Shalok, Third Guru:
ਹਉਮੈ ਜਲਤੇ ਜਲਿ ਮੁਏ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਏ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
ha-umai jaltay jal mu-ay bharam aa-ay doojai bhaa-ay.
Indulged in ego, people endure much suffering and become spiritually dead; after wandering in the love of duality, when they come to the Guru’s refuge,
ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੜ ਮੁਏ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆਏ,
ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਆਪਣੈ ਪੰਨੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
poorai satgur raakh lee-ay aapnai pannai paa-ay.
the Perfect true Guru saved them by making them his own.
ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬਚਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਜਲਤਾ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
ih jag jaltaa nadree aa-i-aa gur kai sabad subhaa-ay.
Through the Guru’s world, they intuitively witnessed the extreme sufferings in the world.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਭਾਵਿਕ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸੜਦਾ ਦਿੱਸਿਆ,
ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
sabad ratay say seetal bha-ay naanak sach kamaa-ay. ||1||
O’ Nanak, they became peaceful by getting imbued with the Guru’s word and by meditating on God’s Name. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਠੰਢੇ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੧॥

Third Guru:
ਸਫਲਿਓ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
safli-o satgur sayvi-aa Dhan janam parvaan.
Blessed and acceptable is the life of those who serve the true Guru by following his teachings.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ , ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਭੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ-ਜੋਗ ਤੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਜੋਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੀਵਦਿਆ ਮੁਇਆ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਸੇਈ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਜਾਣ ॥
jinaa satgur jeevdi-aa mu-i-aa na visrai say-ee purakh sujaan.
Truly wise are those who do not forget the true Guru throughout their life.
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਆਣੇ (ਗਿਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ।
ਕੁਲੁ ਉਧਾਰੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
kul uDhaaray aapnaa so jan hovai parvaan.
Such a devotee emancipates his lineage and he is approved in God’s presence.
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਏ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹਹਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਾਹਿ ॥
gurmukh mu-ay jeevday parvaan heh manmukh janam maraahi.
The Guru’s followers are approved both in life and death, but the self-willed people continue the cycle of birth and death.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਊਂਦੇ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਏ ਵੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ, ਪਰ, ਮਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਨਾਨਕ ਮੁਏ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਜਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
naanak mu-ay na aakhee-ahi je gur kai sabad samaahi. ||2||
O’ Nanak, those who merge in the Guru’s word, become immortal and are not called dead. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਏ ਹੋਏ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੀਦਾ ॥੨॥

Pauree:
ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
har purakh niranjan sayv har naam Dhi-aa-ee-ai.
We should serve the all pervading immaculate God by lovingly remembering Him.
ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਲਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥
satsangat saaDhoo lag har naam samaa-ee-ai.
We can merge in God’s Name only by joining the company of the Guru.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡੀ ਕਾਰ ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਲਾਈਐ ॥
har tayree vadee kaar mai moorakh laa-ee-ai.
O’ God, supreme is Your service, engage me, the foolish one, to that service;
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਰ (ਭਾਵ, ਭਗਤੀ) ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈ;
ਹਉ ਗੋਲਾ ਲਾਲਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਮੈ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਈਐ ॥
ha-o golaa laalaa tuDh mai hukam furmaa-ee-ai.
I am a humble servant of Your devotees, please command me,
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾਂ;
ਹਉ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਾ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਮਝਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
ha-o gurmukh kaar kamaavaa je gur samjaa-ee-ai. ||2||
so that I may remember You by following the Guru’s teachings. ||2||
ਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਕਾਰ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਰਾਂ ॥੨॥

Shalok, Third Guru:
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਜਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਲਿਖਿਆਸੁ ॥
poorab likhi-aa kamaavanaa je kartai aap likhi-aas.
One has to act according to pre-ordained destiny, written by the Creator Himself.
ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ (ਸੰਸਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਲਿਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਜ਼ਰੂਰ) ਕਮਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਮੋਹ ਠਗਉਲੀ ਪਾਈਅਨੁ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
moh thag-ulee paa-ee-an visri-aa guntaas.
He, in whose destiny God has written the potion of emotional attachment, forgets God, the treasure of virtues.
ਉਸ ਲੇਖ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ) ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਠਗਬੂਟੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹਰੀ ਵਿੱਸਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮਤੁ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਜੀਵਦਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮੁਇਆਸੁ ॥
mat jaanhu jag jeevdaa doojai bhaa-ay mu-i-aas.
Don’t consider those worldly people as spiritually alive, who are so engrossed in the love of duality as if they are dead.
ਉਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੋ (ਜੋ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ;
ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਸੇ ਬਹਣਿ ਨ ਮਿਲਨੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
jinee gurmukh naam na chayti-o say bahan na milnee paas.
Those who do not follow the Guru’s teachings and do not meditate on Naam, are not allowed in God’s presence.
ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਬਹੁ ਅਤਿ ਘਣਾ ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਨ ਸਾਥਿ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਸਿ ॥
dukh laagaa baho at ghanaa put kalat na saath ko-ee jaas.
They endure the most terrible misery, because neither their sons nor their wives for whom they accumulated Maya go along with them.
ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਏ ਪਏ ਸਨ, ਉਹ) ਪੁੱਤ੍ਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਏਗਾ;
ਲੋਕਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਉਭੇ ਸਾਸ ॥
lokaa vich muhu kaalaa ho-aa andar ubhay saas.
They are disgraced among the people and inside they sigh in deep regret.
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਭਾਵ, ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ) ਤੇ ਹਾਹੁਕੇ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਕੋ ਨ ਵਿਸਹੀ ਚੁਕਿ ਗਇਆ ਵੇਸਾਸੁ ॥
manmukhaa no ko na vishee chuk ga-i-aa vaysaas.
No one places any reliance in the self-willed people because trust in them is lost.
ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਸਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਅਗਲਾ ਜਿਨਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
naanak gurmukhaa no sukh aglaa jinaa antar naam nivaas. ||1||
O’ Nanak, the Guru’s followers, within whom is enshrined God’s Name, live in utmost peace. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Third Guru:
ਸੇ ਸੈਣ ਸੇ ਸਜਣਾ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
say sain say sajnaa je gurmukh mileh subhaa-ay.
They alone are our relatives and well-wishers, who are the Guru’s followers and meet us with love and affection.
ਓਹੀ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਓਹੀ ਹੀ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ, ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ-ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
satgur kaa bhaanaa an-din karahi say sach rahay samaa-ay.
They always act according to the true Guru’s will and remain absorbed in the eternal God.
ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਲਗੇ ਸਜਣ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਵੇਕਾਰ ॥
doojai bhaa-ay lagay sajan na aakhee-ahi je abhimaan karahi vaykaar.
Those who are attached to the love of duality are not called friends; they practice egotism and evil deeds.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖੀਦਾ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਆਪ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥
manmukh aap su-aarthee kaaraj na sakahi savaar.
The self-willed people are selfish; they cannot resolve anyone’s affairs.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਤਲਬ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਹੋਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਵਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ;
ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
naanak poorab likhi-aa kamaavanaa ko-ay na maytanhaar. ||2||
O’ Nanak, they reap the fruit of their own doings in the past, and no one can erase their preordained destiny. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਓਹੀ ਕੁਛ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ॥੨॥

ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਪਿ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
tuDh aapay jagat upaa-ay kai aap khayl rachaa-i-aa.
O’ God, having created the world, You Yourself have set up this play.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ;
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਿ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਧਾਇਆ ॥
tarai gun aap sirji-aa maa-i-aa moh vaDhaa-i-aa.
You Yourself created the three modes of Maya, the worldly riches and power, and fostered the love for it across the entire world.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਵਧਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
vich ha-umai laykhaa mangee-ai fir aavai jaa-i-aa.
Those who act in egotism are asked to account for their deeds and are assigned to the cycle of birth and death.
ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ, ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਮਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥
jinaa har aap kirpaa karay say gur samjhaa-i-aa.
The Guru imparts this understanding to those on whom God Himself bestows grace.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਇਹ) ਸਮਝ ਪਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
balihaaree gur aapnay sadaa sadaa ghumaa-i-aa. ||3||
I am forever dedicated to my guru, yes I am dedicated to him. ||3||
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥

Shalok, Third Guru:
ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਣੁ ਦੰਤਾ ਜਗੁ ਖਾਇਆ ॥
maa-i-aa mamtaa mohnee jin vin dantaa jag khaa-i-aa.
Maya, the enticer of the mind is so powerful that it has engrossed the entire human race as if it has devoured the entire world.
ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਮੂਲਚਾ ਹੀ ਨਿਗਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।)
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਖਾਧੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
manmukh khaaDhay gurmukh ubray jinee sach naam chit laa-i-aa.
The self-willed persons are being consumed by it; but the Guru’s followers who have attuned themselves to the eternal Naam are saved.
ਮਨਮੁਖ (ਇਸ ‘ਮਮਤਾ’ ਵਿਚ) ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਬਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਗੁ ਕਮਲਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
bin naavai jag kamlaa firai gurmukh nadree aa-i-aa.
The Guru’s follower comes to see that without meditating on Naam, the world is roaming around insane.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਮਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
