ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਲ ॥
sahee salaamat mil ghar aa-ay nindak kay mukh ho-ay kaal.
By following the Guru’s teachings, the devotees of God along with their intact spiritual wealth remain imbued with Naam within their heart; their slanderers are put to shame.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੁਰੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਸ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ; ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੧੧੩॥
kaho naanak mayraa satgur pooraa gur parsaad parabh bha-ay nihaal. ||2||27||113||
Nanak says, perfect is my true Guru; by the Guru’s grace, God remains delighted with His devotees. ||2||27||113||

ਮੂ ਲਾਲਨ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
moo laalan si-o pareet banee. rahaa-o.
I have fallen in love with my Beloved God. ||Pause||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ (ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੋਰੀ ਨ ਤੂਟੈ ਛੋਰੀ ਨ ਛੂਟੈ ਐਸੀ ਮਾਧੋ ਖਿੰਚ ਤਨੀ ॥੧॥
toree na tootai chhoree na chhootai aisee maaDho khinch tanee. ||1||
God has strung such a strong bond of love, that it neither can be cut nor can be released . ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਡੋਰ ਐਸੀ ਕੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਡੋਰ ਨਾਹ ਹੁਣ ਤੋੜਿਆਂ ਟੁੱਟਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਛੱਡਿਆਂ ਛੱਡੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਬਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਤੂ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ॥੨॥
dinas rain man maahi basat hai too kar kirpaa parabh apnee. ||2||
Day and night that love resides in my mind; O’ God! please keep me blessed with Your mercy. ||2||
ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੁਣ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖ ॥੨॥
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਸਿਆਮ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਉ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੀ ॥੩॥
bal bal jaa-o si-aam sundar ka-o akath kathaa jaa kee baat sunee. ||3||
I am always dedicated to the beauteous God, about whom I have heard that the divine words of His praises are indescribable. ||3||
ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਬਤ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੀ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੧੧੪॥
jan naanak daasan daas kahee-at hai mohi karahu kirpaa thaakur apunee. ||4||28||114||
O’ God! this devotee Nanak is known as the servant of your servants; please bless me with Your Mercy. ||4||28||114||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਜਪਿ ਜਾਂਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥
har kay charan jap jaaN-o kurbaan.
I meditate on God’s immaculate Name and I am dedicated to it.
ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਰਿ ਮਨ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur mayraa paarbarahm parmaysur taa kaa hirdai Dhar man Dhi-aan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind, my Guru is the embodiment of the supreme God; contemplate on him in your heart. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥
simar simar simar sukh-daata jaa kaa kee-aa sagal jahaan.
O’ brother, God who has created this entire universe and is the benefactor of celestial peace, always remember Him with adoration.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ।
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਵਹੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
rasnaa ravhu ayk naaraa-in saachee dargeh paavhu maan. ||1||
With your tongue, meditate on One God, and you would be honored in His eternal presence. ||1||
ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
saaDhoo sang paraapat jaa ka-o tin hee paa-i-aa ayhu niDhaan.
He alone has received this wealth of Naam, who has attained the company of the Guru.
ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਗਾਵਉ ਗੁਣ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਜੈ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੨॥੨੯॥੧੧੫॥
gaava-o gun keertan nit su-aamee kar kirpaa naanak deejai daan. ||2||29||115||
O’ my Master-God! mercifully bless Nanak with this gift that he may always sing Your praises and contemplate on Your virtues. ||2||29||115||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਖ਼ੈਰ ਪਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੨੯॥੧੧੫॥

ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣ ॥

God has saved me from the world ocean of vices by putting me in the true Guru’s refuge.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਜਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਤਾਰਣ ਤਰਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jai jai kaar ho-aa jag antar paarbarahm mayro taaran taran. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My God is like a ship to ferry us across this worldly ocean of vices, His glory is resounding in the entire world. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮਾਨੋ) ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ ਉਸਦੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਿਸ੍ਵੰਭਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਪੋਖਣ ਭਰਣ ॥
bisamvbhar pooran sukh-daata sagal samagree pokhan bharan.
All pervading God is the sustainer of the universe, benefactor of celestial peace and provider of all needs of the universe.
ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਹਨ।
ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ॥੧॥
thaan thanantar sarab nirantar bal bal jaaN-ee har kay charan. ||1||
God is pervading in all places and inter spaces. I am dedicated to Him. ||1||
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਰਸ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਸਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ॥
jee-a jugat vas mayray su-aamee sarab siDh tum kaaran karan.
O’ my Master-God! the ways of all beings are in Your Power, all supernatural spiritual powers are Yours; You are the Creator, the Cause of causes.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਹੀ ਡਰਣ ॥੨॥੩੦॥੧੧੬॥
aad jugaad parabh rakh-daa aa-i-aa har simrat naanak nahee daran. ||2||30||116||
O’ Nanak, God has been the savior of His devotees from the very beginning and through the ages; no fear is left in the mind by remembering God. ||2||30||116||
ਨਾਨਕ! ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੨॥੩੦॥੧੧੬॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
mai naahee parabh sabh kichh tayraa.
O’ God! I am nothing, everything you have given me belongs to You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ) ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਈਘੈ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਊਘੈ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਕੇਲ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਚਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
eeghai nirgun ooghai sargun kayl karat bich su-aamee mayraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
On one side, O’ God! You are without any attribute (intangible) and on the other side You are with all these attributes (tangible); my Master is playing His plays in between these two aspects. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਹੈ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਹਾਲਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਰਚਾਈ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਫੁਨਿ ਆਪਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋ ਸਗਲ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
nagar meh aap baahar fun aapan parabh mayray ko sagal basayraa.
God Himself resides inside and outside all; in fact, everywhere is the dwelling of my God.
ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ- ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਬਾਹਰ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਭੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰਾਇਆ ਕਹ ਕਹ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਹ ਕਹ ਚੇਰਾ ॥੧॥
aapay hee raajan aapay hee raa-i-aa kah kah thaakur kah kah chayraa. ||1||
God Himself is the king and Himself the subject; in some situations He is the Master and in another He is the servant. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਈਅਤ ਹੈ। ਕਿਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਕਿਤੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਾ ਕਉ ਦੁਰਾਉ ਕਾ ਸਿਉ ਬਲਬੰਚਾ ਜਹ ਜਹ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਨੇਰਾ ॥
kaa ka-o duraa-o kaa si-o balbanchaa jah jah paykha-o tah tah nayraa.
Wherever I see, I see Him pervading in all, so from whom may I hide (any lie) and with whom may I practice any deceit?
ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ) ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਕਿਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਝੂਠ-ਲੁਕਾਉ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏ, ਤੇ, ਕਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਠੱਗੀ-ਫ਼ਰੇਬ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏ?
ਸਾਧ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਬੂੰਦ ਨਹੀ ਅਨ ਹੇਰਾ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੧੭॥
saaDh moorat gur bhayti-o naanak mil saagar boond nahee an hayraa. ||2||1||117||
O’ Nanak, one who meets and follows the Guru’s teachings, realizes that a drop of water mixed with ocean can’t be seen as separate; similarly a person united with God becomes like Him. ||2||1||117||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬੂੰਦ (ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਵੱਖਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦੀ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੧੭॥
