ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਣੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ॥
ho-ay da-i-aal kirpaal parabh thaakur aapay sunai baynantee.
When God becomes merciful and compassionate on a person, He Himself listens to his prayer,
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਚੂਕੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਤੀ ॥
pooraa satgur mayl milaavai sabh chookai man kee chintee.
then by uniting him with the true Guru, this way all his anxiety is dispelled.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਲ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਵਖਦੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸੰਤੀ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੬੨॥
har har naam avkhad mukh paa-i-aa jan naanak sukh vasantee. ||4||12||62||
O’ Nanak, in whose mouth the Guru administers the medicine of God’s Name, leads his life in spiritual peace. ||4||12||62||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਦਵਾਈ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੬੨॥

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਦੁਖ ਕਲੇਸ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਠੇ ॥
simar simar parabh bha-ay anandaa dukh kalays sabh naathay.
O’ God, those who remember You with loving devotion, become blissful and all their pains and anxieties vanish.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਧਿਆਵਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਾਂਠੇ ॥੧॥
gun gaavat Dhi-aavat parabh apnaa kaaraj saglay saaNthay. ||1||
They accomplish all their tasks while singing praises of God and remembering Him with adoration. ||1||
ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥
jagjeevan naam tumaaraa.
O’ God, Your Name rejuvenates the spiritual life of the beings in the world.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਗਤ (ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਦੀਓ ਉਪਦੇਸਾ ਜਪਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pooray dee-o updaysaa jap bha-ojal paar utaaraa. rahaa-o.
Anyone who has been spiritually enlightened by The Perfect Guru, gets to cross over the terrifying worldly ocean of vices. ||Pause||
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਤੂਹੈ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੁਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੂਹੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਾ ॥
toohai mantree suneh parabh toohai sabh kichh karnaihaaraa.
O’ God, You Yourself are Your counselor, You Yourself listen to the prayers of Your creatures and You are the doer of everything,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਇਹੁ ਜੰਤੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
too aapay daataa aapay bhugtaa ki-aa ih jant vichaaraa. ||2||
You Yourself are the Bestower and the User of all the gifts; what power does the helpless mortal have?||2||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਇਸ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਕਿਆ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
ki-aa gun tayray aakh vakhaanee keemat kahan na jaa-ee.
Which of Your glorious virtues should I describe and speak of? Your worth cannot be described.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਕਦਰ-ਕੀਮਤ ਦੱਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਵਡਾਈ ॥੩॥
paykh paykh jeevai parabh apnaa achraj tumeh vadaa-ee. ||3||
O’ God, amazing is Your glory; one spiritually rejuvenates by always getting Your glympse through the nature. ||3||
ਤੇਰਾ ਵਡੱਪਣ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਪਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਪੂਰੀ ॥
Dhaar anoograhu aap parabh savaamee pat mat keenee pooree.
O’ Master-God, by bestowing mercy, You bless a person with perfect honor and intellect.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਬਾਛਉ ਸੰਤਾ ਧੂਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੬੩॥
sadaa sadaa naanak balihaaree baachha-o santaa Dhooree. ||4||13||63||
Nanak says, O’ God I am dedicated to You, and crave for the humble service and teachings of saintly people. ||4||13||63||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੬੩॥

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੇ ॥
gur pooraa namaskaaray.
One who bows and totally surrenders to the perfect Guru,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
parabh sabhay kaaj savaaray.
God resolves all his affairs.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਹਰਿ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
har apnee kirpaa Dhaaree.
God bestowed mercy on that person,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ (ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ) ਕੀਤੀ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
parabh pooran paij savaaree. ||1||
and fully protected his honor. ||1||
ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ॥੧॥
ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੋ ਭਇਓ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
apnay daas ko bha-i-o sahaa-ee.
God helps and supports His devotee.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਕੀਨੇ ਕਰਤੈ ਊਣੀ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagal manorath keenay kartai oonee baat na kaa-ee. rahaa-o.
The Creator fulfilled all his wishes and did not leave dearth of anything. ||pause||
ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਥੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿਤੀ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕਰਤੈ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਤਾਲੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥
kartai purakh taal divaa-i-aa.
The all pervading Creator-God blessed him with the secret wealth of Naam through the Guru,
ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੁਪਤ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦਿਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਪਿਛੈ ਲਗਿ ਚਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
pichhai lag chalee maa-i-aa.
and Maya, the worldly wealth and powers, becomes subservient to him.
ਮਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਆਵੈ ॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
tot na kathoo aavai.mayray pooray satgur bhaavai. ||2||
The perfect true Guru desires only this thing for him that he never feels shortage of anything. ||2||
ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਘਾਟ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।॥੨॥
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥
simar simar da-i-aalaa. sabh jee-a bha-ay kirpaalaa.
All those, who always remember the merciful God with loving devotion, ultimately become the embodiment of the compassionate God.
ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਦਇਆ-ਸਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
jai jai kaar gusaa-ee.
Therefore, you should always sing the praises of that God,
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਉਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੩॥
jin pooree banat banaa-ee. ||3||
Who has put forth this perfect way to unite beings with Himself.||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਣ ਦੀ) ਇਹ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਵਿਓਂਤ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤੂ ਭਾਰੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੋਰਾ ॥
too bhaaro su-aamee moraa.
O’ God, You are my most powerful Master.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਇਹੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
ih punn padaarath tayraa.
This wealth of Naam is Your blessing.
ਇਹੁ ਨਾਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
jan naanak ayk Dhi-aa-i-aa.
O’ Nanak, one who lovingly remembered God,
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਸਰਬ ਫਲਾ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੬੪॥
sarab falaa punn paa-i-aa. ||4||14||64||
received the all fulfilling divine blessing. ||4||14||64||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ (ਰੱਬੀ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੬੪॥

One eternal God realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਰੋਵਰਿ ਨਾਤੇ ॥
raamdaas sarovar naatay.
Those who remember God by bathe in the spiritual pool (congregation) of the devotee’s of God,
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸਭਿ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਤੇ ॥
sabh utray paap kamaatay.
all their sins which they ever committed are washed off.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਛਲੇ) ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ॥
nirmal ho-ay kar isnaanaa.
They become immaculate by bathing in this pool of the Nectar of Naam.
(ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਾਲ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕੀਨੇ ਦਾਨਾ ॥੧॥
gur poorai keenay daanaa. ||1||
But the gift of bathing in the nectar of Naam is blessed by the perfect Guru. ||1||
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਭਿ ਕੁਸਲ ਖੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
sabh kusal khaym parabh Dhaaray.
God blessed that person with all kinds of bliss and happiness,
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਸਭਿ ਥੋਕ ਉਬਾਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sahee salaamat sabh thok ubaaray gur kaa sabad veechaaray. rahaa-o.
who preserved all virtues by reflecting on the Guru’s word. ||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੋਚ-ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਠੀਕ-ਠਾਕ ਬਚਾ ਲਏ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਲੁ ਲਾਥੀ ॥
saaDhsang mal laathee.
By joining the Company of the Holy, filth of all sins is washed off,
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕਿਆਂ) ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਭਇਓ ਸਾਥੀ ॥
paarbarahm bha-i-o saathee.
and God becomes our companion and support.
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
naanak naam Dhi-aa-i-aa.
O’ Nanak, one who always meditated on Naam with loving devotion,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ,
ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧॥੬੫॥
aad purakh parabh paa-i-aa. ||2||1||65||
realized God, the all-pervading primal being.||2||1||65||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੬੫॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
jit paarbarahm chit aa-i-aa.
The one who realized the presence of the supreme God in his heart,
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਦਯਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
so ghar da-yi vasaa-i-aa.
God flourished that person’s heart with divine virtues.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਘਰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਭਰਪੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
