ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
har har kirpaa Dhaar gur maylhu gur mili-ai har omaahaa raam. ||3||
O’ God, bestow mercy and lead us to meet the Guru, because on meeting the Guru, bliss wells up in the mind. ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਜਸੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥
kar keerat jas agam athaahaa.
Always admire and sing the praises of that unfathomable and infinite God.
ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਜਸ ਕਰੋ l
ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਾਵਾਹਾ ॥
khin khin raam naam gaavaahaa.
At each and every moment, remember God’s Name with loving devotion.
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਮੋ ਕਉ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਦਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੨॥੮॥
mo ka-o Dhaar kirpaa milee-ai gur daatay har naanak bhagat omaahaa raam. ||4||2||8||
Nanak says: O’ Guru, the giver of Naam, bestow mercy and meet me; so that a yearning for God’s devotional worship may arise in me. ||4||2||8||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ, ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੮॥

Raag Jaitsree, Fourth Guru:
ਰਸਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਲੁ ਸਲਾਹਾ ॥
ras ras raam rasaal salaahaa.
We sing praises of God, the treasure of bliss with love and affection.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸੀਂ ਬੜੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਰਸੀਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਭੀਨਾ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
man raam naam bheenaa lai laahaa.
Our mind is earning the reward of being immersed in God’s Name.
ਸਾਡਾ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ (ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
khin khin bhagat karah din raatee gurmat bhagat omaahaa raam. ||1||
At each and every moment of day and night, we worship God; through the Guru’s teachings, the zeal for God’s worship wells up in us. ||1||
ਅਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਬਣ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਜਪਾਹਾ ॥
har har gun govind japaahaa.
We are singing praises of God, the Master of the universe.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਸੀਂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
man tan jeet sabad lai laahaa.
By controlling our mind and body, we earn the reward of following the Guru’s word.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸ਼ਬਦ (ਦਾ) ਲਾਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਵਸਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਓਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
gurmat panch doot vas aavahi man tan har omaahaa raam. ||2||
Through the Guru’s teachings, the five demons (vices) are overpowered and zeal for remembering God arises in our mind and heart. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲਿਆਂ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਹਾ ॥
naam ratan har naam japaahaa.
We are meditating on the jewel like precious Name of God.
ਅਸੀਂ ਰਤਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਸਦਾ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
har gun gaa-ay sadaa lai laahaa.
We are earning the everlasting reward of singing God’s praises.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਧੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
deen da-i-aal kirpaa kar maaDho har har naam omaahaa raam. ||3||
O’ merciful God of the meek and the Master of Maya, bestow mercy so that our mind may always have a craving to meditate on Your Name. ||3||
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ ॥੩॥
ਜਪਿ ਜਗਦੀਸੁ ਜਪਉ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਾ ॥
jap jagdees japa-o man maahaa.
O’ God, the Master of the universe, I always remember You in my mind.
ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ- ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥੁ ਜਗਿ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
har har jagannaath jag laahaa.
O’ God, the Master of the universe, meditating on You is real benefit of coming into this world.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਅਸਲ) ਲਾਭ ਹੈ,
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਡੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤਿ ਓਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੩॥੯॥
Dhan Dhan vaday thaakur parabh mayray jap naanak bhagat omaahaa raam. ||4||3||9||
Nanak says, O’ my blessed and supreme Master-God! bless me so that by meditating on You, a keen desire to worship You may keep arising. ||4||3||9||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੯॥

Raag Jaitsree, Fourth Guru:
ਆਪੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਾਹਾ ॥
aapay jogee jugat jugaahaa.
Throughout the ages, God Himself is the Yogi and the way of Yoga.
ਸਭ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋਗ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
aapay nirbha-o taarhee laahaa.
He Himself fearlessly sits in a meditative trance
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਆਪੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
aapay hee aap aap vartai aapay naam omaahaa raam. ||1||
God Himself pervades everywhere and Himself inspires us to remember Naam. ||1||
ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਆਪੇ ਦੀਪ ਲੋਅ ਦੀਪਾਹਾ ॥
aapay deep lo-a deepaahaa.
God Himself pervades in all islands all worlds and He the spiritual illumination in these.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਜ਼ੀਰੇ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਮੁੰਦੁ ਮਥਾਹਾ ॥
aapay satgur samund mathaahaa.
God Himself is the true Guru; He Himself is the ocean of divine words which He Himself reflects on.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਸ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ) ਰਿੜਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਮਥਿ ਮਥਿ ਤਤੁ ਕਢਾਏ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
aapay math math tat kadhaa-ay jap naam ratan omaahaa raam. ||2||
By reflecting on the divine words, He Himself arranges to bring out the essence of the divine words; He inspires people for the devotional worship so they meditate on the jewel like precious Naam. ||2||
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਿੜਕ ਰਿੜਕ (ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਿਚਾਰ) ਕੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਲਭਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਰਤਨ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ) ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ)।॥੨॥
ਸਖੀ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਹਾ ॥
sakhee milhu mil gun gaavaahaa.
O’ my companions, let us join together and sing God’s praises.
ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਓ! ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਵੇ, ਆਓ, ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੀਏ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ॥
gurmukh naam japahu har laahaa.
Follow the Guru’s teachings and meditate on God’s Name; this alone is the reward of human life.
ਹੇ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਓ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਲਾਭ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੀ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
har har bhagat darirh-ee man bhaa-ee har har naam omaahaa raam. ||3||
God’s Name brings out the quest for meditation in the one, whom the devotional worship of God is pleasing and who has firmly implanted it in his mind. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕੀ ਬਿਠਾ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ) ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਪੇ ਵਡ ਦਾਣਾ ਵਡ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
aapay vad daanaa vad saahaa.
O’ my friend, God Himself is the most sagacious and the wisest merchant of Naam,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬੜਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ॥
gurmukh poonjee naam visaahaa.
follow the Guru’s teachings and amass the wealth of Naam.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੦॥
har har daat karahu parabh bhaavai gun naanak naam omaahaa raam. ||4||4||10||
Nanak says, O’ God, if it pleases you, bless me with such a gift so that Your virtues become pleasing to me and the longing for remembering Naam wells up within me. ||4||4||10||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ! ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਐਸੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਗਣ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ॥੪॥੪॥੧੦॥

By meeting the Guru’s followers in the holy congregation,
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ,
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਸਾਹਾ ॥
poonjee naam gurmukh vaysaahaa.
follow the Guru’s teachings and amass the wealth of Naam.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ l
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
har har kirpaa Dhaar maDhusoodan mil satsang omaahaa raam. ||1||
O’ God, the destroyer of demons, bestow mercy so that yearning for remembering You in the holy congregation may well up within us. ||1||
ਹੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰੀ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਬਾਣੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਸੁਣਾਹਾ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਹਾ ॥
har gun banee sarvan sunaahaa. kar kirpaa satguroo milaahaa.
O’ God, unite us with the true Guru so that we may listen with our ears the divine words of praises of Your virtues.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੀਏ,
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਗੁਣ ਬੋਲਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਪਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
gun gaavah gun bolah banee har gun jap omaahaa raam. ||2||
Through the divine words, we may sing your praises and talk about Your virtues; longing for Your worship may well up in us by remembering Your virtues. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੀਏ, ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰੀਏ। ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨॥
ਸਭਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਵਰਤ ਜਗ ਪੁੰਨ ਤੋੁਲਾਹਾ ॥
sabh tirath varat jag punn tolaahaa.
If total merits of bathing at all the holy places, observing fasts, performing special ritual prayers and giving charities are assessed,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰਥ (-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ), ਵਰਤ, ਜੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੰਨ (ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੇਕ ਕੰਮ) (ਇਕੱਠੇ ਰਲਾ ਕੇ) ਤੋਲੀਏ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਪੁਜਹਿ ਪੁਜਾਹਾ ॥
har har naam na pujeh pujaahaa.
they do not measure up to the merits of meditating on God’s Name.
ਇਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਅੱਪੜ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਤੋਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਪਿ ਓੁਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
har har atul tol at bhaaree gurmat jap omaahaa raam. ||3||
The merit of remembering God is so valuable that it is inestimable; meditation through the Guru’s teachings causes more craving for meditation. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਤੋਲਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰਾ ਤੋਲ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ) ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਭਿ ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਹਾ ॥
sabh karam Dharam har naam japaahaa.
All the virtuous deeds and righteousness are in remembering God.
ਸਾਰੇ ਨੇਕ ਅਮਲ ਤੇ ਸਚਾਈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮੈਲੁ ਪਾਪ ਧੋਵਾਹਾ ॥
kilvikh mail paap Dhovaahaa.
It washes away the dirt of sins and misdeeds.
ਇਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਧੋ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਹੁ ਜਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਓਮਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੧॥
deen da-i-aal hohu jan oopar dayh naanak naam omaahaa raam. ||4||5||11||
O’ God, be merciful to Your humble devotees and bestow upon Nanak, the inspiration for meditation on Naam. ||4||5||11||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ, ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੧॥
