Dhanaasree mehlaa 4.
Raag Dhanasri, Fourth Guru:
ਗੁਨ ਕਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਇਵ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
gun kaho har lahu kar sayvaa satgur iv har har naam Dhi-aa-ee.
Realize God be remembering His virtues through the true Guru’s teachings and in this way keep meditating on God’s Name;
ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੋ; ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ;
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
har dargeh bhaaveh fir janam na aavahi har har har jot samaa-ee. ||1||
you would be approved in God’s presence, you would not go through the cycles of birth and death and you would merge in God’s supreme light.||1||
ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਸੰਦ ਆ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ, ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ (ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਂਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਲੀਨ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ਹੋਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖੀ ॥
jap man naam haree hohi sarab sukhee.
O’ my mind, meditate on God’s Name, you would dwell in celestial peace.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਊਚ ਸਭਨਾ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿ ਛਡਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har jas ooch sabhnaa tay oopar har har har sayv chhadaa-ee. rahaa-o.
Sublime is singing the praises of God, this deed is the highest of all; Meditation on God’s Name gets one liberated from all kinds of sins.||pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਬੜਾ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ (ਸਭ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਤਬ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
har kirpaa niDh keenee gur bhagat har deenee tab har si-o pareet ban aa-ee.
One on whom God, the treasure of kindness showed mercy, the Guru blessed him with God’s worship and he got imbued with God’s love.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।
ਬਹੁ ਚਿੰਤ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੨॥੨॥੮॥
baho chint visaaree har naam ur Dhaaree naanak har bha-ay hai sakhaa-ee. ||2||2||8||
O’ Nanak, one who enshrined God’s Name in the mind, became free of all anxiety and God became his companion.||2||2||8||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋਰ) ਬਹੁਤੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਭੁਲਾ ਲਈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ-ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ॥੨॥੨॥੮॥

ਹਰਿ ਪੜੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਉ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥
har parh har likh har jap har gaa-o har bha-ojal paar utaaree.
O’ my friend, read and write about God’s virtues, meditate on God’s Name and sing His praises; God would ferry you across the dreadful worldly ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਰ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
ਮਨਿ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਇ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਤੁਸਟੁ ਇਵ ਭਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
man bachan ridai Dhi-aa-ay har ho-ay santusat iv bhan har naam muraaree. |1||
Be satiated by meditating on God’s Name in your mind, with your tongue and from your heart; this is how you should meditate God’s Name.||1||
ਮਨ ਨਾਲ, ਬਚਨ ਨਾਲ, ਭਾਵ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ, ਚਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਜਾਓ; ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ ॥੧॥
ਮਨਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੀਤ ॥
man japee-ai har jagdees. mil sangat saaDhoo meet.
O’ my friend, by joining the holy congregation, we should always meditate in our mind on God, the master of the universe.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sadaa anand hovai din raatee har keerat kar banvaaree. rahaa-o.
By singing God’s praises, a state of bliss prevails forever. ||pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ,ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤਬ ਭਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਓ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
har har karee darisat tab bha-i-o man udam har har naam japi-o gat bha-ee hamaaree.
When God bestowed His glance of grace, then inspiration arose in my mind and I attained the supreme spiritual status by meditating on His Name,
ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਦਮ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅਸਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਤੇ, ਸਾਡੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਇ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੩॥੯॥
jan naanak kee pat raakh mayray su-aamee har aa-ay pari-o hai saran tumaaree. ||2||3||9||
O’ my Master-God, save the honor of the devotee Nanak; he has come and sought Your shelter. ||2||3||9||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ, ਤੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ॥੨॥੩॥੯॥

ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਸਿਧ ਬੁਧ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਕੋਟਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸਭਿ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
cha-oraaseeh siDh buDh taytees kot mun jan sabh chaaheh har jee-o tayro naa-o.
O’ God, the eighty-four siddhas, the men of divine wisdom, millions of angles and innumerable sages, all long for Your Name.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੋਗ-ਮਤ ਦੇ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਆਗੂ, ਮਹਾਤਮਾ ਬੁਧ ਵਰਗੇ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ, ਤੇਤੀ ਕ੍ਰੋੜ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਮੁਨੀ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ) ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਭਾਉ ॥੧॥
gur parsaad ko virlaa paavai jin ka-o lilaat likhi-aa Dhur bhaa-o. ||1||
By the Guru’s Grace, a rare person receives it; only those receive this gift of God’s Name who are pre-ordained for loving devotion. ||1||
ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਊਤਮ ਕਾਮ ॥
jap man raamai naam har jas ootam kaam.
O’ my mind, meditate on God’s Name because singing God’s praises is the most exalted activity.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸੁਣਹਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo gaavahi suneh tayraa jas su-aamee ha-o tin kai sad balihaarai jaa-o. rahaa-o.
O’ Master-God, I am forever dedicated to those who sing and listen to Your praise. ||pause||
ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਹਉ ਪਾਉ ॥
sarnaagat partipaalak har su-aamee jo tum dayh so-ee ha-o paa-o.
O’ Master-God, the protector and savior of those who seek Your refuge, I receive only that which You bestow upon me.
ਹੇ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਲੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਚਾਉ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੦॥
deen da-i-aal kirpaa kar deejai naanak har simran kaa hai chaa-o. ||2||4||10||
O’ merciful Master of the meek, show mercy and bless Nanak with the gift of Your Name; Nanak longs for meditation on God’s Name.||2||4||10||
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਹ, ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਉ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੦॥

ਸੇਵਕ ਸਿਖ ਪੂਜਣ ਸਭਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
sayvak sikh poojan sabh aavahi sabh gaavahi har har ootam baanee.
All the disciples and devotees of the Guru get together to perform devotional worship of God; they all sing the sublime hymns of God’s praises.
ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੇਵਕਗੁਰੂ-ਦਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਪੂਜਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗਾਵਿਆ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਵੈ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
gaavi-aa suni-aa tin kaa har thaa-ay paavai jin satgur kee aagi-aa sat sat kar maanee. ||1||
God approves the singing and listening of hymns of those, who accept the Guru’s teaching as true and follow it without any question.||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂਦਾ ਗਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਸਹੀ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬੋਲਹੁ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਵਜਲ ਤੀਰਥਿ ॥
bolhu bhaa-ee har keerat har bhavjal tirath.
O’ my brothers, sing God’s praises; He is like a sacred shrine of pilgrimage in this terrifying world-ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ। ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਡਰਾਉਣੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਉਤੇ, ਯਾਤਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਤ ਹੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਜਿਨ ਜਨਹੁ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har dar tin kee ootam baat hai santahu har kathaa jin janhu jaanee. rahaa-o.
O’ Saints, they alone are admired in God’s presence who understand the divine words of His praises. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ!ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚੋਜ ਵਿਡਾਨੀ ॥
aapay gur chaylaa hai aapay aapay har parabh choj vidaanee.
God Himself is the Guru and Himself the disciple; God, the Master, Himself performs His wondrous plays.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਚਰਜ ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਸੀ ਅਵਰ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਓਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥
jan naanak aap milaa-ay so-ee har milsee avar sabh ti-aag ohaa har bhaanee. ||2||5||11||
O’ Nanak, only that person unites with God, whom He Himself unites; forsake all others and sing His praises because God loves that person who sings His praises||2|5||11||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ-ਪਰਨਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥

Raag Dhanasri, Fourth Guru:
ਇਛਾ ਪੂਰਕੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ ਕਾਮਧੇਨਾ ॥
ichhaa poorak sarab sukh-daata har jaa kai vas hai kaamDhaynaa.
God is the fulfiller of our wishes and the giver of total peace, under whose control is Kaamdhena, the legendary wish-fulfilling cow;
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਹਰੀ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਾਮਨਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ (ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਮਝੀ ਗਈ) ਕਾਮਧੇਨ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਤਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥
so aisaa har Dhi-aa-ee-ai mayray jee-arhay taa sarab sukh paavahi mayray manaa. ||1||
O’ my mind, if you meditate on such a God, you would receive total peace. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਅਜੇਹੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ) ਤਦੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਏਂਗਾ ॥੧॥
