ਯਾਰ ਵੇ ਤੈ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਮੂ ਦਸਿ ਦਸੰਦਾ ॥
yaar vay tai raavi-aa laalan moo das dasandaa.
O’ my friend, you have enjoyed the company of dear God; please tell me about Him.
ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਸੱਜਣ! ਤੂੰ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੱਸ ਪਾ।
ਲਾਲਨੁ ਤੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਜੈ ਧਨ ਭਾਗ ਮਥਾਣੇ ॥
laalan tai paa-i-aa aap gavaa-i-aa jai Dhan bhaag mathaanay.
Beloved Spouse-God is realized by that soul-bride who is predestined and has gotten rid of her ego
ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਖੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਾ-ਭਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਾਂਹ ਪਕੜਿ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਹਉ ਘਿਧੀ ਗੁਣ ਅਵਗਣ ਨ ਪਛਾਣੇ ॥
baaNh pakarh thaakur ha-o ghiDhee gun avgan na pachhaanay.
God has accepted me and has made me as His own; He did not consider my virtues and sins.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਮੇਰੀ ਭੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਔਗੁਣ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰਖਿਆ।
ਗੁਣ ਹਾਰੁ ਤੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਲੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਹਭੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੁਹੰਦਾ ॥
gun haar tai paa-i-aa rang laal banaa-i-aa tis habho kichh suhandaa.
O’God, the bride soul whom You adorn with divine virtue and imbue her with the deep red color of Naam; everything in her life becomes beautiful.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਰ ਪਾਇਆ, ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਨੀਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਧੰਨਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਸਾਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਵਸੰਦਾ ॥੩॥
jan naanak Dhan suhaagan saa-ee jis sang bhataar vasandaa. ||3||
O’ Nanak, fortunate is that soul-bride who has realized Husband-God residing in her heart. ||3||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਹੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਯਾਰ ਵੇ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖ ਸੁਖੇਦੀ ਸਾ ਮੈ ਪਾਈ ॥
yaar vay nit sukh sukhaydee saa mai paa-ee.
O’ my friend, the wish I have been daily praying for has been fulfilled.
ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਸੱਜਣ! ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸੁੱਖਣਾ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁੱਖਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸਾਂ, ਉਹ (ਸੁੱਖਣਾ) ਮੈਂ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ (ਮੇਰੀ ਉਹ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ)।
ਵਰੁ ਲੋੜੀਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ॥
var lorheedaa aa-i-aa vajee vaaDhaa-ee.
I have realized my sought after Husband-God in my heart and now I feel as if blissful songs are vibrating in my heart.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਭਾਂਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ
ਮਹਾ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਰਹਸੁ ਥੀਆ ਪਿਰੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸਦ ਨਵ ਰੰਗੀਆ ॥
mahaa mangal rahas thee-aa pir da-i-aal sad nav rangee-aa.
I am feeling a sense of great celebration and joy, because my Husband-God is compassionate, ever young and loving.
ਸਦਾ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ, ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੜਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਤੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆ ॥
vad bhaag paa-i-aa gur milaa-i-aa saaDh kai satsangee-aa.
O’ my friend, with great fortune, I have realized Husband-God; The Guru has united me with my Husband-God through the congregation of saints.
ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਸੱਜਣ! ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਸਗਲ ਪੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਅੰਕਿ ਅੰਕੁ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
aasaa mansaa sagal pooree pari-a ank ank milaa-ee.
All my hopes and desires have been fulfilled; my Beloved Spouse-God has totally accepted me.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਮੇਰਾ ਆਪਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਕ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਸ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸੁਖ ਸੁਖੇਦੀ ਸਾ ਮੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥
binvant naanak sukh sukhaydee saa mai gur mil paa-ee. ||4||1||
Nanak says, by meeting the Guru, I have received what I was always praying for. ||4||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸੁੱਖਣਾ ਮੈਂ (ਸਦਾ) ਸੁੱਖਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਹ (ਸੁੱਖਣਾ) ਮੈਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਅਕਥੁ ॥
oochaa agam apaar parabh kathan na jaa-ay akath.
God is exalted, incomprehensible and infinite; He cannot be described.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਊਚਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਅਕਹਿ ਹੈ, ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਰਾਖਨ ਕਉ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥੧॥
naanak parabh sarnaagatee raakhan ka-o samrath. ||1||
O’ Nanak, I have sought the refuge of that God, who is all-powerful to protect those who come to His refuge. |1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥।।

ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਿਆ ॥
ji-o jaanhu ti-o raakh har parabh tayri-aa.
O’ God, I belong to You, protect me from the bonds of Maya as You wish.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਾਣੋ ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਕੇਤੇ ਗਨਉ ਅਸੰਖ ਅਵਗਣ ਮੇਰਿਆ ॥
kaytay gan-o asaNkh avgan mayri-aa.
I have committed countless sins; how many of them can I count?
ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਔਗੁਣ ਹਨ; ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਤਨੇ ਕੁ ਔਗੁਣ ਗਿਣਾਂ? ।
ਅਸੰਖ ਅਵਗਣ ਖਤੇ ਫੇਰੇ ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਦ ਭੂਲੀਐ ॥
asaNkh avgan khatay fayray nitparat sad bhoolee-ai.
My faults and misdeeds are countless, I am entrapped in the rounds of sins; day after day, I continually make mistakes.
ਮੇਰੇ ਅਣਿਗਣਤ ਹੀ ਔਗੁਣ ਹਨ, ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨਿੱਤ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਕਾਈ ਖਾ ਜਾਈਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨ ਬਿਕਰਾਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਤਉ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀ ਘੂਲੀਐ ॥
moh magan bikraal maa-i-aa ta-o parsaadee ghoolee-ai.
I am engrossed in the love for the dreadful worldly attachments; by Your grace alone can I be saved.
ਭਿਆਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬਚ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਲੂਕ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਬਿਖੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰਿਆ ॥
look karat bikaar bikh-rhay parabh nayr hoo tay nayri-aa.
In secret, we commit so many evils and sins; but, O’ God, You are nearer than the nearest to us.
ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਵਿਕਾਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਨੇੜੇ (ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਕਾਢਿ ਭਵਜਲ ਫੇਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
binvant naanak da-i-aa Dhaarahu kaadh bhavjal fayri-aa. ||1||
Nanak prays: O’ God bestow mercy and save us from repeatedly falling in the worldly ocean of vices. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ ॥੧॥

ਨਿਰਤਿ ਨ ਪਵੈ ਅਸੰਖ ਗੁਣ ਊਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
nirat na pavai asaNkh gun oochaa parabh kaa naa-o.
God’s glory is extremely exalted; His virtues are countless and cannot be enumerated.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮਣਾ (ਵਡੱਪਣ) ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥੨॥
naanak kee banantee-aa milai nithaavay thaa-o. ||2||
Nanak prays: O’ God! I am supportless, please bless me with Your support.||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਨਿਆਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ ॥੨॥

ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ਕਾ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
doosar naahee thaa-o kaa peh jaa-ee-ai.
Besides God’s presence there is no other place where we could go for any support.
ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ?
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
aath pahar kar jorh so parabh Dhi-aa-ee-ai.
With folded hands, we should always remember God with loving devotion.
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਿਆਇ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Dhi-aa-ay so parabh sadaa apunaa maneh chindi-aa paa-ee-ai.
By always remembering our God, we get the fruit of our heart’s desire.
ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਮਨ-ਮੰਗੀ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਐ ॥
taj maan moh vikaar doojaa ayk si-o liv laa-ee-ai.
Renouncing ego, worldly attachments and the sin of seeking support of anyone other than God, we should attune only to One God.
ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਮੋਹ, ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਭਾਲਣ ਦਾ ਭੈੜ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਇਕਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਰਪਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਗੈ ਆਪੁ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਈਐ ॥
arap man tan parabhoo aagai aap sagal mitaa-ee-ai.
Surrendering our mind and body before God, we should erase our self-conceit.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰਾ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
binvant naanak Dhaar kirpaa saach naam samaa-ee-ai. ||2||
Nanak prays, O’ God, bestow mercy, that we may get absorbed in Your eternal Name.||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ -ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
ray man taa ka-o Dhi-aa-ee-ai sabh biDh jaa kai haath.
O’ my mind, we should remember God because everything is under His command.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ (ਸਾਡੀ) ਹਰੇਕ (ਜੀਵਨ-) ਜੁਗਤਿ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥੩॥
raam naam Dhan sanchee-ai naanak nibhai saath. ||3||
O’ Nanak, we should amass the wealth of God’s Name, which accompanies us even after death. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਹੀ ਧਨ) ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥

ਸਾਥੀਅੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ॥

God is our only eternal companion; there is none other at all.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਨਹੀਂ।
ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਪੂਰ ਸੋਇ ॥
thaan thanantar aap jal thal poor so-ay.
He Himself is pervading all spaces and interspaces and He is the same One who pervades all waters and lands.
ਉਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਨੀ ॥
jal thal mahee-al poor rahi-aa sarab daataa parabh Dhanee.
God, the beneficent Master of all, is pervading the water, the land and the sky.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਅੰਤੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਆ ਗਨੀ ॥
gopaal gobind ant naahee bay-ant gun taa kay ki-aa ganee.
God, the Master and preserver of the universe, has unlimited, infinite virtues that I cannot even count them.
ਉਸ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ (ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਕੀਹ ਗਿਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ?
ਭਜੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਅਨ ਨਾਹਿ ਕੋਇ ॥
bhaj saran su-aamee sukhah gaamee tis binaa an naahi ko-ay.
O’ my friend, remain in the refuge of God. He is the benefactor of spiritual peace; except Him, there is none other at all.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
binvant naanak da-i-aa Dhaarahu tis paraapat naam ho-ay. ||3||
Nanak prays: O’ God, only that person on whom You show mercy receives Your Naam. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
