ਸਭ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੀਆ ॥੩॥
sabh dunee-aa aavan jaanee-aa. ||3||
(Then one realizes that) The entire world is subject to coming and going.
ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ
ਵਿਚਿ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਈਐ ॥
vich dunee-aa sayv kamaa-ee-ai.
Therefore, (instead of worrying about the transitory nature of the world) we should serve God by reciting His Name with love and devotion.
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ (ਆ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ (ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
taa dargeh baisan paa-ee-ai.
Then, we shall be united with Him.
ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਣ ਨੂੰ ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਹ ਲੁਡਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੩੩॥
kaho naanak baah ludaa-ee-ai. ||4||33||
Nanak says, we shall be worry free (after uniting with Him).
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One Creator God. realized by the Grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਭਾਇ ॥
ha-o satgur sayvee aapnaa ik man ik chit bhaa-ay.
I follow the teachings of my True Guru with single-minded devotion, and lovingly focus my consciousness on Him.
ਮੈਂ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਕਾਗ੍ਰ ਚਿੱਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਨ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਤੀਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥
satgur man kaamnaa tirath hai jis no day-ay bujhaa-ay.
The True Guru is like a wish-fulfilling place of pilgrimage. This fact is known to only those, to whom The True Guru lets it be known.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਇੱਛਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੀਰਥ ਹੈ l ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਸਮਝਾਏ।
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਵਣਾ ਜੋ ਇਛੈ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇ ॥
man chindi-aa var paavnaa jo ichhai so fal paa-ay.
By the blessings from the True Guru, all the desires of the heart get fulfilled.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਤ ਮੰਗ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਇੱਛਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਫਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਉ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
naa-o Dhi-aa-ee-ai naa-o mangee-ai naamay sahj samaa-ay. ||1||
However, one should pray to get only Naam, meditate on Naam and thus get into a state of poise and bliss.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਤਿਖ ਜਾਇ ॥
man mayray har ras chaakh tikh jaa-ay.
O’ my mind, taste the Sublime Nectar of Naam and your thirst for worldly riches shall be quenched.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖ, (ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗੀ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jinee gurmukh chaakhi-aa sehjay rahay samaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those who completely submitted to the Guru and tasted the existence of God, entered and remained in the state of poise.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ‘ਹਰਿ ਰਸ’ ਚੱਖਿਆ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
jinee satgur sayvi-aa tinee paa-i-aa naam niDhaan.
Those who served the True Guru by following his teachings obtained the Treasure of Naam.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ (ਸਭ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
antar har ras rav rahi-aa chookaa man abhimaan.
Their hearts remained saturated with God’s nectar and they lost their arrogance.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਰਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
hirdai kamal pargaasi-aa laagaa sahj Dhi-aan.
Like a lotus, their hearts blossomed with joy, they attuned themselves to God and they went into the state of poise.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦਾ ਕੌਲ-ਫੁੱਲ ਖਿੜ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
man nirmal har rav rahi-aa paa-i-aa dargahi maan. ||2||
Immersed in God’s love, their minds became pure and they received honor in God’s court.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
satgur sayvan aapnaa tay virlay sansaar.
Those who serve the True Guru in this world are very rare.
(ਪਰ) ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹਨ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
ha-umai mamtaa maar kai har raakhi-aa ur Dhaar.
Those who keep God enshrined in their hearts subdue egotism and possessiveness.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਾ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
ha-o tin kai balihaarnai jinaa naamay lagaa pi-aar.
I am a sacrifice to those who are in love with Naam.
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੇਈ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗੀ ਜਿਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
say-ee sukhee-ay chahu jugee jinaa naam akhut apaar. ||3||
Throughout the ages of time, they alone are in peace who have the endless wealth of God’s Name.
ਉਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਹ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਨਾਮ (ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ) ਹੈ
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਚੂਕੈ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
gur mili-ai naam paa-ee-ai chookai moh pi-aas.
Meeting with the Guru, Naam is obtained, and the thirst of emotional attachment departs.
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥
har saytee man rav rahi-aa ghar hee maahi udaas.
Then, mind stays permeated with God and detached from the world even while living in the world and doing every activity of the world normally.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਨਾਲ ਇਕ-ਮਿਕ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਉਪਰਾਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸਾਦੁ ਆਇਆ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਸੁ ॥
jinaa har kaa saad aa-i-aa ha-o tin balihaarai jaas.
I dedicate myself to those who enjoy the Sublime Taste of God’s Name.
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੪॥
naanak nadree paa-ee-ai sach naam guntaas. ||4||1||34||
(But) O’ Nanak, we receive Naam, the treasure of all good, only through the grace of the Almighty.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ l

Siree Raag, by the Third Guru:
ਬਹੁ ਭੇਖ ਕਰਿ ਭਰਮਾਈਐ ਮਨਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਕਪਟੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
baho bhaykh kar bharmaa-ee-ai man hirdai kapat kamaa-ay.
People wear all sorts of costumes and wander all around, but in their hearts and minds, they practice deception.
ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਭੇਖ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਭਰਮਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਆਪਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਤੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨਾਲ ਠੱਗੀ ਠੋਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਈ ਮਰਿ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
har kaa mahal na paav-ee mar vistaa maahi samaa-ay. ||1||
They do not succeed in realizing God. Instead, they die spiritually and their minds stay immersed in evil thoughts.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, (ਉਹ ਸਗੋਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਕੇ (ਠੱਗੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਗੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਦਾਸੁ ॥
man ray garih hee maahi udaas.
O mind, remain detached in the midst of your household.
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਹੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ (ਰਹੁ)।
ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sach sanjam karnee so karay gurmukh ho-ay pargaas. ||1|| r
(But) Only that person practices truth (recites Naam), self-discipline and nobility, whose mind is enlightened by Guru’s grace.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾਈ, ਸਾਧਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਕ ਅਮਲ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਤਿਆ ਗਤਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਘਰੈ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
gur kai sabad man jeeti-aa gat mukat gharai meh paa-ay.
He, who has conquered his mind through the Guru’s instruction, obtains salvation and deliverance even while living at home.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
har kaa naam Dhi-aa-ee-ai satsangat mayl milaa-ay. ||2||
Therefore, O my mind, you should recite Naam in the company of the saintly.
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਹੇ ਮਨ!) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੇ ਇਕੱਠ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਜੇ ਲਖ ਇਸਤਰੀਆ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਹਿ ਨਵ ਖੰਡ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥
jay lakh istaree-aa bhog karahi nav khand raaj kamaahi.
You may enjoy the pleasures of hundreds of thousands of women, and rule the nine continents of the world.
ਜੇ ਤੂੰ (ਕਾਮ-ਵਾਸਨਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਲੱਖ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਭੀ ਭੋਗ ਲਏਂ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਭੀ ਕਰ ਲਏਂ,
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
bin satgur sukh na paav-ee fir fir jonee paahi. ||3||
But without the True Guru, you will not find peace; you will be reincarnated over and over again.
ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕੇਂਗਾ, (ਸਗੋਂ) ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ
ਹਰਿ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਪਹਿਰਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
har haar kanth jinee pahiri-aa gur charnee chit laa-ay.
Those who always keep the memory of the Almighty in their hearts by humbly following the Guru’s teaching.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਹਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਨ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਨਾ ਪਿਛੈ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਓਨਾ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥੪॥
tinaa pichhai riDh siDh firai onaa til na tamaa-ay. ||4||
Worldly wealth and supernatural spiritual powers follow them, but they do not care for such things at all.
ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ l
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
jo parabh bhaavai so thee-ai avar na karnaa jaa-ay.
Whatever pleases God’s Will comes to pass. Nothing else can be done.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਕੁਛ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੫॥੨॥੩੫॥
jan naanak jeevai naam lai har dayvhu sahj subhaa-ay. ||5||2||35||
O’ God, please bless me Naam. so that your servant Nanak can spiritually survive by intuitively reciting your Name.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, ਤਾਕਿ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ l
