ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਦੇਵਾਨਿਆ ॥
kaam kroDh ahaNkaar fireh dayvaani-aa.
Engrossed in lust, anger and egotism, they wander around insane.
ਕਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿਚ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਝੱਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸਿਰਿ ਲਗਾ ਜਮ ਡੰਡੁ ਤਾ ਪਛੁਤਾਨਿਆ ॥
sir lagaa jam dand taa pachhutaani-aa.
They repent when they are hit by the blow of the demon of death.
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਪਛੁਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਫਿਰੈ ਸੈਤਾਨਿਆ ॥੯॥
bin pooray gurdayv firai saitaani-aa. ||9||
Without the perfect Guru’s teahings, a mortal roams around like a satan. ||9||
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥

ਰਾਜ ਕਪਟੰ ਰੂਪ ਕਪਟੰ ਧਨ ਕਪਟੰ ਕੁਲ ਗਰਬਤਹ ॥
raaj kaptaN roop kaptaN Dhan kaptaN kul garabteh.
Kingdom, beauty, wealth, and pride of ancestry are all illusions.
ਰਾਜ ਰੂਪ ਧਨ ਤੇ (ਉੱਚੀ) ਕੁਲ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ-ਸਭ ਛਲ-ਰੂਪ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਚੰਤਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਛਲੰ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਤੇ ॥੧॥
saNchant bikhi-aa chhalaN chhidaraN naanak bin har sang na chaaltay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, people amass worldly wealth by committing frauds and sins, but nothing accompanies them after death except God’s Name. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੀਵ ਛਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਲਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਏਥੋਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੧॥
ਪੇਖੰਦੜੋ ਕੀ ਭੁਲੁ ਤੁੰਮਾ ਦਿਸਮੁ ਸੋਹਣਾ ॥
paykhand-rho kee bhul tummaa disam sohnaa.
Seeing the bitter melon, one makes a mistake because of its beautiful appearance.
ਕੋੜੇ ਕੱਦੂ ਨੂੰ, ਜੋ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਢੁ ਨ ਲਹੰਦੜੋ ਮੁਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜੁਲਈ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
adh na lahand-rho mul naanak saath na jul-ee maa-i-aa. ||2||
But it is not worth even half a penny; O’ Nanak, similar is the Maya which looks attractive but is worthless because it accompanies no one in the end. ||2||
ਇਸ ਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਅੱਧੀ ਕੌਡੀ ਭੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਹੀ ਹਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਭਾ ਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਭੀ ਕੌਡੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਏਥੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੨॥

ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਸੰਜੀਐ ॥
chaldi-aa naal na chalai so ki-o sanjee-ai.
Why amass that wealth which doesn’t accompany us when we depart from this world?
ਉਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਹਦੇ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ,
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਆ ਜਤਨੁ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਵੰਜੀਐ ॥
tis kaa kaho ki-aa jatan jis tay vanjee-ai.
Why do we need to make efforts for something from which we are going to be separated in the end?
ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕੀਹ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ?
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਐ ਕਿਉ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ਨਾ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਜੀਐ ॥
har bisri-ai ki-o tariptaavai naa man ranjee-ai.
By forsaking God, our mind cannot be satisfied or pleased.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆਂ (ਨਿਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ) ਰੱਜੀਦਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਨਰਕਿ ਸਮੰਜੀਐ ॥
parabhoo chhod an laagai narak samanjee-ai.
By forsaking God and getting attached to others, we would live in hell.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜੇ ਮਨ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਲਗਾਇਆਂ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਉ ਭੰਜੀਐ ॥੧੦॥
hohu kirpaal da-i-aal naanak bha-o bhanjee-ai. ||10||
O’ God, bestow mercy and dispel this fear of Nanak. ||10||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ, ਦਇਆ ਕਰ, ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਹ ॥੧੦॥

ਨਚ ਰਾਜ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਸਟੰ ਨਚ ਭੋਗ ਰਸ ਮਿਸਟੰ ਨਚ ਮਿਸਟੰ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
nach raaj sukh mistaN nach bhog ras mistaN nach mistaN sukh maa-i-aa.
The comforts of kingdom, the delicious foods and the pleasures of Maya are not sweet and pleasing,
ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ-ਇਹ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ,
ਮਿਸਟੰ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਮਿਸਟੰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਰਸਨੰ ॥੧॥
mistaN saaDhsang har naanak daas mistaN parabh darsanaN. ||1||
O’ Nanak, to the devotees of God, the blessed vision of God’s Name received in the holy congregation seems sweet and pleasing. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਮਿਲਿਆ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਲਗੜਾ ਸੋ ਨੇਹੁ ਮੰਨ ਮਝਾਹੂ ਰਤਿਆ ॥
lagrhaa so nayhu man majhaahoo rati-aa.
The person who wells up such a love for God, his mind gets imbued with it,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਏ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਨ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ) ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਏ,
ਵਿਧੜੋ ਸਚ ਥੋਕਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਠੜਾ ਸੋ ਧਣੀ ॥੨॥
viDh-rho sach thok naanak mith-rhaa so Dhanee. ||2||
and his mind gets strung with the pearls of God’s Name; O’ Nanak, to such a person, Master-God seems dear and sweet.||2||
ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੋਤੀ) ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਤਾ ਜਾਏ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਉੜੀ ॥

Pauree:
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਲਾਗਈ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
har bin kachhoo na laag-ee bhagtan ka-o meethaa.
Nothing except God’s Name, seems sweet and pleasing to His devotees.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ।
ਆਨ ਸੁਆਦ ਸਭਿ ਫੀਕਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਨਿਰਨਉ ਡੀਠਾ ॥
aan su-aad sabh feeki-aa kar nirna-o deethaa.
They have come to the conclusion that all other relishes are tasteless except God’s Name.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਫਿੱਕੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਬਸੀਠਾ ॥
agi-aan bharam dukh kati-aa gur bha-ay baseethaa.
The Guru became their intercessor and all their ignorance, doubt and suffering are dispelled.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵਕੀਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਤੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਅਗਿਆਨ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਜਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਜੀਠਾ ॥
charan kamal man bayDhi-aa ji-o rang majeethaa.
God’s love has pierced their mind like dying a cloth in fast color of Majeeth, a dye.
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ-ਕਮਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਜੀਠ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਪੱਕਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਭਿ ਝੂਠਾ ॥੧੧॥
jee-o paraan tan man parabhoo binsay sabh jhoothaa. ||11||
All the false worldly attachments have been destroyed and now God is their life, breath, body and mind. ||11||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੧॥

ਤਿਅਕਤ ਜਲੰ ਨਹ ਜੀਵ ਮੀਨੰ ਨਹ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਮੇਘ ਮੰਡਲਹ ॥
ti-akat jalaN nah jeev meenaN nah ti-aag chaatrik maygh mandlah.
Just as the fish cannot survive by abandoning water, a pied cuckoo cannot live forsaking the sphere of clouds;
ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਜੀਊ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪਪੀਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਊ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਬਾਣ ਬੇਧੰਚ ਕੁਰੰਕ ਨਾਦੰ ਅਲਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਕੁਸਮ ਬਾਸਨਹ ॥
baan bayDhanch kurank naadaN al banDhan kusam baasnah.
and just as the deer is enticed by the sound of the hunter’s bell and is shot with his arrow, and the bumble bee gets itself entangled in the flowers due to its fragrance.
ਹਰਨ ਰਾਗ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਭੌਰੇ ਦੇ ਬੱਝਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਰਚੰਤਿ ਸੰਤਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਨ ਨ ਰੁਚਤੇ ॥੧॥
charan kamal rachant santeh naanak aan na ruchtay. ||1||
Similarly, O’ Nanak, the saints are entranced by God’s Name and they are not allured by anything else. ||1||
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਮੁਖੁ ਡੇਖਾਊ ਪਲਕ ਛਡਿ ਆਨ ਨ ਡੇਊ ਚਿਤੁ ॥
mukh daykhaa-oo palak chhad aan na day-oo chit.
O’ God, if I get a glimpse of Your sight for even an instant, then forsaking You, I will not attach my consciousness to any other.
ਜੇ ਇਕ ਪਲਕ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁਖ ਵੇਖ ਲਵਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਚਿੱਤ (ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ) ਨਾਹ ਜੋੜਾਂ।
ਜੀਵਣ ਸੰਗਮੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਮਿਤੁ ॥੨॥
jeevan sangam tis Dhanee har naanak santaaN mit. ||2||
O’ Nanak, real life is living in the presence of that God who is the true friend of His saints. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!ਅਸਲੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਉਸ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਜਿਉ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਾਣੀਐ ਕਿਉ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
ji-o machhulee bin paanee-ai ki-o jeevan paavai.
Just as a fish cannot survive without water,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਛੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀਊ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ,
ਬੂੰਦ ਵਿਹੂਣਾ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੋ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥
boond vihoonaa chaatriko ki-o kar tariptaavai.
a pied cuckoo cannot quench its thirst without a drop of rain,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੀ ਕਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਪੀਹਾ ਰੱਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਨਾਦ ਕੁਰੰਕਹਿ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
naad kuraNkeh bayDhi-aa sanmukh uth Dhaavai.
a dear entranced by the sound of the hunter’s bell, runs straight to the hunter,
ਜਿਵੇਂ, (ਘੰਡੇਹੇੜੇ ਦੀ) ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਓਧਰ ਹੀ ਉੱਠ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਭਵਰੁ ਲੋਭੀ ਕੁਸਮ ਬਾਸੁ ਕਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਪੁ ਬੰਧਾਵੈ ॥
bhavar lobhee kusam baas kaa mil aap banDhaavai.
a bumble bee being greedy for the sweet fragrance, gets itself entrapped in the flower,
ਜਿਵੇਂ, ਭੌਰਾ ਫੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਦਾ ਆਸ਼ਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਫੁੱਲ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਫਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਉ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਅਘਾਵੈ ॥੧੨॥
ti-o sant janaa har pareet hai daykh daras aghaavai. ||12||
Similarly, the saintly people are in love with God and they are satiated only by experiencing His sight. ||12||
ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੨॥

ਚਿਤਵੰਤਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲੰ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਅਰਾਧਨਹ ॥
chitvant charan kamlaN saas saas araaDhneh.
Those who attune their minds to God’s immaculate Name and remember Him with each and every breath.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਸ ਸੁਆਸ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਨਹ ਬਿਸਰੰਤਿ ਨਾਮ ਅਚੁਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਹ ॥੧॥
nah bisrant naam achut naanak aas pooran parmaysureh. ||1||
they never forsake the Name of the imperishable God; O’ Nanak, the all-pervading God fulfills their wishes. ||1||
ਜੋ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਦੇ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੀਤੜਾ ਮੰਨ ਮੰਝਾਹਿ ਪਲਕ ਨ ਥੀਵੈ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥
seet-rhaa man manjhaahi palak na theevai baahraa.
Those in whose minds God always remains enshrined and from whom He doesn’t get separated even for an instant,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਦਾ) ਪ੍ਰੋਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਜੁਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਸੜੀ ਨਿਬਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਪੇਖੰਦੋ ਸਚੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੨॥
naanak aasrhee nibaahi sadaa paykhando sach Dhanee. ||2||
O’ Nanak, the eternal Master fulfills all their wishes and always watches over them. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਸਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਆਸਾਵੰਤੀ ਆਸ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਪੂਰੀਐ ॥
aasaavantee aas gusaa-ee pooree-ai.
O’ the Master of the earth, all my hopes are in You, please fulfill my desires.
ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸੱਧਰਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਧਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਝੂਰੀਐ ॥
mil gopaal gobind na kabhoo jhooree-ai.
O’the sustainer of the universe, let me realize You so that I may never grieve.
ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਰੱਖਕ! ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ, ਤਾਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੇ ਤੌਖ਼ਲੇ ਨਾਹ ਕਰਾਂ।
ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਵਿਸੂਰੀਐ ॥
dayh daras man chaa-o leh jaahi visooree-ai.
My mind has a longing for Your vision; bless me with Your vision so that all my worries are removed.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਝੋਰੇ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣ।
