ਮੋਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਊਚੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਲ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
mohan tayray oochay mandar mahal apaaraa.
O’ God, Your creation is Great and Your virtues are infinite.
ਹੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਮਹਲ ਐਸੈ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਦੁਆਰ ਜੀਉ ਸੰਤ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲਾ ॥
mohan tayray sohan du-aar jee-o sant Dharam saalaa.
O’ God, Your Saints look beautiful meditating on You in the houses of worship.
ਹੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ-ਅਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ (ਬੈਠੇ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਧਰਮ ਸਾਲ ਅਪਾਰ ਦੈਆਰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਵਹੇ ॥
Dharam saal apaar dai-aar thaakur sadaa keertan gaavhay.
O’ merciful and limitless God, in these houses of worship the saints always sing Your praises.
ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਤੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ-ਅਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਹ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤਹਾ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੇ ॥
jah saaDh sant ikatar hoveh tahaa tujheh Dhi-aavhay.
Wherever the Saints and Holy men assemble, there they meditate on you alone.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਥੇ ਭੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਥੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੋਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਰਾ ॥
kar da-i-aa ma-i-aa da-i-aal su-aamee hohu deen kirpaaraa.
O’ merciful Master, bestow grace and Compassion and be kind to the helpless.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮੋਹਨ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਮੋਹਨ! ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤਰਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਅਨਾਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਸੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
binvant naanak daras pi-aasay mil darsan sukh saaraa. ||1||
Nanak prays that Your saints long for Your sight and only by realizing You, they enjoy solace and peace. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਸੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੂਪ ਚਾਲ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ॥
mohan tayray bachan anoop chaal niraalee.
O God, divine words of Your praises are pleasing and Your ways are unique.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਲ (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਨਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਜੀ ਅਵਰ ਸਭ ਰਾਲੀ ॥
mohan tooN maaneh ayk jee avar sabh raalee.
O’ the enticer of hearts, You are the only one whom all beings believe as eternal; everything else is transitory.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਜੀ! (ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ) ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਾਸ-ਵੰਤ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਨਹਿ ਤ ਏਕੁ ਅਲੇਖੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀਆ ॥
maaneh ta ayk alaykh thaakur jineh sabh kal Dhaaree-aa.
Yes, all believe in You because You are the incomprehensible Master who has spread His power everywhere.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਰਤਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਚਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਕੀਆ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਨਵਾਰੀਆ ॥
tuDh bachan gur kai vas kee-aa aad purakh banvaaree-aa.
O’ Primal Being, the Master of the universe, through the Guru’s word You let Your devotees bind You in their love.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਿਆਰ- ਵੱਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀਆ ॥
tooN aap chali-aa aap rahi-aa aap sabh kal Dhaaree-aa.
O’ God, as You are pervading in all, You Yourself are departing from the world, You Yourself are staying in it and You support everything with Your power.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ! (ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਮਰ ਭੋਗ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ) ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਵਰਤਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੈਜ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਭ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀਆ ॥੨॥
binvant naanak paij raakho sabh sayvak saran tumaaree-aa. ||2||
Nanak prays: Please preserve our honor, all the devotees have sought Your shelter. ||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ-ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਦਰਸ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
mohan tuDh satsangat Dhi-aavai daras Dhi-aanaa.
O’ Enticer of hearts, the congregation of saints worships You with their mind attuned to You.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਧਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੋਹਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਪਹਿ ਨਿਦਾਨਾ ॥
mohan jam nayrh na aavai tuDh jaapeh nidaanaa.
O’ heart captivator, even at the last moment the fear of death does not scare those who lovingly meditate on You.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅੰਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ।
ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਗੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੋ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੇ ॥
jamkaal tin ka-o lagai naahee jo ik man Dhi-aavhay.
Yes, the fear of death does not afflict those who lovingly meditate on You single-mindedly.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਕਾਗਰ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਧਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਮਨਿ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਰਮਿ ਜਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਭੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹੇ ॥
man bachan karam je tuDh araaDheh say sabhay fal paavhay.
Those who worship You with their mind, word and deed, obtain all the rewards desired by their heart.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਬੋਲ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਕਰਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਤ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਲ ਮੂਤ ਮੂੜ ਜਿ ਮੁਗਧ ਹੋਤੇ ਸਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਸੁਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
mal moot moorh je mugaDh hotay se daykh daras sugi-aanaa.
O’ God, even those sinners who were very filthy, silly and stupid become divinely wise upon realizing You.
ਹੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਸੂਝ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਗੰਦੇ-ਕੁਕਰਮੀ ਤੇ ਮਹਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਜੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਭਗਵਾਨਾ ॥੩॥
binvant naanak raaj nihchal pooran purakh bhagvaanaa. ||3||
O’ the supreme God, Nanak supplicates that Your kingdom is immortal.||3||
ਹੇ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੀ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਫਲੁ ਫਲਿਆ ਸਣੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੇ ॥
mohan tooN sufal fali-aa san parvaaray.
O’ God, You are brimfull with virtues and the entire world is Your family.
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬੜਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਫਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਬੜੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਮੋਹਨ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਮੀਤ ਭਾਈ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਭਿ ਤਾਰੇ ॥
mohan putar meet bhaa-ee kutamb sabh taaray.
O’ God, You have ferried the entire families of Your devotees across the world ocean of vices
ਹੇ ਮੋਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ
ਤਾਰਿਆ ਜਹਾਨੁ ਲਹਿਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
taari-aa jahaan lahi-aa abhimaan jinee darsan paa-i-aa.
You have ferried those across the worldly ocean of vices, who have dispelled their ego through the Guru’s Word and have realized You.
ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ l
ਜਿਨੀ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਕਹਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥
jinee tuDhno Dhan kahi-aa tin jam nayrh na aa-i-aa.
The Messenger (fear) of Death does not even approach those who sing Your praises.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦੀ।
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਥੇ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥
bay-ant gun tayray kathay na jaahee satgur purakh muraaray.
O’ the True Primal Being and Destroyer of demons, infinite are Your virtues which cannot be described.
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ! ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ, ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਰਾਖੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗਿ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨॥
binvant naanak tayk raakhee jit lag tari-aa sansaaray. ||4||2||
Nanak submits, I have sought Your support due to which I have crossed over the world ocean of vices.||4||2||
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਆਸਰੇ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ

ਪਤਿਤ ਅਸੰਖ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਰਿ ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥
patit asaNkh puneet kar punah punah balihaar.
I dedicate myself forever to God who sanctifies innumerable sinners.
ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਪਾਵਕੋ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦਾਹਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥
naanak raam naam jap paavko tin kilbikh dahanhaar. ||1||
O Nanak, meditate on God’s Name which can burn the sins like a fire can burn the straw. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਗ ਘਾਹ ਦੇ ਤੀਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਇਹ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈl

ਜਪਿ ਮਨਾ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਮ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਧੋ ॥
jap manaa tooN raam naraa-in govindaa har maaDho.
O’ my mind, meditate on God, the creator and master of the Universe.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਹਰੀ ਮਾਧੋ (ਦੇ ਨਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਜਪ।
ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨਾ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ਕਟੀਐ ਕਾਲ ਦੁਖ ਫਾਧੋ ॥
Dhi-aa-ay manaa muraar mukanday katee-ai kaal dukh faaDho.
O my mind, by meditating on God, who is the emancipator and the destroyer of demons, the fear of death and sorrows are destroyed.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ। (ਇਸ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੌਤ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਖਹਰਣ ਦੀਨ ਸਰਣ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ॥
dukhharan deen saran sareeDhar charan kamal araaDhee-ai.
Yes, we should lovingly meditate on the immaculate Name of God, who is the destroyer of pain, the support of the meek and the master of wealth
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਲੱਖਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਿਖੜਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਧੀਐ ॥
jam panth bikh-rhaa agan saagar nimakh simrat saaDhee-ai.
By remembering God, even for an instant, the treacherous journey through the fiery world-ocean of vices can be made easy.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਔਖਾ ਰਸਤਾ, ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰ- ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਈਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਲਿਮਲਹ ਦਹਤਾ ਸੁਧੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਅਰਾਧੋ ॥
kalimalah dahtaa suDh kartaa dinas rain araaDho.
Always lovingly meditate on God’s Name, the destroyer of sins and the purifier of the mind.
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ!) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹੁ, ਜੋ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਮਾਧੋ ॥੧॥
binvant naanak karahu kirpaa gopaal gobind maaDho. ||1||
Nanak prays, O’ God the Master of the universe, please show mercy that I may keep meditating on Your Name. ||1||

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਮਨਾ ਦਾਮੋਦਰੁ ਦੁਖਹਰੁ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
simar manaa daamodar dukhhar bhai bhanjan har raa-i-aa.
O’ my mind, meditate on the Supreme God, who is the eradicator of sorrows and the destroyer of fear.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ, ਜੋ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਡਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ l
ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗੋ ਦਇਆਲ ਮਨੋਹਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਬਿਰਦਾਇਆ ॥
sareerango da-i-aal manohar bhagat vachhal birdaa-i-aa.
God is the master of wealth, He is merciful enticer of the mind and by very nature is a lover of His devotees.
ਜੋ ਲੱਖਮੀ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਹੈ।
