Siree Raag, by the Fifth Guru:
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
mil satgur sabh dukh ga-i-aa har sukh vasi-aa man aa-ay.
Meeting the True Guru and following his teachings, one’s sufferings end, and the mind is filled with the bliss of God’ Name.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੀਆ ਏਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
antar jot pargaasee-aa aykas si-o liv laa-ay.
By attuning to the One God, one’s mind is illuminated with the Divine Light.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲਾ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇ ॥
mil saaDhoo mukh oojlaa poorab likhi-aa paa-ay.
By meeting the Saint-Guru, one’s face becomes radiant by realizing the pre-ordained destiny.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਹਿਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਨੇਕ ਕਮਾਈ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਲੇਖ ਉੱਘੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵਣੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੧॥
gun govind nit gaavnay nirmal saachai naa-ay. ||1||
By always remaining attuned to immaculate Name of God, singing His praises becomes one’s daily routine.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜ ਕੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣ ਦਾ ਆਹਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
mayray man gur sabdee sukh ho-ay.
O’ my mind, by following the Guru’s word, peace is obtained.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pooray kee chaakree birthaa jaa-ay na ko-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The efforts of the one, who live by the Perfect Guru’s teaching, do not go waste.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ l
ਮਨ ਕੀਆ ਇਛਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
man kee-aa ichhaaN pooree-aa paa-i-aa naam niDhaan.
One’s desires are fulfilled when the Treasure of God’s Name is obtained.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਾਹਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ l
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥
antarjaamee sadaa sang karnaihaar pachhaan.
The knower of all hearts is always with him, the Creator to him is like a friend.
ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲਾ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
gur parsaadee mukh oojlaa jap naam daan isnaan.
Through the Guru’s Grace, by meditating on God’s Name, one develops compassion and by righteous living becomes honorable.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ (ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਚਰਨ (ਬਣਾ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਚਮਕ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਤਜਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
kaam kroDh lobh binsi-aa taji-aa sabh abhimaan. ||2||
Lust, anger and greed are eliminated, and all egotistical pride is abandoned.
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਉੱਕਾ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਹਾ ਲਾਭੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਮ ॥
paa-i-aa laahaa laabh naam pooran ho-ay kaam.
The reward of the meditation on Naam is obtained and all affairs are completed.
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਵਣਜ ਵਿਚ) ਲਾਭ (ਵਜੋਂ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ l
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਦੀਆ ਅਪਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh mayli-aa dee-aa apnaa naam.
Showing mercy, God has bestowed Naam and has united with Himself.
(ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ।
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਇਆ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਆ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
aavan jaanaa reh ga-i-aa aap ho-aa miharvaan.
God Himself has become merciful, and the cycle of birth and death has ended.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
sach mahal ghar paa-i-aa gur kaa sabad pachhaan. ||3||
By understanding and following the Guru’s teaching, one realizes God in his heart.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਨਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
bhagat janaa ka-o raakh-daa aapnee kirpaa Dhaar.
Showing His Grace, God protects and saves His devotees from the vices.
ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਆਦਿ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲੇ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿ ॥
halat palat mukh oojlay saachay kay gun saar.
By reflecting on the virtues of God, the devotees obtain honor in this world and in the God’s Court.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਭਗਤਾਂ) ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਦੇ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
aath pahar gun saarday ratay rang apaar..
Imbued with the love of the limitless God, they always keep reflecting on His virtues.
ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਭਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੮੧॥
paarbarahm sukh saagro naanak sad balihaar. ||4||11||81||
O’ Nanak, they dedicate themselves to the Supreme God, the ocean of peace.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥

Siree Raag, by the Fifth Guru:
ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
pooraa satgur jay milai paa-ee-ai sabad niDhaan.
If we meet the Perfect Guru, we can obtain the Treasure of Divine Word.
ਜੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ (ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਪੀਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh aapnee japee-ai amrit naam.
O’ God, Please grant Your Grace, that we may meditate with loving devotion on Your Ambrosial Naam.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਤਾ ਕਿ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ (ਅਸੀ) ਜਪ ਸਕੀਏ l
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੀਐ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥
janam maran dukh kaatee-ai laagai sahj Dhi-aan. ||1||
We may escape from the pains of the cycles of birth and death, and our mind may intuitively be centered on You.
ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਸਕੀਏ, ਤੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਏ l
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥
mayray man parabh sarnaa-ee paa-ay.
O’ my mind, seek the Sanctuary of God.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਉ l
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har bin doojaa ko nahee ayko naam Dhi-aa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Except God, there is no one else who can save you from the vices. Therefore, meditate with loving devotion on the Name of God alone.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਰਾਖਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ l
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਅਥਾਹੁ ॥
keemat kahan na jaa-ee-ai saagar gunee athaahu.
His worth cannot be described; He is an unfathomable Ocean of virtues.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਆਖਿਆ (ਪਾਇਆ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਹ ਬੇ-ਇਨਤਹਾ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਿਲੁ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥
vadbhaagee mil sangtee sachaa sabad visaahu.
O’ my fortunate mind, join the holy congregation and acquire the treasure of Divine Word.
ਹੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ! ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ, ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਹਾਝ ਲੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ॥੨॥
kar sayvaa sukh saagrai sir saahaa paatisaahu. ||2||
Remember God with loving devotion, who is the ocean of bliss and king of kings.
ਸੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ l
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥
charan kamal kaa aasraa doojaa naahee thaa-o.
O’ God, I lean only on You. You are my only support,
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, (ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਮੈ ਧਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੇਰੈ ਤਾਣਿ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mai Dhar tayree paarbarahm tayrai taan rahaa-o.
O’ God, You are my only support, and I exist only by your power.
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਓਟ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ (ਦਿੱਤੇ) ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਣੁ ਤੂੰ ਤੇਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੩॥
nimaani-aa parabh maan tooN tayrai sang samaa-o. ||3||
O’ God, You are the Honor of those who are meek . Please show mercy so that I may always remain merged with You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਹੈਂ, ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਾਂ l
ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥
har japee-ai aaraaDhee-ai aath pahar govind.
O’ my mind, day and night recite and meditate on God with loving devotion.
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ!) ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਧ।
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਰਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਰਾਖੀ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥
jee-a paraan tan Dhan rakhay kar kirpaa raakhee jind.
He preserves our soul, body and wealth. By His Grace, He protects our life.
ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ, ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਦੀ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੋਖ ਉਤਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੮੨॥
naanak saglay dokh utaari-an parabh paarbarahm bakhsind. ||4||12||82||
O’ Nanak, the merciful God is ever forgiving, and He washes away all the sins of His devotees.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆਂ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚ ਸਿਉ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥

I have fallen in love with the ever-existing reality (God), who never dies and is free from cycle of birth and death.
ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੋ ਨਾਹ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾ ਵੇਛੋੜਿਆ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
naa vaychhorhi-aa vichhurhai sabh meh rahi-aa samaa-ay.
Even if one tries to separate from Him, He does not get separated, because He pervades in all.
ਉਹ ਵਿਛੋੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਦਾ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੀਨ ਦਰਦ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਸਤ ਭਾਇ ॥
deen darad dukh bhanjnaa sayvak kai sat bhaa-ay.
He is the destroyer of the pain and suffering of the meek. He bears goodwill towards His devotees.
ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਦ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਲੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਚਰਜ ਰੂਪੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਇਆ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
achraj roop niranjano gur maylaa-i-aa maa-ay. ||1||
O’ mother, through the Guru, I have met the wondrous and immaculate God.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਅਸਚਰਜ ਸਰੂਪ, ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ (ਪਵਿੱਤਰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ l
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਮੀਤੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
bhaa-ee ray meet karahu parabh so-ay.
O’ brother, make that God your friend.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਤੂੰ ਭੀ) ਉਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ।
