ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਪੜਦਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਾਈ ॥
antar alakh na jaa-ee lakhi-aa vich parh-daa ha-umai paa-ee.
The incomprehensible God is within all, but cannot be realized because of the intervening curtain of ego.
ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੋ ਜਗੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਇਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
maa-i-aa mohi sabho jag so-i-aa ih bharam kahhu ki-o jaa-ee. ||1||
The entire world is engrossed in the emotional attachment to Maya. Tell me, how can this illusion be dispelled?||1||
ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਦੱਸ, (ਜੀਵ ਦੀ) ਇਹ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ? ॥੧॥
ਏਕਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਇਕਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬਸਤੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
aykaa sangat ikat garihi bastay mil baat na kartay bhaa-ee.
O’ brother, both the human soul and God Himself live together in the same heart but they do not communicate with each other (because of the ego).
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੈ, ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਆਪੋ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।
ਏਕ ਬਸਤੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੁਹੇਲੇ ਓਹ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਠਾਈ ॥੨॥
ayk basat bin panch duhaylay oh basat agochar thaa-ee. ||2||
The five sensory organs feel miserable without the wealth of Naam; that wealth is in a place beyond their reach. ||2||
ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ) ਪੰਜੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ (ਨਾਮ) ਪਦਾਰਥ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਜਿਥੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਤਾਲਾ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਗੁਰ ਸਉਪਾਈ ॥
jis kaa garihu tin dee-aa taalaa kunjee gur sa-upaa-ee.
God, who resides in this body has locked it up and has entrusted its key to the Guru.
ਜਿਸ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਘਰ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੀ (ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਜੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਿਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੩॥
anik upaav karay nahee paavai bin satgur sarnaa-ee. ||3||
One makes endless efforts to realize Naam but without following the teachings of the true Guru, cannot achieve it.||3||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀਵ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀਲੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਹੀਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ) ਲੱਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
jin kay banDhan kaatay satgur tin saaDhsangat liv laa-ee.
O’ the true Guru, they attune themselves to God in the holy congregation whose bonds with Maya are broken by you.
ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੂੰ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਣਾਈ।
ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੪॥
panch janaa mil mangal gaa-i-aa har naanak bhayd na bhaa-ee. ||4||
O’ Nanak, the chosen beings, meet together and sing the joyous songs of God’s praises. O’ brother, there is left no difference between them and God. ||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!ਚੋਣਵੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਇਕੰਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਫਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ, ਹੈ ਭਰਾ।
ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
mayray raam raa-ay in biDh milai gusaa-ee.
This is how my sovereign God, the Master of the Universe is met;
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ, ਆਲਮ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਸ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਹਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਠਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੧੨੨॥
sahj bha-i-aa bharam khin meh naathaa mil jotee jot samaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o doojaa. ||1||122||
When celestial bliss is attained, doubt goes away in an instant and the soul merges with the Supreme Soul. ||1||Second Pause||1||122||
ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਵਹਿਮ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੌੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਨੂਰ ਪਰਮ-ਨੂਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ॥੧॥੧੨੨॥

Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਐਸੋ ਪਰਚਉ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
aiso parcha-o paa-i-o.
I have developed such an intimacy with God,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣ ਗਈ,
ਕਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਬੀਠੁਲੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੁਝਹਿ ਬਤਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karee kirpaa da-i-aal beethulay satgur mujheh bataa-i-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that by granting His grace, the kind and immaculate God has united me with the true Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿ ਉਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਿਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਸੁਆਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਆਇਓ ॥
jat kat daykh-a-u tat tat tum hee mohi ih bisu-aas ho-ay aa-i-o.
O’ God, now I am totally convinced that wherever I look, I behold You alone.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੁਣ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਕੈ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਉ ਸੁਨਤੋ ਹੈ ਰਘੁਰਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
kai peh kara-o ardaas bayntee ja-o sunto hai raghuraa-i-o. ||1||
Why should I pray and submit my request before anyone else, when the sovereign God Himself is listening to me? ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ) ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਾਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਾਂ? ॥੧॥
ਲਹਿਓ ਸਹਸਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਤੋਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ॥
lahi-o sahsaa banDhan gur toray taaN sadaa sahj sukh paa-i-o.
The Guru has cut away my worldly bonds, my anxiety is over and I have found eternal peace.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਕਟ ਛਡੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰਾ ਫਿਕਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਪਰਮਆਨੰਦ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਹੋਣਾ ਸਾ ਸੋਈ ਫੁਨਿ ਹੋਸੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਹਾ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
honaa saa so-ee fun hosee sukh dukh kahaa dikhaa-i-o. ||2||
Whatever has to happen shall happen; any event causing pain or pleasure does not happen without God’s will ?||2||
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵਾਪਰਨਾ ਸੀ ਉਹੀ ਵਰਤੇਗਾ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੋਈ ਸੁਖ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਵਿਖਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਠਾਣਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਰਦਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ॥
khand barahmand kaa ayko thaanaa gur pardaa khol dikhaa-i-o.
By removing the veil of illusion, the Guru has shown me that it is the God alone who is the support of all the continents and the solar systems.
ਸਾਰੇ ਖੰਡਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਪੜਦਾ ਪਰੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਇਕ ਠਾਈ ਤਉ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੈਠੈ ਜਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
na-o niDh naam niDhaan ik thaa-ee ta-o baahar kaithai jaa-i-o. ||3||
Naam, the treasure of the world dwells in the heart; one need not wander outside in its search? ||3||
ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਇਕ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ (ਮਨ) ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਤਦ, ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਬਾਹਰਲੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਵੇ?॥੩॥
ਏਕੈ ਕਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਾਜੀ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਰਚਾਇਓ ॥
aykai kanik anik bhaat saajee baho parkaar rachaa-i-o.
Just as gold is fashioned into various designs, God has manifested Himself into various creations.
ਓਹੀ ਸੋਨਾ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ੍ਰੂ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੰਨਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਈ ਹੈ ਇਵ ਤਤੈ ਤਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਓ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੨੩॥
kaho naanak bharam gur kho-ee hai iv tatai tat milaa-i-o. ||4||2||123||
Nanak says, “The Guru has dispelled my doubt and has united my soul with the prime Soul”. ||4||2||123||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ। ਸੋਨੇ ਦੇ ਜੇਵਰ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁਖੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ, ਆਖਰਕਾਰ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ॥੪॥੨॥੧੨੩॥
ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ga-orhee mehlaa 5.
Raag Gauree, Fifth Guru:
ਅਉਧ ਘਟੈ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਾਰੇ ॥
a-oDh ghatai dinas rainaaray.
With the passage of time, the remaining span of life keeps decreasing.
ਤੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਰਾਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਘਟਦੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man gur mil kaaj savaaray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind, meet the Guru and resolve the purpose for which you are here. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮਨ! (ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ) ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਸੰਤ ਟਹਲ ਕੀ ਬੇਲਾ ॥
kara-o baynantee sunhu mayray meetaa sant tahal kee baylaa.
O’ my friend, listen! I beg of you to serve the saints now (meditate on God).
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਸੁਣ, ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਮਾ ਹੈ।
ਈਹਾ ਖਾਟਿ ਚਲਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਆਗੈ ਬਸਨੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥੧॥
eehaa khaat chalhu har laahaa aagai basan suhaylaa. ||1||
Earn the wealth of God’s Name before departing from this world so that hereafter, you shall dwell in peace. ||1||
ਇਥੋਂ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਤੁਰੋ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੌਖਾ ਵਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੁ ਸਹਸੇ ਮਹਿ ਤਰਿਓ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
ih sansaar bikaar sahsay meh tari-o barahm gi-aanee.
This world is engrossed in vicious illusions. Only the divinely wise who have realized God, swim across the dreadly world ocean.
ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ,। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਜਗਾਇ ਪੀਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
jisahi jagaa-ay pee-aa-ay har ras akath kathaa tin jaanee. ||2||
The one whom God awakens (from the slumber of worldly attachments) to drink the essence of His Name knows the ineffable virtues of God.||2||
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਛਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨਾਂ ਬਿਆਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਆਏ ਸੋਈ ਵਿਹਾਝਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
jaa ka-o aa-ay so-ee vihaajhahu har gur tay maneh basayraa.
Procure only the wealth of Naam for which you came into this world. It is only by the Guru’s grace that God shall dwell in your heart.
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਮ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਹੋ, ਉਹ ਸੌਦਾ ਖ਼ਰੀਦੋ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਵਾਸ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਇਗੋ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੩॥

ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਲੱਭੋ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ॥੩॥
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
antarjaamee purakh biDhaatay sarDhaa man kee pooray.
O’ the inner knower of hearts and the all pervading Creator, please fulfill this yearning of my heart.
ਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ,
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੨੪॥
naanak daas ihee sukh maagai mo ka-o kar santan kee Dhooray. ||4||3||124||
Nanak, Your humble devotee begs for this happiness; Make me the most humble servant of the saints. ||4||3||124||
ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ-ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣਾ ਦੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੨੪॥

ਰਾਖੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ॥

O’ My Father God, please save me (from my evil impulses).
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ! ਮੇਰੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰ
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨੁ ਸਭ ਗੁਨ ਤੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mohi nirgun sabh gun tayray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I am worthless and without virtue; all virtues are your blessing. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਂ ਗੁਣ-ਹੀਨ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ (ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪੰਚ ਬਿਖਾਦੀ ਏਕੁ ਗਰੀਬਾ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
panch bikhaadee ayk gareebaa raakho raakhanhaaray.
O’ the savior God, save me; I am just one and the vicious thieves are five in number.
ਹੇ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਗਰੀਬ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਕਾਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਪੰਜ ਹਨ।
ਖੇਦੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਰੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸੰਤਾਵਹਿ ਆਇਓ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
khayd karahi ar bahut santaaveh aa-i-o saran tuhaaray. ||1||
I have come to Your refuge because these villains make much trouble and torture me immensely. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਪੰਜੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਤਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
