ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਗਾਖਰੋ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਕਉਨ ਛੁਟਿਓ ਰੀ ॥
kaam kroDh ahaNkaar gaakhro sanjam ka-un chhuti-o ree.
How have you escaped from the treacherous lust, greed and egotism?
ਇਹ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਔਖਿਆਈ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕਿਸ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ?
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵ ਅਸੁਰ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਨੀਆ ਸਗਲੋ ਭਵਨੁ ਲੁਟਿਓ ਰੀ ॥੧॥
sur nar dayv asur tarai gunee-aa saglo bhavan luti-o ree. ||1||
The angels, demons and ordinary people engrossed in three modes of Maya have been robbed of their spiritual wealth by these vices. ||1||
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਭਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ, ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਦੈਂਤ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਦਾਵਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਣ ਜਾਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਹਰਿਆ ਬੂਟੁ ਰਹਿਓ ਰੀ ॥
daavaa agan bahut tarin jaalay ko-ee hari-aa boot rahi-o ree.
A forest fire burns away almost the entire vegetation, only a rare plant escapes and remains green. Similarly, a rare one escapes from the fiery worldly desires.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀ! ਜਦੋਂ ਜੰਗਲ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਘਾਹ-ਬੂਟ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹਰਾ ਰੁੱਖ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਐਸੋ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਰਨਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹਿਓ ਰੀ ॥੨॥
aiso samrath varan na saaka-o taa kee upmaa jaat na kahi-o ree. ||2||
I cannot describe the glory of that very rare spiritually strong person who escapes from fire of worldly desires. ||2||
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਇਸ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ-ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਸੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਹੈ। ਐਸੇ ਬਲੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਮੈਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੨॥
ਕਾਜਰ ਕੋਠ ਮਹਿ ਭਈ ਨ ਕਾਰੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਰਨੁ ਬਨਿਓ ਰੀ ॥
kaajar koth meh bha-ee na kaaree nirmal baran bani-o ree.
O’ my friend, even while living in this evil world, which is like a room full of black soot, I didn’t become evil and my conduct remained pure,
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਕੱਜਲ ਕੋਠੜੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ) ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ) ਮੈਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਫ਼-ਸੁਥਰਾ ਰੰਗ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਹਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਅਚਰਜ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਰੀ ॥੩॥
mahaa mantar gur hirdai basi-o achraj naam suni-o ree. ||3||
because the great mantra of the Guru is enshrined in my heart and I have listened to the wondrous Name of God. ||3||
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ)ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਰੂਪ ਬੜਾ ਬਲੀ ਮੰਤਰ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਦਰਿ ਅਵਲੋਕਨ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਚਰਣਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥
kar kirpaa parabh nadar avlokan apunai charan lagaa-ee.
Showing mercy, God looked at me with favor and united me with Him
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ (ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ) ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੱਕਿਆ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ,
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੫੧॥
paraym bhagat naanak sukh paa-i-aa saaDhoo sang samaa-ee. ||4||12||51||
O, Nanak, through loving adoration in the company of the Guru, I attained peace and merged in God. ||4||12||51||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਈ ਪੂਜਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ , ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਅਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੫੧॥
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Raag Aasaa, Seventh beat, Fifth Guru:
ਲਾਲੁ ਚੋਲਨਾ ਤੈ ਤਨਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ ॥
laal cholnaa tai tan sohi-aa.
O’ my friend, this red dress looks so befitting on your body.
(ਹੇ ਭੈਣ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਦਾ ਚੋਲਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਰਿਜਨ ਭਾਨੀ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ॥੧॥
surijan bhaanee taaN man mohi-aa. ||1||
When you became pleasing to God then you enticed His heart. ||1||
ਤੂੰ ਸੱਜਣ-ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਹੀਏਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਮੋਹ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਵਨ ਬਨੀ ਰੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਲਾਲੀ ॥
kavan banee ree tayree laalee.
O’ my dear friend, tell me what has given you this red bloom on your face
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! (ਦੱਸ,) ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਹਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਾਲੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਆ ਬਣੀ ਹੈ?
ਕਵਨ ਰੰਗਿ ਤੂੰ ਭਈ ਗੁਲਾਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kavan rang tooN bha-ee gulaalee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Whose love has rendered you the deep red hue? ||1||Pause|
ਕਿਸ ਰੰਗ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ॥
tum hee sundar tumeh suhaag.
you are truly beautiful and you have become a fortunate soul-bride.
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਤੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰਾ ਸੁਹਾਗ-ਭਾਗ ਉੱਘੜ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਮ ਘਰਿ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਤੁਮ ਘਰਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
tum ghar laalan tum ghar bhaag. ||2||
You are so fortunate that you have realized beloved-God in your heart. ||2||
ਤੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ; ਤੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਜਾਗ ਪਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤੂੰ ਸਤਵੰਤੀ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਧਾਨਿ ॥
tooN satvantee tooN parDhaan.
You are chaste and the most distinguished.
ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਭਾਨੀ ਤੁਹੀ ਸੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਿ ॥੩॥
tooN pareetam bhaanee tuhee sur gi-aan. ||3||
You are pleasing to your Beloved-God; You are endowed with the highest wisdom. ||3|||
ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ , ਤੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈਂ ॥੩॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਭਾਨੀ ਤਾਂ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੁਲਾਲ ॥
pareetam bhaanee taaN rang gulaal.
O’ my friend, It is only when I became pleasing to my beloved Husband-God then I got imbued with the deep red color of His love.
(ਹੇ ਭੈਣ! ਮੈਂ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਹੀਏਂ, ਮੈਂ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਭ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੪॥
kaho naanak subh darisat nihaal. ||4||
Nanak says, I am enjoying such a bliss due to His auspicious glance. ||4||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਹਾਂ।॥੪॥
ਸੁਨਿ ਰੀ ਸਖੀ ਇਹ ਹਮਰੀ ਘਾਲ ॥
sun ree sakhee ih hamree ghaal.
Listen, O’ my dear friend, this is my only hard work;
ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੁਸ਼ੱਕਤ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ਸਵਾਰਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੫੨॥
parabh aap seegaar savaaranhaar. ||1|| rahaa-o doojaa. ||1||52||
God, the embellisher, embellished me with all these divine virtues on His own. ||1||Second Pause||1||52||
ਕਿ ਉਸ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ॥੧॥੫੨॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਦੂਖੁ ਘਨੋ ਜਬ ਹੋਤੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
dookh ghano jab hotay door.
When I was far away from my husband-God, I used to suffer immense pain.
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਅਬ ਮਸਲਤਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
ab maslat mohi milee hadoor. ||1||
Now, through the Guru’s teachings I have realized His presence within. ||1||
ਹੁਣ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ) ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਚੁਕਾ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਰੀ ॥ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chukaa nihora sakhee sahayree. bharam ga-i-aa gur pir sang mayree l1l rahaao.
O’ my friend, the Guru has united me with my Husband-God; my doubt is dispelled and my habit of complaining is gone. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਹੇ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,ਮੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਉਲਾਹਮਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ l੧l ਰਹਾਉ l
ਨਿਕਟਿ ਆਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੇਜ ਧਰੀ ॥
nikat aan pari-a sayj Dharee.
By bringing me to God’s presence, the Guru has united me with His love.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਜ ਉਤੇ ਬਿਠਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਣਿ ਕਢਨ ਤੇ ਛੂਟਿ ਪਰੀ ॥੨॥
kaan kadhan tay chhoot paree. ||2||
Now I am spared from depending on others. ||2|
ਹੁਣ (ਧਿਰ ਧਿਰ ਦੀ) ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਬਚ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਮੰਦਰਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਉਜਾਰਾ ॥
mandar mayrai sabad ujaaraa.
My heart is spiritually illuminated by the Guru’s divine word,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ (ਸਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦੀ ਖਸਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
anad binodee khasam hamaaraa. ||3||
and I have realized my playful bliss-giving Master-God. ||3||
ਸਾਰੇ ਆਨੰਦਾਂ ਤੇ ਚੋਜ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
mastak bhaag mai pir ghar aa-i-aa.
O’ my friend, I became fortunate and realized Husband-God in my heart
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ- ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਥਿਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੨॥੫੩
thir sohaag naanak jan paa-i-aa. ||4||2||53||
O’ Nanak, I have attained eternal union with Husband-God. ||4||2||53|
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ) ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਸੁਹਾਗ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੫੩॥

ਸਾਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
saach naam mayraa man laagaa.
O’ my friends, my mind remains attuned to the Name of the eternal God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਸਦਾ) ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਲੋਗਨ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਠਾ ਬਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
logan si-o mayraa thaathaa baagaa. ||1||
With worldly people my dealings are only as much as necessary. ||1||
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਉਤਨਾ ਕੁ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਣ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਦੀ ਅੱਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਲੋੜ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੂਤੁ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਉ ਮਉਲਾ ॥
baahar soot sagal si-o ma-ulaa.
Outwardly, I am on good terms with all;
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਣ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਸਮੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਰਹਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਕਉਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
alipat raha-o jaisay jal meh ka-ulaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I remain detached from the world just as a lotus flower remains unaffected by the murky water. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਇਉਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮੁਖ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
mukh kee baat sagal si-o kartaa.
I converse with all people as needed,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੈਂ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਲੋੜ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜੀਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਧਰਤਾ ॥੨॥
jee-a sang parabh apunaa Dhartaa. ||2||
but, I keep only God enshrined in my heart. ||2||
ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥
ਦੀਸਿ ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਭੀਹਾਲਾ ॥
dees aavat hai bahut bheehaalaa.
People may see me as very unfriendly or arrogant,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਭਿਆਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ) ਬੜਾ ਰੁੱਖਾ ਕੋਰਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਸਗਲ ਚਰਨ ਕੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਲਾ ॥੩॥
sagal charan kee ih man raalaa. ||3||
but actually I remain so humble, as if I am the dust of everyone’s feet. ||3||
ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
naanak jan gur pooraa paa-i-aa.
O’ Nanak, I have met with (and followed the teaching of) the perfect Guru,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
