ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੋਤਿ ॥੧੬॥
jan naanak naam salaahi too sach sachay sayvaa tayree hot. ||16||
O’ Nanak, praise God’s name, and this will be your true service of God. ||16|
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ (ਭੀ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰ, ਸੱਚ-ਮੁਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

Salok, Fourth Guru:
ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
sabh ras tin kai ridai heh jin har vasi-aa man maahi.
Those, in whose mind God dwells, enjoy the taste of all the pleasures in life
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਨ l
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਭਿ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
har dargahi tay mukh ujlay tin ka-o sabh daykhan jaahi.
Everyone longs for their vision, and they are honored in God’s presence.
ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਲੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਖਿੜੇ-ਮੱਥੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਜਿਨ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਭਉ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jin nirbha-o naam Dhi-aa-i-aa tin ka-o bha-o ko-ee naahi.
Those who have lovingly remembered the Name of the fearless God, do not have any kind of fear.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਰੇਵਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਆਹਿ ॥
har utam tinee sarayvi-aa jin ka-o Dhur likhi-aa aahi.
Only those people who are so predestined, have remembered the sublime God with devotion.
ਉੱਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ (ਚੰਗੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ) ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪੈਨਾਈਅਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
tay har dargahi painaa-ee-ah jin har vuthaa man maahi.
Those, within whose minds God dwells, are honored in God’s presence.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਨ ਪਿਛੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਹਿ ॥
o-ay aap taray sabh kutamb si-o tin pichhai sabh jagat chhadaahi.
They, along with their family, cross over the world-ocean of vices, and by inspiring others to follow their lead, they save the entire world from vices.
ਉਹ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੂਰਨਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਤੋਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਜਨ ਤਿਨ ਵੇਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਮ ਜੀਵਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
jan naanak ka-o har mayl jan tin vaykh vaykh ham jeevaahi. ||1||
O’ God, please unite devotee Nanak with such holy devotees of Yours, so that by beholding and following them, I may also attain spiritual life.||1||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਮਿਲਾ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜੀਵੀਏ l

Fourth Guru:
ਸਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਭਈ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੀ ਜਿਥੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੈਠਾ ਆਇ ॥
saa Dhartee bha-ee haree-aavalee jithai mayraa satgur baithaa aa-ay.
Green and sanctified has become that land where my true Guru has come to sit.
ਜਿਸੁ ਭੋਏਂ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਭੋਏਂ ਹਰੀ-ਭਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਸੇ ਜੰਤ ਭਏ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
say jant bha-ay haree-aavlay jinee mayraa satgur daykhi-aa jaa-ay.
Those persons have bloomed in happiness who have seen the sight of my true Guru.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਖਿੜ ਆਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਕੁਲੁ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੁ ਜਨਨੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਣਿਆ ਮਾਇ ॥
Dhan Dhan pitaa Dhan Dhan kul Dhan Dhan so jannee jin guroo jani-aa maa-ay.
O’ mother, blessed is the father, blessed is the family and greatly blessed is that mother who gave birth to the Guru.
ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਉਹ ਪਿਉ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕੁਲ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ,ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਠਾ ਤਿਨਾ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
Dhan Dhan guroo jin naam araaDhi-aa aap tari-aa jinee dithaa tinaa la-ay chhadaa-ay.
Blessed is the Guru, who has remembered Naam with devotion; he has saved himself and also helped those to cross over the worldly ocean, who have associated with him.
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ; ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਤਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਧੋਵੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
har satgur maylhu da-i-aa kar jan naanak Dhovai paa-ay. ||2||
O’ God, please bestow mercy and unite me with the true Guru, so that devotee Nanak may wash his feet (humbly serve him).||2||
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ (ਅਜੇਹਾ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੋ, ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਵੇ l

Pauree:
ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
sach sachaa satgur amar hai jis andar har ur Dhaari-aa.
The true Guru is the embodiment of the eternal and immortal God, because he has enshrined God in his heart.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਮਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰੋਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥
sach sachaa satgur purakh hai jin kaam kroDh bikh maari-aa.
The true Guru is the embodiment of the eternal God, because he has eradicated the poison of lust and anger from within.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੁ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਡਿਠਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
jaa dithaa pooraa satguroo taaN andrahu man saaDhaari-aa.
When I saw the perfect true Guru, my mind was comforted from within.
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ (ਅਜੇਹਾ ਇਹ) ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਧੀਰਜ ਆ ਗਈ।
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਿ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
balihaaree gur aapnay sadaa sadaa ghum vaari-aa.
Therefore ever and forever, I dedicate myself to the true Guru.
(ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਤੇ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਤਾ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੭॥
gurmukh jitaa manmukh haari-aa. ||17||
A Guru’ follower wins the game of life whereas a self-willed one loses it.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ) ਜਿੱਤ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l

Salok, Fourth Guru:
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿਓਨੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਸੀ ॥
kar kirpaa satgur mayli-on mukh gurmukh naam Dhi-aa-isee.
Bestowing mercy, he whom God has united with the true Guru, through the Guru’s teachings utters Naam with love and devotion.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਵਸੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਘਰੀ ਵਸਾਇਸੀ ॥
so karay je satgur bhaavsee gur pooraa gharee vasaa-isee.
He does only that which pleases the true Guru, and the perfect Guru enshrines the treasure of Naam within him.
ਉਹੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ‘ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ’ ਵਸਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਸਭੁ ਗਵਾਇਸੀ ॥
jin andar naam niDhaan hai tin kaa bha-o sabh gavaa-isee.
Those, within whom is the treasure of Naam, the Guru dispels all their fears.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ (ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ) ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ ਰਖਣ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਹੋਇ ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਝਖਿ ਝਖਿ ਜਾਇਸੀ ॥
jin rakhan ka-o har aap ho-ay hor kaytee jhakh jhakh jaa-isee.
Those, whom God Himself protects, many other people struggle to harm them, but they all would go away after making vain efforts.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੋਵੇ, ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਖਪ ਖਪ ਮਰੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਛੋਡਾਇਸੀ ॥੧॥
jan naanak naam Dhi-aa-ay too har halat palat chhodaa-isee. ||1||
O’ Nanak, remember Naam with devotion, and God shall deliver you, here and hereafter.||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲਏਗਾ l

Fourth Guru:
ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵਦੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
gursikhaa kai man bhaavdee gur satgur kee vadi-aa-ee.
The glory of the true Guru is pleasing to the minds of Guru’s disciples.
ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈ ॥
har raakho paij satguroo kee nit charhai savaa-ee.
O’ God, You preserve the honor of the true Guru, which multiplies day by day.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪੈਜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦਿਨੋ ਦਿਨ ਵਧਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਛਡਾਈ ॥
gur satgur kai man paarbarahm hai paarbarahm chhadaa-ee.
In the mind of the great true Guru dwells that supreme God who saves all human beings from vices.
ਜੋ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ i
ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਾਣੁ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਭ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਵਾਈ ॥
gur satgur taan deebaan har tin sabh aan nivaa-ee.
God is the power and support of the true Guru, and He Himself has made all human beings to bow before the true Guru.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਤੇ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਿਆ ਨਿਵਾਏ ਹਨ l
ਜਿਨੀ ਡਿਠਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
jinee dithaa mayraa satgur bhaa-o kar tin kay sabh paap gavaa-ee.
Those who have seen my true Guru with love in their hearts, have had all their sins erased.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਬਹੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥
har dargeh tay mukh ujlay baho sobhaa paa-ee.
They are honored in God’s presence, and enjoy great glory (in the world).
ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥੨॥
jan naanak mangai Dhoorh tin jo gur kay sikh mayray bhaa-ee. ||2||
Nanak begs for the most humble service of those brothers of mine, who are such great disciples of the Guru.||2||
ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ) ਸਿੱਖ ਹਨ, ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਹਉ ਆਖਿ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
ha-o aakh salaahee sifat sach sach sachay kee vadi-aa-ee.
I chant the praises and glories of the True One. True is the glorious greatness of the eternal God.
ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਵਡਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ।
ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
saalaahee sach salaah sach sach keemat kinai na paa-ee.
The eternal God is praiseworthy and praising Him is the righteous deed; however, no one knows His worth.
ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
