Raag Aasaa, Twelfth beat, Fifth Guru:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਨਪਾ ਭਜੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
ti-aag sagal si-aanpaa bhaj paarbarahm nirankaar.
Renounce all your cleverness and remember the formless God.
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਏਕ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਸਗਲ ਦੀਸੈ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
ayk saachay naam baajhahu sagal deesai chhaar. ||1||
Except the eternal God’s Name, all else seems as useless as dust. ||1||
ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਛ ਘਟਾ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੀ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਸਦ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
so parabh jaanee-ai sad sang.
Deem that God is always with us.
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੂਝੀਐ ਏਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parsaadee boojhee-ai ayk har kai rang. ||1|| rahaa-o.
We understand this only if, by the Guru’s grace, we remain imbued with the Love of God. ||1||Pause||
ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਭੀ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਪੈ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹੀਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਰਣਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਏਕ ਕੇਰੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥
saran samrath ayk kayree doojaa naahee thaa-o.
There is no other place except the refuge of God which is powerful,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਹੀਂ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ,
ਮਹਾ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਲੰਘੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੨॥
mahaa bha-ojal langhee-ai sadaa har gun gaa-o. ||2|
therefore, always keep singing the praises of God, only then this dreadful worldly ocean of vices may be crossed over. ||2||
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ), ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਬਿਖੜੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇਗਾ ॥੨॥
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੀਐ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
janam maran nivaaree-ai dukh na jam pur ho-ay.
The cycle of birth and death ends and one does not suffer the pain of living through the fear of death.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਉਠਾਉਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
naam niDhaan so-ee paa-ay kirpaa karay parabh so-ay. ||3||
He alone attains the treasure of Naam, unto whom God shows His Mercy. ||3||
ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਏਕ ਟੇਕ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਏਕੋ ਏਕ ਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਜੋਰੁ ॥
ayk tayk aDhaar ayko ayk kaa man jor.
God alone is the anchor, the support and the strength of my mind.
ਇਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਹੈ, ਇਕ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਹੋਰੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੩੬॥
naanak japee-ai mil saaDhsangat har bin avar na hor. ||4||1||136||
O’ Nanak, join the Company of the Holy and meditate on God; without Him there is none other at all who can help. ||4||1||136||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।, ॥੪॥੧॥੧੩੬॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਜੀਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਦੀਏ ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥
jee-o man tan paraan parabh kay dee-ay sabh ras bhog.
The soul, the mind, the body and the breath of life along with all the worldly tastes and pleasures are the gifts blessed by God.
ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ, ਇਹ ਮਨ, ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ, ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ-ਇਹ ਸਭ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਦੀਨ ਬੰਧਪ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਰਾਖਣ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੧॥
deen banDhap jee-a daataa saran raakhan jog. ||1||
God is the kin of the helpless, the Giver of life and capable of saving those who seek His refuge. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਧਿਆਇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
mayray man Dhi-aa-ay har har naa-o.
O’ my mind, always meditate on God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ।
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਸਹਾਇ ਸੰਗੇ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
halat palat sahaa-ay sangay ayk si-o liv laa-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Attune yourself to God, because He alone is your helper and companion both here and hereafter. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖ, ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬੇਦ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਤਰਣ ਕਉ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
bayd saastar jan Dhi-aavahi taran ka-o sansaar.
To swim across the worldly ocean of vices people reflect on Vedas and Shastras.
ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਚਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
karam Dharam anayk kiri-aa sabh oopar naam achaar. ||2||
Meditation on Naam is superior to all kinds of religious rituals and rites. ||2||
ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਉੱਦਮ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਵ ॥
kaam kroDh ahaNkaar binsai milai satgur dayv.
Lust, anger, and ego depart by meeting and following the teachings of the true Guru, the embodiment of God.
ਰੱਬ ਰੂਪ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਭੋਗ, ਗੁੱਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਗ਼ਰੂਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੩॥
naam darirh kar bhagat har kee bhalee parabh kee sayv. ||3||
O’ my friend, firmly enshrine Naam in your heart and meditate on it; devotional worship is the best service of all. ||3||
(ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਿਕਾ ਰੱਖ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਚਰਣ ਸਰਣ ਦਇਆਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਮਾਣੁ ॥
charan saran da-i-aal tayree tooN nimaanay maan.
O’ merciful God, I seek Your refuge, You are the honor of the meek,
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੩੭॥
jee-a paraan aDhaar tayraa naanak kaa parabh taan. ||4||2||137||
O’ God, my life and soul have only Your support and You alone are the support and strength of Nanak. ||4||2||137||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੩੭॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਡੋਲਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਮਹਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗ ॥
dol dol mahaa dukh paa-i-aa binaa saaDhoo sang.
O’ my mind, without the company of the Guru and his teachings, you kept wavering in your faith in God and suffered immense misery.
(ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿਦਕ-ਹੀਣ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਖਾਟਿ ਲਾਭੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਇਕ ਰੰਗ ॥੧॥
khaat laabh gobind har ras paarbarahm ik rang. ||1||
Now, at least imbue yourself with the love of God and enjoy the bliss of union with Him; earn this profit in life. ||1||
ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖ, ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ (ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਇਹ ਖੱਟ ਲੈ) ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਨੀਤਿ ॥
har ko naam japee-ai neet.
We should always meditate on God’s Name.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਅਵਰ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saas saas Dhi-aa-ay so parabh ti-aag avar pareet. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Meditate on God with each and every breath and renounce the love of all others ||1||Pause||
ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਾਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਪਿ ॥
karan kaaran samrath so parabh jee-a daataa aap.
That all-powerful God is the cause of causes and He Himself is the giver of life.
ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੨॥
ti-aag sagal si-aanpaa aath pahar parabh jaap. ||2||
Renounce all your cleverness and always meditate on God. ||2||
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚਤੁਰਾਈਆਂ ਛੱਡ, ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ ॥੨॥
ਮੀਤੁ ਸਖਾ ਸਹਾਇ ਸੰਗੀ ਊਚ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
meet sakhaa sahaa-ay sangee ooch agam apaar.
God is incomprehensible, infinite and exalted; He is our friend, mate and helper.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੀ; ਉਹ ਅਸਲ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਦੋਸਤ ਹੈ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੈ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ,
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਬਸਾਇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
charan kamal basaa-ay hirdai jee-a ko aaDhaar. ||3||
God is the Support of the soul, enshrine His love within your heart. ||3||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ (ਅਸਲ) ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖ,॥੩॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh paarbarahm gun tayraa jas gaa-o.
O’ Supreme God, show Your Mercy that I may sing Your glorious Praises.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੩੮॥
sarab sookh vadee vadi-aa-ee jap jeevai naanak naa-o. ||4||3||138||
Nanak remain spiritually alive by meditating on Naam; total peace and great glory lies in reciting God’s praises ||4||3||138||
(ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੩੮॥

ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰਉ ਕਰਾਵਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
udam kara-o karaavahu thaakur paykhat saaDhoo sang.
O’ God, encourage me to make the effort to meditate and realize You in the company of the Guru.
ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਥੋਂ ਇਹ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਆਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਰਾਵਹੁ ਰੰਗਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥
har har naam charaavahu rangan aapay hee parabh rang. ||1||
O’ God, imbue me with Your love; yes please imbue me with Yourself .||1||

ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
man meh raam naamaa jaap.
I wish that in my mind I keep meditating on God’s Name.
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਮ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਵਸਹੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਈ ਆਪਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa vashu mayrai hirdai ho-ay sahaa-ee aap. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ God, You Yourself become my helper, bestow mercy and dwell within my heart. ||1||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ, ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੇਖਨ ਕਾ ਚਾਉ ॥
sun sun naam tumaaraa pareetam parabh paykhan kaa chaa-o.
O’ my beloved God, by continuously listening to Your Name, I yearn to behold Your blessed vision.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੰਗ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
