ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਨੀਤਾ ਰੇ ॥
saajan sant hamaaray meetaa bin har har aaneetaa ray.
O’ my dear saintly friends, except for God, everything else is perishable.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤਰੋ! ( ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saaDhsang mil har gun gaa-ay ih janam padaarath jeetaa ray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Joining the Company of the Holy, one who has sung Praises of God has attained the purpose of precious human life. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਰੀਐ ਰੇ ॥
tarai gun maa-i-aa barahm kee keenHee kahhu kavan biDh taree-ai ray.
This three pronged Maya created by God is like an ocean; tell me, how can it be crossed over?
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਇਹ ਤ੍ਰਿ-ਗੁਣੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਮਾਨੋ, ਇਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਦੱਸੋ, ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕੀਏ?
ਘੂਮਨ ਘੇਰ ਅਗਾਹ ਗਾਖਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਰੀਐ ਰੇ ॥੨॥
ghooman ghayr agaah gaakhree gur sabdee paar utree-ai ray. ||2||
O’ brother, this terrible and unfathomable world-ocean with whirlpool of vices can be crossed over by following the Guru’s teachings. ||2||
ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਘੁੰਮਣ ਘੇਰੀਆਂ ਪੈ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਇਹ ਅਥਾਹ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਤਤੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਨਾ ਰੇ ॥
khojat khojat khoj beechaari-o tat naanak ih jaanaa ray.
O’ Nanak, by searching and deliberating, the one who has understood this essence of reality,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਸਮਝ ਲਈ ,
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਪਤੀਆਨਾ ਰੇ ॥੩॥੧॥੧੩੦॥
simrat naam niDhaan nirmolak man maanak patee-aanaa ray. ||3||1||130||
that only by meditating on Naam, the invaluable treasure of virtues, the mind becomes like a jewel and gets satiated. ||3||1||130||
ਕਿ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੋਤੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੧॥੧੩੦॥

Raag Aasaa, Dupadas (two stanzas), Fifth Guru:
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਜੋ ਮਾਗਉ ਸੋ ਪਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥
gur parsaad mayrai man vasi-aa jo maaga-o so paava-o ray.
O’ brother, by the Guru’s grace, I have realized God’s presence within my heart and now whatever I ask, I receive from Him.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨਾ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਧਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
naam rang ih man tariptaanaa bahur na katahooN Dhaava-o ray. ||1||
My mind is satiated with the love of Naam, so I do not wander anymore. ||1||
ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਰੱਜ ਚੁਕਾ ਹੈ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਿਰਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਹਮਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਗਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥
hamraa thaakur sabh tay oochaa rain dinas tis gaava-o ray.
O’ brother, my God is the highest of all; night and day I sing His Praises.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!! ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਹੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ l
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਡਰਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khin meh thaap uthaapanhaaraa tis tay tujheh daraava-o ray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In an instant, He can create and destroy any thing; therefore, O’ my mind remain in His revered fear. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਡਰ-ਅਦਬ ਵਿਚ ਰੇਹ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਬ ਦੇਖਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਉ ਅਵਰਹਿ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥
jab daykh-a-u parabh apunaa su-aamee ta-o avrahi cheet na paava-o ray.
When I realize God within me, then I don’t think about anyone else.
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਮੇਟਿ ਲਿਖਾਵਉ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੩੧॥
naanak daas parabh aap pehraa-i-aa bharam bha-o mayt likhaava-o ray. ||2||2||131||
God Himself has honored the devitee Nanak; removing all dreads and doubts, he affirms Naam in his heart as if he is writing it in his conscience. ||2||2||131||
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ॥੨॥੨॥੧੩੧॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਚਾਰਿ ਬਰਨ ਚਉਹਾ ਕੇ ਮਰਦਨ ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਤਲੀ ਰੇ ॥
chaar baran cha-uhaa kay mardan khat darsan kar talee ray.
The bravest people of the four sects and those scholars who have the knowledge of six Shastras on the palms of their hands,
ਚੋਹਾਂ ਜਾਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦੇ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਥ ਦੀ ਹਥੇਲੀ ਉਤੇ ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਹਨ,
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਘਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਸਿਆਨੇ ਪੰਚਹੁ ਹੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਛਲੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
sundar sughar saroop si-aanay panchahu hee mohi chhalee ray. ||1||
the beautiful with good physique and the wise; they all have been enticed and deceived by the five vices (lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego). ||1||
ਸੋਹਣੇ, ਸੁਨੱਖੇ, ਬਾਂਕੇ, ਸਿਆਣੇ (ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਹੋਣ, ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਕੇ ਛਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਾਰੇ ਪੰਚ ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਐਸੋ ਕਉਨੁ ਬਲੀ ਰੇ ॥
jin mil maaray panch soorbeer aiso ka-un balee ray.
Is there any brave person, who, by following the Guru’s teachings, has conquered these five major vices?
ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ?
ਜਿਨਿ ਪੰਚ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰਿ ਗੁਦਾਰੇ ਸੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਇਹ ਕਲੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jin panch maar bidaar gudaaray so pooraa ih kalee ray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He alone is perfect in this age of Kalyug who has dessimated these five demons. ||1||Pause||
ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਲੀਰਾਂ ਲੀਰਾਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਵਡੀ ਕੋਮ ਵਸਿ ਭਾਗਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੁਹਕਮ ਫਉਜ ਹਠਲੀ ਰੇ ॥
vadee kom vas bhaageh naahee muhkam fa-uj hathlee ray.
These five demons are like a mighty race, they cannot be controlled and they do not run away; their army is mighty and unyielding.
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੜਾ ਡਾਢਾ ਕੋੜਮਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਨਾਹ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਭੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ; ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਬੜੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਹੈ, ਹਠ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਨਿਰਦਲਿਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਝਲੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੩੨॥
kaho naanak tin jan nirdali-aa saaDhsangat kai jhalee ray. ||2||3||132||
Nanak says, that person who has sought the refuge of the company of saints, has completely crushed them. ||2||3||132||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਤਾੜਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੩੨॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਨੀਕੀ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਊਤਮ ਆਨ ਸਗਲ ਰਸ ਫੀਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
neekee jee-a kee har kathaa ootam aan sagal ras feekee ray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The praises of God is most sublime for the soul; compared to it all other worldly tastes are insipid. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ। ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਫਿੱਕੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਹੁ ਗੁਨਿ ਧੁਨਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਖਟੁ ਬੇਤੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਿਛੁ ਲਾਈਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
baho gun Dhun mun jan khat baytay avar na kichh laa-eekee ray. ||1||
The virtuous beings, heavenly singers, silent sages and the knowers of the six Shastras proclaim that nothing else is worthy of consideration. ||1||
ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਖੂਬੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਗਵਿਦਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਲੋਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਉੱਦਮ ਨੂੰ (ਜਿੰਦ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਲਾਭਦਾਇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ॥੧॥
ਬਿਖਾਰੀ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ਅਪਾਰੀ ਸਹਜਾਰੀ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੀਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੩੩॥
bikhaaree niraaree apaaree sehjaaree saaDhsang naanak peekee ray. ||2||4||133||
O’ Nanak, these God’s praises are the cure for evil passions, unique, unequalled and peace-giving; it can be relished in the Company of the Holy. ||2||4||133||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਕਥਾ ਮਾਨੋ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਨੋਖੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਅਕੱਥ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਇਹ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਹੀ) ਪੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੧੩੩॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਹਮਾਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਟਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hamaaree pi-aaree amrit Dhaaree gur nimakh na man tay taaree ray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ brother, the Guru’s word is the ambrosial nectar and it is very dear to me, the Guru has not held it back from my mind, even for an instant. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਕਦੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁੱਲਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦਰਸਨ ਪਰਸਨ ਸਰਸਨ ਹਰਸਨ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗੀ ਕਰਤਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
darsan parsan sarsan harsan rang rangee kartaaree ray. ||1||
Through these divine words one is able to immerse in the love of the Creator and experience the delight and bliss of His sight and touch. ||1||
ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਛੋਹ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਤੇ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਖਿਨੁ ਰਮ ਗੁਰ ਗਮ ਹਰਿ ਦਮ ਨਹ ਜਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਰਿ ਹਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੩੪॥
khin ram gur gam har dam nah jam har kanth naanak ur haaree ray. ||2||5||134||
O’ Nanak, enshrine the divine word in your heart like a garland around the neck. By remembering it with every breath, one develops love for the Guru and the demon of death does not come near.||2||5||134||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਸ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਭੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਸ ਸੁਆਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆਂ ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ।ਇਸ ਹਰਿ-ਕਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲੇ ਵਿਚ ,ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਰੱਖ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੩੪॥

ਨੀਕੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਾਨੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The Company of the Holy is exalted and sublime. ||Pause||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਕ) ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਹੈ। ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਹਰ ਮੂਰਤ ਪਲ ਗਾਵਤ ਗਾਵਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਵਖਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
pahar moorat pal gaavat gaavat govind govind vakhaanee. ||1||
Where the praises of God are sung at all the time. ||1||
(ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ) ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ, ਪਲ ਪਲ, ਘੜੀ ਘੜੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਚਾਲਤ ਬੈਸਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਖਟਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
chaalat baisat sovat har jas man tan charan khataanee. ||2||
Whether walking, sitting, or sleeping, one become habituated to singing praises of God and one’s body and mind remains attuned to the love of God. ||2||
ਤੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਹਂਉ ਹਉਰੋ ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਗਉਰੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥੩॥੬॥੧੩੫॥
haN-o ha-uro too thaakur ga-uro naanak saran pachhaanee. ||3||6||135||
O’ God, I am without any virtues and You are the treasure of virtues; I have realized the importance of Your refuge, says Nanak. ||3||6||135||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈਂ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਆਈ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੬॥੧੩੫॥
