ਪੁਰਬੇ ਕਮਾਏ ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗ ਪਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥
purbay kamaa-ay sareerang paa-ay har milay chiree vichhunni-aa.
Because of the previous good deeds, they (humans) are united with God, from Whom they had been separated.
ਪਹਿਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਨੇਕ ਕਮਾਈ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਿਰ ਦਾ ਵਿੱਛੁੜਿਆ ਲੱਛਮੀ-ਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਫਿਰ) ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸਰਬਤਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਬਿਸੁਆਸੋ ॥
antar baahar sarbat ravi-aa man upji-aa bisu-aaso.
Then they believe with full conviction that God pervades everywhere, both within and without.
ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਖ ਦੇਇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ ॥੪॥
naanak sikh day-ay man pareetam kar santaa sang nivaaso. ||4||
O beloved mind, Nanak gives this advice: let the holy congregation be your dwelling.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮਨ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਕਰ
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa har paraym bhagat man leenaa.
O’ my dear mind, my friend, the person whose mind remains imbued with God’s love and devotion,
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਲ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੀਵੇ ਮੀਨਾ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa har jal mil jeevay meenaa.
O dear beloved mind, my friend, attains a spiritual bliss upon meeting God, (just as the fish regains life upon getting back into water
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਇਉਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਮੱਛੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜੀਊਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਪੀ ਆਘਾਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੇ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਮਨ ਵੁਠੇ ॥
har pee aaghaanay amrit baanay sarab sukhaa man vuthay.
All comforts come to the one, who is satiated by relishing the elixir of God’s ambrosial words.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ (-ਰੂਪ) ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਪਾਏ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੇ ॥
sareeDhar paa-ay mangal gaa-ay ichh punnee satgur tuthay.
On realizing God, he sings songs of joy, and by the True Guru’s Grace, all his desires are fulfilled.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਲੜਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਲਾਏ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਉ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਦੀਨਾ ॥
larh leenay laa-ay na-o niDh paa-ay naa-o sarbas thaakur deenaa.
God has united him with Himself, and by His blessings he feels as if he has obtained all the nine treasures.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਨੌਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਮਾਨੋ, ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਧਨ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿਖ ਸੰਤ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੫॥੧॥੨॥
naanak sikh sant samjhaa-ee har paraym bhagat man leenaa. ||5||1||2||
O’ Nanak, one who is taught by the Guru, his mind remains attuned to the loving devotion of God.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸਮਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ

hath majhaahoo maa piree pasay ki-o deedaar.
My Beloved Master (God ) is deep within my heart. How can I have His Vision ?
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋਵੇ?
ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਲਭਣੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੧॥
sant sarnaa-ee labh-nay naanak paraan aDhaar. ||1||
O’ Nanak, He who is the support of our life (God), is found by seeking the refuge of Saints.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰੀਤਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਮਨਿ ਆਵਏ ਜੀਉ ॥
charan kamal si-o pareet reet santan man aav-ay jee-o.
The tradition of love and devotion for God comes to reside only in the minds of saints.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਹੀ) ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਤੀਆ ਭਾਉ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ਅਨੀਤਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਨਹ ਭਾਵਏ ਜੀਉ ॥
dutee-aa bhaa-o bipreet aneet daasaa nah bhaav-ay jee-o.
To love anybody else other than God is against the belief of the devotees, and it does not appeal to them.
ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਤੀ ਦੇ ਉਲਟ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
ਦਾਸਾ ਨਹ ਭਾਵਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਰਸਾਵਏ ਇਕ ਖਿਨੁ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਕਿਉ ਕਰੈ ॥
daasaa nah bhaav-ay bin darsaav-ay ik khin Dheeraj ki-o karai.
It is not pleasing to His devotees; without the Blessed Vision of God, how can they find peace, even for a moment?
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਸ਼ਾਤੀ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ?
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੀਨਾ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਜਿਉ ਮਰੈ ॥
naam bihoonaa tan man heenaa jal bin machhulee ji-o marai.
Their body and mind feel miserable without Naam, Just as a fish dies without water.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ- ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਲਿੱਸਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਆ ਗਈ ਜਾਪਦੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਛੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਵਏ ॥
mil mayray pi-aaray paraan aDhaaray gun saaDhsang mil gaav-ay.
O’ my Beloved God, the support of my breath of life, please bless me so that in the company of saintly persons I may also sing your praises.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ, ਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਸਕੇ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਵਏ ॥੧॥
naanak kay su-aamee Dhaar anoograhu man tan ank samaav-ay. ||1||
O’ the Master of Nanak, please show me mercy, so that my body and soul may remain merged in Your embrace,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿਚ (ਹੀ) ਸਮਾਇਆ ਰਹੇ

ਸੋਹੰਦੜੋ ਹਭ ਠਾਇ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਦਿਸੈ ਡੂਜੜੋ ॥
sohandarho habh thaa-ay ko-ay na disai doojrho.
He is Beautiful in all places; I do not see any other at all.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੋਭ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਐਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਖੁਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੜੇ ਕਪਾਟ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਤੇ ॥੧॥
khulHrhay kapaat naanak satgur bhayttay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, upon meeting the true Guru, the mind detaches itself from the worldly desires. Then the person understands that God is pervading everywhere.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੰਦ ਹੋਏ) ਕਵਾੜ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

ਤੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਆਧਾਰ ਬਾਣੀ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥
tayray bachan anoop apaar santan aaDhaar banee beechaaree-ai jee-o.
O’ God, uniquely beautiful and infinite are Your Divine Words, and these are the support of the saints and we reflect on them.
ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹਨ। ਹੈ ਬੰਦੇ! ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ।
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਸੁਆਸ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥
simrat saas giraas pooran bisu-aas ki-o manhu bisaaree-ai jee-o.
By remembering You with every breath they come to firmly believe that God’s Name should never be forgotten.
ਸੁਆਸ ਸੁਆਸ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਬੇਸਾਰੀਐ ਨਿਮਖ ਨਹੀ ਟਾਰੀਐ ਗੁਣਵੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
ki-o manhu baysaaree-ai nimakh nahee taaree-ai gunvant paraan hamaaray.
O’ virtuous Master, the support of life-breath, Why should we put Your Name out of our mind? We should not forget You even for a moment.
ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹਟਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ l
ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਦੇਤ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
man baaNchhat fal dayt hai su-aamee jee-a kee birthaa saaray.
God fulfills the desires of every mind, and takes care of every one’s pain.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਿਤ ਫਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਪੀੜਾ ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਨਾਥੇ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਕੈ ਸਾਥੇ ਜਪਿ ਜੂਐ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹਾਰੀਐ ॥
anaath kay naathay sarab kai saathay jap joo-ai janam na haaree-ai.
By meditating on God, the the support of the support-less and friend of all, we do not lose our life in game of gamble.
ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਜਨਮ ਜੂਏ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੀਐ ॥੨॥
naanak kee baynantee parabh peh kirpaa kar bhavjal taaree-ai. ||2||
Nanak offers this prayer to God: please show Your mercy and help us swim across this dreadful world-ocean of vices.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ l

ਧੂੜੀ ਮਜਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਖੇ ਸਾਈ ਥੀਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
Dhoorhee majan saaDh khay saa-ee thee-ay kirpaal.
On whom God showers His mercy, they get the opportunity of joining and humbly serving the saints.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ) ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ (ਕਰਨਾ ਨਸੀਬ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਲਧੇ ਹਭੇ ਥੋਕੜੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲ ॥੧॥
laDhay habhay thokrhay naanak har Dhan maal. ||1||
O’ Nanak, those who collected the treasure of Naam, they feel like they have found everything they ever needed.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਧਾਮ ਭਗਤਹ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਆਸਾ ਲਗਿ ਜੀਵਤੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
sundar su-aamee Dhaam bhagtah bisraam aasaa lag jeevtay jee-o.
God’s lotus feet (His Divine Word) is the resting place for the minds of the devotees, they live in the hope of attaining it
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ (ਦੇ ਮਨ) ਵਾਸਤੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ-ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਊਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਨਿ ਤਨੇ ਗਲਤਾਨ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਤੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
man tanay galtaan simrat parabh naam har amrit peevtay jee-o.
Being fully absorbed both in body and mind in Him, they lovingly meditate on God’s Name and relish the nectar of Naam.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ-ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ (ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਸਦਾ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
