Raag Jaitsree, Fourth Guru:
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਕਛੂਅ ਨ ਜਾਨਹ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਇਆਨਾ ॥
ham baarik kachhoo-a na jaanah gat mit tayray moorakh mugaDh i-aanaa.
O’ God, I am Your foolish ignorant child, and I don’t know about Your status and extent.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੂਰਖ, ਬੇਸਮਝ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਞਣਾ ਬਾਲਕ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਜੈ ਮੁਗਧੁ ਸਿਆਨਾ ॥੧॥
har kirpaa Dhaar deejai mat ootam kar leejai mugaDh si-aanaa. ||1||
Please bestow mercy and bless me withsublime intellect; I am ignorant, please give me wisdom.||1||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਆਲਸੀਆ ਉਘਲਾਨਾ ॥
mayraa man aalsee-aa ughlaanaa.
My lazy mind had become drowsy in worldly affairs.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਸਤ ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ) ਸੌਂ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਓ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕਪਟ ਖੁਲਾਨਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har aan milaa-i-o gur saaDhoo mil saaDhoo kapat khulaanaa. rahaa-o.
But, God made me meet the Guru; upon meeting the Guru and following his teachings, my mind has now become alert as if its soiritual shutters have opened. ||pause||
ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ) ਕਿਵਾੜ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥
gur khin khin pareet lagaavahu mayrai hee-arai mayray pareetam naam paraanaa.
O’ Guru, inculcate in me such a love for God, that I may remember Him at every moment and the Name of my beloved God may become my breath of life.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਹ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਬਣ ਜਾਏ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜਿਉ ਅਮਲੀ ਅਮਲਿ ਲੁਭਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
bin naavai mar jaa-ee-ai mayray thaakur ji-o amlee amal lubhaanaa. ||2||
O’ my God, just as an intoxicated addict is happy but restless without his drug, similarly I feel spiritually dead without meditating on Naam.||2||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਨਸ਼ਈਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਘਬਰਾ ਉਠਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿੰਦ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ ਤਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਭਾਗ ਪੁਰਾਨਾ ॥
jin man pareet lagee har kayree tin Dhur bhaag puraanaa.
Those who are imbued with the love of God, it must be due to their pre-ordained destiny.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਿਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਹਮ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੇਵਹ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
tin ham charan sarayveh khin khin jin har meeth lagaanaa. ||3||
Each and every instant, I humbly serve those, to whom God is pleasing. ||3||
ਹਰ ਮੁਹਤ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਰ ਪੂਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮੇਰੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਬਿਛੁਰਿਆ ਚਿਰੀ ਮਿਲਾਨਾ ॥
har har kirpaa Dhaaree mayrai thaakur jan bichhuri-aa chiree milaanaa.
My master-God showered mercy and united me, His long separated devotee, with Him.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
Dhan Dhan satgur jin naam drirh-aa-i-aa jan naanak tis kurbaanaa. ||4||3||
Blessed is the true Guru who implanted Naam in my heart. Devotee Nanak isforever dedicated to Him. ||4||3||
ਧੰਨ ਹਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥

Raag Jaitsree, Fourth Guru:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਵਡ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਫਲ ਲਾਗਿਬਾ ॥
satgur saajan purakh vad paa-i-aa har rasak rasak fal laagibaa.
One who meets and follows the teachings of the great and friendly true Guru,starts enjoying the praise of God with great relish.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ, ਸੱਜਣ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੜੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਫਲ ਖਾਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਇਆ ਭੁਇਅੰਗ ਗ੍ਰਸਿਓ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਬਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਢਿਬਾ ॥੧॥
maa-i-aa bhu-i-ang garsi-o hai paraanee gur bachnee bis har kaadhibaa. ||1||
Ordinarily, one remains in the grip of the snake like Maya, the worldly riches; but God saves him from its poisonous effect when he follows the Guru’s words.||1||
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਸਪਣੀ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਨਾਲਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਲਾਗਿਬਾ ॥
mayraa man raam naam ras laagibaa.
My mind is attuned to the sublime nectar of God’s Name.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਗੁਰ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਬਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har kee-ay patit pavitar mil saaDh gur har naamai har ras chaakhibaa. rahaa-o.
God embellishes even those sinners who, upon meeting the Guru, meditate on God’s Name and enjoy singing His praises. ||pause||
ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ),ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰਸ ਚੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਸੁੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਡਭਾਗ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਲਿਵ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਿਬਾ ॥
Dhan Dhan vadbhaag mili-o gur saaDhoo mil saaDhoo liv unman laagibaa.
Blessed is the one who, by good destiny, meets the saint-Guru; his mind achieves the supreme spiritual status by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਬਾ ॥੨॥
tarisnaa agan bujhee saaNt paa-ee har nirmal nirmal gun gaa-ibaa. ||2||
As he sings the immaculate praises of God, the fire of worldly desire within him is extinguished and he attains celestial peace. ||2||
(ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ) ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਭਾਗ ਖੀਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਰਸੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਬਾ ॥
tin kay bhaag kheen Dhur paa-ay jin satgur daras na paa-ibaa.
Those who do not get the opportunity to meet the true Guru, have their misfortune preordained.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਨਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਗ ਹਿਰ ਗਏ, ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਭਾਗ-ਹੀਨਤਾ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ।
ਤੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਵਹਿ ਗ੍ਰਭ ਜੋਨੀ ਸਭੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨ ਜਾਇਬਾ ॥੩॥
tay doojai bhaa-ay paveh garabh jonee sabh birthaa janam tin jaa-ibaa. ||3||
In the love of duality (things other than God), their life goes in vain and they are consigned to cycle of birth and death. ||3||
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਬਿਮਲ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵਹ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਇਬਾ ॥
har dayh bimal mat gur saaDh pag sayvah ham har meeth lagaa-ibaa.
O’ God, bless us with such pure intellect that we may follow the Guru’s teachings and You become pleasing to us.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਅੱਛ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹੀਏ, ਤੇ ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਰਹੇਂ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਰੇਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਮਾਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਬਾ ॥੪॥੪॥
jan naanak rayn saaDh pag maagai har ho-ay da-i-aal divaa-ibaa. ||4||4||
Devotee Nanak begs for the most humble service of the Guru; God blesses this humble service of the Guru onto whom He bestows His mercy.||4||4||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥

Raag Jaitsree, Fourth Guru:
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਬਸਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਮਾਤ ਕੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਂਝਾ ॥
jin har hirdai naam na basi-o tin maat keejai har baaNjhaa.
O’ God, those in whose mind Your Name is not enshrined, their mothers should have been sterile.
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਂਝ ਹੋ ਜਾਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਸੁੰਞੀ ਦੇਹ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਓਇ ਖਪਿ ਖਪਿ ਮੁਏ ਕਰਾਂਝਾ ॥੧॥
tin sunjee dayh fireh bin naavai o-ay khap khap mu-ay karaaNjhaa. ||1||
Devoid of Naam, they wander around lonely; wailing and grieving, they spiritually deteriorate.||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੰਞਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੇ ਹੀ ਤੁਰੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ, ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰੁਝ ਕ੍ਰੁਝ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਝਾ ॥
mayray man jap raam naam har maajhaa.
O’ my mind, meditate on the Name of God, who dwells within you.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਮਨੁ ਸਮਝਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har kirpaal kirpaa parabh Dhaaree gur gi-aan dee-o man samjhaa. rahaa-o.
One on whom the merciful God bestowed mercy, the Guru blessed him withdivine wisdom and his mind understood the importance of Naam.||pause||
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਕਦਰ ਸਮਝ ਗਿਆ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਪਦੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਾਝਾ ॥
har keerat kaljug pad ootam har paa-ee-ai satgur maajhaa.
In Kalyug, the age of strife, singing praises of God is the most sublime deed; God is realized only by following the teachings of the true Guru.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਝਾ ॥੨॥
ha-o balihaaree satgur apunay jin gupat naam pargaajhaa. ||2||
I am dedicated to my true Guru, who revealed Naam hidden within me. ||2||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਗੁੱਝੇ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨॥
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ਗਵਾਝਾ ॥
darsan saaDh mili-o vadbhaagee sabh kilbikh ga-ay gavaajhaa.
One who, by great fortune, meets the Guru and follows his teachings, all his sins are erased.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡ ਦਾਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਬਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਝਾ ॥੩॥
satgur saahu paa-i-aa vad daanaa har kee-ay baho gun saajhaa. ||3||
One who met and followed the teachings of the most sagacious and wise Guru, was blessed with many of the God’s virtues.||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝੀਵਾਲ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩॥
