ਗੁਪਤ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
gupat pargat jaa ka-o araaDheh pa-un paanee dinas raat.
whom the invisible and visible beings worship day and night and the wind and water follow His command;
ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਅਣਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤੂ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਵਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਨਖਿਅਤ੍ਰ ਸਸੀਅਰ ਸੂਰ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਬਸੁਧ ਗਗਨਾ ਗਾਵਏ ॥
nakhi-atar sasee-ar soor Dhi-aavahi basuDh gagnaa gaav-ay.
the stars, the moon and the sun obey whose command and to whom the earth and the sky sing;
ਬੇਅੰਤ) ਤਾਰੇ ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਧਰਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਗਲ ਖਾਣੀ ਸਗਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਏ ॥
sagal khaanee sagal banee sadaa sadaa Dhi-aav-ay.
all the sources of creation and all languages obey whose will forever and ever;
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ (ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦਹ ਖਟੁ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਜਪਾਤਿ ॥

the smritis, the puranas, the four vedas and six shastras (the Hindu scriptures) inspire whose devotional worship,
ਸਤਾਈ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ, ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਪੁਰਾਣ, ਚਾਰ ਵੇਦ, ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਤਿ ॥੩॥
patit paavan bhagat vachhal naanak milee-ai sang saat. ||3||
O’ Nanak, that purifier of the sinners, the lover of the devotees can only be realized through the holy congregation. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਪਤਿਤ-ਪਾਵਨ, ਭਗਤਿ-ਵਛਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ,ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜੇਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਨਾਈ ਤੇਤ ਭਨੀ ॥
jaytee parabh oo janaa-ee rasnaa tayt bhanee.
My tongue has described only that much of creation as God has revealed to me
ਜਿਤਨੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਉਤਨੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ ਨੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ
ਅਨਜਾਨਤ ਜੋ ਸੇਵੈ ਤੇਤੀ ਨਹ ਜਾਇ ਗਨੀ ॥
anjaanat jo sayvai taytee nah jaa-ay ganee.
The unknown creation engaged in your devotional worship cannot be counted.
ਹੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਦਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਗਿਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਅਵਿਗਤ ਅਗਨਤ ਅਥਾਹ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਗਲ ਮੰਝੇ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥
avigat agnat athaah thaakur sagal manjhay baahraa.
Imperishable, incomprehensible and unfathomable is the Master-God; He is both within and outside of everyone.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਅਨਗਿਣਤ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਬੇਅੰਤ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਭੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਰਬ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਏਕੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਨਹ ਦੂਰਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਜਾਹਰਾ ॥
sarab jaachik ayk daataa nah door sangee jaahraa.
All the beings are beggars but only He is the Giver, He is not far off and He is right in front everyone.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ-ਜੰਤ ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਕ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਹੈ।
ਵਸਿ ਭਗਤ ਥੀਆ ਮਿਲੇ ਜੀਆ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਿਤ ਗਨੀ ॥
vas bhagat thee-aa milay jee-aa taa kee upmaa kit ganee.
He has allowed Himself to be under the control of His devotees; how much can I say about their glory whose minds are attuned to Him?
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਜੀਵ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਕੁ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂ?
ਇਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਾਏ ਸੀਸੁ ਸਾਧਹ ਧਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੫॥
ih daan maan naanak paa-ay sees saaDhah Dhar charnee. ||4||2||5||
Nanak only wishes, that he may be blessed with the gift and honor of humbly serving the devotees of God. ||4||2||5||
ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਖੈਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਜਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇ( ॥੪॥੨॥੫॥

ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਹੋ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
udam karahu vadbhaageeho simrahu har har raa-ay.
O’ fortunate ones, make an effort to meditate on the sovereign God,
ਹੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਓ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ) ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
naanak jis simrat sabh sukh hoveh dookh darad bharam jaa-ay. ||1||
by remembering whom total peace is attained; sorrow, pain and doubt go away, says Nanak. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਰਦ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਹ ਅਲਸਾਈਐ ॥
naam japat gobind nah alsaa-ee-ai.
We should never be lazy for meditating on God’s Name
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ (ਕਦੇ) ਆਲਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ,
ਭੇਟਤ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਨਹ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
bhaytat saaDhoo sang jam pur nah jaa-ee-ai.
by following the Guru’s teachings and meditating on Naam we do not have to face the fear of death.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਤੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ) ਜਮ ਦੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਦ ਸੁਖੀ ॥
dookh darad na bha-o bi-aapai naam simrat sad sukhee.
By meditating on Naam, no sorrow, pain or fear afflicts us and lasting peace is attained.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਕੋਈ ਦਰਦ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖੀ ॥
saas saas araaDh har har Dhi-aa-ay so parabh man mukhee.
Remember God with each and every breath and recite His Name in your mind and with your mouth.
ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਮਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਉਚਾਰ।
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਰਸਾਲ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਈਐ ॥
kirpaal da-i-aal rasaal gun niDh kar da-i-aa sayvaa laa-ee-ai.
O’ kind and merciful God, O treasure of sublime essence and the treasure of virtues, please show mercy and bless me with Your devotional worship.
ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ!ਹੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਘਰ! ਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਦਇਆ ਕਰਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਚਰਣ ਜੰਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਹ ਅਲਸਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
naanak pa-i-ampai charan jampai naam japat gobind nah alsaa-ee-ai. ||1||
Nanak humbly requests that he may always keep meditating on immaculate Naam; we should never display sloth in meditating on God’s Name. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਕਦੇ ਆਲਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਵਨ ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ॥
paavan patit puneet naam niranjanaa.
The Name of the immaculate God is very sacred; it is the purifier of sinners.
ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਰਮ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਬਿਨਾਸ ਗਿਆਨ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਜਨਾ ॥
bharam anDhayr binaas gi-aan gur anjnaa.
The divine wisdom imparted by the Guru is like an eye ointment that dispels the darkness of mind’s doubt.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ (ਇਕ ਐਸਾ) ਸੁਰਮਾ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਮਨ ਦੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ ॥
gur gi-aan anjan parabh niranjan jal thal mahee-al poori-aa.
By the ointment of the Guru’s divine wisdom one perceives that the immaculate God is totally pervading the water, the land and the sky.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਰਮੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਿਟੇ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਵਿਸੂਰਿਆ ॥
ik nimakh jaa kai ridai vasi-aa mitay tiseh visoori-aa.
The one in whose heart God dwells even for a moment, all his sufferings and worries are eradicated.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫਰਕਣ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਬ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨਾ ॥
agaaDh boDh samrath su-aamee sarab kaa bha-o bhanjnaa.
The wisdom of the all-powerful God is unfathomable; He is the destroyer of the fear of all.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਥਾਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਚਰਣ ਜੰਪੈ ਪਾਵਨ ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ॥੨॥
naanak pa-i-ampai charan jampai paavan patit puneet naam niranjanaa. ||2||
Nanak prays and meditates on the immaculate God and says that the Name of the immaculate God is sacred and it is the purifier of sinners. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧੇ ॥
ot gahee gopaal da-i-aal kirpaa niDhay.
O’ the sustainer of the world, the treasure of mercy, I have sought Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ! ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
ਮੋਹਿ ਆਸਰ ਤੁਅ ਚਰਨ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਿਧੇ ॥
mohi aasar tu-a charan tumaaree saran siDhay.
Your Immaculate Name is my only support; to remain in Your refuge is the fulfillment of my life’s goal.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥
har charan kaaran karan su-aamee patit uDhran har haray.
O’ God, You are the cause of all causes; the support of Your immaculate Name is the savior of sinners.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਬੱਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਬੱਬ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ! ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਣ-ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਭਵ ਉਤਾਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਬਹੁ ਤਰੇ ॥
saagar sansaar bhav utaar naam simrat baho taray.
By meditating on Naam, innumerable persons swim across the world ocean of voces; only Your Name can save people from the rounds of birth and death.
ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬੰਦੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਘੁੰਮਣ-ਘੇਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਸੁਨੀ ਉਧਰਨ ਸੰਤਸੰਗ ਬਿਧੇ ॥
aad ant bay-ant khojeh sunee uDhran satsang biDhay.
O’ God, it is You alone who is present in the beginning and in the end of the creation. Countless people are searching for You; I have heard that the company of Your saints is the only way to cross the word-ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਆਰੰਭ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ। ਬੇਅੰਤ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਚਰਨ ਜੰਪੈ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧੇ ॥੩॥
naanak pa-i-ampai charan jampai ot gahee gopaal da-i-aal kirpaa niDhay. ||3||
O’ merciful God, the treasure of mercy, Nanak meditates on Your immaculate Name and prays, I have sought Your refuge, save me as You please. ||3||
ਹੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ! ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ! ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥
bhagat vachhal har birad aap banaa-i-aa.
God is the Lover of His devotees; this is His natural way.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਸੰਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
jah jah sant araaDheh tah tah paragtaa-i-aa.
Wherever the Saints worship God in adoration, there He reveals Himself.
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉੱਥੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਜਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਲੀਏ ਸਮਾਇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਭਗਤ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
parabh aap lee-ay samaa-ay sahj subhaa-ay bhagat kaaraj saari-aa.
God has intuitively attuned His devotees to Himself and He Himself accomplishes their tasks.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਵਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਜਸ ਮਹਾ ਮੰਗਲ ਸਰਬ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
aanand har jas mahaa mangal sarab dookh visaari-aa.
The devotees sing praises of God, enjoy supreme bliss and forget their sorrows.
ਭਗਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੁਲਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
