ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
mayray man har har naam Dhi-aa-ay.
O’ my mind, always remember God’s Name with adoration.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਹਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਆਗੈ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam sahaa-ee sadaa sang aagai la-ay chhadaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
God’s Name is the helper, it always remains with a person, and saves one even hereafter. ||1||pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਲੇਖਾ ਹੋਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਛਡਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਕਵਨੈ ਆਵਹਿ ਕਾਮਿ ॥
dunee-aa kee-aa vadi-aa-ee-aa kavnai aavahi kaam.
O’ my mind, what good are worldly praises?
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ!) ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕੰਮ ਹਨ?
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਫਿਕਾ ਜਾਤੋ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥
maa-i-aa kaa rang sabh fikaa jaato binas nidaan.
All the pleasures of Maya (worldly riches and powers) are temporary and fade away in the end.
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਫਿਕਾ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਰੰਗ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਸੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
jaa kai hirdai har vasai so pooraa parDhaan. ||2||
One in whose heart is enshrined God, he becomes virtuous and is recognized everywhere. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਮੰਨਿਆ-ਪ੍ਰਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਹੋਹੁ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥
saaDhoo kee hohu raynukaa apnaa aap ti-aag.
O’ my mind, renounce your ego and humbly accept the Guru’s teachings.
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ।
ਉਪਾਵ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸਗਲ ਛਡਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥
upaav si-aanap sagal chhad gur kee charnee laag.
O’ my mind, give up all cleverness and other efforts, remain in the refuge of the Guru and follow his teachings.
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਤੇ ਚਤੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ।
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਭਾਗੁ ॥੩॥
tiseh paraapat ratan ho-ay jis mastak hovai bhaag. ||3||
Only that person receives God’s precious Name who has such preordained destiny. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ (ਪੂਰਬਲਾ) ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਤਨ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਭਾਈਹੋ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ॥
tisai paraapat bhaa-eeho jis dayvai parabh aap.
O’ brothers, only that person receives God’s Name, whom He Himself bestows it.
ਹੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਾਪੁ ॥
satgur kee sayvaa so karay jis binsai ha-umai taap.
Only that person follows the true Guru’s teachings whose malady of ego has vanished.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਭੀ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਤਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੪॥੮॥੭੮॥
naanak ka-o gur bhayti-aa binsay sagal santaap. ||4||8||78|
Nanak has met the Divine-Guru, and all his sufferings have ended. ||4||8||78||
ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੮॥੭੮॥

Siree Raag, Fifth Guru:
ਇਕੁ ਪਛਾਣੂ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਇਕੋ ਰਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
ik pachhaanoo jee-a kaa iko rakhanhaar.
God is the only true friend in life, and the only savior from the vices.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਇਕਸ ਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਆਸਰਾ ਇਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
ikas kaa man aasraa iko paraan aDhaar.
Therefore, keep the support of God in the mind, only He is the sustainer of life.
ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਰੱਖ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
tis sarnaa-ee sadaa sukh paarbarahm kartaar. ||1||
There is eternal peace in the refuge of the Supreme God, the Creator. ||1||
ਉਸ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਵ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥
man mayray sagal upaav ti-aag.
O my mind, give up all other efforts to realize God,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀਲੇ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ,
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਨਿਤ ਇਕਸੁ ਕੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pooraa aaraaDh nit ikas kee liv laag. ||1|| rahaa-o.
-always remember and follow the teachings of the Perfect Guru, and remain focused on God. ||1||pause||
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਇਕੋ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਤੁ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੋ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ॥
iko bhaa-ee mit ik iko maat pitaa.
Only God is the true brother, He alone is the real friend and only God is the true mother and father.
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ, ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਹੈ l
ਇਕਸ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਟੇਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦਿਤਾ ॥
ikas kee man tayk hai jin jee-o pind ditaa.
In my mind, I depend only on the support of God, He has blessed me with this body and life.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨॥
so parabh manhu na visrai jin sabh kichh vas keetaa. ||2||
I pray that I may never forsake from my mind that God who has kept everything under His control. ||2||
ਮੇਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਇਹੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲੇ ॥੨॥
ਘਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਆਪਿ ॥
ghar iko baahar iko thaan thanantar aap.
God is enshrined in my heart and is pervading everywhere in the universe.
ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਭੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਏ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
jee-a jant sabh jin kee-ay aath pahar tis jaap.
God who created all human beings and creatures, always remember Him with adoration
ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕਸੁ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਨ ਹੋਵੀ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥੩॥
ikas saytee rati-aa na hovee sog santaap. ||3||
No grief or sorrow afflicts by remaining imbued with God’s love. ||3||
ਜੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ (ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹੀਏ, ਤਾਂ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
paarbarahm parabh ayk hai doojaa naahee ko-ay.
There is only one Supreme God and none other equals Him.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ (ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ) ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
jee-o pind sabh tis kaa jo tis bhaavai so ho-ay.
The life, body and everything belong to God; whatever pleases Him comes to pass.
(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਇਆ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੯॥੭੯॥
gur poorai pooraa bha-i-aa jap naanak sachaa so-ay. ||4||9||79||
O’ Nanak, one who follows the perfect Guru’s teachings, he becomes perfect with all virtues by remembering God with adoration. ||4||9||79||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੯॥੭੯॥

ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥
jinaa satgur si-o chit laa-i-aa say pooray parDhaan.
Those who focus their mind on the true Guru’s teachings become virtuous and are recognized everywhere.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਮੰਨੇ-ਪ੍ਰਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਨ ਉਪਜੈ ਮਨਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
jin ka-o aap da-i-aal ho-ay tin upjai man gi-aan.
Spiritual wisdom wells up in the minds of those upon whom God bestows mercy.
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਬੋਧ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੁੰਗਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
jin ka-o mastak likhi-aa tin paa-i-aa har naam. ||1||
Only those people receive the gift of God’s Name who have such preordained destiny. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉੱਤੇ (ਧੁਰੋਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਉੱਘੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
man mayray ayko naam Dhi-aa-ay.
O’ my mind, remember God’s Name with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ।
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਸੁਖ ਊਪਜਹਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਧਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sarab sukhaa sukh oopjahi dargeh paiDhaa jaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
One who lovingly remembers God, all kinds of comforts and inner peace wells up in his life, and he is honored in God’s presence. ||1||pause||
(ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਖ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਗਇਆ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
janam maran kaa bha-o ga-i-aa bhaa-o bhagat gopaal.
The one who remembers God with loving devotion, is liberated from the fear of the cycles of birth and death.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੋਪਾਲ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ (ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਣ) ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
saaDhoo sangat nirmalaa aap karay partipaal.
In the holy congregation, his life becomes immaculate and God Himself protects that person from the vices and nurtures him.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ (ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕੀ ਮਲੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥
janam maran kee mal katee-ai gur darsan daykh nihaal. ||2||
He is delighted by following the Guru’s teachings, and the filth of vices which is the cause for repeated births and deaths, is removed. ||2||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
thaan thanantar rav rahi-aa paarbarahm parabh so-ay.
The Supreme God is pervading everywhere.
ਉਹ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਸਭਨਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
sabhnaa daataa ayk hai doojaa naahee ko-ay.
God is the only benefactor to all and there is none other giver at all.
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ l
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
tis sarnaa-ee chhutee-ai keetaa lorhay so ho-ay. ||3||
Everything happens according to God’s will, and liberation from vices is attained by seeking His refuge.
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥
jin man vasi-aa paarbarahm say pooray parDhaan.
Those in whose minds the Supreme God is enshrined, they are perfectly virtuous and exalted.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਭਈ ਜਹਾਨ ॥
tin kee sobhaa nirmalee pargat bha-ee jahaan.
Their spotless glory is revealed all over the world.
ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇ-ਦਾਗ਼ ਸੋਭਾ-ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਘੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੮੦॥
jinee mayraa parabh Dhi-aa-i-aa naanak tin kurbaan. ||4||10||80||
O’ Nanak, I am dedicated to those who have remembered my God with loving devotion. ||4||10||80||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੮੦॥
