ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਗਸੇ ਆਪਿ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੫॥੮॥
paykh darsan naanak bigsay aap la-ay milaa-ay. ||4||5||8||
O’ Nanak, whom God unites with Himself, they feel delighted by experiencing His blessed vision. ||4||5||8||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਨੰਦ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੫॥੮॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨਗਰੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
abichal nagar gobind guroo kaa naam japat sukh paa-i-aa raam.
Those who achieved bliss while lovingly remembering God through the Guru’s teachings, their bodies became the abode for the eternal God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ) ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ) ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।
ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
man ichhay say-ee fal paa-ay kartai aap vasaa-i-aa raam.
The Creator-God Himself instilled divine virtues in them and they received whatever their minds had desired.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਸ਼ਹਰ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪ ਵਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।
ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੁਤ ਭਾਈ ਸਿਖ ਬਿਗਾਸੇ ॥
kartai aap vasaa-i-aa sarab sukh paa-i-aa put bhaa-ee sikh bigaasay.
Yes, God Himself instilled divine virtues in them, they attained celestial peace and their sensory organs, which are like their sons, brothers and disciples, also remained delighted.
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੇ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਉਹ) ਸਿੱਖ (ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਉਹ) ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਉਹ) ਭਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ-ਮੱਥੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਸੇ ॥
gun gaavahi pooran parmaysur kaaraj aa-i-aa raasay.
They keep singing the praises of the all pervading God and the objective of their life is successfully accomplished.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪੇ ਰਖਾ ਆਪਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
parabh aap su-aamee aapay rakhaa aap pitaa aap maa-i-aa
God himself is their Master, the Protector and takes care of them like a father and mother.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ,ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਿਉ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
kaho naanak satgur balihaaree jin ayhu thaan suhaa-i-aa. ||1||
Nanak says: I am dedicated to the true Guru who has adorned this body. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਘਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਹਟਨਾਲੇ ਸੋਹੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
ghar mandar hatnaalay sohay jis vich naam nivaasee raam.
The bodies in which God becomes manifest, all the sensory organs of those bodies become spiritually beauteous.
ਜਿਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
sant bhagat har naam araaDheh katee-ai jam kee faasee raam.
The true saints and the devotees in those bodies always remember God with adoration and the noose of their spiritual death is cut off.
ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਸੰਤ-ਜਨ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਫਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
kaatee jam faasee parabh abhinaasee har har naam Dhi-aa-ay.
Yes, the eternal God has cut off the noose of the spiritual death of those who have lovingly meditated on God’s Name through the Guru’s teachings.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥
sagal samagree pooran ho-ee man ichhay fal paa-ay.
All the divine virtues necessary for cutting of the noose if spiritual death have been acquired, and all the desires of their mind got fulfilled.
ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟਣ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ,ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਨ-ਬਾਂਛਤ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਸੰਤ ਸਜਨ ਸੁਖਿ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਸੀ ॥
sant sajan sukh maaneh ralee-aa dookh darad bharam naasee.
The true saints and the devotees dwell in spiritual peace and enjoy the bliss; their pains, sufferings, and doubts are vanished
ਸੰਤ-ਜਨ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਰਦ ਤੇ ਭਰਮ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਸੀ ॥੨॥
sabad savaaray satgur poorai naanak sad bal jaasee. ||2||
O’ Nanak, I am forever dedicated to the perfect true Guru who has embellished them through his divine word. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਰਨ-ਪਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੨॥
ਦਾਤਿ ਖਸਮ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
daat khasam kee pooree ho-ee nit nit charhai savaa-ee raam.
One on whom the Master-God bestowed the perfect gift of remembering Naam, this gift multiplies day by day within that person,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਸਦਾ ਵਧਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਖਸਮਾਨਾ ਕੀਆ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
paarbarahm khasmaanaa kee-aa jis dee vadee vadi-aa-ee raam.
because the supreme God, whose glory is great, has protected him like a Master.
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭਇਆ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
aad jugaad bhagtan kaa raakhaa so parabh bha-i-aa da-i-aalaa.
God, who has been protecting His devotees from the very beginning and throughout the ages, became merciful on him.
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਭਗਤਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
jee-a jant sabh sukhee vasaa-ay parabh aapay kar partipaalaa.
God Himself cherishes all the beings and creatures and has ensured that they all dwell in peace.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
dah dis poor rahi-aa jas su-aamee keemat kahan na jaa-ee.
The glory of God is pervading everywhere; His worth cannot be described.
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਖਿਲਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸ (ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ) ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨੀਵ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੩॥
kaho naanak satgur balihaaree jin abichal neev rakhaa-ee. ||3||
Nanak says, I am dedicated to the true Guru who has laid the eternal foundation of remembering God. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਹਿੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
gi-aan Dhi-aan pooran parmaysur har har kathaa nit sunee-ai raam.
O’ my friend, they hear spiritual wisdom and the praises of the all pervading eternal God are heard every day.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਉਸ ‘ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨਗਰ’ ਵਿਚ) ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਣ ਦੀ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਨ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ-ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਹਦ ਚੋਜ ਭਗਤ ਭਵ ਭੰਜਨ ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ ਧੁਨੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
anhad choj bhagat bhav bhanjan anhad vaajay Dhunee-ai raam.
The continuous divine melody of praises and wondrous plays of God, who ends the cycle of birth and death of His devotees, keeps vibrating in them.
(ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ) ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚੋਜ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਧੁਨੀ ਉਠਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਹਦ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੇ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਨਿਤ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
anhad jhunkaaray tat beechaaray sant gosat nit hovai.
Yes, the continuous divine melodies of God’s praises keep vibrating in them; the saints discuss among themselves about the essence of reality every day.
ਉਸ ‘ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨਗਰ’ ਵਿਚ, ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ-ਦੇ-ਮੂਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਸਪਰ ਰੱਬੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਸਭ ਕਾਟਹਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਖੋਵੈ ॥
har naam araaDheh mail sabh kaateh kilvikh saglay khovai.
The saintly people wash off all the filth of evil thoughts and get rid of all their sins by remembering God with loving devotion.
(ਸੰਤ-ਜਨ ਉਸ ‘ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨਗਰ’ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਹ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਮਰਣਾ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਜੋੁਨੀਐ ॥
tah janam na marnaa aavan jaanaa bahurh na paa-ee-ai jonee-ai.
They attain a status where there is no birth, no death and no more getting into reincarnations.
ਉਸ ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨਗਰ’ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆਂ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਈਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀਐ ॥੪॥੬॥੯॥
naanak gur parmaysar paa-i-aa jis parsaad ichh punee-ai. ||4||6||9||
O’ Nanak, they are united with that divine Guru by whose grace all the desires are fulfilled. ||4||6||9||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ’ ॥੪॥੬॥੯॥

ਸੰਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਖਲੋਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਮੁ ਕਰਾਵਣਿ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

O’ my friends, God Himself helps to resolve the tasks of the saints; He Himself manifests in some form to complete their tasks.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਣ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਰਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਤਾਲੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
Dharat suhaavee taal suhaavaa vich amrit jal chhaa-i-aa raam.
One whose mind is totally drenched with the ambrosial nectar of Naam, his body and heart become beautiful with it.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ (ਕਾਂਇਆਂ-ਧਰਤੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ- ਤਲਾਬ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਾਜੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
amrit jal chhaa-i-aa pooran saaj karaa-i-aa sagal manorath pooray.
Yes, the one whose mind is totally filled with the ambrosial nectar of Naam, God helps him succeed in his efforts to achieve the supreme spiritual status and thus all his desires are fulfilled.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਭਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਉੱਦਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਜਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲਾਥੇ ਸਗਲ ਵਿਸੂਰੇ ॥
jai jai kaar bha-i-aa jag antar laathay sagal visooray.
That person’s anxieties and worries end and he is honored throughout the world.
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਝੋਰੇ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਜਸੁ ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
pooran purakh achut abhinaasee jas vayd puraanee gaa-i-aa.
The Vedas and the Puraanas also sing the praises of the perfect and all pervading eternal God.
ਉਸ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ (ਇਹੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ (ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ) ਵੇਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਨੇ (ਭੀ) ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
apnaa birad rakhi-aa parmaysar naanak naam Dhi-aa-i-aa. ||1||
O’ Nanak, the supreme God has always maintained His original disposition of helping His devotees who lovingly remember Him. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥
ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਦੀਨੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
nav niDh siDh riDh deenay kartay tot na aavai kaa-ee raam.
O’ my friends, all the treasures of the world and all the miraculous powers are the gifts from the Creator-God and there is never any shortage of these.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕਰਤਾਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਦਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
