ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੀਠ ਰਸ ਗਾਨੇ ॥੨॥
har kaa naam amrit ras chaakhi-aa mil satgur meeth ras gaanay. ||2||
Meeting the True Guru I have tasted the Ambrosial Nectar of God’s Name. It is sweet, like the juice of the sugarcane.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਰਸ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗੰਨੇ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਦਿਵਾਨੇ ॥
jin ka-o gur satgur nahee bhayti-aa tay saakat moorh divaanay.
Those who have not met the True Guru are foolish and insane, they are faithless cynics.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਝੱਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕਰਮਹੀਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਚਾਨੇ ॥੩॥
tin kay karamheen Dhur paa-ay daykh deepak mohi pachaanay. ||3||
They are preordained to be devoid of righteous deeds. They burn in the fire of emotional attachment of Maya like a moth burns in a flame.||3||
ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਨੇਕ ਅਮਲਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋਣੇ ਨੀਅਤ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ! ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਤੰਗੇ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਙੂ ਸੜ-ਬਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਲਗਾਨੇ ॥
jin ka-o tum da-i-aa kar maylhu tay har har sayv lagaanay.
O’ God, showing mercy on whom You unite with the Guru, they lovingly remain engaged in Your devotional worship.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ, ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨੇ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੮॥੫੬॥
jan nanak har har har jap pargatay mat gurmat naam samaanay. |4|4|18|56||
O’ Nanak, By following the Guru’s teachings, they remain attuned to Naam and they become renowned by always meditating on God’s Name. |4|4|18|56|
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਚਮਕ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ

Raag Gauree Poorbee, Fourth Guru:
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਹੁ ਨਸੀਐ ॥
mayray man so parabh sadaa naal hai su-aamee kaho kithai har pahu nasee-ai.
O my mind, God is always with you, tell me, how can you escape His presence?
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੱਸ ਉਹ ਕੇਹੜਾ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨੱਸ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਏ ਛੁਟੀਐ ॥੧॥
har aapay bakhas la-ay parabh saachaa har aap chhadaa-ay chhutee-ai. ||1||
The eternal God Himself grants forgiveness; we are liberated from the grip of vices only when He Himself emancipates us. ||1||
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਉਗਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਛਡਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਜਪੀਐ ॥
mayray man jap har har har man japee-ai.
O my mind, always lovingly meditate on God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪ। ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੀਛੈ ਛੁਟੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satgur kee sarnaa-ee bhaj pa-o mayray manaa gur satgur peechhai chhutee-ai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind seek the refuge of the true Guru. Release from the bonds of Maya is obtained by following the true Guru’s teachings.||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਜਾ ਪਉ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੀਐ ॥
mayray man sayvhu so parabh sarab sukh-daata jit sayvi-ai nij ghar vasee-ai.
O’ my mind, lovingly meditate on God, the bestower of peace. Remembering Him with love and devotion we can feel His presence in the heart.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਇ ਲਹਹੁ ਘਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਘਸਿ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਘਸੀਐ ॥੨॥
gurmukh jaa-ay lahhu ghar apnaa ghas chandan har jas ghasee-ai. |2|
Through the Guru, go and reclaim your own heart (God’s abode). Just as the sandalwood becomes fragrant by repeatedly rubbing on the stone, similarly our spiritual life becomes blissfull by singing God’s praises again and again. |2|
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਲ ਘਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲੱਭ ਲੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੰਦਨ ਸਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਘਸ ਕੇ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਘਸਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ l(ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ) l
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਹਸੀਐ ॥
mayray man har har har har har jas ootam lai laahaa har man hasee-ai.
O’ my mind, God’s Praise is the most sublime wealth. By earning the profit of God’s Name one can enjoy the bliss.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ, ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਵੈ ਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਖੀਐ ॥੩॥
har har aap da-i-aa kar dayvai taa amrit har ras chakhee-ai. ||3||
When God in His Mercy, bestows the gift of His Name, then we relish the ambrosial essence of Naam. ||3||
ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੱਖ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੋ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਾਗੇ ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਨਰ ਜਮਿ ਘੁਟੀਐ ॥
mayray man naam binaa jo doojai laagay tay saakat nar jam ghutee-ai.
O’ my mind, without Naam and attached to duality, the faithless cynics suffer such great pain, as if they are strangulated by the demon of death.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਸੁ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਗਲ ਘੁਟ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਚੋਰ ਜਿਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਮਨ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਭਿਟੀਐ ॥੪॥
tay saakat chor jinaa naam visaari-aa man tin kai nikat na bhitee-ai. ||4||
Such faithless cynics, who have forgotten the Naam, are like thieves. O my mind, do not even go near them.
ਐਸੇ ਮਾਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਸਕਰ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਨ ਲਗ।
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਅਲਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਨਰਹਰਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਲੇਖਾ ਛੁਟੀਐ ॥
mayray man sayvhu alakh niranjan narhar jit sayvi-ai laykhaa chhutee-ai.
O’ my mind, lovingly meditate on the incomprehensible and immaculate God, by remembering Him, all the accounts of our past deeds are cleared.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਅਗਾਧ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ (ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀਏ ਖਿਨੁ ਮਾਸਾ ਤੋਲੁ ਨ ਘਟੀਐ ॥੫॥੫॥੧੯॥੫੭॥
jan nanak har prabh pooray kee-ay khin maasaa tol na ghatee-ai. |5||5||19||57||
O’ Nanak, those whom God has blessed with righteous life, don’t lack in virtues even a bit. |5 |5|19|57|
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਧ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਭੋਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਭੀ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ

ਹਮਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
hamray paraan vasgat parabh tumrai mayraa jee-o pind sabh tayree.
O’ God, my breath of life is in Your Power, my soul and body are totally Yours.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਦਿਖਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਲੋਚ ਘਣੇਰੀ ॥੧॥
da-i-aa karahu har daras dikhaavhu mayrai man tan loch ghanayree. ||1||
In my body and mind is an intense craving for You. Please have mercy, and make me feel Your presence. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਹ, ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਬੜੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ.
ਰਾਮ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਲੋਚ ਮਿਲਣ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ ॥
raam mayrai man tan loch milan har kayree.
O’ God, there is such a great longing within my mind and body to unite with You.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ (ਬੜੀ) ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਿੰਚਤ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gurkirpal kirpaa kichant gur keenee har mili-aa aa-ay parabh mayree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
When the Merciful Guru showed just a little mercy, I felt God’s presence within me.
ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਥੋੜੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ
ਜੋ ਹਮਰੈ ਮਨ ਚਿਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
jo hamrai man chit hai su-aamee saa biDh tum har jaanhu mayree.
O’ God, Whatever is in my conscious mind, that state of mine is known to You,
ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ਨਿਤ ਜੀਵਾ ਆਸ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ॥੨॥
an-din naam japee sukh paa-ee nit jeevaa aas har tayree. ||2||
O’ God, I live by placing my hopes in You, my desire is that I may always lovingly meditate on Your Name and live in peace.
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਤੇਰੀ (ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ) ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ l
ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਾਤੈ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
gur satgur daatai panth bataa-i-aa har mili-aa aa-ay parabh mayree.
The true Guru, bestower of the gift of the Naam, showed me the way to realize God, I was united with God.
ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਦੱਸਿਆ, ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਭ ਆਸ ਪੁਜੀ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੀ ॥੩॥
an-din anad bha-i-aa vadbhaagee sabh aas pujee jan kayree. ||3||
By great good fortune I am always in bliss; and all my hopes have been fulfilled.
ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ
ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਕਰਤੇ ਸਭ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ ॥

O’ God, the Creator of the world, all this is under Your control.
ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ! ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ (ਜਗਤ-ਖੇਡ) ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੨੦॥੫੮॥
jan naanak sarnaagat aa-ay har raakho paij jan kayree. ||4||6||20||58||
O’ Nanak, I (Your devotee) have sought Your refuge, please, save my honor.

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਖਿਨੁ ਨ ਟਿਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ਦਹ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਚਲਿ ਚਲਿ ਹਾਢੇ ॥
ih manoo-aa khin na tikai baho rangee dah dah dis chal chal haadhay.
This mind indulged in all sorts of worldly attractions does not remain still even for an instant and wanders around aimlessly in all direction.
(ਮੇਰਾ) ਇਹ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਮਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੰਗ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਦੌੜ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
