ਰਾਜਨ ਕਿਉ ਸੋਇਆ ਤੂ ਨੀਦ ਭਰੇ ਜਾਗਤ ਕਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
raajan ki-o so-i-aa too need bharay jaagat kat naahee raam.
O’ dear king, why are you in a state of deep sleep in the love of Maya, why don’t you wake up?
ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੌਂ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ? ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ?
ਮਾਇਆ ਝੂਠੁ ਰੁਦਨੁ ਕੇਤੇ ਬਿਲਲਾਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
maa-i-aa jhooth rudan kaytay billaahee raam.
For the sake of Maya, so many persons are wailing and shedding false tears.
ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਝੂਠਾ ਰੋਣ-ਕੁਰਲਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਵਿਲਕਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਲਲਾਹਿ ਕੇਤੇ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ॥
billaahi kaytay mahaa mohan bin naam har kay sukh nahee.
So many cry out for Maya, the great enticer, but there is no peace without remembering God’s Name.
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਇਸ ਡਾਢੀ ਮਨ-ਮੋਹਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਤਰਲੇ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ।
ਸਹਸ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਉਪਾਵ ਥਾਕੇ ਜਹ ਭਾਵਤ ਤਹ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
sahas si-aanap upaav thaakay jah bhaavat tah jaahee.
People get exhausted making thousands of clever efforts, but they go where God wishes.
ਜੀਵ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਚਤੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਹੀਲੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਜਿਧਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਮਧਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਹੀ ॥
aad antay maDh pooran sarbatar ghat ghat aahee.
In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, God is pervading everywhere; He is in each and every heart.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਮੁ ਸੇ ਪਤਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
binvant naanak jin saaDhsangam say pat saytee ghar jaahee. ||2||
Nanak submits, those who meet and follow the Guru’s teachings, go to God’s presence with honor. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਨਰਪਤਿ ਜਾਣਿ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਓ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
narpat jaan garahi-o sayvak si-aanay raam.
O’ king, you have wise servants in the palace, but know that,
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਾ! ਸਮਝ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ,
ਸਰਪਰ ਵੀਛੁੜਣਾ ਮੋਹੇ ਪਛੁਤਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
sarpar veechhurhanaa mohay pachhutaanay raam.
they will certainly separate from you and their attachment shall make you feel regretful.
ਨਿਸਚਿੱਤ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਵਿਛੜਨਾ ਹੈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ।
ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਕਹਾ ਅਸਥਿਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
harichand-uree daykh bhoolaa kahaa asthit paa-ee-ai.
Just as a person may go astray upon seeing an imaginary beautiful city in the sky but cannot find rest anywhere,
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲੀ ਨਗਰੀ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਆਨ ਰਚਨਾ ਅਹਿਲਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ॥
bin naam har kay aan rachnaa ahilaa janam gavaa-ee-ai.
similarly engrossed in worldly affairs, without meditating on God’s Name, we waste the precious human life.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ, ਜਗਤ-ਚਰਨਾ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਗਵਾ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤ ਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਨਹ ਕਾਂਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਗਿਆਨੇ ॥
ha-o ha-o karat na tarisan boojhai nah kaaNm pooran gi-aanay.
Indulged in self-conceit, yearning for worldly desires is not quenched; and one neither attains spiritual wisdom nor achieves the purpose of human life.
ਮੈਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਕੇਤਿਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੇ ॥੩॥
binvant naanak bin naam har kay kayti-aa pachhutaanay. ||3||
Nanak submits, without meditating on God’s Name, many people have departed from the world with regret. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਹੱਥ ਮਲਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੋ ਅਪਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Dhaar anugraho apnaa kar leenaa raam.
Bestowing mercy, whom God accepts as His own,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਭੁਜਾ ਗਹਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਓ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਦੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhujaa geh kaadh lee-o saaDhoo sang deenaa raam.
and extending help, He pulls that one from the ditch of worldly attachments and blesses him with the company of the Guru.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹੋਂ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਰਾਧੇ ਸਗਲ ਕਲਮਲ ਦੁਖ ਜਲੇ ॥
saaDhsangam har araaDhay sagal kalmal dukh jalay.
One who lovingly remembers God in the Guru’s company, all his sorrows and sins are burnt off.
ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਹਾ ਧਰਮ ਸੁਦਾਨ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸੇ ਚਲੇ ॥
mahaa Dharam sudaan kiri-aa sang tayrai say chalay.
Meditation on Naam is the greatest religion and the best act of charity; this alone can go along with you in the end.
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ-ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਰਸਨਾ ਅਰਾਧੈ ਏਕੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਭੀਨਾ ॥
rasnaa araaDhai ayk su-aamee har naam man tan bheenaa.
One who with his tongue keeps reciting in adoration the Name of the one Master-God, his heart and mind become drenched in God’s Name.
ਜੋ ਭੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਤਰੋ-ਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸੋ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣ ਪਰਬੀਨਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੯॥
naanak jis no har milaa-ay so sarab gun parbeenaa. ||4||6||9||
O’ Nanak, whom God unites with Himself, becomes wise and virtuouses. ||4||6||9||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੬॥੯॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Shalok, Third Guru:
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹੋਰ ਥੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਭਾਲਿ ॥
gur sayvaa tay sukh paa-ee-ai hor thai sukh na bhaal.
Celestial peace comes only by following the Guru’s teachings; do not search for peace anywhere else.
ਸੁਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਹ ਢੂੰਢ,
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਭੇਦੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਵਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
gur kai sabad man bhaydee-ai sadaa vasai har naal.
We always feel God’s presence with us when our mind is totally convinced with the Guru’s divine word.
ਜਦੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
naanak naam tinaa ka-o milai jin har vaykhai nadar nihaal. ||1||
O’ Nanak, only they receive Naam, on whom God casts His glance of grace. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਹਰੀ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Third Guru:
ਸਿਫਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਬਖਸ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੈ ਸੋ ਖਰਚੈ ਖਾਇ ॥
sifat khajaanaa bakhas hai jis bakhsai so kharchai khaa-ay.
The treasure of God’s praises is a blessed gift; he alone enjoys it, unto whom He bestows it.
ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਰਚਦਾ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਾਂਦਾ (ਆਨੰਦ ਲੈਂਦਾ) ਹੈ
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਸਭ ਥਕੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
satgur bin hath na aavee sabh thakay karam kamaa-ay.
People grow weary of performing all kinds of rituals, but this blessing cannot be received without following the teachings of the true Guru.
ਬਥੇਰੇ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ (ਇਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਧਨਹੀਣੁ ਹੈ ਅਗੈ ਭੁਖਾ ਕਿ ਖਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak manmukh jagat Dhanheen hai agai bhukhaa ke khaa-ay. ||2||
O’ Nanak, this conceited world is without the wealth of Naam; without the wealth Naam, I wonder what would be their fate in future. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਨ ਦਾ ਅਧੀਨ (ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਭੁੱਲਾ) ਹੋਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅਸਲ ਧਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ) ਦਾ ਭੁਖਾ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥

ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਸਭਸ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੁਧੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
sabh tayree too sabhas daa sabh tuDh upaa-i-aa.
O’ God, the universe is Yours, You are the Master of all and You have created all.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਤੂ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਤੂ ਸਭਨੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
sabhnaa vich too varatdaa too sabhnee Dhi-aa-i-aa.
You are pervading within all and all meditate on You.
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ (ਜੀਵਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਸ ਦੀ ਤੂ ਭਗਤਿ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਇਹਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
tis dee too bhagat thaa-ay paa-ihi jo tuDh man bhaa-i-aa.
You approve the devotional worship of that person who is pleasing to Your mind.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਤੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਸਭਿ ਕਰਨਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
jo har parabh bhaavai so thee-ai sabh karan tayraa karaa-i-aa.
O’ God, whatever pleases You that happens, all do what You make them to do?
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ) ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਲਾਹਿਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਤੇ ਵਡਾ ਜੋ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥
salaahihu har sabhnaa tay vadaa jo sant janaaN kee paij rakh-daa aa-i-aa. ||1||
Praise that God who is highest of all and has been preserving the honor of the saints.||1||
ਜੋ ਹਰੀ (ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ) ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰੋ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਗੁ ਜੀਤਾ ਜਗਿ ਜੀਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
naanak gi-aanee jag jeetaa jag jeetaa sabh ko-ay.
O’ Nanak, the spiritually wise has conquered all the allurements of the world, but these allurements have conquered everyone else.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਨੂੰ) ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹਰ ਇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਮੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਿਧਿ ਹੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
naamay kaaraj siDh hai sehjay ho-ay so ho-ay.
The spiritual life becomes successful by meditation on Naam and one realizes that whatever is happening is happening intuitively according to God’s will.
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇੰਜ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਅਚਲੁ ਹੈ ਚਲਾਇ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
gurmat mat achal hai chalaa-ay na sakai ko-ay.
Through the Guru’s teachings, the intellect of a person becomes exalted and steady which cannot be shaken by worldly allurements.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਮੱਤ ਪੱਕੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ (ਮਾਇਕ ਵਿਹਾਰ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡੁਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਭਗਤਾ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
bhagtaa kaa har angeekaar karay kaaraj suhaavaa ho-ay.
God protects the devotees and their every task is always accomplished beautifully.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਰਾਸ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
