ਮੇਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਛੋਡੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਹੋਈਐ ਸਭ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
mayraa tayraa chhodee-ai bhaa-ee ho-ee-ai sabh kee Dhoor.
O’ brother, we should give up our sense of “mine and thine” and we should become humble like the dust of the feet of all.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵਿਤਕਰਾ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਸਾਰਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਪੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
ghat ghat barahm pasaari-aa bhaa-ee paykhai sunai hajoor.
O’ brother, God pervades each and every heart; He sees and hears everything and He is ever present with us.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਤੁ ਦਿਨਿ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਦਿਨਿ ਮਰੀਐ ਝੂਰਿ ॥
jit din visrai paarbarahm bhaa-ee tit din maree-ai jhoor.
O’ brother, the day He is forsaken from our mind, we feel as if we are spiritually dying in repentance.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਏ, ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲਈਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਸਮਰਥੋ ਭਾਈ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੪॥
karan karaavan samratho bhaa-ee sarab kalaa bharpoor. ||4||
O’ brother, God is the all-powerful, Cause of causes; he possesses all kinds of powers. ||4||.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥
paraym padaarath naam hai bhaa-ee maa-i-aa moh binaas.
O’ brother, in whose heart is present the wealth of Naam and God’s love that person’s love for Maya, the worldly riches and power is destroyed.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਭਾਈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
tis bhaavai taa mayl la-ay bhaa-ee hirdai naam nivaas.
O’ brother, when it so pleases God, He unites that person with Himself; and in that person’s heart is enshrined God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ) ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਰਿਦੈ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
gurmukh kamal pargaasee-ai bhaa-ee ridai hovai pargaas.
O’ brother, through the Guru’s teachings one’s heart blooms in delight and is enlightened with divine wisdom.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦਾ ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਈ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਧਰਤਿ ਅਕਾਸੁ ॥੫॥
pargat bha-i-aa partaap parabh bhaa-ee ma-oli-aa Dharat akaas. ||5||
O’ brother, the power of God becomes manifest and one realizes that it is through God’s power that the earth and sky are in bloom.||5||.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਖਿੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਸੰਤੋਖਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਭਾਉ ॥
gur poorai santokhi-aa bhaa-ee ahinis laagaa bhaa-o.
O’ brother, whom the perfect Guru has blessed with the gift of contentment, he always remains imbued with the love of God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਦੁ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
rasnaa raam ravai sadaa bhaa-ee saachaa saad su-aa-o.
O’ brother, that person’s tongue always utters God’s Name which becomes his everlasting love and objective.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ) ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸੁਆਦ ਇਹ)ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਨੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਥਾਉ ॥
karnee sun sun jeevi-aa bhaa-ee nihchal paa-i-aa thaa-o.
O’ brother, he spiritually rejuvenates by always listening to God’s praises with his ears and receives an eternal place in God’s presence.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਟੱਲ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਭਾਈ ਸੋ ਜੀਅੜਾ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੬॥
jis parteet na aavee bhaa-ee so jee-arhaa jal jaa-o. ||6||
O’ brother, the one who does not develop faith in the Guru, that soul gets burnt down in the heat of vices. ||6||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੇ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੱਝਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਬਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬੈ ਭਾਈ ਹਉ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
baho gun mayray saahibai bhaa-ee ha-o tis kai bal jaa-o.
Many are the merits of my God, O’ brother; I am dedicated to Him.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ-ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਓਹੁ ਨਿਰਗੁਣੀਆਰੇ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਦੇਇ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥
oh nirgunee-aaray paaldaa bhaa-ee day-ay nithaavay thaa-o.
O’ brother, He nurtures even the unvirtuous ones, and gives support to the supportless.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਗੁਣ-ਵਿਹੂਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਪਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਿਆਸਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹੇ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਭਾਈ ਗੂੜਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
rijak sambaahay saas saas bhaa-ee goorhaa jaa kaa naa-o.
O’ brother, that God whose Name is beauteous and loveable, He provides us sustenance with each and every breath.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਪੁਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਰਮਾਉ ॥੭॥
jis gur saachaa bhaytee-ai bhaa-ee pooraa tis karmaa-o. ||7||
O’ brother, perfect is the destiny of the one who meets with the true Guru. ||7||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਜੀਵੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
tis bin gharhee na jeevee-ai bhaa-ee sarab kalaa bharpoor.
O’ brothers, God has all kind of power; without remembering Him one cannot spiritually survive even for a moment.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਇਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਭਾਈ ਪੇਖਉ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
saas giraas na visrai bhaa-ee paykha-o sadaa hajoor.
O’ brother, I always behold Him around me and I do not forget Him even while I am breathing or putting a morsel in my mouth.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ।
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
saaDhoo sang milaa-i-aa bhaa-ee sarab rahi-aa bharpoor.
O’ brother, one whom God united with the Guru’s congregation, beholds Him pervading everywhere.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਦਿੱਸਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਲਗੀਆ ਭਾਈ ਸੇ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਮਰਦੇ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੮॥
jinaa pareet na lagee-aa bhaa-ee say nit nit marday jhoor. ||8||
But, O’ brother, those who have not been imbued with love of God, they repent and grieve in agony day after day.||8||
ਪਰ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਾਤੁਰ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੮॥
ਅੰਚਲਿ ਲਾਇ ਤਰਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
anchal laa-ay taraa-i-aa bhaa-ee bha-ojal dukh sansaar.
O’ brothers, by providing total protection, God Himself ferries one across the dreadful worldly ocean of painful vices.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਇਸ ਦੁੱਖ-ਰੂਪ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਕੀਤੋਨੁ ਅੰਗੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
kar kirpaa nadar nihaali-aa bhaa-ee keeton ang apaar.
O’ brother, God bestows His merciful glance and provides him with unlimited support.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਭੂ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪੱਖ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
man tan seetal ho-i-aa bhaa-ee bhojan naam aDhaar.
O’ brother, his body and mind becomes calm, and Naam becomes his spiritual sustenance and main support in life.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਠੰਢਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਰੀਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ (ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ), ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਭਾਈ ਜਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੯॥੧॥
naanak tis sarnaagatee bhaa-ee je kilbikh kaatanhaar. ||9||1||
O’ Nanak, enter the refuge of that God, who is the destroyer of sins.||9||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਵੋ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥੧॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਦੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੋ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤਹ ਅਪਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਇਆ ॥
maat garabh dukh saagro pi-aaray tah apnaa naam japaa-i-aa.
O’ my dear, God made human beings meditate on His Name in the mother’s womb which is like an ocean of misery.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੇਟ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਾਇਆ (ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ)।
ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਪਸਰੀਆ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਧਾਇਆ ॥
baahar kaadh bikh pasree-aa pi-aaray maa-i-aa moh vaDhaa-i-aa.
O’ dear, after taking out of the womb, God entrapped the being in the poisonous Maya which already has been spread around and he falls in love with it.
ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ (ਜਨਮ ਦੇ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ) ਜ਼ਹਰ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਰੱਖੀ (ਤੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਵਧਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕੀਤੋ ਕਰਮੁ ਆਪਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
jis no keeto karam aap pi-aaray tis pooraa guroo milaa-i-aa.
O’ dear, one on whom God bestows grace, unites him with the perfect Guru.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
so aaraaDhay saas saas pi-aaray raam naam liv laa-i-aa. ||1||
Such a person remembers God with each and every breath, and remains attuned to God’s Name. ||1||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ॥
man tan tayree tayk hai pi-aaray man tan tayree tayk.
O’ dear God, You are the support of my mind and body, Yes, You are my anchor.
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ (ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ)।
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਨਹਾਰੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਏਕ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tuDh bin avar na karanhaar pi-aaray antarjaamee ayk. rahaa-o.
O’ dear God, You alone are the omniscient; except You, there is none else capable of doing everything. ||pause||
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਆ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥
kot janam bharam aa-i-aa pi-aaray anik jon dukh paa-ay.
O’ dear brother, one has received the human life after wandering and suffering through millions of births in myriads of incarnations.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰ ਕੇ, ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
saachaa saahib visri-aa pi-aaray bahutee milai sajaa-ay.
But the one from whose mind the eternal God is forgotten, receives severe punishment.
(ਪਰ ਇੱਥੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ ਭੇਟੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
jin bhaytai pooraa satguroo pi-aaray say laagay saachai naa-ay.
O’ dear, those who meet with the perfect true Guru and follow his teachings, are attuned to the eternal God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
