ਜੈਸੇ ਮੀਠੈ ਸਾਦਿ ਲੋਭਾਏ ਝੂਠ ਧੰਧਿ ਦੁਰਗਾਧੇ ॥੨॥
jaisay meethai saad lobhaa-ay jhooth DhanDh durgaaDhay. ||2||
Just as the sweet flavors tempt people, similarly you are lured by the odor of the false business of Maya. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੁਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੂੜੇ ਤੇ ਗੰਦੇ ਕਾਰਾਂ-ਵਿਹਾਰਾ ਨੇ॥੨॥
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਇਹ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਰਸਿ ਲਪਟਾਧੇ ॥
kaam kroDh ar lobh moh ih indree ras laptaaDhay.
One remains involved in the sensual pleasures of lust, anger, greed and emotional attachment.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਲੋਭ, ਮੋਹ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਗ਼ਲਤਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਦੀਈ ਭਵਾਰੀ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਬਿਧਾਤੈ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜਨਮਾਧੇ ॥੩॥
dee-ee bhavaaree purakh biDhaatai bahur bahur janmaaDhay. ||3||
God, the scriber of destiny, has caused him to go through rounds of births through many species. ||3||
(ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਵਾਟਣੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਉ ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤਉ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਲਾਧੇ ॥
ja-o bha-i-o kirpaal deen dukh bhanjan ta-o gur mil sabh sukh laaDhay.
When God, the destroyer of the sorrows of the helpless, became merciful, then he attains absolute peace by meeting the Guru.
ਜਦੋਂ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇਸ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਾਢੀ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧੇ ॥੪॥
kaho naanak din rain Dhi-aava-o maar kaadhee sagal upaaDhay. ||4||
Nanak says, I always meditate on that God who has driven out all my evils. ||4||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਏ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
ਇਉ ਜਪਿਓ ਭਾਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ॥
i-o japi-o bhaa-ee purakh biDhaatay.
O’ brother, this is how one can meditate on God, the scribe of our destiny.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹੀ, ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਇਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨੬॥
bha-i-o kirpaal deen dukh bhanjan janam maran dukh laathay. ||1|| rahaa-o doojaa. ||4||4||126||
One on whom God, the destroyer of the pains of the helpless, becomes merciful, all his pains of birth and death go away. ||1||Second. Pause||4||4||126|
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨੬॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਨਿਮਖ ਕਾਮ ਸੁਆਦ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਿਨਸ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
nimakh kaam su-aad kaaran kot dinas dukh paavahi.
For a moment of lust, you suffer in pain for long time.
ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਾ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਦਿਨ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਘਰੀ ਮੁਹਤ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥
gharee muhat rang maaneh fir bahur bahur pachhutaavahi. ||1||
For this momentary pleasure, you regret again and again. ||1||
ਤੂੰ ਘੜੀ ਦੋ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਅੰਧੇ ਚੇਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
anDhay chayt har har raa-i-aa.
O’ man, blinded by lust, remember the sovereign God,
ਹੇ ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ,
ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਨੇੜੈ ਆਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tayraa so din nayrhai aa-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because your day of departure from this world is drawing near. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਇਥੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਕਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਲਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਭੂਲੋ ਆਕ ਨੀਮ ਕੋ ਤੂੰਮਰੁ ॥
palak darisat daykh bhoolo aak neem ko tooNmar.
For an instant you are mislead by the outward beauty of bitter plants such as Aak, Neem and Tumma,
ਹੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਅੱਕ ਨਿੰਮ ਵਰਗੇ ਕੌੜੇ ਤੁੰਮੇ ਨੂੰ (ਜੋ ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਥੋੜੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੈਸਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਬਿਸੀਅਰ ਸਿਉ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਇਹੁ ਪਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ॥੨॥
jaisaa sang bisee-ar si-o hai ray taiso hee ih par garihu. ||2||
similarly, O’ man, affair with another’s wife is like the company of snakes. ||2||
ਹੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ! ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੱਪ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਬੈਰੀ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਤਾ ਬਸਤੁ ਰਹੀ ਅਮਾਨਾ ॥
bairee kaaran paap kartaa basat rahee amaanaa.
You are committing sins for the sake of your enemy (Maya), while completely neglecting the real commodity, the wealth of Naam.
ਵੈਰਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਤੂੰ (ਅਨੇਕਾਂ) ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਸਲ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲਾਂਭੇ ਹੀ ਪਈ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਾਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਬੈਰਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
chhod jaahi tin hee si-o sangee saajan si-o bairaanaa. ||3||
You are friends with those whom you are going to leave one day but you have enmity with your true Friend-God. ||3||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਥ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਇਹੈ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਓ ਸੋ ਉਬਰਿਓ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
sagal sansaar ihai biDh bi-aapi-o so ubri-o jis gur pooraa.
In this way the entire world is entangled in the bonds of Maya; he alone is saved, who has the perfect Guru as savior.
ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਹੀ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਓ ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੨੭॥
kaho naanak bhav saagar tari-o bha-ay puneet sareeraa. ||4||5||127||
Nanak says, the body of such a person becomes immaculate and he swims across the world ocean of vices. ||4||5||127||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਐਸਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੨੭॥

Raag Aasaa, Dupadas (two stanzas) Fifth Guru:
ਲੂਕਿ ਕਮਾਨੋ ਸੋਈ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਮੁਕਰਾਨੀ ॥
look kamaano so-ee tumH paykhi-o moorh mugaDh mukraanee.
O’ God, You see whatever we do in secrecy, but the ignorant fools still deny it.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮੰਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਲੁਕ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਮੁੱਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਪ ਕਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਲੇ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
aap kamaanay ka-o lay baaNDhay fir paachhai pachhutaanee. ||1||
They regret when they are punished in God’s court for their evil deeds. ||1||
ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਫੜੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇਰੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉੱਘੜਨ ਤੇ) ਫਿਰ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਛੁਤਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
parabh mayray sabh biDh aagai jaanee.
O’ my friend, my God knows in advance all the evil plans of your mind.
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੇ ਮੂਸੇ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਤ ਪਰਦਾ ਪਾਛੈ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bharam kay moosay tooN raakhat pardaa paachhai jee-a kee maanee.||1|| rahaa-o.
Deceived by doubt, you may hide your actions, but in the end you shall have to confess the secrets of your mind. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੇ ਠੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਪੜਦਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਭੈਤਾਂ ਤਸਲੀਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
ਜਿਤੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਕੋ ਕਰੈ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥
jit jit laa-ay tit tit laagay ki-aa ko karai paraanee.
O’ God, in whatever direction You have directed the human souls, so they are engaged. What else can one do?
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਧਰ ਉਧਰ ਉਹ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੨੮॥
bakhas laihu paarbarahm su-aamee naanak sad kurbaanee. ||2||6||128||
O’ Master-God, take pity and forgive them. Nanak is always a sacrifice to You. ||2||6||128||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ! ਹੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੨੮॥

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ ॥
apunay sayvak kee aapay raakhai aapay naam japaavai.
God Himself preserves the honor of His devotee and makes him meditate on Naam.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਕਾਜ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਤਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
jah jah kaaj kirat sayvak kee tahaa tahaa uth Dhaavai. ||1||
Wherever the devotee needs Him, God is always there to help him. ||1||
ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਥੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਪਏ, ਉਥੇ ਉਥੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਵਾਰਨ ਲਈ) ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਨਿਕਟੀ ਹੋਇ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥
sayvak ka-o niktee ho-ay dikhaavai.
To His devotee, God shows Himself to be near at hand.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਿਕਟ-ਵਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਹੋਇ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo jo kahai thaakur peh sayvak tatkaal ho-ay aavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Whatever the devotee asks his Master, that comes to pass immediately. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਸੇਵਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੰਗ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
tis sayvak kai ha-o balihaaree jo apnay parabh bhaavai.
I dedicate myself to such a devotee, who is pleasing to his God.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸੋਇ ਸੁਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਸਣਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨੯॥
tis kee so-ay sunee man hari-aa tis naanak parsan aavai. ||2||7||129||
O’ Nanak, one who hears the glory of such a devotee, his mind rejuvenates and he comes to pay him respect. ||2||7||129||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਖਿੜ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਛੁਹਣ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨੯॥

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਟੂਆ ਭੇਖ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੈਸਾ ਹੈ ਓਹੁ ਤੈਸਾ ਰੇ ॥
natoo-aa bhaykh dikhaavai baho biDh jaisaa hai oh taisaa ray.
A clown displays himself in many disguises, but inwardly he remains just as he is.
ਬਹੁ-ਰੂਪੀਆ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਂਗ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸੁਖਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
anik jon bharmi-o bharam bheetar sukheh naahee parvaysaa ray. ||1||
Similarly, a soul in bounds of Maya wanders through countless species but never enters a state of peace. ||1||
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ ਆਤਮਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੧॥
