ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥
gur pooraa aaraaDhay.
Those who contemplated on the Perfect Guru’s teachings,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ,
ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
kaaraj saglay saaDhay.
they successfully resolve all their affairs.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਲਏ।
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
sagal manorath pooray.
All their wishes are fulfilled,
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ,
ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ॥੧॥
baajay anhad tooray. ||1||
and the melody of non-stop divine music keeps on playing in their minds. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਾਜੇ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
santahu raam japat sukh paa-i-aa.
O’ dear saints, those persons rejoice in bliss by meditating upon God’s Name,
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸੰਤ ਅਸਥਾਨਿ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sant asthaan basay sukh sehjay saglay dookh mitaa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
they attain peace and poise by staying in the holy congregation; thus they eradicate all their sufferings. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਟਿਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
gur pooray kee banee. paarbarahm man bhaanee.
The words of the perfect Guru are pleasing to the Supreme God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸਿ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥੨॥੧੮॥੮੨॥
naanak daas vakhaanee. nirmal akath kahaanee. ||2||18||82||
O’ Nanak, some rare devotee utters these immaculate divine words of the praises of the indescribable God. ||2||18||82||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੇ ਹੀਉਸ ਠਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤੈ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਣੀਉਚਾਰੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧੮॥੮੨॥
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਭੂਖੇ ਖਾਵਤ ਲਾਜ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
bhookhay khaavat laaj na aavai.
Just as a hungry man doesn’t feel any shame while eating his food,
ਜਿਵੇਂਭੁੱਖਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ,
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
ti-o har jan har gun gaavai. ||1||
similarly, the devotee of God keeps singing His praises to satiate his spiritual hunger. ||1||
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟਾਣ ਲਈ ਬੜੇ ਚਾਅ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਅਪਨੇ ਕਾਜ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਅਲਕਾਈਐ ॥
apnay kaaj ka-o ki-o alkaa-ee-ai.
Why should we be sluggish in doing our real job,
(ਉਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਜੋ ਸਾਡਾ ਅਸਲ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ) ਆਪਣੇ (ਇਸ ਅਸਲ) ਕੰਮ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਆਲਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ,
ਜਿਤੁ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jit simran dargeh mukh oojal sadaa sadaa sukh paa-ee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
of meditating on Naam; by doing so we are honored in God’s presence and attain peace forever and ever. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਹੋਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਉ ਕਾਮੀ ਕਾਮਿ ਲੁਭਾਵੈ ॥
ji-o kaamee kaam lubhaavai.
Just as a lustful person is always enticed by lust,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਸ਼ਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
ti-o har daas har jas bhaavai. ||2||
similarly singing of God’s praises is pleasing to His devotee. ||2||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਉ ਮਾਤਾ ਬਾਲਿ ਲਪਟਾਵੈ ॥
ji-o maataa baal laptaavai.
Just as a mother always clings to her child,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਉ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
ti-o gi-aanee naam kamaavai. ||3||
similarly a spiritually wise person always cherishes Naam||3||
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ (-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੮੩॥
gur pooray tay paavai. jan naanak naam Dhi-aavai. ||4||19||83||
O’ Nanak, only that person meditates on Naam who receives this gift of Naam from the perfect Guru. ||4||19||83||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ॥੪॥੧੯॥੮੩॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਂਦਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
sukh saaNd ghar aa-i-aa.
One, who follows the Guru’s teachings, achieves spiritual rejuvenation in hisheart.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਰੋਗਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਟਿਕ ਗਿਆ,
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਛਾਇਆ ॥
nindak kai mukh chhaa-i-aa.
his slanderers were put to shame.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੀ ਪਈ l
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ॥
poorai gur pehraa-i-aa.
The perfect Guru honored him with a robe of honor,
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ।
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
binsay dukh sabaa-i-aa. ||1||
and all his sorrows vanished. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
santahu saachay kee vadi-aa-ee.
O’ saints, all this is the glory of the eternal God,
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! (ਵੇਖੋ) ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jin achraj sobh banaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who has arranged this astonishing honor for His devotee. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬੋਲੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ॥ ਦਾਸੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
bolay saahib kai bhaanai. daas banee barahm vakhaanai.
That devotee now speaks according to the will of God, and utters the divine words of God’s praises.
ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ,ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ) ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੦॥੮੪॥
naanak parabh sukh-daa-ee. jin pooree banat banaa-ee. ||2||20||84||
O’ Nanak, that God, who has created this perfect arrangement of uniting devotees with Himself, is always bliss giving. ||2||20||84||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਉਕਾਈ ਨਾਹ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਵਿਓਂਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,॥੨॥੨੦॥੮੪॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
parabh apunaa ridai Dhi-aa-ay.
One who sincerely remembers God with loving devotion,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਘਰਿ ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਆਏ ॥
ghar sahee salaamat aa-ay.
stays in a state of spiritual poise with his divine virtues totally safe from vices.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਭਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥
santokh bha-i-aa sansaaray.
He feels contented even while doing the worldly chores,
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੰਤੋਖ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਲੈ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
gur poorai lai taaray. ||1||
as if the perfect Guru has ferried him across the worldly ocean of vices. ||1||
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
santahu parabh mayraa sadaa da-i-aalaa.
O’ saints, my God is always merciful.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਕੀ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਗਣਈ ਰਾਖੈ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
apnay bhagat kee ganat na gan-ee raakhai baal gupaalaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God, the master of the universe, does not take into account the deeds of His devotees, and protects them like His children. ||1||Pause||
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
har naam ridai ur Dhaaray.
The person who has enshrined God’s Name in his heart,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ ,
ਤਿਨਿ ਸਭੇ ਥੋਕ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
tin sabhay thok savaaray.
he has resolved all his affairs.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਰਾਸ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੁਸਿ ਦੀਆ ॥ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੮੫॥
gur poorai tus dee-aa. fir naanak dookh na thee-aa. ||2||21||85||
O’ Nanak, being pleased, whom the perfect Guru blessed with Naam; no sorrow ever afflicted that person again. ||2||21||85||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ,ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਾਹ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੮੫॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
har man tan vasi-aa so-ee.
One who has realized God pervading his mind and body;
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
jai jai kaar karay sabh ko-ee.
he is acclaimed by everybody.
ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
gur pooray kee vadi-aa-ee.
This is the grace of the perfect Guru, because of which one remembers God.
ਇਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ)
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
taa kee keemat kahee na jaa-ee. ||1||
The worth of the Guru’s grace cannot be described. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਹਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ਜਾਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਵੈ ॥
ha-o kurbaan jaa-ee tayray naavai.
O’ God, I am devoted to Your Name.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis no bakhas laihi mayray pi-aaray so jas tayraa gaavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my dear God! he alone sings Your praises on whom You bestow Your grace. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੂੰ ਭਾਰੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
tooN bhaaro su-aamee mayraa.
O’ God, You are my most powerful Master;
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
santaaN bharvaasaa tayraa.
Your saints depend upon Your support.
ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਛਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੨॥੮੬॥
naanak parabh sarnaa-ee. mukh nindak kai chhaa-ee. ||2||22||86||
O’ Nanak! the slanderer of a person who remains in God’s refuge is put to shame as if ashes have been thrown on his face. ||2||22||86||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ॥੨॥੨੨॥੮੬॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਆਗੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
aagai sukh mayray meetaa.
O’ my friends, one for whom God has made provision of peace for the future,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸੁਖ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਪਾਛੇ ਆਨਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਤਾ ॥
paachhay aanad parabh keetaa.
and has blessed him with bliss so far.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਬੀਤ ਚੁਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ,
ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਿ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
parmaysur banat banaa-ee.
One for whom the supreme God has made this arrangement,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਵਿਓਂਤ ਬਣਾ ਰੱਖੀ,
ਫਿਰਿ ਡੋਲਤ ਕਤਹੂ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
fir dolat kathoo naahee. ||1||
his mind does not waver any more.||1||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
saachay saahib si-o man maani-aa.
One whose mind is appeased with the eternal Master-God,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨਾਲ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har sarab nirantar jaani-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
he beholds that Master-God uniformly pervading everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਪਛਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
