unite me with my perfect and omniscient God.
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਮੈਂਡੇ ਯਾਰ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੈਂਡੇ ਕਾਮਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੱਬਗ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿਓ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੩॥੫॥
jan naanak sarnaagatee kar kirpaa naam samaanee. ||4||3||5||
O’ Nanak, say, O’ God, I have sought Your refuge, grant Your grace that I may remain merged into Your Name. ||4||3||5||

Raag Maaroo, Fourth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਭਾਉ ਲਗਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
har bhaa-o lagaa bairaagee-aa vadbhaagee har man raakh.
O’ the detached mind, with great fortune, you have been imbued with the love for God; now keep God’s Name enshrined in your heart.
ਹੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜੀਊੜੇ! ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭ ਰੱਖ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਊਪਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
mil sangat sarDhaa oopjai gur sabdee har ras chaakh.
By joining the company of saintly persons, faith in God wells up; through the Guru’s divine word, keep tasting the sublime essence of God’s Name.
ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੀ) ਸਰਧਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਰਹੁ।
ਸਭੁ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਭਾਖੁ ॥੧॥
sabh man tan hari-aa ho-i-aa gurbaanee har gun bhaakh. ||1||
Mind and body remain blossomed by reciting the glorious praises of God through the divine word of the Guru. ||1||
(ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਤੂੰ ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
man pi-aari-aa mitraa har har naam ras chaakh.
O’ my mind, the beloved friend, taste the sublime essence of God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur poorai har paa-i-aa halat palat pat raakh. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God is realized through the perfect Guru; seek the Guru’s refuge and save your honor both here and hereafter.||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਉ, ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਚਾਖੁ ॥
har har naam Dhi-aa-ee-ai har keerat gurmukh chaakh.
We should always contemplate on God’s Name; follow the Guru’s teachings and taste the relish of God’s praises.
ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਤੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ) ਚੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਤਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਜੀਐ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
tan Dhartee har beejee-ai vich sangat har parabh raakh.
This body is like a farm, we should sow the seed of God’s Name in it; by remaining in the holy congregation,God Himself protects this crop of Naam.
ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਬੀਜ) ਬੀਜਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ (ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਖੇਤੀ ਦਾ) ਰਾਖਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ॥੨॥
amrit har har naam hai gur poorai har ras chaakh. ||2||
God’s Name is the ambrosial nectar; by following the divine word of the Guru, taste this sublime essence of God’s Name. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਤੂੰ ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਰਹੁ ॥੨॥
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਮਨਿ ਆਸਾ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਬਹੁ ਲਾਖੁ ॥
manmukh tarisnaa bhar rahay man aasaa dah dis baho laakh.
The self-willed persons are filled with love for worldly desires; their minds keep on wandering in all directions to fulfill their millions of hopes and desires.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ (ਦੀ ਮੈਲ) ਨਾਲ ਲਿੱਬੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਹੀ) ਆਸਾ (ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ), ਉਹ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਭਟਕਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
bin naavai Dharig jeevday vich bistaa manmukh raakh.
Without meditating on God’s Name, their life is cursed; the self-willed persons live in the filth of vices.
ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ। ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਗੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਓਇ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ਭਾਖੁ ॥੩॥
o-ay aavahi jaahi bhavaa-ee-ah baho jonee durganDh bhaakh. ||3||
They keep coming and going and are made to rotate in many reincarnations; remaining engaged in the filth of vices is their routine life
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਵਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਗੰਦ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ) ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
taraahi taraahi sarnaagatee har da-i-aa Dhaar parabh raakh.
O’ God, repeatedly crying for help, we have come to Your refuge, please show mercy and save us.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, (ਸਾਡੀ) ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਪੁ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਾਖੁ ॥
santsangat maylaap kar har naam milai pat saakh.
Unite us with the company of the saints, where we may receive God’s Name and honor.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਡਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖ, (ਉਥੇ ਹੀ) ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਖੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੬॥
har har naam Dhan paa-i-aa jan naanak gurmat bhaakh. ||4||4||6||
O’ Nanak, The wealth of God’s Name is received in the company of saints; you too recite God’s Name by following the Guru’s teachings. ||4||4||6||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੬॥

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
har har bhagat bharay bhandaaraa.
O’ my friends, the Guru has the treasures of God’s devotional worship.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ,(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਭਰੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ,
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥
gurmukh raam karay nistaaraa.
It is through the Guru that God liberates the Guru’s followers.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਹੀ) ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
jis no kirpaa karay mayraa su-aamee so har kay gun gaavai jee-o. ||1||
The person on whom my Master-God bestows mercy, sings praises of God. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਬਨਵਾਲੀ ॥
har har kirpaa karay banvaalee.
The person on whom God bestows mercy,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਹਰੀ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੀ ॥
har hirdai sadaa sadaa samaalee.
he keeps God’s Name enshrined in his heart forever.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਛਡਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har naam japahu mayray jee-arhay jap har har naam chhadaavai jee-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mindl, always lovingly remembers God’s Name, because remembrance of God’s Name frees one from the vices. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
