ਰਤਨੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
ratan raam ghat hee kay bheetar taa ko gi-aan na paa-i-o.
The jewel like precious God’s Name dwells within the heart, but one has no knowledge about it.
ਰਤਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਭਜਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੧॥
jan naanak bhagvant bhajan bin birthaa janam gavaa-i-o. ||2||1||
O’ Nanak, without meditation on God, one wastes his life in vain. ||2||1||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥

ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
har joo raakh layho pat mayree.
O’ dear God, save my honor.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਵੋ।
ਜਮ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਭਇਓ ਉਰ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਤੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jam ko taraas bha-i-o ur antar saran gahee kirpaa niDh tayree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In my heart is the terrible fear of death; O’ the treasure of mercy, I have grasped onto Your support to save myself from this fear. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਹਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਮੁਗਧ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੁਨਿ ਕਰਤ ਪਾਪ ਅਬ ਹਾਰਾ ॥
mahaa patit mugaDh lobhee fun karat paap ab haaraa.
O’ God, I am great sinner, foolish and a greedy person; but now I have grown weary of committing sins.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਂ, ਲਾਲਚੀ ਭੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਥੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਭੈ ਮਰਬੇ ਕੋ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਤਿਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤਨੁ ਜਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
bhai marbay ko bisrat naahin tih chintaa tan jaaraa. ||1||
I cannot forget the fear of dying; this anxiety is consuming my body. ||1||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਡਰ (ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ) ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ (ਮਰਨ) ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕੀਏ ਉਪਾਵ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਕਉ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਇਆ ॥
kee-ay upaav mukat kay kaaran dah dis ka-o uth Dhaa-i-aa.
I have been running around everywhere and have made many efforts to get myself liberated from the fear of death.
ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਉਠ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਦੌੜਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਘਟ ਹੀ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਮਰਮੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
ghat hee bheetar basai niranjan taa ko maram na paa-i-aa. ||2||
But I did not comprehend the secret of the immaculate God dwelling in my heart. ||2||
(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਹਿਨ ਗੁਨੁ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਕਛੁ ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਕਉਨੁ ਕਰਮੁ ਅਬ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
naahin gun naahin kachh jap tap ka-un karam ab keejai.
I neither have any virtues, nor have I performed any meditation or austerities; what should I do now to alleviate the fear of death?
ਮੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਨਹੀਂ (ਜੋ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਏ, ਫਿਰ) ਹੁਣ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏ?
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਸਰਨਾਗਤਿ ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੩॥੨॥
naanak haar pari-o sarnaagat abhai daan parabh deejai. ||3||2||
Nanak says, O’God, I am exhausted and have come to Your refuge; please bless me with the gift of fearlessness. ||3||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਹੋਰ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਹ ॥੩॥੨॥

Jaitsree, Ninth Mehl:
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਗਹੋ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥
man ray saachaa gaho bichaaraa.
O’ my mind, embrace this eternal wisdom,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਇਹ ਅਟੱਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ-
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ ਸਗਰੋ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam naam bin mithi-aa maano sagro ih sansaaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that except God’s Name, the entire world is an illusion. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟ ਬਾਕੀ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਜਾਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਜੋਗੀ ਖੋਜਤ ਹਾਰੇ ਪਾਇਓ ਨਾਹਿ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਰਾ ॥
jaa ka-o jogee khojat haaray paa-i-o naahi tih paaraa.
God, whom even the yogis have failed to find and could not reach His limit,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੋਗੀ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਥੱਕ ਗਏ, ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਾਹ ਲੱਭ ਸਕੇ l
ਸੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੁਮ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਪਛਾਨੋ ਰੂਪ ਰੇਖ ਤੇ ਨਿਆਰਾ ॥੧॥
so su-aamee tum nikat pachhaano roop raykh tay ni-aaraa. ||1||
deem that Master near you, but He has no form or features. ||1||
ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਜਾਣ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਚਿਹਨ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਵਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਾਹਿ ਸੰਭਾਰਾ ॥
paavan naam jagat mai har ko kabhoo naahi sambhaaraa.
God’s Name is the most immaculate thing in the world, and yet you have never enshrined it within you,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹੀ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਕਦੇ ਸਾਂਭ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਜਗ ਬੰਦਨ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਤੁਹਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੩॥
naanak saran pari-o jag bandan raakho birad tuhaaraa. ||2||3||
O’ God, Nanak has entered Your refuge, and the entire world bows down before You; please save me and honor Your own tradition. ||2||3||
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਨਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਰੀਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ॥੨॥੩॥

ਦਰਸਨ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨੀਤ ॥
darsan pi-aasee dinas raat chitva-o an-din neet.
I am longing for the vision of my beloved God and I always think of Him.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੀ) ਚਿਤਾਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਖੋਲਿ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਪਟ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥
kholiH kapat gur maylee-aa naanak har sang meet. ||1||
O’ Nanak, the Guru opened the doors of my mind, liberated me from the worldly bonds and united me with God, my Friend. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਛੌੜ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਸੁਣਿ ਯਾਰ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਸਜਣ ਇਕ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ॥
sun yaar hamaaray sajan ik kara-o banantee-aa.
Listen to me, O’ my dear friend, I make a supplication before you.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜਣ! ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ) ਇਕ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ!
ਤਿਸੁ ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਉ ਫਿਰਉ ਖੋਜੰਤੀਆ ॥
tis mohan laal pi-aaray ha-o fira-o khojantee-aa.
I am wandering around, searching for that enticing, sweet Beloved-God.
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਦਸਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਿਰੁ ਧਰੀ ਉਤਾਰੇ ਇਕ ਭੋਰੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
tis das pi-aaray sir Dharee utaaray ik bhoree darsan deejai.
Please tell me the whereabouts of my Beloved-God; I would surrender myself to Him if He shows His blessed vision even for an instant.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੀ ਕਣਸੋ ਦਿਓ। ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਦਾ ਸੀਸ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਹਰੇ ਰੱਖ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੀ।
ਨੈਨ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗਾਰੇ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਭੀ ਨਾ ਧੀਰੀਜੈ ॥
nain hamaaray pari-a rang rangaaray ik til bhee naa Dheereejai.
My eyes are so imbued with the love of my Beloved-God that, without seeing Him, I do not have even a moment’s peace.
ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਚੈਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਮੀਨਾ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਜਿਵੈ ਤਿਸੰਤੀਆ ॥
parabh si-o man leenaa ji-o jal meenaa chaatrik jivai tisantee-aa.
My mind is attached to God like a fish to water and like a rain bird thirsty for the raindrop.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਛੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ), ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਪੀਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਗਲੀ ਤਿਖਾ ਬੁਝੰਤੀਆ ॥੧॥
jan naanak gur pooraa paa-i-aa saglee tikhaa bujhantee-aa. ||1||
Devotee Nanak has realized the Perfect Guru and all his thirst for the blessed vision of God is quenched.||1||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਤੇਹ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ॥੧॥
ਯਾਰ ਵੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਹਭੇ ਸਖੀਆ ਮੂ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜੇਹੀਆ ॥
yaar vay pari-a habhay sakhee-aa moo kahee na jayhee-aa.
O’ my friend, all these loving companions are Beloved God’s soul-brides; I cannot compare myself to any of them.
ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀ ਸੱਜਣ! ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ (ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ) ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕਿਸੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਯਾਰ ਵੇ ਹਿਕਿ ਡੂੰ ਹਿਕ ਚਾੜੈ ਹਉ ਕਿਸੁ ਚਿਤੇਹੀਆ ॥
yaar vay hik dooN hik chaarhai ha-o kis chitayhee-aa.
O’ my friend, each one is more beautiful and virtuous than the other; I do not come close to any of them.
ਇਹ ਇਕ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ (ਸੋਹਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ) ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਂ?
ਹਿਕ ਦੂੰ ਹਿਕਿ ਚਾੜੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
hik dooN hik chaarhay anik pi-aaray nit karday bhog bilaasaa.
Innumerable are the worshippers of God; each of them is more beautiful than the other, and always enjoying the bliss of their union with Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਉਠੰਦਾ ਹਉ ਕਦਿ ਪਾਈ ਗੁਣਤਾਸਾ ॥
tinaa daykh man chaa-o uthandaa ha-o kad paa-ee guntaasaa.
Beholding them, desire wells up in my mind as to when I will also realize God, the treasure of virtues.
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ) ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਕਦੇ ਉਸ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਾਂ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਮੈਡਾ ਲਾਲੁ ਰੀਝਾਇਆ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਮਨੁ ਡੇਂਹੀਆ ॥
jinee maidaa laal reejhaa-i-aa ha-o tis aagai man dayNhee-aa.
I surrender my mind before those who have allured my beloved-God.
(ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ!) ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੁਣਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਮੂ ਦਸਿ ਡਿਖਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਕੇਹੀਆ ॥੨॥
naanak kahai sun bin-o suhaagan moo das dikhaa pir kayhee-aa. ||2||
Nanak says: O’ the fortunate soul-bride, listen to my prayer and tell me how the Husband-God looks like ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਸੋਹਾਗ ਵਾਲੀਏ! ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ, ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਯਾਰ ਵੇ ਪਿਰੁ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨੀਸੀ ਛੰਦਾ ॥
yaar vay pir aapan bhaanaa kichh neesee chhandaa.
O’ my friend, Husband-God follows His own will; He is not dependent on anyone.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ, ਪਤੀ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਛੰਦਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
