ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਹੁ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
nimakh nimakh tum hee partipaalahu ham baarik tumray Dhaaray. ||1||
It is You who sustain us at every moment and we, the children, survive on Your support. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਸਾਡੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਜੀਊਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਜਿਹਵਾ ਏਕ ਕਵਨ ਗੁਨ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
jihvaa ayk kavan gun kahee-ai.
we have but one tongue; which of Your virtues we may describe?
ਇਕ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਗੁਣ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਏ?
ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇਰੋ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
baysumaar bay-ant su-aamee tayro ant na kin hee lahee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ infinite Master-God, Your virtues are unaccountable and nobody can find the limit of Your virtues. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਖੰਡਹੁ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿਧੀ ਸਮਝਾਵਹੁ ॥
kot paraaDh hamaaray khandahu anik biDhee samjhaavhu.
O’ God, You destroy millions of our sins and make us understand about righteous living in so many ways.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ (ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ) ਸਮਝਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਮ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅਲਪ ਮਤਿ ਥੋਰੀ ਤੁਮ ਆਪਨ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਰਖਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥
ham agi-aan alap mat thoree tum aapan birad rakhaavahu. ||2||
We are ignorant with little intellect, but You maintain Your primal tradition of love for Your devotees. ||2||
ਅਸੀਂ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਾਂ,ਸਾਡੀ ਅਕਲ ਥੋੜੀ ਹੈ ਹੋਛੀ ਹੈ।ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਆਸਾ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਸਜਨ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥
tumree saran tumaaree aasaa tum hee sajan suhaylay.
O’ God, we have come to Your refuge; our only hope is in You; You are our friend and the bestower of spiritual peace.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਆਸਰੇ-ਪਰਨੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ (ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਾਡਾ ਸੱਜਣ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰ ਕੇ ਗੋਲੇ ॥੩॥੧੨॥
raakho raakhanhaar da-i-aalaa naanak ghar kay golay. ||3||12||
Nanak says, O’ the merciful Master and Savior, save us, we are Your own servants.||3||12||
ਹੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗੇ! ਸਾਡੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥੧੨॥

Raag Dhanasri, Fifth Guru:
ਪੂਜਾ ਵਰਤ ਤਿਲਕ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ਪੁੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਬਹੁ ਦੈਨ ॥
poojaa varat tilak isnaanaa punn daan baho dain.
People perform worship, observe fasts, apply tilak (mark) on the forehead, bathe at pilgrimage places, give much to charity;
ਲੋਕ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਬੜੇ ਦਾਨ-ਪੁੰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਕਹੂੰ ਨ ਭੀਜੈ ਸੰਜਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਮੀਠੇ ਬੈਨ ॥੧॥
kahoo-aN na bheejai sanjam su-aamee boleh meethay bain. ||1||
they utter sweet words, the Master-God is not pleased by any such rituals. ||1||
ਮਿੱਠੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਅਜੇਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨ ਚੈਨ ॥
parabh jee ko naam japat man chain.
It is only by meditating on God’s Name that the mind gets pacified.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ!
ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲੈਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
baho parkaar khojeh sabh taa ka-o bikham na jaa-ee lain. ||1|| rahaa-o.
People search God in many ways but without meditation, it is not only difficult but impossible to realize Him. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ, ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕੀਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਭ੍ਰਮਨ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਕਰਿ ਉਰਧ ਤਾਪ ਲੈ ਗੈਨ ॥
jaap taap bharman basuDhaa kar uraDh taap lai gain.
By performing worships, doing penances, roaming around the earth, standing upside down, doing breathing exercises,
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਲਾ ਕੇ, ਸਿਰ-ਭਾਰ ਤਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦਸਮ ਦੁਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ,
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਹ ਪਤੀਆਨੋ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਜੈਨ ॥੨॥
ih biDh nah patee-aano thaakur jog jugat kar jain. ||2||
and by following the path of Yogis and Jains; God is not pleased through any of these means. ||2||
ਜੋਗ-ਮਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਜੈਨ-ਮਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੀ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤੀਜਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਓ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪੈਨ ॥
amrit naam nirmolak har jas tin paa-i-o jis kirpain.
The ambrosial Naam and God’s praises are priceless; he alone attains them, whom God blesses with His Mercy.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹਨ। ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭੇਟੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਜਨ ਰੈਨ ॥੩॥੧੩॥
saaDhsang rang parabh bhaytay naanak sukh jan rain. ||3||13||
O’ Nanak, one who has realized God by lovingly participating in the company of saintly persons, his life passes in peace. ||3||13||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਤ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੧੩॥

ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਕਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥
banDhan tay chhutkaavai parabhoo milaavai har har naam sunaavai.
I am looking for someone who may liberate me from the worldly bonds, unite me with God, recite to me God’s Name,
ਕੋਈਜਣਾ ਜੋਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ ਲਏ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਕਰੇ,
ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
asthir karay nihchal ih manoo-aa bahur na kathoo Dhaavai. ||1||
and stabilize this mind, so that it no longer wanders around? ||1||
ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਡੋਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਚਲਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਲਏ, ਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਫਿਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਨਾਂ ਭਟਕੇ?(
ਹੈ ਕੋਊ ਐਸੋ ਹਮਰਾ ਮੀਤੁ ॥
hai ko-oo aiso hamraa meet.
Do I have any such friend?
ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਐਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਜਣ ਹੈ?
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਹੀਉ ਦੇਉ ਅਰਪਉ ਅਪਨੋ ਚੀਤੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal samagree jee-o hee-o day-o arpa-o apno cheet. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I would give him all my worldly possessions, my soul and my heart and I would surrender my mind to him. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ, ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ, ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਲ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਤਨ ਪਰ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਇਨ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
par Dhan par tan par kee nindaa in si-o pareet na laagai.
I may never fall in love with other’s wealth, other’s women and slander of others.
ਪਰਾਇਆ ਧਨ, ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਹ ਬਣੇ।
ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗੁ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਭਾਖਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੨॥
santeh sang sant sambhaakhan har keertan man jaagai. ||2||
I wish that I may associate with the pious persons, I may converse with the saintly people and my mind may remain alert in singing God’s praises. ||2||
ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਕਰਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬਚਨ-ਬਿਲਾਸ ਰਹੇ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹੇ॥੨॥
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
gun niDhaan da-i-aal purakh parabh sarab sookh da-i-aalaa.
O’ the treasure of virtues and merciful God, O’ all pervading and the bestower of all comforts and spiritual peace.
ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ!
ਮਾਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਿਉ ਮਾਤਾ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੩॥੧੪॥
maagai daan naam tayro naanak ji-o maataa baal gupaalaa. ||3||14||
O’ the sustainer of the world, Just as children ask for food from their mother, Nanak asks for the charity of Your Name. ||3||14||
ਹੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ)ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ॥੩॥੧੪॥

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥
har har leenay sant ubaar.
God has always been saving His saints.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har kay daas kee chitvai buri-aa-ee tis hee ka-o fir maar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God spiritually destroys that person who thinks ill of His devotee. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਨ ਕਾ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਆ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਭਾਗੇ ਹਾਰਿ ॥
jan kaa aap sahaa-ee ho-aa nindak bhaagay haar.
God Himself becomes the supporter of His devotee; suffering defeat, the slanderers run away.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਆਪ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਿੰਦਕ (ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ) ਹਾਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਊਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੂਏ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਨ ਮੰਝਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
bharmat bharmat oohaaN hee moo-ay baahurh garihi na manjhaar. ||1|
Wandering around slandering, they spiritually deteriorate and keep going through birth after birth. ||1||
ਉਹਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਅਪਾਰਿ ॥
naanak saran pari-o dukh bhanjan gun gaavai sadaa apaar.
O’ Nanak, one who seeks the refuge of God, the destroyer of sorrows; he always sings praises of the infinite God.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਆ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੧੫॥
nindak kaa mukh kaalaa ho-aa deen dunee-aa kai darbaar. ||2||15||
But his slanderers is disgraced in this world and the world beyond. ||2||15||
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਨ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ)ਵਿਚ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੫॥

ਅਬ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਿਆ ॥
ab har raakhanhaar chitaari-aa.
In this life, those who started remembering God, the savior from sins,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕੀਏ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਗਲਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
patit puneet kee-ay khin bheetar saglaa rog bidaari-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In an instant, God blessed those sinners with immaculate life and destroyed all their afflictions. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਰੋਗ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੋਸਟਿ ਭਈ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਮਿ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥
gosat bha-ee saaDh kai sangam kaam kroDh lobh maari-aa.
God eradicated the lust, anger and greed of those, who joined the holy congregation and conversed with the pious people,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਇਆ।
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਗਲੇ ਤਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
simar simar pooran naaraa-in sangee saglay taari-aa. ||1||
By always remembering the all pervading God, they helped their companions to swim across the worldly ocean of vices. ||1||
ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਭੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਏ ॥੧॥
