ਵਡਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
vadaa mayraa govind agam agochar aad niranjan nirankaar jee-o
My God is the greatest, He is incomprehensible, unfathomable, primal, immaculate and formless.
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ (ਸਭ ਤੋਂ) ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਅਮਿਤਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰ ਜੀਉ ॥
taa kee gat kahee na jaa-ee amit vadi-aa-ee mayraa govind alakh apaar jee-o.
His state cannot be described; His Glorious Greatness is immeasurable. My God of the Universe is incomprehensible and infinite.
ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਡੱਪਣ ਭੀ ਮਿਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ।
ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਆਪੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
govind alakh apaar aprampar aap aapnaa jaanai.
God of the Universe is incomprehensible infinite. He Himself knows Himself.
ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਆ ਇਹ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
ki-aa ih jant vichaaray kahee-ahi jo tuDh aakh vakhaanai.
O’ God, what can be said about these poor creatures who try to describe You ?.
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਹ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੱਸ ਸੱਕਣ)? (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਐਸਾ ਜੀਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਪਣੀ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
jis no nadar karahi tooN apnee so gurmukh karay veechaar jee-o.
Only that Guru’s follower, who is blessed by Your glance of grace, contemplates You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
vadaa mayraa govind agam agochar aad niranjan nirankaar jee-o. ||1||
My God is the greatest, He is inaccessible (beyond the grasp of our senses), unfathomable, primal, immaculate and formless.
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ (ਸਭ ਤੋਂ) ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਸੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ) ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ) ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ l
ਤੂੰ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tooN aad purakh aprampar kartaa tayraa paar na paa-i-aa jaa-ay jee-o.
O’ God, You are the primal Being, the infinite Creator; Your limits cannot be found.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਲੱਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਤੂੰ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tooN ghat ghat antar sarab nirantar sabh meh rahi-aa samaa-ay jee-o.
You are pervading each and every heart and You are permeating in all.
ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
ghat antar paarbarahm parmaysar taa kaa ant na paa-i-aa.
Within every heart is the Supreme God, whose limits cannot be found.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ (ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ) ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖ ਅਦਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥
tis roop na raykh adisat agochar gurmukh alakh lakhaa-i-aa.
He has no particular form or shape; He is invisible and incomprehensible. However, to the Guru’s follower, the unknowable God becomes known.
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਰੂਪ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਚਿਹਨ ਚੱਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
sadaa anand rahai din raatee sehjay naam samaa-ay jee-o.
Such a Guru’s follower, always remains in a state of bliss and imperceptibly merges in His Name.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੂੰ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
tooN aad purakh aprampar kartaa tayraa paar na paa-i-aa jaa-ay jee-o. ||2||
O’ God, You are the Primal Being, the Limitless Creator; Your limits cannot be found.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਲੱਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
tooN sat parmaysar sadaa abhinaasee har har gunee niDhaan jee-o.
You are the eternal supreme Master, forever imperishable and the treasure of all the virtues.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
har har parabh ayko avar na ko-ee tooN aapay purakh sujaan jee-o.
O’ God, You are the One and only One, there is no other at all. You Yourself are the all-knowing supreme being.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਕੋ ਇਕ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
purakh sujaan tooN parDhaan tuDh jayvad avar na ko-ee
O’ God, You are the all-knowing, the most exalted and supreme; there is no other as great as You.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਜੇਡਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
tayraa sabad sabh tooNhai varteh tooN aapay karahi so ho-ee.
Your word is pervading in all; whatever You do, comes to pass.
ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈਂ, ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
har sabh meh ravi-aa ayko so-ee gurmukh lakhi-aa har naam jee-o.
Only a Guru’s follower comes to understand that one God is permeating all.
ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ
ਸਭੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
sabh tooNhai kartaa sabh tayree vadi-aa-ee ji-o bhaavai tivai chalaa-ay jee-o.
O’ God, You are the Creator of all, and all glory is Yours. As it pleases Your Will, You so direct the universe (Your creation).
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਤੇਜ-ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਿਵੇਂ, ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸ ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੋਰ।
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਵਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tuDh aapay bhaavai tivai chalaaveh sabh tayrai sabad samaa-ay jee-o.
O’ God, You direct the universe as it pleases You and all follow Your command.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਰੇ ਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਭ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਜਾਂ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
sabh sabad samaavai jaaN tuDh bhaavai tayrai sabad vadi-aa-ee.
The entire universe is attuned to your command. Only when it pleases You that we obtain honor through Your word.
ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
gurmukh buDh paa-ee-ai aap gavaa-ee-ai sabday rahi-aa samaa-ee.
When, through the Guru we obtain virtuous intellect and shed our self-conceit, only then through the Guru’s word, God seems to be pervading everywhere.
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਅਕਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ, ਜੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ-ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ, ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tayraa sabad agochar gurmukh paa-ee-ai naanak naam samaa-ay jee-o.
O’ Nanak, only a Guru’s follower can understand Your incomprehensible Word, and when he understands it, he remains absorbed in Your Name.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ (ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ) ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੪॥
sabh tooNhai kartaa sabh tayree vadi-aa-ee ji-o bhaavai tivai chalaa-ay jee-o. ||4||7||14||
O’ God, You are the Creator of all, and all glory is Yours. As it pleases Your Will, so You direct the universe (Your creation).
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਤੇਜ-ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ) ਤੋਰ l

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਛੰਤ ਘਰੁ ੪ ॥

ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ, ਘਰ ੪ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ‘ਛੰਤ
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਿੰਨੇ ਲੋਇਣਾ ਮਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਰਤੰਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜੇ ॥
har amrit bhinnay lo-inaa man paraym ratannaa raam raajay.
O’ God, my mind is imbued with Your love and my eyes are moist with the nectar of Your Name (spiritually overwhelmed).
ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੂਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮਿ ਕਸਵਟੀ ਲਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਸੋਵਿੰਨਾ ॥
man raam kasvatee laa-i-aa kanchan sovinnaa.
(I feel that) God has rubbed my mind on the touchstone of the love of His Name and it became immaculate like pure Gold.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਕਸਵੱਟੀ ਉਤੇ ਘਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੁੱਧ ਸੋਨਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੋ ਭਿੰਨਾ ॥
gurmukh rang chalooli-aa mayraa man tano bhinnaa.
By following the Guru’s teachings, my mind is imbued with love for God as if it has been dyed deep red. My mind and body are drenched with His love
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਲਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤਰੋ-ਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਤਰੋ-ਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
