ਬੂਝਤ ਦੀਪਕ ਮਿਲਤ ਤਿਲਤ ॥
boojhat deepak milat tilat.
(God’s Name to a devotee) is like oil to the lamp whose flame is dying out.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬੁੱਝ ਰਹੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ,
ਜਲਤ ਅਗਨੀ ਮਿਲਤ ਨੀਰ ॥
jalat agnee milat neer.
is like water to a person burning in the fire,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜ ਰਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਮੁਖਹਿ ਖੀਰ ॥੧॥
jaisay baarik mukheh kheer. ||1||
is like milk poured into the baby’s mouth who is crying with hunger. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਭੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਲਕ ਰਹੇ) ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਦੁੱਧ ਪੈ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਰਣ ਮਹਿ ਸਖਾ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ॥
jaisay ran meh sakhaa bharaat.
(God’s Name provides help), just like a brother’s helps in a battle-field,
(ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਉਂ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਭਰਾ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਭੂਖੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਮਾਤ ॥
jaisay bhookhay bhojan maat.
is like food to a hungry person.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੁੱਖੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਕਿਰਖਹਿ ਬਰਸ ਮੇਘ ॥
jaisay kirkhahi baras maygh.
is like cloudburst to crops,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਖੇਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਦਲ ਦਾ ਵਰ੍ਹਨਾ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਪਾਲਨ ਸਰਨਿ ਸੇਂਘ ॥੨॥
jaisay paalan saran sayNgh. ||2||
is refuge of brave person like a lion to a helpless person. ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਕਿਸੇ ਅਨਾਥ ਨੂੰ) ਸ਼ੇਰ (ਬਹਾਦਰ) ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗਰੁੜ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਹੀ ਸਰਪ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥
garurh mukh nahee sarap taraas.
God’s Name is like Garuda mantra which removes the fear of snake in a person
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਉਂ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਗਾਰੁੜ ਮੰਤਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਪ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ,
ਸੂਆ ਪਿੰਜਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਖਾਇ ਬਿਲਾਸੁ ॥
soo-aa pinjar nahee khaa-ay bilaas.
is like a cage that protects the parrot from being eaten by the cat;
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਿੰਜਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਤੋਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਿੱਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਜੈਸੋ ਆਂਡੋ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
jaiso aaNdo hirday maahi.
is like aprtection for the eggs in the mind of a flamingo,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੂੰਜ ਦੇ ਚੇਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਂਡੇ (ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ),
ਜੈਸੋ ਦਾਨੋ ਚਕੀ ਦਰਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
jaiso daano chakee daraahi. ||3||
is like the central post of the grinding mill for the protection of grain from grinding. ||3||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦਾਣੇ ਚੱਕੀ ਦੀ ਕਿੱਲੀ ਨਾਲ (ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੀਸਣੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੩॥
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਓਪਮਾ ਥੋਰ ਕਹੀ ॥
bahut opmaa thor kahee.
O’ God! Your glory is so great; I have described only a tiny bit of it.
ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਹੀ ਦੱਸੇ ਹਨ l
ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਤੁਹੀ ॥
har agam agam agaaDh tuhee.
O’ God! You are inaccessible, unapproachable and unfathomable.
ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ। ਤੂੰ ਅਥਾਹ ,ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਊਚ ਮੂਚੌ ਬਹੁ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
ooch moochou baho apaar.
O’ God! You are the highest of the high and infinite.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਰੇ ਸਾਰ ॥੪॥੩॥
simrat naanak taray saar. ||4||3||
O’ Nanak! people with loads of sins swim across the world-ocean of vices by remembering You with loving devotion. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਹੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵ ਭੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੩॥

ਇਹੀ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਸਫਲ ਕਾਜ ॥ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਲੇਹੁ ਨਿਵਾਜਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ihee hamaarai safal kaaj. apunay daas ka-o layho nivaaj. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ God! bestow mercy on Your devotee, this alone is the fruitful deed for me.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ (ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼) ਇਹ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੧ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਚਰਨ ਸੰਤਹ ਮਾਥ ਮੋਰ ॥
charan santeh maath mor.
I wish that I may always humbly bow to (Your) saints.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ (ਪਿਆ ਰਹੇ),
ਨੈਨਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਉ ਨਿਸਿ ਭੋਰ ॥
nain daras paykha-o nis bhor.
With my eyes I may behold them day and night.
ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਹਸਤ ਹਮਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ॥
hasat hamray sant tahal.
My hands may always be busy in the service of the saints.
ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ,
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਤ ਬਹਲ ॥੧॥
paraan man Dhan sant bahal. ||1||
My breaths, mind, and wealth may be dedicated to the saints. ||1||
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਰਪਨ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
satsang mayray man kee pareet.
My mind may always remain in love with the company of Saints.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ,
ਸੰਤ ਗੁਨ ਬਸਹਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
sant gun baseh mayrai cheet.
The virtues of the saints may remain enshrined in my mind.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸੇ ਰਹਿਣ,
ਸੰਤ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਨਹਿ ਮੀਠ ॥
sant aagi-aa maneh meeth.
The command of the saints may always seem pleasing to my mind.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗੇ,
ਮੇਰਾ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਸੰਤ ਡੀਠ ॥੨॥
mayraa kamal bigsai sant deeth. ||2||
On seeing the saints my mind may bloom like a lotus. ||2||
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕੰਵਲ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
satsang mayraa ho-ay nivaas.
(O’ God, bless me so that) I may dwell in the company of saints,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਹਿਣ-ਖਲੋਣ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ,
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
santan kee mohi bahut pi-aas.
and may always have a great longing for the saints.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੇ,
ਸੰਤ ਬਚਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਮੰਤ ॥
sant bachan mayray maneh mant.
The words of the saints may remain enshrined in my mind like mantras,
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ,
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਹੰਤ ॥੩॥
sant parsaad mayray bikhai hant. ||3||
so that by the grace of saints all my evil instincts may vanish. ||3||
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ॥੩॥
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਏਹਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
mukat jugat ayhaa niDhaan.
This alone for me is the way to freedom from vices, and this alone is all the treasures for me.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾਣ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਨ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨ ॥
parabh da-i-aal mohi dayvhu daan.
O’ merciful God! please bless me with the gift of the company of saints.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ) ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
naanak ka-o parabh da-i-aa Dhaar.
O’ God, bestow Mercy upon Nanak,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ,
ਚਰਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਝਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੪॥
charan santan kay mayray riday majhaar. ||4||4||
so that the immaculate words of saints may always remain enshrined in my heart. ||4||4||
ਤਾਂਕਿ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸੇ ਰਹਿਣ, ॥੪॥੪॥
ਮਾਲੀ ਗਉੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Raag Maalee Gauraa, Fifth Guru:
ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
sabh kai sangee naahee door.
God is with all; He is not far away (from anybody).
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਹਾਜਰਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karan karaavan haajraa hajoor. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God can do and get everything done and is present everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੁਨਤ ਜੀਓ ਜਾਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
sunat jee-o jaas naam.
Listening God’s Name, one spiritually becomes alive,
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਕੀਓ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥
dukh binsay sukh kee-o bisraam.
all his sufferings vanish and celestial peace comes to dwell within.
ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁਖ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਆ ਬਣਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥
sagal niDh har har haray.
God has all the treasures of the world.
(ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਹਨ।
ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੇ ॥੧॥
mun jan taa kee sayv karay. ||1||
All sages and saints perform His devotional worship. ||1||
ਸਭ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
jaa kai ghar saglay samaahi.
O’ brother! one who has all the treasures in His house,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ (ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ) ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jis tay birthaa ko-ay naahi.
no one is turned away empty-handed from whose door,
ਜਿਸ (ਦੇ ਦਰ) ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ,
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
jee-a jantar karay partipaal.
who cherishes all beings and creatures,
ਜੋ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਜੰਤੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੨॥
sadaa sadaa sayvhu kirpaal. ||2||
engage in the devotional worship of that merciful God forever and ever. ||2||
ਉਸ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੨॥
ਸਦਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ ॥
sadaa Dharam jaa kai deebaan.
Righteous justice is always dispensed in whose court,
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਬੇਮੁਹਤਾਜ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾਣਿ ॥
baymuhtaaj nahee kichh kaan.
who is independent and is not obliged to anyone,
ਜੋ ਬੇ-ਮੁਥਾਜ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਨਾ ਆਪਨ ਆਪਿ ॥
sabh kichh karnaa aapan aap.
who does everything on His own,
ਜੋ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੩॥
ray man mayray too taa ka-o jaap. ||3||
O’ my mind, always lovingly remember that God ||3||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੩॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥
saaDhsangat ka-o ha-o balihaar.
I am dedicated to the Company of the Guru,
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਾਸੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
jaas mil hovai uDhaar.
joining which, one swims across the world-ocean of vices.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਬੰਦਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਨ ਤਨਹਿ ਰਾਤ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੪॥੫॥
naam sang man taneh raat. naanak ka-o parabh karee daat. ||4||5||
O’ Nanak! one whom God blessed with the gift of Naam, his mind and body always remains imbued with it. ||4||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ,ਉਸਦਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
har samrath kee sarnaa.
I have come to the refuge of the all-powerful God.
ਮੈਂ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jee-o pind Dhan raas mayree parabh ayk kaaran karnaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My soul, body, wealth and possessions belong to God who is the creator of the entire universe. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ, ਮੇਰਾ ਧਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ-ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੀਵਣੈ ਕਾ ਮੂਲੁ ॥
simar simar sadaa sukh paa-ee-ai jeevnai kaa mool.
One attains celestial peace forever by lovingly remembering God, the primal source of life.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਤੇ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤ ਠਾਈ ਸੂਖਮੋ ਅਸਥੂਲ ॥੧॥
rav rahi-aa sarbatar thaa-ee sookhmo asthool. ||1||
God is pervading all places and in the visible and in the invisible things . ||1||
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਅਣਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
