ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੀਜੈ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
parabh sang mileejai ih man deejai.
Union with God can be obtained only by totally surrendering the mind to Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਈਏ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਅਪਨੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੫੦॥
naanak naam milai apnee da-i-aa karahu. ||2||1||150||
O’ God, please bestow mercy so that Nanak may attain Naam. ||2||1||150||

ਮਿਲੁ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mil raam pi-aaray tum bin Dheeraj ko na karai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my beloved God, please come and meet me; without You, nothing can calm my mind. ||1||pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ! ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ (ਉੱਦਮ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਹੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਦਰਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
simrit saastar baho karam kamaa-ay parabh tumray daras bin sukh naahee. ||1||
O’ God, people performed many rituals prescribed in simrities and shastras (holy books), but there is no peace without Your blessed vision.||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਮ ਕੀਤੇ, ਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਸੰਜਮ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਵਸੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫੧॥
varat naym sanjam kar thaakay naanak saaDh saran parabh sang vasai. ||2||2||151||
O’ God, People have grown weary of observing fasts, vows and self-discipline; but Nanak dwells with God in the Saint-Guru’s refuge. ||2||2||151||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਲੋਕ ਵਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਣ ਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੰਭ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫੧॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਾਦਿ ਸੋਇਓ ਸੂਝ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
bikaar maa-i-aa maad so-i-o soojh boojh na aavai.
One who remains engrossed in vices and the intoxication of worldly wealth; he does not develop any understanding about the righteous conduct.
ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ (ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਦੀ) ਅਕਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
ਪਕਰਿ ਕੇਸ ਜਮਿ ਉਠਾਰਿਓ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
pakar kays jam uthaari-o tad hee ghar jaavai. ||1||
He comes to his senses only when the demon of death catches him by the hair and pulls him up. ||1||
ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਜਮ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਠਾਇਆ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਸ਼ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਲੋਭ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਖੈ ਲਾਗੇ ਹਿਰਿ ਵਿਤ ਚਿਤ ਦੁਖਾਹੀ ॥
lobh bikhi-aa bikhai laagay hir vit chit dukhaahee.
Engrossed in vices and greed of worldly wealth, they who hurt the feelings of others by seizing their wealth;
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਭ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ (ਪਰਾਇਆ) ਧਨ ਚੁਰਾ ਕੇ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ) ਦਿਲ ਦੁਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਖਿਨ ਭੰਗੁਨਾ ਕੈ ਮਾਨਿ ਮਾਤੇ ਅਸੁਰ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khin bhangunaa kai maan maatay asur jaaneh naahee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
such cruel people do not understand that they are intoxicated in the pride of momentary worldly wealth. ||1||pause||
ਨਿਰਦਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਉੱਹ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਥ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬੇਦ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਜਨ ਪੁਕਾਰਹਿ ਸੁਨੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਡੋਰਾ ॥
bayd saastar jan pukaareh sunai naahee doraa.
The vedas, the shastras and the holy men proclaim it, but intoxicated with Maya, does not even listen to their advice like a deaf person.
ਵੇਦ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਬੋਲਾ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਨਿਪਟਿ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰਿ ਮੂਕਾ ਪਛੁਤਾਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਭੋਰਾ ॥੨॥
nipat baajee haar mookaa pachhutaa-i-o man bhoraa. ||2||
It is only when he has lost the game of life and his end has come near, then the fool regrets in his mind.||2||
ਜਦੋਂ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਸਮੇ ਤੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਡਾਨੁ ਸਗਲ ਗੈਰ ਵਜਹਿ ਭਰਿਆ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਲੇਖੈ ਨ ਪਰਿਆ ॥
daan sagal gair vajeh bhari-aa deevaan laykhai na pari-aa.
Charitable deeds done by him are like paying the fines, which do not bring any credit in God’s court.
ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਡੰਨ ਭਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਜੇਹੇ ਕੰਮ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
ਜੇਂਹ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਰਹੈ ਓਲ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਸੋਇ ਕਾਮੁ ਨ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
jayNh kaaraj rahai olHaa so-ay kaam na kari-aa. ||3||
He does not do any such deed which can save his honor in God’s court. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਣੇ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਇਹ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਐਸੋ ਜਗੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ਤਉ ਏਕ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
aiso jag mohi gur dikhaa-i-o ta-o ayk keerat gaa-i-aa.
When the Guru showed me the reality of such a world, I started singing the praises of God.
ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ (ਮਾਇਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸਿਆ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ,
ਮਾਨੁ ਤਾਨੁ ਤਜਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਸਰਣਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੫੨॥
maan taan taj si-aanap saran naanak aa-i-aa. ||4||1||152||
Renouncing ego, strength and cleverness, Nanak has come to God’s refuge. ||4||1||152||
ਤਦੋਂ ਮਾਣ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ (ਹੋਰ) ਆਸਰਾ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਚੁਤਰਾਈਆਂ ਤਜ ਕੇ (ਮੈਂ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੫੨॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਬਾਪਾਰਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਨਾਏ ॥
baapaar govind naa-ay.
He who engages in meditating on God’s Name,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤ ਮਨਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਪੰਚ ਨਾਦ ਤੂਰ ਬਜਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saaDh sant manaa-ay pari-a paa-ay gun gaa-ay panch naad toor bajaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
earns the pleasure of the saint-Guru and sings praises of God; he obtains union with the beloved God. He feel so delighted as if all the five types of divine musical instruments are playing within him. ||1||pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਪੰਜ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਜ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਏ ਸਹਜਾਏ ਦਰਸਾਏ ਅਬ ਰਾਤਿਆ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸਿਉ ॥
kirpaa paa-ay sehjaa-ay darsaa-ay ab raati-aa govind si-o.
By God’s grace, he who attains peace and poise sees the vision of God and is forever imbued with God’s love.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤ ਸੇਵਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਾਥ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਲਨ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥
sant sayv pareet naath rang laalan laa-ay. ||1||
By following the teachings of the saint (Guru), he is imbued with the love of God. Yes he is imbued with the deep love of God. ||1||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ; ਲਾਲ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਰਹਸਾਏ ਨਹੀ ਆਏ ਸਹਜਾਏ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
gur gi-aan man drirh-aa-ay rahsaa-ay nahee aa-ay sehjaa-ay man niDhaan paa-ay.
One who firmly enshrine the Guru’s wisdom in his mind, feels blissful and he is not reborn; achieves celestial poise and finds the treasure of Naam in his mind.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭ ਤਜੀ ਮਨੈ ਕੀ ਕਾਮ ਕਰਾ ॥
sabh tajee manai kee kaam karaa.
He renounces all the worldly desire of his mind.
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਚਿਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਸ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
chir chir chir chir bha-i-aa man bahut pi-aas laagee.
It has been so long, very long, since I have had Your glimpse; now an intense desire has arisen in my mind for Your vision.
(ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿਰ ਹੋ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੋ ਦਿਖਾਵਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਬਤਾਵਹੁ ॥
har darsano dikhaavhu mohi tum bataavhu.
O’ God, show me Your blessed vision, or tell me Yourself how I may see You.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਹ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਾਂ)।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਨ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਏ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਏ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫੩॥
naanak deen saran aa-ay gal laa-ay. ||2||2||153||
O’ God, Nanak the meek has entered Your refuge; please, take me in Your protection. ||2||2||153||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਦੀਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫੩॥

ਕੋਊ ਬਿਖਮ ਗਾਰ ਤੋਰੈ ॥
ko-oo bikham gaar torai.
It is only a very rare person who conquers the difficult fortress of evil passions, in which soul is imprisoned,
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ
ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਧੋਹ ਮੋਹ ਭਰਮ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਹੋਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aas pi-aas Dhoh moh bharam hee tay horai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and forbids his mind from indulging in hopes, worldly desires, deceptions, and illusions.||1||pause||
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ, ਠੱਗੀ-ਫ਼ਰੇਬ, ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮਾਨ ਇਹ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਛੋਰੈ ॥੧॥
kaam kroDh lobh maan ih bi-aaDh chhorai. ||1||
There is hardly a person in the world, who completely gets rid of the ailments of lust, anger, greed, and arrogance. ||1||
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ) ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
satsang naam rang gun govind gaava-o.
By joining the company of saintly people and getting imbued with God’s love, I sing His praises,
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਅਨਦਿਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
andino parabh Dhi-aava-o.
and always meditate on God’s Name.
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਉ ॥
bharam bheet jeet mitaava-o.
In this way, I remove the wall of illusion which is separating me from God.
ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਣੀ ਵਿੱਥ) ਮਿਟਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੋਰੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੫੪॥

O Nanak, Naam is my only treasure. ||2||3||154||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੫੪॥
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥
kaam kroDh lobh ti-aag.
Renounce your lust, anger, and greed,
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਭ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈ।
ਮਨਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮ ॥
man simar gobind naam.
and in your mind remember God’s Name,
(ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ,
ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨ ਸਫਲ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har bhajan safal kaam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
All tasks are successfully accomplished by meditating on God’s Name. |1||pause|
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
