ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸੋਵਤ ਬੈਸਤ ਖਲਿਆ ॥
so parabh apunaa sadaa Dhi-aa-ee-ai sovat baisat khali-aa.
We should always lovingly remember our God in every situation, whether sitting, standing, or asleep.
ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਖਲੋਤਿਆਂ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਈ ॥
gun niDhaan sukh saagar su-aamee jal thal mahee-al so-ee.
God, the treasure of virtues and the ocean of celestial peace, pervades the water, the land, and the sky.
ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
jan naanak parabh kee sarnaa-ee tis bin avar na ko-ee. ||3||
Devotee Nanak is in the refuge of God because except Him there is no other support. ||3||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਬਨਿਆ ਬਨੁ ਤਾਲੁ ਬਨਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
mayraa ghar bani-aa ban taal bani-aa parabh parsay har raa-i-aa raam.
Since the time I came to the refuge of God, the sovereign king, my body and heart has become spiritually embellished.
ਜਦੋਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਰਸੇ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ (ਸੋਹਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਰੰਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਸਰਸੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੰਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
mayraa man sohi-aa meet saajan sarsay gun mangal har gaa-i-aa raam.
Since the time I started singing God’s praises, my mind is adorned with virtues and my sensory organs started rejoicing on the spiritual path.
(ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ (ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਗਲ ਇਛਾ ਪਾਈਆ ॥
gun gaa-ay parabhoo Dhi-aa-ay saachaa sagal ichhaa paa-ee-aa.
All the hopes are fulfilled by singing the praises of the eternal God and by remembering Him with adoration.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇੱਛਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਗੇ ਮਨਿ ਵਜੀਆ ਵਾਧਾਈਆ ॥
gur charan laagay sadaa jaagay man vajee-aa vaaDhaa-ee-aa.
Those who are attuned to the Guru’s divine word, remain alert to the worldly temptations and are always in high spirits.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲਗੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ-ਭਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
karee nadar su-aamee sukhah gaamee halat palat savaari-aa.
God, the benefactor of celestial peace, adorned this and the next world of the one on whom He bestowed His glance of grace.
ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੭॥
binvant naanak nit naam japee-ai jee-o pind jin Dhaari-aa. ||4||4||7||
Nanak prays, we should always lovingly remember God who has Supported our body and soul. ||4||4||7||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਟਿਕਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥੭॥

Raag Soohee, Fifth Guru:
ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰੋ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhai saagro bhai saagar tari-aa har har naam Dhi-aa-ay raam.
This world is like a dreadful ocean; one who remembers God with loving devotion swims across this dreadful ocean of vices.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਡਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੋਹਿਥੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਅਰਾਧੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
bohithrhaa har charan araaDhay mil satgur paar laghaa-ay raam.
God’s immaculate Name is like a ship, one who remembers God through the true Guru’s teachings, the Guru helps that person to cross the world-ocean of vices.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹਨ, (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਤਰੀਐ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਰੀਐ ਚੂਕੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
gur sabdee taree-ai bahurh na maree-ai chookai aavan jaanaa.
One can cross the worldly ocean of vices through the Guru’s divine word and does not spiritually die again, his cycle of birth and death ends.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਨਾਲ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹੇੜੀਦੀ, ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਉ ਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥
jo kichh karai so-ee bhal maan-o taa man sahj samaanaa.
When one deems pleasing whatever God does, then the mind merges in a state of spiritual poise.
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਲਾ ਮੰਨੋ ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੂਖ ਨ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਏ ॥
dookh na bhookh na rog na bi-aapai sukh saagar sarnee paa-ay.
By remaining in the refuge of God, the ocean of peace, no sorrows, hunger for worldly riches, or any other malady afflicts.
ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ, ਕੋਈ ਭੁੱਖ, ਕੋਈ ਰੋਗ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਮਿਟਾਏ ॥੧॥
har simar simar naanak rang raataa man kee chint mitaa-ay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, by meditating on God’s Name, one who gets imbued with God’s love, removes all the worries of his mind.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਿਟਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
sant janaa har mantar drirh-aa-i-aa har saajan vasgat keenay raam.
The soul-bride in whom the saintly persons firmly implanted the mantra of Naam, has attained loving control over her beloved God.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਵੱਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਆਪਨੜਾ ਮਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਧਰਿਆ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
aapnarhaa man aagai Dhari-aa sarbas thaakur deenay raam.
That soul-bride surrendered her mind before the Master-God and He blessed her with everything.
ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅੱਗੋਂ ਠਾਕੁਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਥਿਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
kar apunee daasee mitee udaasee har mandar thit paa-ee.
God made her the devotee, her sadness because of the love for worldly riches ended and she realized the stability of mind within.
ਠਾਕੁਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਦਿਕ ਲਈ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ-ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਟਿਕਾਉ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
anad binod simrahu parabh saachaa vichhurh kabhoo na jaa-ee.
O’ my friend, lovingly remember the eternal God, you would remain joyous and blissful; one who does that, never separates from Him and never goes anywhere.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ (ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। (ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ (ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ) ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦੀ।
ਸਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਣਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ॥
saa vadbhaagan sadaa sohagan raam naam gun cheenHay.
That fortunate soul-bride who reflects on the virtues of God, remains eternally united with Him.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਵਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸਿ ਭੀਨੇ ॥੨॥
kaho naanak raveh rang raatay paraym mahaa ras bheenay. ||2||
Nanak says, those who remain imbued with the love of God, remain filled with the supreme relish of His love. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਭਏ ਨਿਤ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੰਗਲ ਸਦਾ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਰਾਮ ॥
anad binod bha-ay nit sakhee-ay mangal sadaa hamaarai raam. Excellent
O’ my friends, I revel in the spiritual joys and pleasures everyday and there is always a sense of bliss in my heart.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਚਾਉ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਆਪਨੜੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
aapnarhai parabh aap seegaaree sobhaavantee naaray raam.
My God Himself has embellished me and has me His praiseworthy soul-bride.
ਮੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਗੁਣ ਅਵਗਣ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥
sahj subhaa-ay bha-ay kirpaalaa gun avgan na beechaari-aa.
God intuitively becomes merciful upon His devotees and does not consider their virtues and vices.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਸੁਭਾਵਕ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਔਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦੇ।
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਇ ਲੀਏ ਜਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
kanth lagaa-ay lee-ay jan apunay raam naam ur Dhaari-aa.
The devotees who enshrine God’s Name in their heart, God keeps them so close to Him as if keeping them in His embrace.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਮਦ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਪੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
maan moh mad sagal bi-aapee kar kirpaa aap nivaaray.
O’ my friend, the entire world is afflicted by the arrogant pride and love for worldly riches; bestowing mercy, God has freed me from these.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਉਤੇ ਭਾਰੂ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਜ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
kaho naanak bhai saagar tari-aa pooran kaaj hamaaray. ||3||
Nanak says, I have crossed over the terrifying world-ocean of vices and all my affairs have been perfectly resolved ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ,ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ (ਭੀ) ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਸਖੀਹੋ ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
gun gopaal gaavhu nit sakheeho sagal manorath paa-ay raam.
O’ my friends, always sing the praises of God of the universe, by doing so all the objectives of life are achieved.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
safal janam ho-aa mil saaDhoo aykankaar Dhi-aa-ay raam.
Life becomes fruitful by lovingly remembering the all pervading eternal God through the Guru’s teachings.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਪਿ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਨੇਕ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਛਾਇਆ ॥
jap ayk parabhoo anayk ravi-aa sarab mandal chhaa-i-aa.
Meditate on one God who is pervading the entire universe in many forms.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੋ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
barahmo pasaaraa barahm pasri-aa sabh barahm daristee aa-i-aa.
This entire universe is the expanse of God, who is pervading and is being experienced everywhere.
ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਪਸਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਏ ॥
jal thal mahee-al poor pooran tis binaa nahee jaa-ay.
The Perfect God is totally pervading the water, the land and the sky; there is no place without Him.
ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।
