ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਗਜੀਵਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਮਨ ਮਾਝਾ ॥
jin ka-o kirpaa karee jagjeevan har ur Dhaari-o man maajhaa.
Those, on whom God, the Life of the world, has shown mercy, have enshrined Him within their hearts and cherished Him in their minds.
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਦਰਿ ਕਾਗਦ ਫਾਰੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੇਖਾ ਸਮਝਾ ॥੪॥੫॥
Dharam raa-ay dar kaagad faaray jan naanak laykhaa samjhaa. ||4||5||
O’ Nanak, the record of their deeds has been erased in the presence of the judge of righteousness and the account of their deeds has been settled. ||4||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਪਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨਿੱਬੜ ਗਿਆ ॥੪॥੫॥

Raag Jaitsree, Fourth Guru:
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਾਈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਨੁ ਚਲਤੌ ਭਇਓ ਅਰੂੜਾ ॥
satsangat saaDh paa-ee vadbhaagee man chaltou bha-i-o aroorhaa.
The mercurial mind of a person, who by great fortune has obtained the holy company of the Guru, has become steady.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ।
ਅਨਹਤ ਧੁਨਿ ਵਾਜਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਵਾਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰ ਰਸਿ ਲੀੜਾ ॥੧॥
anhat Dhun vaajeh nit vaajay har amrit Dhaar ras leerhaa. ||1||
The non stop divine music ever vibrates within him and he becomes satiated by drinking from the stream of the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਰੌ ਨਾਲ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਸਦਾ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ (ਪੀ ਪੀ ਕੇ) ਉਹ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੂੜਾ ॥
mayray man jap raam naam har roorhaa.
O’ my mind, meditate on the Name of beauteous God.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਦਾ) ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਲਾਇ ਝਪੀੜਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mayrai man tan pareet lagaa-ee satgur har mili-o laa-ay jhapeerhaa. rahaa-o.
My true Guru has imbued my mind and heart with such love for God as if He has lovingly embraced me. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੱਫੀ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਾਕਤ ਬੰਧ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਸੰਚਹਿ ਲਾਇ ਜਕੀੜਾ ॥
saakat banDh bha-ay hai maa-i-aa bikh saNcheh laa-ay jakeerhaa.
The faithless cynics remain entangled in the love for Maya; they remain actively engaged in gathering Maya, a poison for their spiritual life.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਲਾ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ) ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੀ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਅਰਥਿ ਖਰਚਿ ਨਹ ਸਾਕਹਿ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਸਹਹਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਪੀੜਾ ॥੨॥
har kai arath kharach nah saakeh jamkaal saheh sir peerhaa. ||2||
They cannot use Maya to realize God; therefore, they endure the pain of spiritual deterioration and fear of death. ||2||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ, ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਹਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਅਰਥਿ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਬਹੁ ਸਰਧਾ ਲਾਇ ਮੁਖਿ ਧੂੜਾ ॥
jin har arath sareer lagaa-i-aa gur saaDhoo baho sarDhaa laa-ay mukh Dhoorhaa.
Those who have humbly and faithfully followed the Guru’s teachings and have dedicated themselves to God’s devotional worship,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਗਾ ਮਨਿ ਗੂੜਾ ॥੩॥
halat palat har sobhaa paavahi har rang lagaa man goorhaa. ||3||
their minds become imbued with intense love for God and they receive glory both here and hereafter. ||3||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਜਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਮ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਕੀੜਾ ॥
har har mayl mayl jan saaDhoo ham saaDh janaa kaa keerhaa.
O’ God, unite me with the Guru; I am just a humble servant of the devotees of the Guru.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ, ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਮਾਣਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਪਗ ਸਾਧ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਪਾਖਾਣੁ ਹਰਿਓ ਮਨੁ ਮੂੜਾ ॥੪॥੬॥
jan naanak pareet lagee pag saaDh gur mil saaDhoo paakhaan hari-o man moorhaa. ||4||6||
O’ Nanak, he who is imbued with the love for the Guru, by following his teachings, that person’s stone-like dry and foolish mind spiritually rejuvenates. ||4||6||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਭਿੱਜ ਮਨ ਹਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੬॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
har har simrahu agam apaaraa.
Always remember the unfathomable and infinite God,
ਉਸ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
jis simrat dukh mitai hamaaraa.
by remembering whom all our sorrows end.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
har har satgur purakh milaavhu gur mili-ai sukh ho-ee raam. ||1||
O’ God, cause us to meet the great true Guru; celestial peace is attained upon meeting the Guru. ||1||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ। ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਮੀਤ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
har gun gaavhu meet hamaaray.
O’ my friends, sing praises of God.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ l
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਖਹੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
har har naam rakhahu ur Dhaaray.
Keep God’s Name enshrined in your heart.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖੋ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
har har amrit bachan sunavhu gur mili-ai pargat ho-ee raam. ||2||
Recite the ambrosial words of God’s praises to your mind; God’s presence in the heart is revealed by meeting and following the Guru’s teachings. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੋਲ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਕਰੋ। ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਧੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾ ॥
maDhusoodan har maaDho paraanaa.
O’ God, the slayer of demons, the master of the goddess of wealth and the support of life,
ਹੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਰੇ !
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਨਾ ॥
mayrai man tan amrit meeth lagaanaa.
the ambrosial nectar of Your Name is pleasing to my mind and heart.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
har har da-i-aa karahu gur maylhu purakh niranjan so-ee raam. ||3||
O’ God, bestow mercy and unite me with the Guru, who alone is free from the influence of Maya, the worldly riches, and power. ||3||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
har har naam sadaa sukh-daata.
The Name of God is forever the giver of celestial peace.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
har kai rang mayraa man raataa.
My mind is imbued with the love of God.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥
har har mahaa purakh gur maylhu gur naanak naam sukh ho-ee raam. ||4||1||7||
O’ God, lead me to meet with the Guru, the supreme being; Nanak says, O’ Guru, spiritual is received by attuning to Naam blessed by you. ||4||1||7||
ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇ; ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ! ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥

Always remember God with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
gurmukh naam sadaa lai laahaa.
Follow the Guru’s teachings and always keep earning the reward of Naam.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
har har har har bhagat darirhaavahu har har naam omaahaa raam. ||1||
Firmly implant the devotional worship of God in your heart; mind becomes blissful by remembering God’s Name. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਵੋ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਧਿਆਹਾ ॥
har har naam da-i-aal Dhi-aahaa.
Meditate on the Name of the merciful God with loving devotion.
ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਾ ॥
har kai rang sadaa gun gaahaa.
Imbued with God’s love, always keep singing His praises.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਘੂਮਰਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
har har har jas ghoomar paavhu mil satsang omaahaa raam. ||2||
Let singing praises of God be your dance of joy; join the holy congregation and enjoy bliss. ||2||
ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਚ ਹੈ, ਇਹ) ਨਾਚ ਨੱਚੋ। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਕਰੋ ॥੨॥
ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਹਾ ॥
aa-o sakhee har mayl milaahaa.
O’ my friends, come and let us meet with God’s devotees,
