ਪੂਰਨ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥
pooran paarbarahm parmaysur mayray man sadaa Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||1||
O’ my mind, we should always remember the perfect all-pervading God. ||1||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥
simrahu har har naam paraanee.
O’ human being, remember God’s Name with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਬਿਨਸੈ ਕਾਚੀ ਦੇਹ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
binsai kaachee dayh agi-aanee. rahaa-o.
O’ spiritually ignorant one, this frail body would perish one day. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨ! ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਰੁ ਸੁਪਨ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਵਡਾਈ ॥
marig tarisnaa ar supan manorath taa kee kachh na vadaa-ee.
Illusions and objects obtained in dreams have no importance.
ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਮਾਨ ਗਲਤ-ਫਹਿਮੀਆਂ (ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ) ਅਤੇ ਸੁਫਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਰਾਮ ਭਜਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਸਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
raam bhajan bin kaam na aavas sang na kaahoo jaa-ee. ||2||
Except meditation on God’s Name, nothing else serves any purpose; the worldly riches do not accompany any one in the end. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼) ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ, ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ (ਅੰਤ) ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੨॥
ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਇ ਅਵਰਦਾ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਕਾਮੁ ਨ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
ha-o ha-o karat bihaa-ay avradaa jee-a ko kaam na keenaa.
A person wastes his entire life in trying to satisfy his ego, and does nothing truly useful for his soul.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਜੋ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਲਾਭ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਧਾਵਤ ਧਾਵਤ ਨਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਚੀਨਾ ॥੩॥
Dhaavat Dhaavat nah tariptaasi-aa raam naam nahee cheenaa. ||3||
In Spite of always running after worldly wealth and power, he is neither satiated nor does he reflects on God’s Name. ||3|
(ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਦੌੜਦਾ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਰੱਜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਸਾਦ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਰਸ ਮਾਤੋ ਅਸੰਖ ਖਤੇ ਕਰਿ ਫੇਰੇ ॥
saad bikaar bikhai ras maato asaNkh khatay kar fayray.
Intoxicated with the worldly pleasures, vices and relishes of worldly riches, he commits countless sins and is consigned to the cycle of birth and death.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਚਸਕਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਹਿ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਕਾਟਹੁ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੨੨॥
naanak kee parabh paahi binantee kaatahu avgun mayray. ||4||11||22||
Nanak prays, O’ God, please rid me of my sins. ||4||11||22||
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਕੱਟ ਦੇਹ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੨੨॥

Raag Sorath, Fifth Guru:
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਾਰੇ ॥
gun gaavhu pooran abhinaasee kaam kroDh bikh jaaray.
You should sing Praises of the Perfect and eternal God, so that He may burn down your lust and anger which is a poison for the spiritual life.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੜ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਅਗਨਿ ਕੋ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
mahaa bikham agan ko saagar saaDhoo sang uDhaaray. ||1||
By keeping you in the saint-Guru’s company, God ferries you across the extremely arduous world ocean filled with fierce worldly desires. ||1||
ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਕਠਨ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਟਿਓ ਭਰਮੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥
poorai gur mayti-o bharam anDhayraa.
The perfect Guru has dispelled the darkness of doubt,
(ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਦਾ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਜੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaj paraym bhagat parabh nayraa. rahaa-o.
therefore, you should remember God with loving devotion, and you would experience Him near at hand. ||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਦਿੱਸ ਪਏਗਾ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਰਹੇ ਅਘਾਈ ॥
har har naam niDhaan ras pee-aa man tan rahay aghaa-ee.
One who partakes the sublime essence of the treasure of God’s Name, his mind and body becomes satiated from worldly riches.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਤ ਆਵੈ ਕਤ ਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
jat kat poor rahi-o parmaysar kat aavai kat jaa-ee. ||2||
He experiences God pervading everywhere and he is freed from the cycle of birth and death. ||2||
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਹ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਤ ਬੇਤਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥
jap tap sanjam gi-aan tat baytaa jis man vasai gopaalaa.
One who realizes God’s presence in his mind, receives the merits of all worships, penances and austerities and becomes wise and a knower of reality.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ-ਹਾਰ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਸਲੀ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੰਜਮ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਤਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲਾ ॥੩॥
naam ratan jin gurmukh paa-i-aa taa kee pooran ghaalaa. ||3||
He who has received the jewel like precious Naam through the Guru’s teachings, his hard work for spiritual upliftment has become fruitful. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੀ) ਮੇਹਨਤ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੩॥
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਗਲੇ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ॥
kal kalays mitay dukh saglay kaatee jam kee faasaa.
All his struggles, conflicts and sorrows are dispelled, and the noose of spiritual death is cut off.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਜਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਗਈ
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਬਿਗਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੩॥
kaho naanak parabh kirpaa Dhaaree man tan bha-ay bigaasaa. ||4||12||23||
Nanak says, one on whom God bestowed mercy, his mind and body became delighted. ||4||12||23||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੩॥

ਕਰਣ ਕਰਾਵਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
karan karaavanhaar parabh daataa paarbarahm parabh su-aamee.
God is the Doer, the Cause of causes, the giver and the supreme Master of all.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲੇ ਜੀਅ ਕੀਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੧॥
saglay jee-a kee-ay da-i-aalaa so parabh antarjaamee. ||1||
The merciful God created all beings; that God is the knower of all hearts. ||1||
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸੇ ਦਇਆ-ਦੇ-ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
mayraa gur ho-aa aap sahaa-ee.
The person whose helper becomes my Guru Himself,
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਆਪ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਰਸ ਅਚਰਜ ਭਈ ਬਡਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sookh sahj aanand mangal ras achraj bha-ee badaa-ee. rahaa-o.
that person receives peace, poise, bliss, joys and pleasure; and wondrous becomes his glory. ||Pause||
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ, ਅਡੋਲਤਾ, ਆਨੰਦ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ lਰਹਾਉ॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਏ ਭੈ ਨਾਸੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੇ ॥
gur kee saran pa-ay bhai naasay saachee dargeh maanay.
Those who take the Guru’s refuge and follow his teachings, all their fears go away and they receive honor in God’s presence.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਏ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਥਾਨੇ ॥੨॥
gun gaavat aaraaDh naam har aa-ay apunai thaanay. ||2||
By singing God’s praises and by remembering Him in adoration, they reach their final destination. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਟਿਕਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਸਭ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
jai jai kaar karai sabh ustat sangat saaDh pi-aaree.
Everyone applauds and congratulates the one who starts loving the Guru’s company, the holy congregation.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸੋਭਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
sad balihaar jaa-o parabh apunay jin pooran paij savaaree. ||3||
I am forever dedicated to my God, who has totally preserved my honor. ||3||
ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਗੋਸਟਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
gosat gi-aan naam sun uDhray jin jin darsan paa-i-aa.
whosoever had the blessed vision of the Guru, they have been saved from the onslaught of vices by deliberating and listening to the divine words of wisdom.
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਗਏ।
ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਅਨਦ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੨੪॥
bha-i-o kirpaal naanak parabh apunaa anad saytee ghar aa-i-aa. ||4||13||24||
O’ Nanak, one on whom God has become merciful, blissfully that person has realized God in his heart. ||4||13||24||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੨੪॥

parabh kee saran sagal bhai laathay dukh binsay sukh paa-i-aa.
On seeking God’s refuge, all fears of a person depart, his sufferings disappear, and he receives spiritual peace.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
da-i-aal ho-aa paarbarahm su-aamee pooraa satgur Dhi-aa-i-aa. ||1||
The Supreme Master-God becomes merciful to the one who attunes to the perfect true Guru’s teachings. ||1||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
parabh jee-o too mayro saahib daataa.
O’ reverend God, You are my master and my benefactor.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਉ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh deen da-i-aalaa gun gaava-o rang raataa. rahaa-o.
O’ merciful God of the meek, bestow mercy so that imbued with Your love, I may sing Your praises. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀਜ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਂ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
satgur naam niDhaan drirh-aa-i-aa chintaa sagal binaasee.
The one in whose heart the Guru implanted the treasure of the Naam, all his anxiety went away.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
