ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਨਹਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
bhagat vachhal purakh pooran maneh chindi-aa paa-ee-ai.
If we enshrine in our heart the Name of the perfect God, who is the lover of devotional worship then all the desires of our mind are fulfilled.
ਜੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਈਏ, ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਿਤਵਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਮ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਉਧਾਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈਐ ॥
tam anDh koop tay uDhaarai naam man vasaa-ee-ai.
If we enshrine Naam within our mind, then God lifts us from the dark pit of Maya.
ਜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਈਏ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖੂਹ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਰ ਸਿਧ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਗੁਣ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਗਤੀ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
sur siDh gan ganDharab mun jan gun anik bhagtee gaa-i-aa.
The angels, the adepts, the heavenly singers, the sages and devotees have all been singing His countless praises.
ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਜੋਗੀ, ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਵਈਏ, ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਉਸੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
binvant naanak karahu kirpaa paarbarahm har raa-i-aa. ||2||
Nanak prays: O’ my sovereign supreme God, bestow mercy and bless me so that I may keep singing Your praises. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ l
ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
chayt manaa paarbarahm parmaysar sarab kalaa jin Dhaaree.
O’ my mind, remember that supreme transcendent God who wields all power
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖ, ਸਾਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥
karunaa mai samrath su-aamee ghat ghat paraan aDhaaree.
God is compassionate, omnipotent and the support of the life of everyone.
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਪੁੰਜ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਤਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥
paraan man tan jee-a daataa bay-ant agam apaaro.
The infinite, incomprehensible and unfathomable God is the giver of the breath of life, mind, body and soul.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹੈ, ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਹੈ l
ਸਰਣਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਮੋਹਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਦਾਰੋ ॥
saran jog samrath mohan sarab dokh bidaaro.
God is capable of protecting all in his refuge, He is all-powerful and dispeller of all sorrows.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਦੀ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥
rog sog sabh dokh binsahi japat naam muraaree.
Yes, all ailments, pains and sorrows are dispelled by meditating on God’s Name.
ਮੁਰਾਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਐਬ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਮਰਥ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
binvant naanak karahu kirpaa samrath sabh kal Dhaaree. ||3||
Nanak prays: O’ the Wielder of all power, God, please show Your mercy on me so that I may always remember You. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ l
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ਮਨਾ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
gun gaa-o manaa achut abhinaasee sabh tay ooch da-i-aalaa.
O my mind, sing Praises of God who is eternal, merciful and Highest of the high.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ l
ਬਿਸੰਭਰੁ ਦੇਵਨ ਕਉ ਏਕੈ ਸਰਬ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
bisambhar dayvan ka-o aykai sarab karai partipaalaa.
God is the sustainer of the universe, the great giver and He cherishes all.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦੇਣ ਜੋਗਾ ਹੈ,ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਮਹਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਾਨਾ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਸੈ ॥
partipaal mahaa da-i-aal daanaa da-i-aa Dhaaray sabh kisai.
He is the most kind and wise nurturer of the world and He is compassionate to all.
ਪਰਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਨਾਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਸੈ ॥
kaal kantak lobh moh naasai jee-a jaa kai parabh basai.
One in whose heart dwells God, all his fear of painful death, greed and emotional attachment simply vanishes.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਲੋਭ ਤੇ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਦੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲਾ ॥
suparsan dayvaa safal sayvaa bha-ee pooran ghaalaa.
One with whom God is thoroughly pleased, all his service and the effort to (unite with God) becomes successful and approved.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਫਲਦਾਇਕ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀ ਜਪਤ ਦੀਨ ਦੈਆਲਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
binvant naanak ichh punee japat deen dai-aalaa. ||4||3||
Nanak submits that by remembering that merciful God of the meek, all my wishes have been fulfilled. ||4||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩॥

ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰੇਹਾ ਮਨਾਇ ਲੈਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੈ ॥
sun sakhee-ay mil udam karayhaa manaa-ay laihi har kantai.
Listen O’ my friends, let’s join together and make the effort to meditate and please our husband-God.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਸੁਣ (ਆ,) ਰਲ ਕੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕਰੀਏ (ਭਜਨ ਕਰੀਏ) ਤੇ ਕੰਤ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ।
ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਮੋਹਹ ਸਾਧੂ ਮੰਤੈ ॥
maan ti-aag kar bhagat thag-uree mohah saaDhoo mantai.
Renouncing our ego, let us charm Him with the potion of devotional worship and the mantra of the Guru.
ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਕੰਤ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਠਗਬੂਟੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਬੂਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ) ਮੋਹ ਲਈਏ।
ਸਖੀ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਇਹ ਰੀਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਭਗਵੰਤੈ ॥
sakhee vas aa-i-aa fir chhod na jaa-ee ih reet bhalee bhagvantai.
O’ my friend, if once He accepts our love, He shall never leave us again because such is the beautiful tradition of God.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀ! ਉਸ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਵੱਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਕਦੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਰਾ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਨਰਕ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੰਤੈ ॥੧॥
naanak jaraa maran bhai narak nivaarai puneet karai tis jantai. ||1||
O Nanak, God purifies that person’s spiritual life and dispels his fear of old age, death and extreme sufferings . ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ, ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਨਰਕ (ਵੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਦੁੱਖ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਇਹ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਏਹੁ ਮਤਾਂਤੁ ਪਕਾਈਐ ॥
sun sakhee-ay ih bhalee binantee ayhu mataaNt pakaa-ee-ai.
Listen O my friend to my sincere prayer, let’s make this firm resolve,
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਭਲੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ (ਸੁਣ। ਆ) ਇਹ ਸਲਾਹ ਪੱਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ ,
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਉਪਾਧਿ ਰਹਤ ਹੋਇ ਗੀਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਹਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
sahj subhaa-ay upaaDh rahat ho-ay geet govindeh gaa-ee-ai.
that by shedding our clever ways, let us sing praises of God in a state of equipoise.
ਕਿ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਛਲ-ਫ਼ਰੇਬ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੀਏ।
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਸਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
kal kalays miteh bharam naaseh man chindi-aa fal paa-ee-ai.
This way all our struggles and agonies shall depart, doubts will vanish and we shall receive the desires of our hearts.
ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਹ-ਖਹ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਸੰਦੇਹ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਚਿੱਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾਂ ਪਾਵਾਂਗੇ।
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੨॥
paarbarahm pooran parmaysar naanak naam Dhi-aa-ee-ai. ||2||
O’ Nanak, let us meditate on the Name of the all pervading perfect God. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਓ ਆਪਾਂ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੀਏ।
ਸਖੀ ਇਛ ਕਰੀ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖ ਮਨਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਏ ॥
sakhee ichh karee nit sukh manaa-ee parabh mayree aas pujaa-ay.
O’ my friend, I always yearn to unite with Him and hope that God may fulfill my desire.
(ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਖਣਾ ਸੁੱਖਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰੇ।
ਚਰਨ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਦਰਸ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਪੇਖਉ ਥਾਨ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
charan pi-aasee daras bairaagan paykha-o thaan sabaa-ay.
I crave to realize Him and I yearn for His love, I am looking for Him everywhere.
ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਤਿਹਾਈ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਚਦੀ ਹਾਂ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਿਥ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
khoj laha-o har sant janaa sang sammrith purakh milaa-ay.
O’ friends, I seek out the saintly people who are able to unite me with the all pervading Almighty God.
(ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਖੋਜ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਹਾਂ (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਮੇਲ ਕਰਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਰਿਜਨੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਾਏ ॥੩॥
naanak tin mili-aa surijan sukh-daata say vadbhaagee maa-ay. ||3||
Nanak says, O’ mother, very fortunate are those who unite with God, the bestower of peace.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ)-ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਦੇਵ-ਲੋਕ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ
ਸਖੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਵਸਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਨਾਹ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਿਲਿਆ ॥
sakhee naal vasaa apunay naah pi-aaray mayraa man tan har sang hili-aa.
O’ my friend, now I dwell with my beloved husband-God and I am completely in harmony with Him.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਗਿੱਝ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਤਨ (ਹਿਰਦਾ) ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ-ਮਿੱਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੇਰੀ ਨੀਦ ਭਲੀ ਮੈ ਆਪਨੜਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥
sun sakhee-ay mayree need bhalee mai aapnarhaa pir mili-aa.
Listen, O’ my friend, I now love even the sleep because I meet my husband-God in my dream.
ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਏ! ਸੁਣ, (ਹੁਣ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨੀਂਦ ਭੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਓ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਭਇਆ ਕਉਲੁ ਖਿਲਿਆ ॥
bharam kho-i-o saaNt sahj su-aamee pargaas bha-i-aa ka-ul khili-aa.
God has enlightened my mind and my heart is delighted like a lotus in bloom, my doubt has been dispelled and I have found peace and poise.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੁਣ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਨ ਟਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥
var paa-i-aa parabh antarjaamee naanak sohaag na tali-aa. ||4||4||2||5||11||
O’ Nanak, I have met my Husband-God, the inner knower of hearts; now I am united with Him forever.||4||4||2||5||11||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਖਸਮ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਦਾ) ਇਹ ਸੁਹਾਗ ਕਦੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥
