ਮਨ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਾਇ ਬਸਿਓ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰਵਤ ਧਰਾਏ ॥
man kaamnaa tirath jaa-ay basi-o sir karvat Dharaa-ay.
He may desire to go and dwell at sacred places of pilgrimage, and even offer his head for sacrifice;
ਆਪਣੀ ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾ ਵਸੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਆਰਾ ਰਖਾਂਏ l
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੇ ਲਖ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਾਏ ॥੩॥
man kee mail na utrai ih biDh jay lakh jatan karaa-ay. ||3||
but this will not remove the filth of vices of his mind, even though he may make thousands of efforts. ||3||
ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ) ਲੱਖਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੀ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ ॥੩॥
ਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਮਿਨੀ ਹੈਵਰ ਗੈਵਰ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ॥
kanik kaaminee haivar gaivar baho biDh daan daataaraa.
He may give gifts of all sorts – gold, women, horses and elephants.
ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੋਨਾ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਵਧੀਆ ਘੋੜੇ, ਵਧੀਆ ਹਾਥੀ (ਅਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ) ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰੇ,
ਅੰਨ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਹੁ ਅਰਪੇ ਨਹ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੪॥
ann bastar bhoom baho arpay nah milee-ai har du-aaraa. ||4||
he may make offerings of food, clothes and land in abundance, but even this will not lead him to God’s presence. ||4||
ਉਹ ਅਨਾਜ, ਕੱਪੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਘਣੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਖੈਰਾਤ ਕਰੇ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਉਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਜਦਾ ॥੪॥
ਪੂਜਾ ਅਰਚਾ ਬੰਦਨ ਡੰਡਉਤ ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਰਤੁ ਰਹਤਾ ॥
poojaa archaa bandan dand-ut khat karmaa rat rahtaa.
He may remain devoted to worship and adoration, bowing his forehead to the floor, practicing the six religious rituals,
ਬੇਸ਼ਕ ਉਹ ਦੇਵ-ਪੂਜਾ ਵਿਚ, ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਡੰਡਉਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ, ਛੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹੇ,
ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤ ਬੰਧਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿਆ ਨਹ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਇਹ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥੫॥
ha-o ha-o karat banDhan meh pari-aa nah milee-ai ih jugtaa. ||5||
remaining indulged in ego he falls in the bonds of Maya and does not realize God by these practices. ||5||
ਉਹ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਕੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ॥੫॥
ਜੋਗ ਸਿਧ ਆਸਣ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਏ ਭੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
jog siDh aasan cha-oraaseeh ay bhee kar kar rahi-aa.
He practices all the eighty-four postures of Yoga and acquires the supernatural powers of the Siddhas; but he gets tired even by practicing these rituals.
ਜੋਗ-ਮਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਿੱਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਆਸਣ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਆਸਣ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡੀ ਆਰਜਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਗਹਿਆ ॥੬॥
vadee aarjaa fir fir janmai har si-o sang na gahi-aa. ||6||
One might have prolonged one’s life by these methods, but still one is born again and again, and never experiences God’s presence. ||6||
ਉਮਰ ਤਾਂ ਲੰਮੀ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਰਾਜ ਲੀਲਾ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਅਫਾਰਾ ॥
raaj leelaa raajan kee rachnaa kari-aa hukam afaaraa.
He may enjoy princely pleasures, and regal pomp and ceremony, and issue unchallenged commands.
ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਹਾਨਾ ਚੋਜ ਕਰੇ, ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਡੰਬਰਾਂ ਰਚੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਬਦਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਉਮੈ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰੇ।
ਸੇਜ ਸੋਹਨੀ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਚੋਆ ਨਰਕ ਘੋਰ ਕਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੭॥
sayj sohnee chandan cho-aa narak ghor kaa du-aaraa. ||7||
He may lie on beautiful beds perfumed with sandalwood oil; but this will lead him only to terrible sufferings. ||7|
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਚੰਨਣ ਤੇ ਅੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਗੰਧਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪਲੰਘ ਹੋਣ। ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਦੋਜਕ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੭॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
har keerat saaDhsangat hai sir karman kai karmaa.
Singing God’s praises in the holy Congregation, is the most sublime deed of all deeds.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ-ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਇਓ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਪੁਰਬ ਲਿਖੇ ਕਾ ਲਹਨਾ ॥੮॥
kaho naanak tis bha-i-o paraapat jis purab likhay kaa lahnaa. ||8||
Nanak says, only he receives this opportunity who is pre-ordained for it. ||8||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਇਹ ਅਵਸਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
ਤੇਰੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਇਹ ਰੰਗਿ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
tayro sayvak ih rang maataa.
O’ my God, this devotee of Yours is imbued with Your love.
ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਤਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੩॥
bha-i-o kirpaal deen dukh bhanjan har har keertan ih man raataa. rahaa-o doojaa. ||1||3||
The destroyer of the sorrows of the helpless has become merciful to me, and my mind is imbued with His praises. ||Second Pause||1||3||
ਦੀਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ,ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੩॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Shalok, First Guru:
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ ਜੇ ਸਚਾ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
sorath sadaa suhaavanee jay sachaa man ho-ay.
Sorath Raag is always beautiful, if it makes the soul-bride to realize the eternal God’s presence in her mind,
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਰਾਗਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਜੇ (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਵਿਆਂ) ਸਦ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਪਏ,
ਦੰਦੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਕਤੁ ਮਨਿ ਜੀਭੈ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
dandee mail na kat man jeebhai sachaa so-ay.
her habit of slandering goes away, her mind becomes free of enmity and her tongue always sings the praises of God.
ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਨਾਹ ਰਹੇ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ-ਵਿਰੋਧ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤੇ ਜੀਭ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਸਸੁਰੈ ਪੇਈਐ ਭੈ ਵਸੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਨਿਸੰਗ ॥
sasurai pay-ee-ai bhai vasee satgur sayv nisang.
Both here and hereafter, she abides in the revered fear of God and follows the true Guru’s teachings without any hesitation,
ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਿਝੱਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਪਰਹਰਿ ਕਪੜੁ ਜੇ ਪਿਰ ਮਿਲੈ ਖੁਸੀ ਰਾਵੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
parhar kaparh jay pir milai khusee raavai pir sang.
by discarding worldly display, when she realizes her Husband-God, then she happily enjoys His company.
ਵਿਖਾਵਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਦਾ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ਨਾਉ ਮਨਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਮੈਲੁ ਪਤੰਗੁ ॥
sadaa seegaaree naa-o man kaday na mail patang.
The soul-bride, whose mind is embellished with Naam, is never soiled with an iota of the dirt of vices.
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ।
ਦੇਵਰ ਜੇਠ ਮੁਏ ਦੁਖਿ ਸਸੂ ਕਾ ਡਰੁ ਕਿਸੁ ॥
dayvar jayth mu-ay dukh sasoo kaa dar kis.
Her lust and other vices vanish and now she is not afraid of Maya, the worldly riches and power?
ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਦਬਾਅ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਜੇ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਕਰਮ ਮਣੀ ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ॥੧॥
jay pir bhaavai naankaa karam manee sabh sach. ||1||
O’ Nanak if such a soul-bride becomes pleasing to her Husband-God, then deem her very fortunate; she experiences the eternal God everywhere. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਸਮਝੋ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Fourth Guru:
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਤਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਢੰਢੋਲੇ ॥
sorath taam suhaavanee jaa har naam dhandholay.
The musical measure Sorath is beautiful only when it leads the soul-bride to seek God’s Name.
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਰਾਗਣੀ ਤਦੋਂ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇ (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰੇ,
ਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਨਾਵੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲੇ ॥
gur purakh manaavai aapnaa gurmatee har har bolay.
She pleases her Husband-God and meditates on Him through the Guru’s teachings.
ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਤੀ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੇ;
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਕਸਾਈ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਚੋਲੇ ॥
har paraym kasaa-ee dinas raat har ratee har rang cholay.
Day and night, attracted by God’s love, she remains imbued with His love.
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ (ਸਰੀਰ-ਰੂਪ) ਚੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਰੱਖੇ।
ਹਰਿ ਜੈਸਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਲਭਈ ਸਭੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਗਤੁ ਮੈ ਟੋਲੇ ॥
har jaisaa purakh na labh-ee sabh daykhi-aa jagat mai tolay.
I have searched the entire world, but I haven’t found anybody like God.
ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਟੋਲ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਅਨਤ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਡੋਲੇ ॥
gur satgur naam drirh-aa-i-aa man anat na kaahoo dolay.
The true Guru has implanted the Naam within me and now my mind never wavers for the love of the other.
ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ;
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੋਲ ਗੋਲੇ ॥੨॥
jan naanak har kaa daas hai gur satgur kay gol golay. ||2||
God’s devotee Nanak is a humble servant of the true Guru’s followers. ||2||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

Pauree:
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿਆ ॥
too aapay sisat kartaa sirjanhaari-aa.
O’ the Creator, You Yourself are the creator of this universe.
ਹੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਰਚਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ;
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
tuDh aapay khayl rachaa-ay tuDh aap savaari-aa.
You Yourself have set up the worldly play, and You Yourself have embellished it.
ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ; ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰਚਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੈਂ।
ਦਾਤਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਭੋਗਣਹਾਰਿਆ ॥
daataa kartaa aap aap bhoganhaari-aa.
You Yourself are the benefactor of the bounties and You Yourself are the enjoyer of these.
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ;
ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰਿਆ ॥
sabh tayraa sabad vartai upaavanhaari-aa.
O’ the Creator, Your command is pervading everywhere;
ਹੇ (ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰੌ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਉ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
ha-o gurmukh sadaa salaahee gur ka-o vaari-aa. ||1||
I am dedicated to my Guru and through his teachings, I always praise You. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
