ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੀਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
jin gur mo ka-o deenaa jee-o.
That Guru who has blessed me with spiritual life,
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਆਪੁਨਾ ਦਾਸਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਲਿ ਲੀਉ ॥੬॥
aapunaa daasraa aapay mul lee-o. ||6||
and has taken me into his service and accepted me as his disciple. ||6||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿੱਕਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ)
ਆਪੇ ਲਾਇਓ ਅਪਨਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
aapay laa-i-o apnaa pi-aar.
He Himself has imbued me with His Love.
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਕਰੀ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੭॥
sadaa sadaa tis gur ka-o karee namaskaar. ||7||
Forever and ever, I humbly bow to that Guru.||7||
ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ l
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਭੈ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥਾ ॥
kal kalays bhai bharam dukh laathaa.
My conflicts, fears, doubts and sorrows have been dispelled;
(ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਝਗੜੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਸਹਮ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਮਰਾਥਾ ॥੮॥੯॥
kaho naanak mayraa gur samraathaa. ||8||9||
says Nanak, my Guru is All-powerful.||8||9||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਮਿਲੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ॥
mil mayray gobind apnaa naam dayh.
O’ my God, please make me aware of your presence and bless me with Your love.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ, ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ।
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਅਸਨੇਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam binaa Dharig Dharig asnayhu. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Without Naam, accursed is any other worldly love. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੋਹ- ਪਿਆਰ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ ॥
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਰੈ ਖਾਇ ॥
naam binaa jo pahirai khaa-ay.
Without remembering God’s Name, whatever one wears and eats,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਉ ਕੂਕਰੁ ਜੂਠਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
ji-o kookar joothan meh paa-ay. ||1||
is like a dog, eating leftover food.
ਉਹ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਕੁੱਤਾ ਜੂਠੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੇਤਾ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
naam binaa jaytaa bi-uhaar.
Without meditating on Naam, whatever worldly deeds one does is,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਭੀ ਕਾਰ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਉ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
ji-o mirtak mithi-aa seegaar. ||2||
futile like decorating a dead body.
(ਉਹ ਇਉਂ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਲੋਥ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਉੱਦਮ ਹੈ
ਨਾਮੁ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥
naam bisaar karay ras bhog.
The one who forgets Naam and indulges in worldly pleasures,
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੀ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੁਖੁ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਰੋਗ ॥੩॥
sukh supnai nahee tan meh rog. ||3||
does not find peace even in dreams and his body becomes diseased.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਰੋਗੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਰੇ ਅਨ ਕਾਜ ॥
naam ti-aag karay an kaaj.
The one who renounces Naam and engages in other worldly affairs,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਝੂਠੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਜ ॥੪॥
binas jaa-ay jhoothay sabh paaj. ||4||
is spiritually ruined and ultimately all his false pretenses fall away.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
naam sang man pareet na laavai.
One whose mind does not embrace love for God’s Name,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋੜਦਾ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤੋ ਨਰਕਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੫॥
kot karam karto narak jaavai. ||5||
goes to hell (suffers immensely), even after performing millions of rituals.
ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੀ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਆਰਾਧਾ ॥
har kaa naam jin man na aaraaDhaa.
The one who has not remembered God with loving devotion,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ,
ਚੋਰ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਬਾਧਾ ॥੬॥
chor kee ni-aa-ee jam pur baaDhaa. ||6||
Like a thief, he is bound in the fear of death and keeps suffering great pains.
ਚੋਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਨੰਦ ਉਹ ਜਮ ਦੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝਾ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ) ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਟਾਂ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਲਾਖ ਅਡੰਬਰ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ॥ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਝੂਠੇ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥੭॥
laakh adambar bahut bisthaaraa.naam binaa jhoothay paasaaraa. ||7||
Without God’s Name, millions of ostentatious and elaborate displays are false.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਲੇਇ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ॥੮॥੧੦॥
har kaa naam so-ee jan lay-ay. kar kirpaa nanak jis day-ay. ||8||10||
O’ Nanak, only that person meditates on God’s Name, on whom God has shown mercy and has bestowed the gift of Naam.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਜੋ ਅੰਤਿ ਨਿਬਾਹੈ ॥ ਸੋ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਚਾਹੈ ॥੧॥
aad maDh jo ant nibaahai. so saajan mayraa man chaahai. ||1||
My mind craves for that friend, God, who always stands by us from the beginning to the end of life.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਸੱਜਣ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਮਿਲਣਾ) ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਾਲੈ ॥
har kee pareet sadaa sang chaalai.
The love of God always accompanies the mortal.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
da-i-aal purakh pooran paratipaalai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
That merciful and omnipresent perfect God always sustains all. (1-pause)
ਉਹ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਦਾ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਬਿਨਸਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
binsat naahee chhod na jaa-ay.
God never perishes, and He never abandons the beings.
ਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਦੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਪੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
jah paykhaa tah rahi-aa samaa-ay. ||2||
Wherever I look, there I see Him pervading.
ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਓਧਰ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ l
ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
sundar sugharh chatur jee-a daataa.
God is handsome, proficient, smart, and the Giver of life.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਚੱਜਾ ਹੈ, ਸਿਆਣਾ, ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ l
ਭਾਈ ਪੂਤੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
bhaa-ee poot pitaa parabh maataa. ||3||
God is our true brother, son, father and mother.
ਉਹੀ ਸਾਡਾ ਅਸਲ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਂ ਹੈ l
ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
jeevan paraan aDhaar mayree raas.
He is the support of my life breath, and He is my spiritual Wealth.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਿਵਾਸਿ ॥੪॥
pareet laa-ee kar ridai nivaas. ||4||
Enshrining Him in my heart, I have imbued myself with His love.(4)
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜੋੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਸਿਲਕ ਕਾਟੀ ਗੋਪਾਲਿ ॥
maa-i-aa silak kaatee gopaal.
The Master of the World has snapped my noose of love for worldly attachment.
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਲੀਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥੫॥
kar apunaa leeno nadar nihaal. ||5||
Bestowing His glance of grace, He has made me His own. (5)
ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ l
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਰੋਗ ॥
simar simar kaatay sabh rog.
Remembering Him with loving devotion, all the miseries are dispelled.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਹਿਮਤਾ ਟਲ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਚਰਣ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਭੋਗ ॥੬॥
charan Dhi-aan sarab sukh bhog. ||6||
All worldly comforts and pleasures are enjoyed by meditating on God with love and devotion. (6)
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਨੀ ਹੀ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਹਨ
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਵਤਨੁ ਨਿਤ ਬਾਲਾ ॥
pooran purakh navtan nit baalaa.
All pervading perfect God is Ever-fresh and Ever-young.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਜਵਾਨ ਹੈ l
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥੭॥
har antar baahar sang rakhvaalaa. ||7||
That God is the protector of all beings, both inside and out. (7)
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਚੀਨ ॥ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਗਤ ਕਉ ਦੀਨ ॥੮॥੧੧॥
kaho naanak har har pad cheen. sarbas naam bhagat ka-o deen. ||8||11||
Nanak says, the devotee whom God blesses the wealth of Naam, understands the state of uniting with God. ||8||11||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਭਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਵਜੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ

Raag Gauree Maajh, Fifth Guru:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਖੋਜਤ ਫਿਰੇ ਅਸੰਖ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੀਆ ॥
khojat firay asaNkh ant na paaree-aa.
Countless people have been in search of God, but they could not perceive the limits of His virtues.
ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਜੀਵ ਢੂੰਢਦੇ ਫਿਰੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ।
ਸੇਈ ਹੋਏ ਭਗਤ ਜਿਨਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
say-ee ho-ay bhagat jinaa kirpaaree-aa. ||1||
Only those can become God’s devotees, upon whom He bestows His grace. (1)
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਬਣ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਵਾਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਪੰਥੁ ਡਰਾਉ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਭੈਹਾਰੀਆ ॥
sun sun panth daraa-o bahut bhaihaaree-aa.
I was quite scared upon hearing again and again that the way to realize God is very dreadful,
ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਿ ਜਗਤ-ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਡਰਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਹਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਾਂ l
ਮੈ ਤਕੀ ਓਟ ਸੰਤਾਹ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਬਾਰੀਆ ॥੨॥
mai takee ot santaah layho ubaaree-aa. ||2||
Finally, I sought the support of God’s devotees and pleaded with them to save me.
ਆਖ਼ਰ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਤਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੋ
