ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬੁਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੈ ਦਾਜੋ ॥
har parabh mayray babulaa har dayvhu daan mai daajo.
O’ my father, give me Naam as my wedding gift and dowry.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ! (ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਦਾਜ ਮੰਗਦੀ ਹਾਂ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੀ ਦਾਜ ਦੇਹ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਪੜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਵਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਜੋ ॥
har kaprho har sobhaa dayvhu jit savrai mayraa kaajo.
Give me Naam as my wedding gown, and the Naam as my glory to accomplish my task (to unite with the Almighty).
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਸ਼ੋਕਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ! ਹਰੀ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਮ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਚੱਲ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਰਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਾਜੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥
har har bhagtee kaaj suhaylaa gur satgur daan divaa-i-aa.
Through devotional worship of God this ceremony is made blissful and beautiful; the True Guru, has given this gift of God’s Name.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਸੁਹਾਉਣੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਵੱਡੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਖੰਡਿ ਵਰਭੰਡਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋਈ ਇਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਨ ਰਲੈ ਰਲਾਇਆ ॥
khand varbhand har sobhaa ho-ee ih daan na ralai ralaa-i-aa.
God’s glory has spread in all the regions of the world, because this dowry (Naam) doesn’t look like any other dowry.
ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਦਾਜ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਦਾਜ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦਾਜ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਹੋਰਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦਾਜੁ ਜਿ ਰਖਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਹਿ ਸੁ ਕੂੜੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਕਚੁ ਪਾਜੋ ॥
hor manmukh daaj je rakh dikhaaleh so koorh ahaNkaar kach paajo.
Any other dowry, which the self-willed offer for show, is only false egotism and a worthless display.
ਕੋਰੀ ਹੋਰ ਦਾਜ ਜੋ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਧਰਕੇ ਦਿਖਾਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਾ ਵਿਖਾਵਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬੁਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੈ ਦਾਜੋ ॥੪॥

O’ my father, please give me Naam as my wedding gift.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੀ ਦਾਜ ਦੇਹ l
ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬੋਲਾ ਪਿਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਨ ਵੇਲ ਵਧੰਦੀ ॥
har raam raam mayray baabolaa pir mil Dhan vayl vaDhandee.
O’ my father, uniting with that all-pervading God, my progeny has multiplied like the flourishing vine.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ! ਹਰੀ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਵੇਲ ਵਾਙੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਚੱਲ ਪਈ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੋ ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੋ ਸਦ ਪੀੜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਚਲੰਦੀ ॥
har jugah jugo jug jugah jugo sad peerhee guroo chalandee.
Through the Guru, the progeny of God’s (devotees) has been growing throughout all ages.
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਚਲੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਪੀੜੀ ਚਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
jug jug peerhee chalai satgur kee jinee gurmukh naam Dhi-aa-i-aa.
Those who by the Guru’s grace have meditated on God’s Name, their lineage with the Guru continues to flourish age after age.
ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ (ਧਾਰਮਕ ਘਰਾਣਾ) ਚੱਲ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ
ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਜਾਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਦੇਵੈ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ॥
har purakh na kab hee binsai jaavai nit dayvai charhai savaa-i-aa.
God (is such a husband, who) never dies nor goes away, and who every day gives more and more.
ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਮਰਦਾ ਜਾਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਵਧਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋਹੰਦੀ ॥
naanak sant sant har ayko jap har har naam sohandee.
O’ Nanak, the Almighty God and the His devotees are spiritually one. By meditating on Naam, the soul-brides become spiritually beauteous.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ

O’ my dear father, by meeting with God my progeny (of Guru following souls has multiplied like the flourishing vine.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ! ਹਰੀ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਵੇਲ ਵਾਙੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਚੱਲ ਪਈ ਹੈ।

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God. Realized by the grace of the Guru.
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa gobind naam samaalay.
O’ dear mind, my friend, reflect upon the Naam.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ।
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee mitraa har nibhai tayrai naalay.
O’ dear mind, my friend, the Creator shall always be with you.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ (ਸਦਾ) ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੇਗਾ।
ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥
sang sahaa-ee har naam Dhi-aa-ee birthaa ko-ay na jaa-ay.
God’s Name shall be with you as your companion. Whoever meditate on Him, does not return empty-handed from this world.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ -ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
man chinday say-ee fal paavahi charan kamal chit laa-ay.
Attune your attention on God’s lotus feet (Name) all your desires shall be fulfilled
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ ਇੱਛਤ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏਂਗਾ।
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੇ ॥
jal thal poor rahi-aa banvaaree ghat ghat nadar nihaalay.
The Master of the world is pervading the water and the land; dwelling in each and every heart, He sees all with His glance of grace.
ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਖ ਦੇਇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਜਾਲੇ ॥੧॥
naanak sikh day-ay man pareetam saaDhsang bharam jaalay. ||1||
O beloved mind, Nanak gives this advice:,burn away your doubts while dwelling in the holy congregation,
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ-ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ l
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee mitraa har bin jhooth pasaaray.
O my dear friendly mind, except God, all other worldly things are short-lived.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ , ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਪਸਾਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa bikh saagar sansaaray.
O’ dear friendly mind, the world is like an ocean filled with the poison of vices.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਇਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਕਰਿ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥
charan kamal kar bohith kartay sahsaa dookh na bi-aapai.
If you let the Creator’s lotus feet (Naam) be your Boat, the pain and skepticism shall not touch you.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਬਣਾ (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਕੋਈ ਸਹਮ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪੈ ॥
gur pooraa bhaytai vadbhaagee aath pahar parabh jaapai.
By good fortune, when one meets the perfect Guru, one meditates on God’s Name at all times.
ਜਿਸ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਭਗਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥
aad jugaadee sayvak su-aamee bhagtaa naam aDhaaray.
From the very beginning, and throughout the ages, He is the Master of His servants. His Name is the Support of His devotees.
ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ, ਜੁਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਖ ਦੇਇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਝੂਠ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
naanak sikh day-ay man pareetam bin har jhooth pasaaray. ||2||
Nanak gives this advice: O’ beloved mind, without the love of the Creator, all outward show is short-lived.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ , ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਪਸਾਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਲਦੇ ਖੇਪ ਸਵਲੀ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa har laday khayp savlee.
O’ dear mind, my friend, load yourself with the wealth of the Naam.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਝ, ਇਹ ਸੌਦਾ ਨਫ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਦਰੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਮਲੀ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa har dar nihchal malee.
O’ dear friendly mind stay attached with the sanctuary of the Almighty.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਮੱਲੀ ਰੱਖ, ਇਹੀ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਦਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵੇ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਆਸਣੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
har dar sayvay alakh abhayvay nihchal aasan paa-i-aa.
One who serves at the Door of the Imperceptible and Unfathomable Creator, obtains the eternal position.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਤੇ ਭੇਦ-ਰਹਿਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਮੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਐਸਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਤਹ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥
tah janam na maran na aavan jaanaa sansaa dookh mitaa-i-aa.
In that state) there are no more cycles of birth and death, and all the pain of illusion is dispelled.
ਉਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਟਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤ ਕਾ ਕਾਗਦੁ ਫਾਰਿਆ ਜਮਦੂਤਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਚਲੀ ॥
chitar gupat kaa kaagad faari-aa jamdootaa kachhoo na chalee.
The account of Chitra Gupt (angel who is believed to keep a record of our good and bad deeds) is torn up, and even the couriers of death cannot do anything.
ਲੇਖਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ ਪਾਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਹਲਕਾਰੇ ਬੇਬਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਖ ਦੇਇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਹਰਿ ਲਦੇ ਖੇਪ ਸਵਲੀ ॥੩॥
naanak sikh day-ay man pareetam har laday khayp savlee. ||3||
O beloved mind, Nanak gives this advice: load the wealth of the Naam.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਝ
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa kar santaa sang nivaaso.
O’ dear mind, my friend, abide in the Society of the Saints.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਹਣ-ਖਲੋਣ ਬਣਾ।
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਪਰਗਾਸੋ ॥
man pi-aari-aa jee-o mitraa har naam japat pargaaso.
O’ dear mind, my friend, reciting the Naam with fervor, the mind is illuminated with divine knowledge..
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ! (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਇਛ ਸਗਲੀ ਪੁੰਨੀਆ ॥
simar su-aamee sukhah gaamee ichh saglee punnee-aa.
By remembering the bliss-giving God Almighty with love and devotion, all the desires are fulfilled.
ਸੁਖ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
