ਪੀੜ ਗਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਦੁਹੇਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
peerh ga-ee fir nahee duhaylee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
his pain is dispelled and he is never in grief again. ||1||Pause||
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ-ਦਰਦ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਚਰਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਲੀ ॥
kar kirpaa charan sang maylee.
The one, on whom showing mercy, God attunes to His loving devotion,
ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ॥੧॥
sookh sahj aanand suhaylee. ||1||
enjoys comforts of life and attains equipoise and bliss. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਅਤੋਲੀ ॥
saaDhsang gun gaa-ay atolee.
By singing praises of God in the congregation of the saintly persons, he becomes so virtuous that his worth cannot be evaluated.
ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਇਤਨਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਤੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਈ ਅਮੋਲੀ ॥੨॥੩੫॥
har simrat naanak bha-ee amolee. ||2||35||
O’ Nanak, by meditating on God, he becomes invaluable. ||2||35||

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦ ਮਤਸਰ ਏ ਖੇਲਤ ਸਭਿ ਜੂਐ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
kaam kroDh maa-i-aa mad matsar ay khaylat sabh joo-ai haaray.
One who joins the holy congregation is able to destroy his lust, anger, intoxication of worldly wealth and jealousy in the game of life.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ, ਈਰਖਾ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਜੂਏ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਹਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਇਹ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
sat santokh da-i-aa Dharam sach ih apunai garih bheetar vaaray. ||1||
and brings chastity, contentment, compassion, faith and truth in his heart. ||1||
ਅਤੇ ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮ ਸੱਚ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਚੂਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
janam maran chookay sabh bhaaray.
His cycle of birth and death ends along with all unnecessary responsibilities.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਲਈਆਂ) ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈਆਂ l
ਮਿਲਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਇਓ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਲੈ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
milat sang bha-i-o man nirmal gur poorai lai khin meh taaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By joining the holy congregation, mind becomes immaculate and in an instant the perfect Guru saves him from the vices. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਭ ਕੀ ਰੇਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਰਹੈ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
sabh kee rayn ho-ay rahai manoo-aa saglay deeseh meet pi-aaray.
His mind becomes so humble, as if he is the dust of the feet of all; everyone seem dear friends to him.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਸਭ ਮਧੇ ਰਵਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਤ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
sabh maDhay ravi-aa mayraa thaakur daan dayt sabh jee-a samHaaray. ||2||
He understands that my Master-God is pervading in all and sustains all beings by providing bounties.|2||
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਇਕੁ ਏਕੈ ਏਕੈ ਹੈ ਸਗਲਾ ਪਾਸਾਰੇ ॥
ayko ayk aap ik aykai aykai hai saglaa paasaaray.
God Himself is the one and only one and He alone is present in all the expanse.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਹੋਏ ਸਗਲ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
jap jap ho-ay sagal saaDh jan ayk naam Dhi-aa-ay bahut uDhaaray. ||3||
People become true saints by meditating on Naam and they save so many others from the vices. ||3||
ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਬਿਅੰਤ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਅੰਤੁ ਨਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੇ ॥
gahir gambheer bi-ant gusaa-ee ant nahee kichh paaraavaaray.
O’ God, the profound Master of the universe, Your virtues are infinite and the limits of Your creation cannot be found.
ਹੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਸਾਈਂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੩੬॥
tumHree kirpaa tay gun gaavai naanak Dhi-aa-ay Dhi-aa-ay parabh ka-o namaskaaray. ||4||36||
O’ Nanak, it is only by Your Grace that one sings Your Praises, always meditates on Your Name and humbly bows to You. ||4||36||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩੬॥

ਤੂ ਬਿਅੰਤੁ ਅਵਿਗਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਕਾਰੁ ॥
too bi-ant avigat agochar ih sabh tayraa aakaar.
O’ God, You are infinite, eternal, and incomprehensible; all this is Your creation.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ, ਇਹ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਕਿਆ ਹਮ ਜੰਤ ਕਰਹ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਜਾਂ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੁਝੈ ਮਝਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
ki-aa ham jant karah chaturaa-ee jaaN sabh kichh tujhai majhaar. ||1||
What cleverness can we, the human beings, exercise when everything happens according to Your will? ||1||
ਅਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਕੀ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਦ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪਨੇ ਬਾਲਿਕ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲੀਲਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
mayray satgur apnay baalik raakho leelaa Dhaar.
O’ my true Guru, showing Your power, protect Your children from the vices.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ! ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੌਤਕ ਵਰਤਾ ਕੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
ਦੇਹੁ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dayh sumat sadaa gun gaavaa mayray thaakur agam apaar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my incomprehensible and infinite Master-God, please bless me with the wisdom that I may always sing Your Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਹ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੈਸੇ ਜਨਨਿ ਜਠਰ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਓਹੁ ਰਹਤਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰਿ ॥
jaisay janan jathar meh paraanee oh rahtaa naam aDhaar.
O’ God, it is Your wondrous play that a creature in the mother’s womb survives by the support of Naam.
(ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਇਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਚੋਜ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਜੀਵ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰੈ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੈ ਨਾ ਪੋਹੈ ਅਗਨਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
anad karai saas saas samHaarai naa pohai agnaar. ||2||
He remembers You with each and every breath and enjoys bliss because the fire of womb cannot reach him. ||2||
ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਟ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਸੇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਪੜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੨॥
ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਇਨ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥
par Dhan par daaraa par nindaa in si-o pareet nivaar.
O’ God, please save me from the love of others’ wealth, woman, and slander.
ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਪਰਾਇਆ ਧਨ, ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ, ਪਰਾਈ ਨਿੰਦਾ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸੇਵੀ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੈ ਆਧਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
charan kamal sayvee rid antar gur pooray kai aaDhaar. ||3||
Bless me so that through the support of the perfect Guru, I may enshrine Your immaculate Name in my heart and keep meditating on it. ||3||
(ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਾਂ ॥੩॥
ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਲਾ ਜੋ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਗਾਰਿ ॥
garihu mandar mehlaa jo deeseh naa ko-ee sangaar.
O’ my friends, all these houses, mansions and palaces which you see, none of these would accompany you in the end.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਘਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਲ-ਮਾੜੀਆਂ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ (ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਇਗਾ।
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਮਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੩੭॥
jab lag jeeveh kalee kaal meh jan naanak naam samHaar. ||4||37||
O’ Nanak, as long as you live in this world, enshrine God’s Name in Your heart. ||4||37||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦ ਤਕ ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਰੱਖ ॥੪॥੩੭॥

One eternal God. realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲਕ ਜੋਬਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸੋਭਾ ਰੂਪਵੰਤੁ ਜੋੁਆਨੀ ॥
raaj milak joban garih sobhaa roopvant jo-aanee.
Power, property, youth, home, fame and the beauty of youth;
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਹਕੂਮਤਿ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਕੀ, ਜੋਬਨ, ਘਰ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ, ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ, ਜੁਆਨੀ,
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦਰਬੁ ਹਸਤੀ ਅਰੁ ਘੋੜੇ ਲਾਲ ਲਾਖ ਬੈ ਆਨੀ ॥
bahut darab hastee ar ghorhay laal laakh bai aanee.
abundant wealth, elephants, horses and very expensive jewels,
ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ, ਹਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ (ਜੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਹੋਵੇ), ਜੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਲਾਲ ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈ ਆਵੇ
ਆਗੈ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
aagai dargahi kaam na aavai chhod chalai abhimaanee. ||1||
none of these shall be of any use in God’s court. The egoistic man departs from the world leaving all these things behind.||1||
ਅਗਾਂਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਹੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਾਹੇ ਏਕ ਬਿਨਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈਐ ॥
kaahay ayk binaa chit laa-ee-ai.
Why should we attach our mind to anything other than God?
ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋੜਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ।
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
oothat baithat sovat jaagat sadaa sadaa har Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Instead, while sitting, standing, sleeping or awake, we should always meditate on God with love and devotion. ||1||Pause||
ਉਠਦਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਹਾ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਆਖਾੜੇ ਰਣ ਮਹਿ ਜਿਤੇ ਪਵਾੜੇ ॥
mahaa bachitar sundar aakhaarhay ran meh jitay pavaarhay.
One may win great contests or fights in the utmost beautiful arenas.
ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੜੇ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪਿੜ (ਕੁਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ) ਜਿੱਤਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬੜੇ ਬੜੇ ਝਗੜੇ-ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
