ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਆਇਓ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
jab hee saran saaDh kee aa-i-o durmat sagal binaasee.
When one comes to the Guru’s refuge all his evil intellect vanishes.
ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੋਝੀ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਬ ਨਾਨਕ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਚਿੰਤਾਮਨਿ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੩॥੭॥
tab naanak chayti-o chintaaman kaatee jam kee faasee. ||3||7||
O’ Nanak, then he meditates on the all wish-fulfilling God and his noose of death gets snapped. ||3||7||
ਤਦੋਂ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਤੇ, ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਮ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਭੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੭॥

Raag Sorath, Ninth Guru:
ਰੇ ਨਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਚੀ ਜੀਅ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
ray nar ih saachee jee-a Dhaar.
O’ mortal, enshrine this truth firmly in your mind,
ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਪੱਕੀ ਗੱਲ ਟਿਕਾ ਲੈ,
ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ਹੈ ਜੈਸੇ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਲਗਤ ਨ ਬਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal jagat hai jaisay supnaa binsat lagat na baar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that the entire world is like a dream and it doesn’t take any time for it to perish. ||1||Pause||
(ਕਿ) ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦੇ) ਨਾਸ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਚਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਾਰੂ ਭੀਤਿ ਬਨਾਈ ਰਚਿ ਪਚਿ ਰਹਤ ਨਹੀ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ॥
baaroo bheet banaa-ee rach pach rahat nahee din chaar.
Just as a wall built of sand and even plastered with great care, does not last even for a few days,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਰੇਤ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਉਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਪੋਚ ਕੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ; ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕੰਧ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨ ਭੀ (ਟਿਕੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ।
ਤੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਕਹਾ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥
taisay hee ih sukh maa-i-aa kay urjhi-o kahaa gavaar. ||1||
similarly short lived are these worldly comforts of Maya; O’ foolish person, why are you entangled in these? ||1||
ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਭੀ ਉਸ (ਰੇਤ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ) ਵਰਗੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ? ॥੧॥
ਅਜਹੂ ਸਮਝਿ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਨਾਹਿਨਿ ਭਜਿ ਲੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥
ajhoo samajh kachh bigri-o naahin bhaj lay naam muraar.
Understand this now that it is still not too late! Meditate on God’s Naam.
ਅਜੇ ਭੀ ਸਮਝ ਜਾ (ਅਜੇ) ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗੜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ; ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਜ ਮਤੁ ਸਾਧਨ ਕਉ ਭਾਖਿਓ ਤੋਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੮॥
kaho naanak nij mat saaDhan ka-o bhaakhi-o tohi pukaar. ||2||8||
Nanak says, this is the subtle wisdom of the true saints, which I am proclaiming loudly and clearly. ||2||8||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਨਿਜੀ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੮॥

Raag Sorath, Ninth Guru:
ਇਹ ਜਗਿ ਮੀਤੁ ਨ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਕੋਈ ॥
ih jag meet na daykhi-o ko-ee.
I have not seen any real friend in this world.
ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ (ਤੋੜ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਮਿੱਤਰ (ਮੈਂ) ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ਅਪਨੈ ਸੁਖਿ ਲਾਗਿਓ ਦੁਖ ਮੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal jagat apnai sukh laagi-o dukh mai sang na ho-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The entire world is busy in looking after its own comfort, and nobody gives us company during our time of sorrow. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੁੱਟਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ (ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦਾਰਾ ਮੀਤ ਪੂਤ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਸਗਰੇ ਧਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
daaraa meet poot sanbanDhee sagray Dhan si-o laagay.
Wife, friends, children, and all relatives are attached to the worldly wealth.
ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਮਿੱਤਰ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਨ ਨਾਲ (ਹੀ) ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਦੇਖਿਓ ਨਰ ਕਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਛਾਡਿ ਸਭ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੧॥
jab hee nirDhan daykhi-o nar ka-o sang chhaad sabh bhaagay. ||1||
When they come across a poor person, they immediately forsake his company and run away. ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ, (ਤਦੋਂ) ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨੱਸ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਕਹਂਉ ਕਹਾ ਯਿਆ ਮਨ ਬਉਰੇ ਕਉ ਇਨ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਇਓ ॥
kahooN kahaa yi-aa man ba-uray ka-o in si-o nayhu lagaa-i-o.
What can I say to this crazy mind of mine that is attached to these false and short-lived friends,
ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਝੱਲੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਹ ਸਮਝਾਵਾਂ? (ਇਸ ਨੇ) ਇਹਨਾਂ (ਕੱਚੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ) ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਸਕਲ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਜਸੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
deenaa naath sakal bhai bhanjan jas taa ko bisraa-i-o. ||2||
and has forsaken singing the praises of that God who is merciful to the meek, and the destroyer of all fears. ||2||
ਅਤੈ ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਭੁਲਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸੁਆਨ ਪੂਛ ਜਿਉ ਭਇਓ ਨ ਸੂਧਉ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜਤਨੁ ਮੈ ਕੀਨਉ ॥
su-aan poochh ji-o bha-i-o na sooDha-o bahut jatan mai keen-o.
just as a dog’s tail does not get straightened, similarly this mind’s attitude about remembering God does not change, no matter how much I try.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਦੀ ਪੂਛਲ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ (ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਲੋਂ ਲਾ-ਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਹਟਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ) ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਲਾਜ ਬਿਰਦ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਹਾਰਉ ਲੀਨਉ ॥੩॥੯॥
naanak laaj birad kee raakho naam tuhaara-o leen-o. ||3||9||
O’Nanak, I have meditated on Your Name; O’God, uphold Your innate nature and save me. ||3||9||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ; ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਅਤੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰ ॥੩॥੯॥

Raag Sorath, Ninth Guru:
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗਹਿਓ ਨ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ॥
man ray gahi-o na gur updays.
O mind, if you do not accept the Guru’s teachings,
ਹੇ ਮਨ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਜਉ ਮੂਡੁ ਮੁਡਾਇਓ ਭਗਵਉ ਕੀਨੋ ਭੇਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kahaa bha-i-o ja-o mood mudaa-i-o bhagva-o keeno bhays. ||1|| rahaa-o.
then how does it matter if you have shaved your head and adorned saffron clothing. ||1||Pause||
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਮੁਨਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਵੇ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾ ਲਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਚ ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਝੂਠਹ ਲਾਗਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਰਥੁ ਖੋਇਓ ॥
saach chhaad kai jhoothah laagi-o janam akaarath kho-i-o.
abandoning the eternal God, you remain attached to the perishable worldly wealth and have wasted away your human life in vain.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੁਆ ਲਿਆ
ਕਰਿ ਪਰਪੰਚ ਉਦਰ ਨਿਜ ਪੋਖਿਓ ਪਸੁ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਸੋਇਓ ॥੧॥
kar parpanch udar nij pokhi-o pas kee ni-aa-ee so-i-o. ||1||
You have sustained yourself by practicing deception and like an animal remained unaware of the reality. ||1||
ਛਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੇਟ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਤੇ, ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੧॥
ਰਾਮ ਭਜਨ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਹਾਥਿ ਬਿਕਾਨਾ ॥
raam bhajan kee gat nahee jaanee maa-i-aa haath bikaanaa.
You do not know the way to meditate on God; you are running after Maya, as if you have sold yourself to Maya.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਤੂੰਸਮਝਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ , ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ।
ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਬਿਖਿਅਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਉਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਬਿਸਰਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
urajh rahi-o bikhi-an sang ba-uraa naam ratan bisraanaa. ||2||
Forsaking the jewel like priceless Naam, the silly person remains engrossed in the love for Maya. ||2||
ਕਮਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ (ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ) ਰਤਨ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਰਹਿਓ ਅਚੇਤੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਅਉਧ ਸਿਰਾਨੀ ॥
rahi-o achayt na chayti-o gobind birthaa a-oDh siraanee.
One remain thoughtless, does not remember God and passes his life in vain.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਅਵੇਸਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪਛਾਨਉ ਭੂਲੇ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥੩॥੧੦॥
kaho naanak har birad pachhaana-o bhoolay sadaa paraanee. ||3||10||
Nanak says, O’ God, remember Your innate nature; we human beings always make mistakes. ||3||10||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦੇਸੁਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖ। ਇਹ ਜੀਵ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਭੁੱਲੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥੧੦॥

ਜੋ ਨਰੁ ਦੁਖ ਮੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
jo nar dukh mai dukh nahee maanai.
The person who does not panic in pain and sorrow,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਘਬਰਾਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ,
ਸੁਖ ਸਨੇਹੁ ਅਰੁ ਭੈ ਨਹੀ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੰਚਨ ਮਾਟੀ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sukh sanayhu ar bhai nahee jaa kai kanchan maatee maanai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who is not attached to comforts, has no fear in the mind, and who deems worldly wealth as worthless. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੋਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਸਮਾਨ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਹ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਨਹ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ॥
nah nindi-aa nah ustat jaa kai lobh moh abhimaanaa.
One who neither indulges in slandering, nor flattering others; and who is not swayed by greed, unusual emotional attachments and self-conceit.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਚੁਗ਼ਲੀ-ਬੁਰਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਾਮਦ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਹ ਲੋਭ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਮੋਹ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਹੈ;
ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਆਰਉ ਨਾਹਿ ਮਾਨ ਅਪਮਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
harakh sog tay rahai ni-aara-o naahi maan apmaanaa. ||1||
One who remains unaffected by joy and sorrow, honor and dishonor. ||1||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਆਦਰ ਪੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਨਿਰਾਦਰੀ ॥੧॥
ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗੈ ਜਗ ਤੇ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ॥
aasaa mansaa sagal ti-aagai jag tay rahai niraasaa.
One who renounces all hopes and desires and remains detached from the world,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਉਮੈਦਾਂ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਮੋਹ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਜਿਹ ਪਰਸੈ ਨਾਹਨਿ ਤਿਹ ਘਟਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੨॥
kaam kroDh jih parsai naahan tih ghat barahm nivaasaa. ||2||
and is not touched by lust and anger; such a person realizes God’s presence in his heart. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਛੋਹ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਛੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਹ ਨਰ ਕਉ ਕੀਨੀ ਤਿਹ ਇਹ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥
gur kirpaa jih nar ka-o keenee tih ih jugat pachhaanee.
One on whom the Guru bestowed mercy, understood this way of living life.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਇਹ ਜਾਚ ਸਮਝੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਲੀਨ ਭਇਓ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਨੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਨੀ ॥੩॥੧੧॥
naanak leen bha-i-o gobind si-o ji-o paanee sang paanee. ||3||11||
O’ Nanak, such a person merges in God, like water inseparably merges with water. ||3||11||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਉਂ ਇਕ-ਮਿਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੧੧॥
