ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਹੇ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਚਿਤਵਹਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਜਾ ਆਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਰਿਆ ॥
kaahay ray man chitvahi udam jaa aahar har jee-o pari-aa.
O’ mind, why do you keep worrying about the efforts for sustenance, about which God is already taking care of it?
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ (ਉਸ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਕਿਉਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜੇਹੜਾ (ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਦੇ) ਆਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਲੱਗਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੈਲ ਪਥਰ ਮਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਏ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਧਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
sail pathar meh jant upaa-ay taa kaa rijak aagai kar Dhari-aa. ||1||
Even in desolate rocks and stones , He created the living beings, and He has already placed their sustenance there. ||1||
(ਵੇਖ,) ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ) ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੀ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਿ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
mayray maaDha-o jee satsangat milay se tari-aa.
O’ my dear God, whosoever joins the congregation of saintly persons is able to cross the worldly ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੂਕੇ ਕਾਸਟ ਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parsaad param pad paa-i-aa sookay kaasat hari-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By Guru’s grace, he attains the highest spiritual status and regains such new spiritual energy, like a dry tree becoming green again.||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਉਂ ਹਰੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਸੁੱਕੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਨਨਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
janan pitaa lok sut banitaa ko-ay na kis kee Dhari-aa.
O’ my mind, Mother, father, friends, children, and spouse, no one is the support you can depend upon.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਮਾਂ, ਪਿਉ, ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕ, ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਾਹੇ ਮਨ ਭਉ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
sir sir rijak sambaahay thaakur kaahay man bha-o kari-aa. ||2||
O’ my mind, God provides sustenance for each and every individual, why do you fear about it? ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਅਪੜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ (ਰਿਜ਼ਕ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਕਿਉਂ ਸਹਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ॥੨॥
ਊਡੈ ਊਡਿ ਆਵੈ ਸੈ ਕੋਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਬਚਰੇ ਛਰਿਆ ॥
oodai ood aavai sai kosaa tis paachhai bachray chhari-aa.
The flamingos fly hundreds of miles leaving their young ones behind.
(ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਵੇਖ, ਕੂੰਜ) ਉੱਡਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉੱਡ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲ੍ਹਣੇ ਤੋਂ) ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਕੋਹ (ਦੂਰ) ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ ਕਵਨੁ ਖਲਾਵੈ ਕਵਨੁ ਚੁਗਾਵੈ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
un kavan khalaavai kavan chugaavai man meh simran kari-aa. ||3||
Tell me, who feeds them and who teaches them to feed in the absence of the mother? The flamingo only keeps remembering them, and through God’s mysterious arrangements, these offsprings keep surviving.
(ਦੱਸ,) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ (ਚੋਗਾ) ਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕੌਣ ਚੋਗਾ ਚੁਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ? (ਕੂੰਜ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ! ਇਸ ਯਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਬੱਚੇ ਪਲਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੩॥
ਸਭ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਸ ਅਸਟ ਸਿਧਾਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਰ ਤਲ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
sabh niDhaan das asat sidhaan thaakur kar tal Dhari-aa.
All treasures and the eighteen supernatural spiritual powers of the Siddhas are in God’s control as if these are in the palm of His hand.
(ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ, ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ (ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ)-ਇਹ ਸਭ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਲੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan naanak bal bal sad bal jaa-ee-ai tayraa ant na paraavari-aa. ||4||1||
Servant Nanak is devoted, dedicated, and forever a sacrifice to You – Your vast expanse of powers has no limit. ||4||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਤੇਰਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਰਿਆਚਾਰ ਕਰਹਿ ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਇਤੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥
kiri-aachaar karahi khat karmaa it raatay sansaaree.
The world is obsessed with performing rituals and religious rites.
ਦੁਨੀਆਦਾਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ, ਸੰਧਿਆ ਆਦਿਕ) ਛੇ (ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ) ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
antar mail na utrai ha-umai bin gur baajee haaree. ||1||
Their filth of ego is not cleansed from within; without the guidance of the Guru, they lose the game of life. ||1||
ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਨਹੀਂ ਉਤਰਦੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
mayray thaakur rakh layvhu kirpaa Dhaaree.
O’ God, show mercy and save me from evils and vices.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਹੋਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kot maDhay ko virlaa sayvak hor saglay bi-uhaaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Out of millions, hardly anyone is your true devotee; and the remaing people merely perform rituals so that could fulfill desires. ||1||Pause||
(ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਤੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ) ਭਗਤ ਹੈ (ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਤਲਬੀ ਹੀ ਹਨ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਤਲਬ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਭਿ ਸੋਧੇ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਬਾਤ ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ॥
saasat bayd simrit sabh soDhay sabh aykaa baat pukaaree.
I have searched all the Shastras, Vedas and Simritees, they all affirm one thing,
ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ, ਸਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਸਾਂ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਏ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੀ ਇਹੀ ਇਕੋ ਗੱਲ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
bin gur mukat na ko-oo paavai man vaykhhu kar beechaaree. ||2||
that without the Guru, no one obtains liberation from vices; reflect upon this in your mind. ||2||
ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਤੁਸੀ ਭੀ ਬੇ-ਸ਼ੱਕ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ (ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਏ ਧਰ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
athsath majan kar isnaanaa bharam aa-ay Dhar saaree.
Even if one takes cleansing baths at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, and wanders over the entire planet,
ਲੋਕ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਤੇ, ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਭੌਂ ਕੇ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਅਨਿਕ ਸੋਚ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੀ ॥੩॥
anik soch karahi din raatee bin satgur anDhi-aaree. ||3||
and performs all the rituals of purification day and night; still, without the true Guru, there is only spiritual darkness. ||3||
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹੋਰ ਭੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ, ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਧਾਵਤ ਧਾਵਤ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਧਾਇਓ ਅਬ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੀ ॥
Dhaavat Dhaavat sabh jag Dhaa-i-o ab aa-ay har du-aaree.
Roaming and wandering around, I have travelled and searched over the whole world, and now, I have arrived at God’s refuge.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਭੌਂ ਭੌਂ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਭੌਂ ਕੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਡਿੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੇਟਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥
durmat mayt buDh pargaasee jan naanak gurmukh taaree. ||4||1||2||
God has eliminated my evil-mindedness and enlightened my intellect; O’ Nanak, the Guru, helpes them to cross the worldly ocean of vices.||4||1||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਅਕਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥

ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਾਪ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਤਾਪ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
har Dhan jaap har Dhan taap har Dhan bhojan bhaa-i-aa.
The wealth of God’s Name is my devotional worship, contemplation and the most pleasing spiritual food.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਦੇਵ-ਪੂਜਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲਈ) ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗੀ
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਉ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
nimakh na bisara-o man tay har har saaDhsangat meh paa-i-aa. ||1||
I do not forsake it from my mind even for a moment; I have obtained this wealth in the society of the holy saints.||1||
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਂਦਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਧਨ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਲੱਭਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਈ ਖਾਟਿ ਆਇਓ ਘਰਿ ਪੂਤਾ ॥
maa-ee khaat aa-i-o ghar pootaa.
O’ my mother, your son has returned home after earning the wealth of Naam,
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! (ਕਿਸੇ ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ) ਪੁੱਤਰ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆਇਆ ਸਮਝ,
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਚਲਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਬੈਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਾਗਤ ਸੂਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har Dhan chaltay har Dhan baisay har Dhan jaagat sootaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
which is always with me when I am walking or sitting and when I am awake or when I am asleep. ||1||Pause||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਤੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਇ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
har Dhan isnaan har Dhan gi-aan har sang laa-ay Dhi-aanaa.
O’ mother for me collecting the wealth of God’s Name is like taking ritual baths at holy places; Naamis my spiritual wisdom and in Naam I have attuned my mind.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਣੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।)
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਬੇੜੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
har Dhan tulhaa har Dhan bayrhee har har taar paraanaa. ||2||
the wealth of Naam is like my raft, my boat, and also the boatman, who ferries me across the worldly ocean of vices. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਨਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਲਈ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬੇੜੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਅਪੜਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
