ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੨॥
kar kirpaa apuno kar leenaa man vasi-aa abhinaasee. ||2||
Then bestowing mercy, God makes him His own, and he realizes the eternal God dwelling within his mind. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਸ ਰਹਿਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਲਾਗੈ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
taa ka-o bighan na ko-oo laagai jo satgur apunai raakhay.
One who is protected by the true Guru as his own, faces no obstacles in life.
ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਬਸੇ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੇ ॥੩॥
charan kamal basay rid antar amrit har ras chaakhay. ||3||
He realizes God’s Name dwelling in his heart, and he savors the ambrosial nectar of God’s Name. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ-ਕੰਵਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਸਦਾ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਈ ॥
kar sayvaa sayvak parabh apunay jin man kee ichh pujaa-ee.
So, like a true devotee, engage yourself in the devotional worship of that God who has fulfilled your mind’s desires.
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੨੫॥
naanak daas taa kai balihaarai jin pooran paij rakhaa-ee. ||4||14||25||
O’ Nanak, I am dedicated to that God who has always fully protected my honor. ||4||14||25||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੨੫॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨੁ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੈ ਦੇਵਨਹਾਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
maa-i-aa moh magan anDhi-aarai dayvanhaar na jaanai.
Engrossed in the love for Maya due to spiritual ignorance, one does not realize God, the benefactor.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ।
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਾਜਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਚਿਆ ਬਲੁ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੧॥
jee-o pind saaj jin rachi-aa bal apuno kar maanai. ||1||
By forgetting that God who fashioned his body and gave life to it, the person deems his own power greater than God. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਜਿੰਦ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ) ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਮੂੜੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
man moorhay daykh rahi-o parabh su-aamee.
O foolish mind, the Master-God is watching your deeds.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਕਛੂਐ ਛਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo kichh karahi so-ee so-ee jaanai rahai na kachhoo-ai chhaanee. rahaa-o.
God is aware of whatever you do, nothing remains hidden from Him. ||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, (ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਉਹੀ ਉਹੀ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ) ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਲੁਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਜਿਹਵਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਲੋਭ ਮਦਿ ਮਾਤੋ ਉਪਜੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
jihvaa su-aad lobh mad maato upjay anik bikaaraa.
The human being remains intoxicated with all kinds of relishes of the tongue and greed; out of that are born many kinds of evils.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੀਭ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਲੋਭ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਰਮਤ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਬੰਧਨ ਕੇ ਭਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
bahut jon bharmat dukh paa-i-aa ha-umai banDhan kay bhaaraa. ||2||
Weighed down by the chains of ego, a person wanders through many births and endures immense pain. ||2||
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ੰਜੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ ਹੇਠ ਦਬ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਹੁਤ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਦੇਇ ਕਿਵਾੜ ਅਨਿਕ ਪੜਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਪਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਫਾਕੈ ॥
day-ay kivaarh anik parh-day meh par daaraa sang faakai.
Behind closed doors, hidden by many screens, one commits sin by indulging in illegitimate relationships.
ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਜਬ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਤਬ ਕਉਣੁ ਪੜਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਢਾਕੈ ॥੩॥
chitar gupat jab laykhaa maageh tab ka-un parh-daa tayraa dhaakai. ||3||
When Chitar and Gupat, the scribes of the judge of righteousness, call for the account of your deeds, then who would hide your secrets.? ||3||
ਜਦੋਂ ਚਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਪਤ (ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਦਾ) ਹਿਸਾਬ ਮੰਗਣਗੇ, ਤਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕੇਗਾ ॥੩॥
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਤੁਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਓਟ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥
deen da-i-aal pooran dukh bhanjan tum bin ot na kaa-ee.
O’ the merciful God of the meek, the perfect destroyer of all sorrows, except You we do not have anyone else to support us.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ! ਹੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੬॥
kaadh layho sansaar saagar meh naanak parabh sarnaa-ee. ||4||15||26||
O’ God, Nanak has come to Your refuge, please pull me out of the worldly ocean of vices. ||4||15||26||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲੈ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੬॥

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਹਾਈ ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
paarbarahm ho-aa sahaa-ee kathaa keertan sukh-daa-ee.
The discourses and singing of God’s praises are peace giving, Whoever does that, God becomes his helper.
(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਪਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
gur pooray kee banee jap anad karahu nit paraanee. ||1||
O’ mortal, enjoy divine bliss by singing and chanting the word of the Guru. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਰ, ਤੇ, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
har saachaa simrahu bhaa-ee.
O’ brother, remember the eternal God with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ
saaDhsang sadaa sukh paa-ee-ai har bisar na kabhoo jaa-ee. rahaa-o.
In the holy congregation, we always enjoy spiritual peace and God never goes out of our mind. ||Pause||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਦੇ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸੋ ਜੀਵੈ ॥
amrit naam parmaysar tayraa jo simrai so jeevai.
O’ Supreme God, immortalizing is Your Name; whosoever meditates upon it lives a blissful life.
ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥੀਵੈ ॥੨॥
jis no karam paraapat hovai so jan nirmal theevai. ||2||
One who is blessed with God’s grace, becomes immaculate and pure. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ (ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਬਿਘਨ ਬਿਨਾਸਨ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਸਨ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
bighan binaasan sabh dukh naasan gur charnee man laagaa.
The person whose mind is attuned to the immaculate words of the Guru, all the impediments in his life are destroyed and all his pains flee away.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ,ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਰੁਕਾਵਟਾਂ , ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥੩॥
gun gaavat achut abhinaasee an-din har rang jaagaa. ||3||
By always singing the praises of the eternal God and remaining imbued with His love, one remains awake and alert to the worldly temptations. ||3||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਤੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ॥
man ichhay say-ee fal paa-ay har kee kathaa suhaylee.
Listening to the spiritually comforting praises of God, one receives the fruits of his mind’s desires.
ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਹ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਆ ਬੇਲੀ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੭॥
aad ant maDh naanak ka-o so parabh ho-aa baylee. ||4||16||27||
Even for Nanak, that God has become his helper throughout the life. ||4||16||27||

binsai moh mayraa ar tayraa binsai apnee Dhaaree. ||1||
I wish that my worldly attachmentS, sense of mine and yours, and ego is destroyed. ||1||
ਰੱਬ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਿਤਕਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰਾਪਨ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਇਹਾ ਬਤਾਵਹੁ ਕਾਰੀ ॥
santahu ihaa bataavhu kaaree.
O’ Saints, show me such a way,
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ) ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਦੱਸੋ,
ਜਿਤੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jit ha-umai garab nivaaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
by which my egotism and pride might be eliminated. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣਾ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਰਬ ਭੂਤ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਹੋਵਾਂ ਸਗਲ ਰੇਨਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
sarab bhoot paarbarahm kar maani-aa hovaaN sagal raynaaree. ||2||
I hope that I may experience God pervading everywhere, and I may become the most humble person, as if I am the dust of all. ||2||
(ਜਿਸ ਇਲਾਜ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ, ਤੇ, ਮੈਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਪੇਖਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਸੰਗੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
paykhi-o parabh jee-o apunai sangay chookai bheet bharmaaree. ||3||
I wish that the wall of doubt between me and God is removed, so that I may always experience dear God with me. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ, ਤੇ, (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੰਧ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ॥੩॥
ਅਉਖਧੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੀ ॥੪॥
a-ukhaDh naam nirmal jal amrit paa-ee-ai guroo du-aaree. ||4||
O’ my friend, that cure for all is God’s Name, and this immaculate and immortalizing nectar is received only through the Guru. ||4||
ਉਹ ਦਵਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਰੋਗ ਬਿਦਾਰੀ ॥੫॥੧੭॥੨੮॥
kaho naanak jis mastak likhi-aa tis gur mil rog bidaaree. ||5||17||28||
Nanak says, one who has such pre-ordained destiny, meets with the Guru and his afflictions are cured. ||5||17||28||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ), ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰੋਗ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੫॥੧੭॥੨੮॥
