ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਈਐ ਚੀਤਾ ॥੧॥
charan kamal si-o laa-ee-ai cheetaa. ||1||
by lovingly foscusing our consciousness on God’s Name. ||1||
ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੧॥
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਵਤ ॥
ha-o balihaaree jo parabhoo Dhi-aavat.
I am dedicated to those who meditate on God.
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jalan bujhai har har gun gaavat. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The fire of worldly desires is quenched by singing God’s praises. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਅੱਗ ਦੀ) ਸੜਨ ਬੁੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੋਵਤ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
safal janam hovat vadbhaagee.
Fruitful becomes the life of those very fortunate ones,
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੨॥
saaDhsang raameh liv laagee. ||2||
whose mind is attuned to the love of God in the company of saints.||2||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦਾ ॥
mat pat Dhan sukh sahj anandaa.
Intellect, honor, wealth, comforts and bliss are attained,
ਸਿਆਣਪ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ-ਆਬਰੂ, ਦੌਲਤ, ਆਰਾਮ, ਅਤੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਹੁ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥੩॥
ik nimakh na visrahu parmaanandaa. ||3||
if one does not forsake God, the master of supreme bliss, even for a blink of an eye. |3||
ਜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁਲਾਵੋ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਸ ਘਨੇਰੀ ॥
har darsan kee man pi-aas ghanayree.
O’ God, in my mind I have an intense craving for Your blessed vision,
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ ,
ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੩॥
bhanat naanak saran parabh tayree. ||4||8||13||
O’ God, I have come to Your refuge, prays Nanak. ||4||8||13||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੮॥੧੩॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਹ ਬਿਹੂਨਾ ॥
mohi nirgun sabh gunah bihoonaa.
O’ my friend, I was unvirtuous, totally lacking all virtues,
ਮੈ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਖਣਾ ਸਾਂ l
ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
da-i-aa Dhaar apunaa kar leenaa. ||1||
but bestowing mercy, God has made me His own.||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ (ਦਾਸ) ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਪਾਲਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥
mayraa man tan har gopaal suhaa-i-aa.
God, the Master of the universe, has made my body and mind look beauteous.
ਗੋਪਾਲ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh ghar meh aa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Bestowing mercy, God has manifested in my heart. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਭੈ ਕਾਟਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
bhagat vachhal bhai kaatanhaaray.
O’ God, the lover of devotional worship and the dispeller of all fears,
ਹੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਅਬ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
sansaar saagar ab utray paaray. ||2||
because of Your mercy, I have now been ferried across the world-ocean of vices. ||2||
ਹੁਣ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਬੇਦਿ ਲੇਖਿਆ ॥
patit paavan parabh birad bayd laykhi-aa.
It is written in the Vedas that it is God’s tradition to purify the sinners.
ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਬਤ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਪੇਖਿਆ ॥੩॥
paarbarahm so nainhu paykhi-aa. ||3||
I have seen that Supreme God with my spiritually enlightened eyes. ||3||
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਭਿ ਦੂਖ ਪਲਾਇਣ ॥੪॥੯॥੧੪॥
saaDhsang pargatay naaraa-in. naanak daas sabh dookh palaa-in. ||4||9||14||
O’ Nanak, it is in the company of the saints, that God becomes manifest and all the sorrows of His devotees are dispelled. ||4||9||14||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੯॥੧੪॥

O’ God, who knows the right way to perform Your devotional worship?
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਕੌਣ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ॥੧॥
parabh avinaasee alakh abhayvaa. ||1||
O’ God, You are imperishable, invisible and incomprehensible. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂ੍ੰ ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ,ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਅਭੇਵ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੇ ॥
gun bay-ant parabh gahir gambheeray.
O’ the unfathomable and profound God, Your virtues are infinite.
ਹੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਊਚ ਮਹਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
ooch mahal su-aamee parabh mayray.
O’ my Master-God, spiritual realms are very high.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੰਡਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਉੱਚੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੂ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

O’ my Master-God, You are infinite.||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਤੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
aykas bin naahee ko doojaa.
O’ God, except for You, there is no other one like You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਪੂਜਾ ॥੨॥
tumH hee jaanhu apnee poojaa. ||2||
You alone know the right way of Your devotional worship. ||2||
ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ (ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਢੰਗ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਆਪਹੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਤ ਭਾਈ ॥
aaphu kachhoo na hovat bhaa-ee.
O’ my brothers, nothing can be done by our own efforts.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥
jis parabh dayvai so naam paa-ee. ||3||
He alone receives Naam, unto whom God bestows it. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
kaho naanak jo jan parabh bhaa-i-aa.
Nanak says, the devotee who becomes pleasing to God,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੫॥
gun niDhaan parabh tin hee paa-i-aa. ||4||10||15||
he alone realizes God, the treasure of virtues. ||4||10||15||
ਉਸੇ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੧੫॥

Raag Bilaaval, Fifth Guru:
ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥
maat garabh meh haath day raakhi-aa.
God who saved you in the womb of your mother by extending His support,
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਸੀ,
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ॥੧॥
har ras chhod bikhi-aa fal chaakhi-aa. ||1||
renouncing the bliss of that God’s Name, you are tasting the fruit of Maya, the worldly riches and power. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਚੱਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਭਜੁ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਸਭ ਛੋਡਿ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
bhaj gobind sabh chhod janjaal.
Renounce all worldly entanglements and meditate on God of the universe,
ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਣਾਵਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਜਬ ਜਮੁ ਆਇ ਸੰਘਾਰੈ ਮੂੜੇ ਤਬ ਤਨੁ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਬੇਹਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab jam aa-ay sanghaarai moorhay tab tan binas jaa-ay bayhaal. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ the foolish person, when the demon of death fatally attacks you, then your body perishes enduring pain. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ! ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਾਰੂ ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਪਿਆ ॥
tan man Dhan apnaa kar thaapi-aa.
You have assumed this body, mind, and wealth as your own,
ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ, ਇਸ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੰਨੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਕਰਨਹਾਰੁ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਜਾਪਿਆ ॥੨॥
karanhaar ik nimakh na jaapi-aa. ||2||
but you do not meditate on the Creator-God, even for an instant. ||2||
ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਪਰਿਆ ॥
mahaa moh anDh koop pari-aa.
You have fallen in the blind deep well of intense worldly attachment,
ਤੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੜੇ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਪਟਲਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
paarbarahm maa-i-aa patal bisri-aa. ||3||
and hiding behind the curtain of Maya, you have forsaken the all-pervading God. ||3||
ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੇ ਪਰਦੇ ਦੇ ਓਹਲੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
vadai bhaag parabh keertan gaa-i-aa.
By great good fortune, one who has sung the praises of God,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਨ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੧੬॥
satsang naanak parabh paa-i-aa. ||4||11||16||
O’ Nanak, in the company of saints, that person has realized God. ||4||11||16||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੧੬॥

maat pitaa sut banDhap bhaa-ee. naanak ho-aa paarbarahm sahaa-ee. ||1||
O’ Nanak, the Supreme God is our help and support like our mother, father, children, relatives and siblings. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਂ, ਪਿਉ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ, ਭਰਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਾਡਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਣੇ ॥
sookh sahj aanand ghanay.
We receive abundant celestial peace, poise and bliss,
(ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਗੁਣਾ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਨ ਗਣੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pooraa pooree jaa kee banee anik gunaa jaa kay jaahi na ganay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
by seeking the refuge of that perfect Guru whose divine words are perfect, and who has myriad of virtues which cannot be counted. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ (ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ) ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਗਿਣਨ-ਗੋਚਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਗਲ ਸਰੰਜਾਮ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ॥
sagal saraNjaam karay parabh aapay.
God Himself makes arrangments to accomplish the tasks (of a person who seeks His refuge),
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਭਏ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪੇ ॥੨॥
bha-ay manorath so parabh jaapay. ||2||
and by meditating on that God’s Name, all of his objectives are accomplished. ||2||
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਅਰਥ ਧਰਮ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
arath Dharam kaam mokh kaa daataa.
God is the benefactor of economic well-being, righteousness, worldly desires and salvation.
ਧਰਮ, ਅਰਥ, ਕਾਮ,ਅਤੇ ਮੋਖ ਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
