ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਅਹਿ ਨੀਤ ॥
kaho naanak gun gaa-ee-ah neet.
Nanak Says, always sing the Praises of God.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਜਾਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਚੀਤ ॥੪॥੧੯॥
mukh oojal ho-ay nirmal cheet. ||4||19||
By doing so the mind becomes pure and honor is obtained both here and hereafter. ||4||19||
ਇਸ ਉੱਦਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ, ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੧੯॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
na-o niDh tayrai sagal niDhaan.
O’ God, in Your possession are all the nine treasures of the world.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਜਗਤ ਦੀਆਂ) ਨੌ ਹੀ ਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ।
ਇਛਾ ਪੂਰਕੁ ਰਖੈ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੧॥
ichhaa poorak rakhai nidaan. ||1||
You fulfill the desires of all the beings and save them in the end. ||1||
ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੋ ਪਿਆਰੋ ਤਾ ਕੈਸੀ ਭੂਖਾ ॥
tooN mayro pi-aaro taa kaisee bhookhaa.
O’ God, If I have Your love, then I do not have any worldly desires.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਤੂੰ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਦੂਖਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tooN man vasi-aa lagai na dookhaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
When You dwell within my mind, no misery can afflict me. ||1||Pause||
ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
jo tooN karahi so-ee parvaan.
O’ God, whatever You do, is acceptable to me.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੋ ਕੁੱਛ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਮਨਜੂਰ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਚੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਣੁ ॥੨॥
saachay saahib tayraa sach furmaan. ||2||
O’ the eternal Master, eternal is Your command. ||2||
ਹੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਭੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
jaa tuDh bhaavai taa har gun gaa-o.
O’ God, when it pleases You, I sing Your praises.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਤੇਰੈ ਘਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਆਉ ॥੩॥
tayrai ghar sadaa sadaa hai ni-aa-o. ||3||
In Your court, there is justice, forever and ever. ||3||
ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ॥
saachay saahib alakh abhayv.
O’ my eternal Master-God, You are unfathomable and incomprehensible.
ਹੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਅਲੱਖ ਤੇ ਅਭੇਵ!
ਨਾਨਕ ਲਾਇਆ ਲਾਗਾ ਸੇਵ ॥੪॥੨੦॥
naanak laa-i-aa laagaa sayv. ||4||20||
O’ Nanak, one can engage in devotional worship only when inspired by You. ||4||20||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਤੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੦॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਨਿਕਟਿ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਾ ॥
nikat jee-a kai sad hee sangaa.
God is always near at hand in the company of His beings.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਰੂਪ ਅਰੁ ਰੰਗਾ ॥੧॥
kudrat vartai roop ar rangaa. ||1||
His creative power is pervading, in all forms and colors. ||1||
ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਕਲਾ (ਤਾਕਤ) ਸਭ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਰ੍ਹੈ ਨ ਝੁਰੈ ਨਾ ਮਨੁ ਰੋਵਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
karHai na jhurai naa man rovanhaaraa.
The mind of that person never agonizes nor cries out in pain or fear,
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਕਦੇ ਖਿੱਝਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਝੁਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਗਿਲੇ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ,
ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਵਿਗਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avinaasee avigat agochar sadaa salaamat khasam hamaaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who develops this faith that our Master-God is imperishable, invisible, incomprehensible, and forever secure and safe. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਤੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਾ-ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖਸਮ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਰੇ ਕਉ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ॥
tayray daasray ka-o kis kee kaan.
O’ God, Your humble devotee does not remain subservience to anyone,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ।
ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਮੀਰਾ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਣਿ ॥੨॥
jis kee meeraa raakhai aan. ||2||
because You, the sovereign God protects his honor Yourself. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਆਪ ਰੱਖੇ ॥੨॥
ਜੋ ਲਉਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਆ ਅਜਾਤਿ ॥
jo la-udaa parabh kee-aa ajaat.
The humble servant, whom God has released from the bonds of social status,
ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਲਉਡੇ ਕਉ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਤਾਤਿ ॥੩॥
tis la-uday ka-o kis kee taat. ||3||
that devotee does not feel jealous of anyone’s higher status. ||3||
ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਵੇਮੁਹਤਾਜਾ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥
vaymuhtaajaa vayparvaahu.
God is not dependent upon anyone and He is free of all worries.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਬੇ-ਪਰਵਾਹ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਕਹਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਵਾਹੁ ॥੪॥੨੧॥
naanak daas kahhu gur vaahu. ||4||21||
O’ Nanak, recite praises of the supreme God.||4||21||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਆਖਦੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੪॥੨੧॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਹੋਛੈ ਰਸਿ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
har ras chhod hochhai ras maataa.
Forsaking the sublime nectar of God’s Name, human being is engrossed in the worthless and perishable worldly pleasures.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਾਮਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੁੱਕ ਭੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
ghar meh vasat baahar uth jaataa. ||1||
The wealth of Naam is present in one’s heart, but he runs out to find it. ||1||
ਨਾਮ-ਵਸਤ (ਇਸ-ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਉਠ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸੁਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਚੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਥਾ ॥
sunee na jaa-ee sach amrit kaathaa.
He doesn’t like to listen to the ambrosial divine words of God’s praises.
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਨੀਆਂ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਰਾਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਝੂਠੀ ਲਗਿ ਗਾਥਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raar karat jhoothee lag gaathaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
But gladly enters into big arguments and contentions after listening to false scriptures. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰ ਝੂਠੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਾਹ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਥਾ-ਕਹਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਾ-ਬਖੇੜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਵਜਹੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਾ ਸੇਵ ਬਿਰਾਨੀ ॥
vajahu saahib kaa sayv biraanee.
He takes his sustenance from God, but serves another.
ਉਹ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੈ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਪਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਿਗਾਨੀ l
ਐਸੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਅਛਾਦਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
aisay gunah achhaadi-o paraanee. ||2||
Such are the kind of sins in which the mortal is engrossed. ||2||
ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਬਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲੂਕ ਜੋ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੀ ॥
tis si-o look jo sad hee sangee.
He tries to hide from God who is always his companion.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਓਹਲਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਸੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਮੰਗੀ ॥੩॥
kaam na aavai so fir fir mangee. ||3||
He keeps begging the worldly wealth which is of no use in the end. ||3||
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਚੀਜ਼ (ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਕਿਸੇ) ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣੀ, ਉਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
kaho naanak parabh deen da-i-aalaa.
Nanak says, O’ the merciful God of the meek,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੪॥੨੨॥
ji-o bhaavai ti-o kar partipaalaa. ||4||22||
please save human beings from these vices in whatever way it pleases You. ||4||22||
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਉ ਤੋਂ) ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰ ॥੪॥੨੨॥

ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jee-a paraan Dhan har ko naam.
God’s Name is the true wealth for life and soul.
ਜਿੰਦ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹੀ ਅਸਲ) ਧਨ ਹੈ,
ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾਂ ਉਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
eehaa oohaaN un sang kaam. ||1||
This wealth is of use both here and hereafter. ||1||
(ਇਹ ਧਨ) ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ (ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਅਵਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਥੋਰਾ ॥
bin har naam avar sabh thoraa.
Without God’s Name, all the worldly wealth is insufficient and useless.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰਾ (ਧਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taripat aghaavai har darsan man moraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
It is only with the realizationof God that my mind is totally satiated. ||1||Pause||
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਧਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਲਾਲ ॥
bhagat bhandaar gurbaanee laal.
The devotional worship through the Guru’s word is the most precious wealth.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਲਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਨ।
ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੨॥
gaavat sunat kamaavat nihaal. ||2||
By singing, listening and acting upon it, the mind remains delighted. ||2||
(ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ) ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਮਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
charan kamal si-o laago maan.
The mind of that person remains attuned to God’s Love.,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਗਿਆ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੂਠੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
satgur toothai keeno daan. ||3||
whom the true Guru, in his pleasure, blessed the gift of Naam. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੩॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਖਿਆ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ॥
naanak ka-o gur deekhi-aa deenH.
O’ Nanak, whom the Guru blessed with such a teaching,
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ॥੪॥੨੩॥

he saw the eternal God in each and every heart. ||4||23||
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੨੩॥

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਭਰੇਪੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
anad binod bharaypur Dhaari-aa.
All these plays and joyful scenes are established by the all pervading God,
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੌਤਕ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ੇ ਉਸ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਰਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
apunaa kaaraj aap savaari-aa. ||1||
He Himself has embellished His creation with joyful scenes and plays. ||1||
ਆਪਣੇ ਰਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੌਤਕ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ l
ਪੂਰ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀ ॥

Perfect are the bounties of the Perfect God,
ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਉਸ ਅਭੁੱਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਸੋਭ ਜਾ ਕੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bharipur Dhaar rahee sobh jaa kee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
His glory is fully pervading everywhere. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ-ਵਡਿਆਈ (ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਖਿੱਲਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ॥
naam niDhaan jaa kee nirmal so-ay.
He whose Name is the treasure of all virtues and singing whose praises people’s life become immaculate,
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
aapay kartaa avar na ko-ay. ||2||
that God Himself is the creator of the entire universe and none other. ||2||
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
jee-a jant sabh taa kai haath.
All beings and creatures are under His control.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ,
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥੩॥
rav rahi-aa parabh sabh kai saath. ||3||
that God is pervading in all and is always with them. ||3||
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
