ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
gurmukh manhu na veesrai har jee-o kartaa purakh muraaree raam.
The all-pervading reverend God, the Creator, does not go out of the mind by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ।
ਦੂਖੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
dookh rog na bha-o bi-aapai jinHee har har Dhi-aa-i-aa.
Sorrow, disease and dread do not afflict those who always remember God.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਗ, ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ, ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਰੇ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
sant parsaad taray bhavjal poorab likhi-aa paa-i-aa.
By the Guru’s grace, they cross over the terrifying world-ocean of vices and thus they fulfill their preordained destiny.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖ ਉਹ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਵਜੀ ਵਧਾਈ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਆਈ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥
vajee vaDhaa-ee man saaNt aa-ee mili-aa purakh apaaree.
They realized the infinite God, their mind received celestial peace and they felt jubilant.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਠੰਡ ਪੈ ਗਈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ l
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੩॥
binvant naanak simar har har ichh punnee hamaaree. ||4||3||
Nanak submits, by meditating on God’s Name my desire is fulfilled. ||4||3||

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ‘ਹੋਂਦ ਵਾਲਾ’ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਧੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਰੈਨੜੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਲਗਾ ॥
vaDh sukh rainrhee-ay pari-a paraym lagaa.
O’ blissful night of my life, grow longer, because I am imbued with the love of my beloved God.
ਹੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ (ਜੀਵਨ) ਰਾਤ! ਤੂੰ ਲੰਮੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨਾਲ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਘਟੁ ਦੁਖ ਨੀਦੜੀਏ ਪਰਸਉ ਸਦਾ ਪਗਾ ॥
ghat dukh need-rhee-ay parsa-o sadaa pagaa.
O’ painful sleep (due to my carelessness regarding God’s remembrance), grow shorter, so that I may always keep enjoying His love.
ਹੇ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਕੋਝੀ (ਗ਼ਫ਼ਲਤ ਦੀ) ਨੀਂਦ! ਤੂੰ ਘਟਦੀ ਜਾ, ਮੈਂ (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਚ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਛੁੰਹਦੀ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਪਗ ਧੂਰਿ ਬਾਂਛਉ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਚਉ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਬੈਰਾਗਨੀ ॥
pag Dhoor baaNchha-o sadaa jaacha-o naam ras bairaaganee.
I long for the love of God’s Name and always wish that I may remain detached from the world while enjoying the relish of Naam.
ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਲੋਚਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਇਹੀ ਮੰਗਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਵੈਰਾਗਵਾਨ ਹੋਈ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜ ਮਾਤੀ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਨੀ ॥
pari-a rang raatee sahj maatee mahaa durmat ti-aaganee.
Imbued with the love of my beloved God and elated in the spiritual poise, I wish to renounce my extremely bad intellect.
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਹੋਈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ ਦਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਾਂ।
ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭੀਨੀ ਮਿਲਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਚ ਮਗਾ ॥
geh bhujaa leenHee paraym bheenee milan pareetam sach magaa.
God has made me His own and I am imbued with His love; the righteous way of life is to wish and work for the union with the eternal God.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਹੀ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ) ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਹਉ ਚਰਣਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਗਾ ॥੧॥
binvant naanak Dhaar kirpaa raha-o charnah sang lagaa. ||1||
Nanak humbly submits, O’ God,bestow mercy so that I may keep remembering You with loving devotion. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ (-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੀ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਹੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਚਰਣਿ ਲਗਹ ॥
mayree sakhee sahaylrheeho parabh kai charan lagah.
O’ my friends and companions, let us remember God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਖੀਹੋ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ! ਆਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀਏ।
ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਘਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਮੰਗਹ ॥
man pari-a paraym ghanaa har kee bhagat mangah.
With intense love for beloved God in our heart, let us beg from Him for the gift devotional worship.
ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਓ ਅਸੀਂ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮੰਗੀਏ।
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਜਨਾ ॥
har bhagat paa-ee-ai parabh Dhi-aa-ee-ai jaa-ay milee-ai har janaa.
Let us go and meet God’s devotees and lovingly remember God; this is how we would receive the Gift of devotional worship.
ਆਓ ਆਪਾਂ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੀਏ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਾਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ।
ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੁ ਤਜੀਐ ਅਰਪਿ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨਾ ॥
maan moh bikaar tajee-ai arap tan Dhan ih manaa.
We should surrender our body, wealth and this mind to God after abandoning our ego, love for Maya and vices.
ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ, ਸਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਭਗਹ ॥
bad purakh pooran gun sampooran bharam bheet har har mil bhagah.
That supreme, all-pervading, perfect God is full of virtues; upon meeting Him, we should demolish the wall of doubt (which separates us from Him).
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਢਾਹ ਦੇਈਏ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਖੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜਪਹ ॥੨॥
binvant naanak sun mantar sakhee-ay har naam nit nit nit japah. ||2||
Nanak submits, O’ my friend, listen to my suggestion, we should remember God’s Name at all the times. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੇਰੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ, ਆਓ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹੀਏ ॥੨॥
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਣੇ ਸਭਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ॥
har naar suhaaganay sabh rang maanay.
The soul-bride who totally surrenders to Husband-God, she becomes fortunate and enjoys all kinds of pleasures and bliss.
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਰਾਂਡ ਨ ਬੈਸਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਚਿਰਾਣੇ ॥
raaNd na bais-ee parabh purakh chiraanay.
She is never without her Husband-God, because He is eternal.
ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਿਖਸਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੰਤ ਚਿਰੰਜੀਵੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਹ ਦੂਖ ਪਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਧੰਨਿ ਤੇ ਬਡਭਾਗੀਆ ॥
nah dookh paavai parabh Dhi-aavai Dhan tay badbhaagee-aa.
Such soul-brides never suffer any sorrow because they always remember their Husband-God; they become very fortunate and worthy of praise.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਇੰਜ ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਯੋਗ ਤੇ ਵਢੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ l
ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੋਵਹਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਖੋਵਹਿ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗੀਆ ॥
sukh sahj soveh kilbikh khoveh naam ras rang jaagee-aa.
The soul-brides who remain awake and aware in the relish and love of Naam, erase all their sins and spend their life in peace and poise.
ਜੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਤੇ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਹਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਹਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬਚਨ ਮੀਠੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥
mil paraym rahnaa har naam gahnaa pari-a bachan meethay bhaanay.
The soul-brides who live harmoniously in the holy congregation, deck their life with the ornament of God’s Name, and the words of praises of their beloved-God seem sweet to them.
ਜੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨ ਇਛ ਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਚਿਰਾਣੇ ॥੩॥

Nanak submits, their heartfelt desire gets fulfilled and they realize Husband-God, who is eternal. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤਿਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸੋਹਿਲੜੇ ਕੋਡ ਅਨੰਦਾ ॥
tit garihi sohilrhay kod anandaa.
Millions of songs of joy and bliss resound in the heart of that person,
ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਖ਼ੁਸੀ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੂੰਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥
man tan rav rahi-aa parabh parmaanandaa.
whose mind and heart are permeated by God, the Master of supreme bliss.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਤਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਵਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤ ਅਨੰਤ ਦਇਆਲ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣੋ ॥
har kant anant da-i-aal sareeDhar gobind patit uDhaarano.
The Husband-God is infinite, merciful, master of wealth, cherisher of the universe and savior of sinners.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ, ਲੱਛਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਭੈ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਤਾਰਣੋ ॥
parabh kirpaa Dhaaree har muraaree bhai sinDh saagar taarno.
The person on whom God has shown mercy is ferried across the dreadful worldly ocean of vices.
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਹਿਮਾਂ-ਭਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਵੈ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਦਾ ॥
jo saran aavai tis kanth laavai ih birad su-aamee sandaa.
The Master-God lovingly accepts and protects whoever seeks His refuge, this is His primal tradition.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੰਦਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥
binvant naanak har kant mili-aa sadaa kayl karandaa. ||4||1||4||
Nanak submits that he has met his Husband-God, who always keeps doing spiritually wonderful plays and frolics. ||4||1||4||

The immaculate Name of God is like a beautiful pool; O’ my mind, make that pool as your permanent dwelling.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੁ।
