ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸੂਤਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੂਤੁ ਖਿੰਚੇ ਢਹਿ ਢੇਰੀ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
aapay hee soot-Dhaar hai pi-aaraa soot khinchay dheh dhayree ho-ay. ||1||
God Himself holds that thread of His power, and when He pulls the thread, the entire universe falls like a heap and is destroyed. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਧਾਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਫੜ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਧਾਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਜਗਤ ਢਹਿ ਕੇ ਢੇਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
mayray man mai har bin avar na ko-ay.
O’ my mind, there is none other than God for me.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਚੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satgur vich naam niDhaan hai pi-aaraa kar da-i-aa amrit mukh cho-ay. rahaa-o.
The treasure of Naam lies with the Guru; bestowing mercy, the Guru trickles the ambrosial nectar in his disciple’s mouths. ||Pause||
ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਚੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਆਪੇ ਜਲ ਥਲਿ ਸਭਤੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
aapay jal thal sabhat hai pi-aaraa parabh aapay karay so ho-ay.
God Himself is present in all the oceans, lands and everywhere; whatever God does, comes to pass.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭਨਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਹਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
sabhnaa rijak samaahadaa pi-aaraa doojaa avar na ko-ay.
The beloved God provides sustenance to all and there is none other than Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਅਪੜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਖੇਲ ਖੇਲਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
aapay khayl khaylaa-idaa pi-aaraa aapay karay so ho-ay. ||2||
The dear God Himself makes all to play the worldly play; whatever He Himself does, comes to pass. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਖੇਡ ਖਿਡਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ॥
aapay hee aap nirmalaa pi-aaraa aapay nirmal so-ay.
The dear God Himself is the most immaculate, and has immaculate reputation.
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ-ਬ-ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਹਰਤ।
ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
aapay keemat paa-idaa pi-aaraa aapay karay so ho-ay.
The beloved God Himself evaluates all; whatever He does comes to pass.
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਲਖਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
aapay alakh na lakhee-ai pi-aaraa aap lakhaavai so-ay. ||3||
God is indescribable, His form cannot be described; He Himself causes some to understand His form. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਪੇ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
aapay gahir gambheer hai pi-aaraa tis jayvad avar na ko-ay.
God Himself is profound and unfathomable; there is none other as great as He.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਸਭਿ ਘਟ ਆਪੇ ਭੋਗਵੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਾਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
sabh ghat aapay bhogvai pi-aaraa vich naaree purakh sabh so-ay.
Being present in all, God Himself enjoys everything; He is dwelling within every woman and man.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨॥
naanak gupat varatdaa pi-aaraa gurmukh pargat ho-ay. ||4||2||
O’ Nanak, beloved God is pervading everywhere in an invisible form; He becomes manifest through the Guru’s teachings. ||4||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥

Raag Sorath, Fourth Guru:
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੈ ॥
aapay hee sabh aap hai pi-aaraa aapay thaap uthaapai.
Dear God Himself is all-in-all; He Himself creates and destroys everything.
ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਚੋਜ ਵੇਖੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੈ ॥
aapay vaykh vigsadaa pi-aaraa kar choj vaykhai parabh aapai.
God Himself rejoices beholding His creation; God Himself works wonders, and beholds them.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੌਤਕ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਵਣਿ ਤਿਣਿ ਸਭਤੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੧॥
aapay van tin sabhat hai pi-aaraa aapay gurmukh jaapai. ||1||
God Himself pervades all the woods and vegetation and is realized by following the Guru’s teachings. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਣ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਤੀਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ॥
jap man har har naam ras Dharaapai.
O’ my mind, always meditate on God’s Name, through the sublime essence of Naam and you shall be satiated.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ। ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਚਖਿ ਜਾਪੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
amrit naam mahaa ras meethaa gur sabdee chakh jaapai. rahaa-o.
The ambrosial nectar of Naam is very sweet, but it’s real taste is realized only by tasting it through the Guru’s word. ||Pause||
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ,ਬਹੁਤ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਚੱਖ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਆਪੇ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਤੁਲਹੜਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੈ ॥
aapay tirath tulharhaa pi-aaraa aap tarai parabh aapai.
God Himself is the sacred river, Himself is the barge and He Himself goes across.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਕੰਢਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਦਰਿਆ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਲੰਘਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਜਾਲੁ ਵਤਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੈ ॥
aapay jaal vataa-idaa pi-aaraa sabh jag machhulee har aapai.
God Himself casts the net of worldly attachments in the worldly ocean, and He Himself is all the fish (human beings) getting caught in the net.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ) ਜਾਲ ਵਿਛਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਮਛਲੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਿ ਅਭੁਲੁ ਨ ਭੁਲਈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਜਾਪੈ ॥੨॥
aap abhul na bhul-ee pi-aaraa avar na doojaa jaapai. ||2||
God Himself is infallible, makes no mistakes, and none other seems like Him. |2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਭੁੱਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਭੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਆਪੇ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਨਾਦੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਧੁਨਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਜਾਏ ਆਪੈ ॥
aapay sinyee naad hai pi-aaraa Dhun aap vajaa-ay aapai.
God Himself is the Yogi’s horn, He Himself plays the horn and Himself the tune coming out of that horn.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਵਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਸਿੰਙੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਿੰਙੀ ਦੀ) ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸਿੰਙੀ ਦੀ) ਸੁਰ ਵਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਤਪੁ ਤਾਪੈ ॥
aapay jogee purakh hai pi-aaraa aapay hee tap taapai.
The beloved God Himself is the all-pervading Yogi and He Himself practices intense meditation.
ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਧੂਣੀਆਂ ਆਦਿਕ ਨਾਲ) ਤਪ ਤਪਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਚੇਲਾ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੈ ॥੩॥
aapay satgur aap hai chaylaa updays karai parabh aapai. ||3||
God Himself is the true Guru, Himself is the disciple and God Himself imparts the teachings. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਪੇ ਨਾਉ ਜਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪੈ ॥
aapay naa-o japaa-idaa pi-aaraa aapay hee jap jaapai.
God Himself inspire people to meditate on Naam; by pervading all human beings, He meditates on Himself.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰਸੁ ਆਪੈ ॥
aapay amrit aap hai pi-aaraa aapay hee ras aapai.
God Himself is the ambrosial nectar and He Himself drinks that elixir of Naam.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਸਲਾਹਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ॥੪॥੩॥
aapay aap salaahadaa pi-aaraa jan naanak har ras Dharaapai. ||4||3||
O’ Nanak, by pervading all human beings God Himself sings His praises, and Himself gets satiated by the relish of Naam. ||4||3||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥

aapay kandaa aap taraajee parabh aapay tol tolaa-i-aa.
God Himself is the balance, Himself the balancing pointer, He Himself has weighed the world and kept it in balance.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਹੈ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦੀ ਸੂਈ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵੱਟੇ ਨਾਲ (ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੋਲਿਆ (ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ) ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਹੁ ਆਪੇ ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
aapay saahu aapay vanjaaraa aapay vanaj karaa-i-aa.
God Himself is the banker, Himself is the trader and Himself makes the trades.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਣਜ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਪਿਛੈ ਟੰਕੁ ਚੜਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
aapay Dhartee saajee-an pi-aarai pichhai tank charhaa-i-aa. ||1||
God Himself fashioned the world and kept it in perfect balance just by His one command. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ (ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦੇ) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਛਾਬੇ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਰ ਮਾਸੇ ਦਾ ਵੱਟਾ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ( ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
mayray man har har Dhi-aa-ay sukh paa-i-aa.
O’ my mind, always meditate God’s Name; whoever has done, has received celestial peace.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, (ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har naam niDhaan hai pi-aaraa gur poorai meethaa laa-i-aa. rahaa-o.
God’s Name is a treasure of bliss, whosoever has followed the Guru’s teachings, the perfect Guru has made it seem pleasing to that person. ||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਆਪੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਆਪਿ ਜਲੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
aapay Dhartee aap jal pi-aaraa aapay karay karaa-i-aa.
Dear God Himself is the earth, Himself the water, and He Himself does and gets everything done.
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਜਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਲੁ ਮਾਟੀ ਬੰਧਿ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥
aapay hukam varatdaa pi-aaraa jal maatee banDh rakhaa-i-aa.
God Himself is controlling everything according to His Commands; his command keeps the water and the land bound together.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਕਾਰ ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਭਉ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬੰਨਿ ਬਕਰੀ ਸੀਹੁ ਹਢਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
aapay hee bha-o paa-idaa pi-aaraa bann bakree seehu hadhaa-i-aa. ||2||He
Himself has instilled fear in the ocean that it cannot dissolve the land, as if tying a goat and a lion together and making them walk together. ||2||
(ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਡਰ ਪਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਬੱਕਰੀ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਫਿਰਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
