Raag Aassaa, Du-Paday (two stanza), Fifth Guru:
ਭਈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਦੇਹੁਰੀਆ ॥
bha-ee paraapat maanukh dayhuree-aa.
You have been blessed with this beautiful human body.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ,
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਮਿਲਣ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਰੀਆ ॥
gobind milan kee ih tayree baree-aa.
This is your turn to unite with God.
ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਮਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ।
ਅਵਰਿ ਕਾਜ ਤੇਰੈ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਕਾਮ ॥
avar kaaj tayrai kitai na kaam.
Other worldly efforts are of no use to you in realizing God,
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਗੇ,
ਮਿਲੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ॥੧॥
mil saaDhsangat bhaj kayval naam. ||1||
join the company of saintly persons and meditate only on God’s Name. ||1||
ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ॥੧॥
ਸਰੰਜਾਮਿ ਲਾਗੁ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਰਨ ਕੈ ॥
saraNjaam laag bhavjal taran kai.
Make the effort to cross over the terrifying world ocean of vices.
ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਦੇ ਆਹਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ।
ਜਨਮੁ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਜਾਤ ਰੰਗਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam baritha jaat rang maa-i-aa kai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Your life is passing away in vain in the love for Maya. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਨ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥
jap tap sanjam Dharam na kamaa-i-aa.
I have not practiced meditation, penance, self-restraint or righteous living.
ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਤਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਾਧਿਆ; ਮੈਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਧਰਮ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
sayvaa saaDh na jaani-aa har raa-i-aa.
O’ sovereign God, I have not even learnt to follow the Guru’s teachings.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਸਿੱਖੀ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਮ ਨੀਚ ਕਰੰਮਾ ॥
kaho naanak ham neech karammaa.
Nanak says, even my actions are despicable;
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਬੜਾ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਰਮਾ ॥੨॥੨੯॥
saran paray kee raakho sarmaa. ||2||29||
but I have come to your refuge, please save my honor. ||2||29||
ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖੀਂ ॥੨॥੨੯॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
tujh bin avar naahee mai doojaa tooN mayray man maahee.
Except You, there is none other for me; You alone dwell in my mind.
ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਰਹੁ।
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਸੰਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਹੇ ਜੀਅ ਡਰਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
tooN saajan sangee parabh mayraa kaahay jee-a daraahee. ||1||
O’ God, You are my friend and companion; then why should my soul be afraid of anything? ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੱਜਣ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੈ-ਭੀਤ ਹੋਵੇ?
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਓਟ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
tumree ot tumaaree aasaa.
You are my refuge and in You lies my hope.
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਬੈਠਤ ਊਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਵਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
baithat oothat sovat jaagat visar naahee tooN saas giraasaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ God, never let me forget You even while sitting, standing, sleeping, waking, with every breath and morsel of food,. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਬੈਠਦਿਆਂ, ਉਠਦਿਆਂ, ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ, ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ, ਹਰੇਕ ਗਿਰਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲ l੧l ਰਹਾਉ l
ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਕਰਾਲਾ ॥
raakh raakh saran parabh apnee agan saagar vikraalaa.
O’ God, this world is like a very dreadful ocean of fire of worldly desires and vices, please protect me by keeping me in Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਹ ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਬੜਾ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਮ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੨॥੩੦॥
naanak kay sukh-daatay satgur ham tumray baal gupaalaa. ||2||30||
O’ the merciful God, the true Guru of Nanak, I am Your innocent child. ||2||30||
ਹੇ ਗੁਪਾਲ! ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ! ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ-ਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ (ਅੰਞਾਣ) ਬੱਚਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੩੦॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਲੀਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
har jan leenay parabhoo chhadaa-ay.
God saves his devotees from the clutches of Maya.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ-ਡੈਣ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਪ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਾਪੁ ਮੁਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pareetam si-o mayro man maani-aa taap mu-aa bikh khaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My mind developed complete faith in the beloved God, therefore, my misery from the poison of Maya has disappeared. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਗਿੱਝਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਤਾਪ ਇਉਂ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਾਲਾ ਤਾਊ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥
paalaa taa-oo kachhoo na bi-aapai raam naam gun gaa-ay.
Greed and fear of Maya does not affect the one who keep singing praises of God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਤੇ, ਨਾਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਦਬਾਉ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਡਾਕੀ ਕੋ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥੧॥
daakee ko chit kachhoo na laagai charan kamal sarnaa-ay. ||1||
By seeking the protection of God’s love, the mind is not affected by Maya, the dreadful witch ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ-ਡੈਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
sant parsaad bha-ay kirpaalaa ho-ay aap sahaa-ay.
By the Guru’s grace, God has shown His Mercy to me and He Himself has become my support.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਮਾਇਆ ਡੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ) ਆਪ ਸਹਾਈ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਿਤਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇ ॥੨॥੩੧॥
gun niDhaan nit gaavai naanak sahsaa dukh mitaa-ay. ||2||31||
Dispelling all his doubts and sorrows, Nanak daily sings praises of God, the treasure of virtues. |2||31||
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩੧॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਅਉਖਧੁ ਖਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
a-ukhaDh khaa-i-o har ko naa-o.
One who has taken the medicine of Naam (meditated on Naam),
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਦਵਾਈ ਖਾਧੀ,
ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਦੁਖ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥
sukh paa-ay dukh binsi-aa thaa-o. ||1||
his love for Maya, the source of all sorrows, was completely destroyed and he attained total bliss. ||1||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਸੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਲਏ ॥੧॥
ਤਾਪੁ ਗਇਆ ਬਚਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
taap ga-i-aa bachan gur pooray.
The maladies arising from the love for Maya goes away by meditating on God’s Name through the teachings of the perfect Guru,
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਮ-ਦਵਾਈ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਤਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਵਿਸੂਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anad bha-i-aa sabh mitay visooray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
all sorrows go away and total bliss arises in the mind. ||1||Pause||
ਆਤਮਕ-ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੨॥੩੨॥
jee-a jant sagal sukh paa-i-aa. paarbarahm naanak man Dhi-aa-i-aa. ||2||32||
O’ Nanak, all those who meditated on the supreme God with loving devotion, attained total bliss. ||2||32||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨॥੩੨॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਬਾਂਛਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੁ ਬੇਲਾ ਆਈ ॥
baaNchhat naahee so baylaa aa-ee.
The time of death, which no one wishes for, eventually comes.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਮਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਬਿਨੁ ਹੁਕਮੈ ਕਿਉ ਬੁਝੈ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੧॥
bin hukmai ki-o bujhai bujhaa-ee. ||1||
Without God’s will, one does not understand this fact even if one tries. ||1||
ਜਦ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਝਾਓ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਠੰਢੀ ਤਾਤੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਖਾਈ ॥
thadhee taatee mitee khaa-ee.
The body after death is disposed off in water, by fire or in earth.
ਮਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਲ-ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅੱਗ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ (ਦੱਬਿਆਂ) ਮਿੱਟੀ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਓਹੁ ਨ ਬਾਲਾ ਬੂਢਾ ਭਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
oh na baalaa boodhaa bhaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
but, O’ brother, the human soul, being part of the Supreme Soul, neither gets young nor old and never dies. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ਼ ਹੈ ਜੋ) ਨਾਹ ਕਦੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਕਦੇ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ)॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਾਧ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
naanak daas saaDh sarnaa-ee.
O’ Nanak, by seeking the refuge of the Guru,
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ,
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਉ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਈ ॥੨॥੩੩॥
gur parsaad bha-o paar paraa-ee. ||2||33||
and by the Guru’s grace, one can eradicate the fear of death. ||2||33||
ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮੌਤ ਦੇ) ਡਰ-ਸਹਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
sadaa sadaa aatam pargaas.
The mind of that person remains forever spiritually enlightened;
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
saaDhsangat har charan nivaas. ||1||
who, in the holy congregation, remains attuned to the God’s Name. ||1||
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਤਿ ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
raam naam nit jap man mayray.
O’ my mind, always meditate on God’s Name with loving devotion.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਜਾਹਿ ਸਭੇ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
seetal saaNt sadaa sukh paavahi kilvikh jaahi sabhay man tayray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind, all your sins would depart and you would attain everlasting peace, tranquility and contentment. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਤੇਰਾ ਆਪਾ ਠੰਡਾ-ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗੀ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਮ ॥
kaho naanak jaa kay pooran karam.
Nanak says, the one who is blessed with perfect destiny,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥੨॥੩੪॥
satgur bhaytay pooran paarbarahm. ||2||34||
meets the true Guru and unites with the perfect supreme God. ||2||34||
ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩੪॥
ਦੂਜੇ ਘਰ ਕੇ ਚਉਤੀਸ ॥
doojay ghar kay cha-utees.

ਜਾ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬੇਲੀ ॥
jaa kaa har su-aamee parabh baylee.
The one whose friend and helper becomes the Master-God Himself,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਦਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
