ਪਹਿਲਾ ਫਾਹਾ ਪਇਆ ਪਾਧੇ ਪਿਛੋ ਦੇ ਗਲਿ ਚਾਟੜਿਆ ॥੫॥
pahilaa faahaa pa-i-aa paaDhay pichho day gal chaatrhi-aa. ||5||
Firstly the teacher has the noose of Maya around his neck and then he puts the noose of Maya around the pupil’s neck. ||5||
ਪਾਂਧੇ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਪਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਉਹੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
ਸਸੈ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਗਇਓ ਮੂੜੇ ਏਕੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਕੁਥਾਇ ਲਇਆ ॥
sasai sanjam ga-i-o moorhay ayk daan tuDh kuthaa-ay la-i-aa.
Sassa: O’ fool, you have abandoned your discipline in life and you are accepting charity at an undesirable occasion.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ, ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਭੀ ਗਵਾ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਦਾਨ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਜਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਥਾਂ (ਅਯੋਗ) ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਸਾਈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੀ ਜਜਮਾਨ ਕੀ ਸਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਏਤੁ ਧਾਨਿ ਖਾਧੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਇਆ ॥੬॥
saa-ee putree jajmaan kee saa tayree ayt Dhaan khaaDhai tayraa janam ga-i-aa. ||6||
The daughter of your patron is like your own; by accepting this payment for performing her wedding ceremony, you have cursed your spiritual life. ||6||
ਜਜਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਧੀ ਹੈ , ਧੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਤੇ ਜਜਮਾਨ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਦਾਨ ਲੈਣਾ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੬॥
ਮੰਮੈ ਮਤਿ ਹਿਰਿ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੂੜੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਡਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਪਇਆ ॥
mammai mat hir la-ee tayree moorhay ha-umai vadaa rog pa-i-aa.
Mamma: O’ fool, you have been cheated out of your intellect and you are afflicted with the great disease of ego.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੇਰੀ ਅਕਲ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਬੜ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਮੁਹਤਾਜੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੭॥
antar aatmai barahm na cheenHi-aa maa-i-aa kaa muhtaaj bha-i-aa. ||7||
You do not realize God residing within you, because you have become dependent on worldly wealth. ||7||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਿਆ, ਇਸੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਪਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਕਕੈ ਕਾਮਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਭਰਮਿਓਹੁ ਮੂੜੇ ਮਮਤਾ ਲਾਗੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਹਰਿ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ॥
kakai kaam kroDh bharmi-ohu moorhay mamtaa laagay tuDh har visri-aa.
Kakka: O’ fool, you are wandering around entangled in lust and anger; attached to worldly love you have forsaken God.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਕਾਮ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮੋਹ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੜਹਿ ਗੁਣਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪੁਕਾਰਹਿ ਵਿਣੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਤੂੰ ਡੂਬਿ ਮੁਆ ॥੮॥
parheh guneh tooN bahut pukaareh vin boojhay tooN doob mu-aa. ||8||
You read, reflect and teach others, but without understanding the righteous way of life, you are drowned to spiritual death. ||8||
ਤੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਭੀ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਸਮਝਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੂੰ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੮॥
ਤਤੈ ਤਾਮਸਿ ਜਲਿਓਹੁ ਮੂੜੇ ਥਥੈ ਥਾਨ ਭਰਿਸਟੁ ਹੋਆ ॥
tatai taamas jali-ohu moorhay thathai thaan bharisat ho-aa.
O’ fool, you have been burnt with wrath and your heart is polluted with greed
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ,ਤੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਸੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ l ਲਾਲਚ ਨਾਲ,ਤੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਥਾਂ ਗੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਘਘੈ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੂੜੇ ਦਦੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਨ ਤੁਧੁ ਲਇਆ ॥੯॥
ghaghai ghar ghar fireh tooN moorhay dadai daan na tuDh la-i-aa. ||9||
O’ fool, you go begging from door to door and you have never obtained the true charity of Naam from anyone. ||9||
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਕ ਦੱਛਣਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦੱਛਣਾ ਤੂੰ ਅਜੇ ਤਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਈ ॥੯॥
ਪਪੈ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਵਹੀ ਮੂੜੇ ਪਰਪੰਚਿ ਤੂੰ ਪਲਚਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
papai paar na pavhee moorhay parpanch tooN palach rahi-aa.
O’ fool, since you are so engrossed in worldly affairs, you will not be able to escape from these entanglements.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ-ਜਾਲ) ਵਿਚ (ਇਤਨਾ) ਉਲਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਚੈ ਆਪਿ ਖੁਆਇਓਹੁ ਮੂੜੇ ਇਹੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਲੇਖੁ ਪਇਆ ॥੧੦॥
sachai aap khu-aa-i-ohu moorhay ih sir tayrai laykh pa-i-aa. ||10||
O’ fool, God Himself has strayed you; this is what has been written in your destiny. ||10||
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਏਹੋ ਹੀ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ॥੧੦॥
ਭਭੈ ਭਵਜਲਿ ਡੁਬੋਹੁ ਮੂੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਗਲਤਾਨੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
bhabhai bhavjal dubohu moorhay maa-i-aa vich galtaan bha-i-aa.
O’ fool, you are so much absorbed in worldly allurements that you are drowning in the dreadful worldly ocean of vices.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨਾ ਮਸਤ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਗੋਤੇ ਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਏਕ ਘੜੀ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧੧॥
gur parsaadee ayko jaanai ayk gharhee meh paar pa-i-aa. ||11||
But by Guru’s grace, the person who realizes the one God alone, swims across the worldly ocean of vices in an instant. ||11||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
ਵਵੈ ਵਾਰੀ ਆਈਆ ਮੂੜੇ ਵਾਸੁਦੇਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਵੀਸਰਿਆ ॥
vavai vaaree aa-ee-aa moorhay vaasuday-o tuDh veesri-aa.
O’ fool, your turn (invaluable human life to reunite with God) came, but you remained oblivious of God.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਆਈ ਸੀ, ਪਰ (ਇਸ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਭੁੱਲਿਆ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਏਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਨ ਲਹਸਹਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਤੂੰ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧੨॥
ayh vaylaa na lehsahi moorhay fir tooN jam kai vas pa-i-aa. ||12||
O’ fool, you would not get this opportunity again and you would fall under the grip of the demon of death. ||12|
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਇਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕੇਂਗਾ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਜਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪੈ ਜਾਹਿਂਗਾ (ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਪਏਂਗਾ) ॥੧੨॥
ਝਝੈ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਝੂਰਹਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਖਾ ॥
jhajhai kaday na jhooreh moorhay satgur kaa updays sun tooN vikhaa.
O’ fool, just listen and follow the true Guru’s teachings, you would never have to repent.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲੈ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਹਾਹੁਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਣੇ ਪੈਣਗੇ
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਉ ਬੁਰਾ ॥੧੩॥
satgur baajhahu gur nahee ko-ee niguray kaa hai naa-o buraa. ||13||
Without the True Guru, there is not another Guru; one who is without a Guru has a bad reputation. ||13||
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਬਿਹੂਨ (ਨਿਗੁਰੇ) ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਾ ਹੈ।॥੧੩॥
ਧਧੈ ਧਾਵਤ ਵਰਜਿ ਰਖੁ ਮੂੜੇ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਇਆ ॥
DhaDhai Dhaavat varaj rakh moorhay antar tayrai niDhaan pa-i-aa.
O’fool, restrain your wandering mind; deep within you is the treasure of Naam.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਆਪਣੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਰੱਖ, ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਹਿ ਜੁਗਾ ਜੁਗੰਤਰਿ ਖਾਹਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧੪॥
gurmukh hoveh taa har ras peeveh jugaa jugantar khaahi pa-i-aa. ||14||
If you follow the Guru’s teachings, then you would partake the elixir of God’s Name and you would keep enjoying this forever. ||14||
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਵੇਂਗਾ, ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ ॥੧੪॥
ਗਗੈ ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਗਲੀ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
gagai gobid chit kar moorhay galee kinai na paa-i-aa.
O’ fool, enshrine God’s Name in your mind; no one has ever realized God by mere talk.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲੈ ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਾਇ ਮੂੜੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਸਭ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਇਆ ॥੧੫॥
gur kay charan hirdai vasaaay moorhay pichhlay gunah sabh bakhas laiaa. ||15||
O’ Fool, enshrine the Guru’s teachings in your heart and all your past sins would be pardoned. ||15||
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖ, ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ॥੧੫॥
ਹਾਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਬੂਝੁ ਤੂੰ ਮੂੜੇ ਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
haahai har kathaa boojh tooN moorhay taa sadaa sukh ho-ee.
O’ fool, understand the essence of the divine words of God’s praises; only then you would always live in celestial peace.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਲਏਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਪੜਹਿ ਤੇਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਵਿਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧੬॥
manmukh parheh taytaa dukh laagai vin satgur mukat na ho-ee. ||16||
More the self-willed people read about Maya, more they suffer; liberation from bonds of Maya is not achieved without the true Guru’s teachings. ||16||
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਲੇਖੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ,ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ॥੧੬॥
ਰਾਰੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਕੈ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
raarai raam chit kar moorhay hirdai jinH kai rav rahi-aa.
O’ fool, lovingly remember God by meeting those people who have already realized God dwelling in their hearts.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਰਾਮੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਬੂਝਿ ਲਹਿਆ ॥੧੭॥
gur parsaadee jinHee raam pachhaataa nirgun raam tinHee boojh lahi-aa. ||17||
By the Guru’s Grace, those who have recognized God in His creation, they have also realized the immaculate God in their hearts. ||17||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੭॥
ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਅਕਥੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਿਆ ॥
tayraa ant na jaa-ee lakhi-aa akath na jaa-ee har kathi-aa.
O’ God, the limit of Your virtues cannot be known; You are indescribable and cannot be described.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨਿਬੜਿਆ ॥੧੮॥੧॥੨॥
naanak jinH ka-o satgur mili-aa tinH kaa laykhaa nibrhi-aa. ||18||1||2||
O’ Nanak, those who have met the true Guru and have followed his teachings, their account of worldly affairs has been settled. ||18||1||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ , ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੮॥੧॥੨॥
ਰਾਗੁ ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਛੰਤ ਘਰੁ ੧

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੁੰਧ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਬਾਲੜੀਏ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਲੀਆਲਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
munDh joban baalrhee-ay mayraa pir ralee-aalaa raam.
O’ beautiful young lady, my Husband-God is very playful and source of bliss.
ਹੇ ਜੋਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੱਤੀ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਨੇਹੁ ਘਣਾ ਰਸਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Dhan pir nayhu ghanaa ras pareet da-i-aalaa raam.
When the soul-bride has intense love for the Husband-God, then the merciful Husband-God happily loves the soul-bride in return.
ਜਦ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਚਾਉ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
