ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪਿਆਸ ਦਰਸਨ ਘਣੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮਾਇ ॥
man tan pi-aas darsan ghanee ko-ee aan milaavai maa-ay.
O, My mother, there is a great longing for His vision in my mind and body, I wish that somebody may come and unite me with Him.
ਹੇ ਮਾਤਾ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਬੜੀ ਪਿਆਸ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਚਿੱਤ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਕਰਾ ਦੇਵੇ।
ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਇ ॥
sant sahaa-ee paraym kay ha-o tin kai laagaa paa-ay.
The Saints are the helpers of God’s lovers; therefore I humbly serve them.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਧਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਹੈਤਾ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਵਿਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
vin parabh ki-o sukh paa-ee-ai doojee naahee jaa-ay.
Without God, how can we find peace? There is nowhere else to go.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੁਖ-ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਇ ॥
jinHee chaakhi-aa paraym ras say taripat rahay aaghaa-ay.
Those who have tasted the sublime essence of His Love, remain satisfied and fully satiated from Maya.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਚੱਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਹ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਆਪੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਕਰਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
aap ti-aag bintee karahi layho parabhoo larh laa-ay.
Renouncing their self conceit, they pray, O’ God, please unite us with You.
ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਅਰਦਾਸਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈਆ ਸਿ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
jo har kant milaa-ee-aa se vichhurh kateh na jaa-ay.
Those whom the God has united with Himself, shall not be separated from Him again.
ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਜੂਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਿਣੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥
parabh vin doojaa ko nahee naanak har sarnaa-ay.
O’ Nanak, except God, there is none other, who can provide them eternal peace. They always remain in His shelter.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਅਸੂ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸੰਦੀਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੮॥
asoo sukhee vasandee-aa jinaa ma-i-aa har raa-ay. ||8||
In the month of Assu, those who have the grace of God, live in peace.
ਅੱਸੂ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਕਤਿਕਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
katik karam kamaavnay dos na kaahoo jog.
Even in the beautiful month of Katak, if you are separated from the Husband- God, then do not blame anyone else because it is the result of your own deeds.
ਕੱਤਕ (ਦੀ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ ਰੁੱਤ) ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ) ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਟਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਤੇ ਭੁਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਆਪਨਿ ਸਭੇ ਰੋਗ ॥
parmaysar tay bhuli-aaN vi-aapan sabhay rog.
Forgetting the God, all sorts of pains and sorrows are afflicted.
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝਿਆਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਵੇਮੁਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਲਗਨਿ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਜੋਗ ॥
vaimukh ho-ay raam tay lagan janam vijog.
Those who turn their back on God (do not remember God) are separated from Him for several births.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਫਿਰ) ਲੰਮੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਉੜੇ ਹੋਇ ਗਏ ਜਿਤੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਭੋਗ ॥
khin meh ka-urhay ho-ay ga-ay jit-rhay maa-i-aa bhog.
In an instant, all of Maya’s sensual pleasures turn bitter.
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੌਜਾਂ ਇਕ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਵਿਚੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਿ ਸਕੈ ਕਿਸ ਥੈ ਰੋਵਹਿ ਰੋਜ ॥
vich na ko-ee kar sakai kis thai roveh roj.
No one can then serve as intermediary. Unto whom can we turn and cry?
ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸ ਭੀ ਨਿਤ ਰੋਣੇ ਰੋਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ-ਪਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥
keetaa kichhoo na hova-ee likhi-aa Dhur sanjog.
By one’s own actions, nothing can be done; destiny was predetermined from the very beginning.
ਦੁਖੀ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ, ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਲਿਖੇ ਲੇਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਿਧ ਆ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਓਗ ॥
vadbhaagee mayraa parabh milai taaN utreh sabh bi-og.
If by good fortune, I realize God within me, then all pain of separation departs.
ਜੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਆ ਮਿਲੇ, ਤਾਂ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬੰਦੀ ਮੋਚ ॥
naanak ka-o parabh raakh layhi mayray saahib bandee moch.
O’ my God, the emancipator of all, please save Nanak from the worldly bonds.
(ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ-) ਹੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਵਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।
ਕਤਿਕ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਸਭੇ ਸੋਚ ॥੯॥
katik hovai saaDhsang binsahi sabhay soch. ||9||
In Katak, if one obtains the company of the Saints, then all one’s worries vanish.
ਕੱਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਫਿਕਰ ਅੰਦੇਸੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਸੋਹੰਦੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਠੜੀਆਹ ॥
manghir maahi sohandee-aa har pir sang baith-rhee-aah.
In the month of Maghar (Nov-Dec) the soul-brides look beautiful in the company of their Husband-God.
ਮੱਘਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਕਿਆ ਗਣੀ ਜਿ ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਮੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥
tin kee sobhaa ki-aa ganee je saahib maylrhee-aah.
Those, whom God has united with Himself, their glory cannot be described.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਹੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥
tan man ma-oli-aa raam si-o sang saaDh sahaylrhee-aah.
By remembering God in the in the holy congregation, the body and mind of such soul-brides always remains in bloom.
ਸਤ-ਸੰਗੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸੇ ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕੇਲੜੀਆਹ ॥
saaDh janaa tay baahree say rahan ikaylarhee-aah.
Those who lack the Company of the Holy, remain all alone.
ਪਰ ਜੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ
ਤਿਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੇ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥
tin dukh na kabhoo utrai say jam kai vas parhee-aah.
heir misery never departs, and they always live in the fear of death.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜਿਆ) ਦੁੱਖ ਕਦੇ ਲਹਿੰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਈਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੇ ਦਿਸਨਿ ਨਿਤ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥
jinee raavi-aa parabh aapnaa say disan nit kharhee-aah.
Those soul-brides who have enjoyed the blissful company of their Husband-God are always seen carefully aware of the vices.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਦਿੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ l
ਰਤਨ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਤਿਨਾ ਜੜੀਆਹ ॥
ratan javayhar laal har kanth tinaa jarhee-aah.
They have been adorned with God’s Name which is precious like jewels, rubies and diamonds.
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਲਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਹਿਰਾਤ, ਮਾਣਕਾ ਤੇ ਹੀਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ l
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਧੂੜਿ ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣੀ ਦਰਿ ਪੜੀਆਹ ॥
naanak baaNchhai Dhoorh tin parabh sarnee dar parhee-aah.
Nanak seeks the dust of the feet (to humbly serve) of those who have sought the sanctuary of God.
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਤਸੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮੰਘਿਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੜੀਆਹ ॥੧੦॥
manghir parabh aaraaDhanaa bahurh na janamrhee-aah. ||10||
They who remember God with loving devotion in the month of Maghar (Nov-Dec) do not suffer the pain of birth and death again.
ਮੱਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ l
ਪੋਖਿ ਤੁਖਾਰੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਕੰਠਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੁ ॥
pokh tukhaar na vi-aapa-ee kanth mili-aa har naahu.
The freezing cold of the month of Poh (Dec-Jan) does not afflict that soul-bride in whose heart dwells her Husband-God.
ਪੋਹ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਕਰ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਚਰਨਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਲਗੜਾ ਸਾਹੁ ॥
man bayDhi-aa charnaarbind darsan lagrhaa saahu.
Her mind is absorbed in God’s remembrance and she is attuned to His vision.
ਉਸਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਓਟ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਰਾਇ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਲਾਹੁ ॥
ot govind gopaal raa-ay sayvaa su-aamee laahu.
She now lives only for the support of God, the king of the universe, and reaps the reward of devotional worship of her Husband-God.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਖੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ l
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਪੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹੁ ॥
bikhi-aa pohi na sak-ee mil saaDhoo gun gaahu.
Now even the poison of Maya cannot touch her, because after meeting with the Guru, she keeps singing God’s praises.
ਮਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਚੁੱਭੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੀ ਤਹ ਮਿਲੀ ਸਚੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਮਾਹੁ ॥
jah tay upjee tah milee sachee pareet samaahu.
By being absorbed in true love for God, she is united with the One by whom she was created.
ਸੱਚੇ ਸਨੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੋਂ ਇਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੀਆਹੁ ॥
kar geh leenee paarbarahm bahurh na vichhurhi-aahu.
Grasping her with His hand, the all-pervading God has united her with Him, and she won’t be separated from Him again.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ, ਵਿੱਛੁੜਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਬਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਲਖ ਬੇਰੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਹੁ ॥

ਲੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਰੀ ਮੈਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਦੋਸਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਰਮ ਪਈ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਿ ਪਈਆਹੁ ॥
saram pa-ee naaraa-inai naanak dar pa-ee-aahu.
O’ Nanak, the merciful God has to preserve the honor of those who come to Him for shelter.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਦਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖਣੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪੋਖੁ ਸੋੁਹੰਦਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ॥੧੧॥
pokh sohandaa sarab sukh jis bakhsay vayparvaahu. ||11||
Poh is beautiful, and all comforts come to that one, upon whom the unworried God becomes gracious.
ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੇ-ਪਰਵਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੋਹ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਮਾਘਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂਆ ਧੂੜੀ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
maagh majan sang saaDhoo-aa Dhoorhee kar isnaan.
O’ my friend, in the month of Magh (jan-feb), instead of bathing at holy places, bath in the dust of the feet of Saints (humbly serve the Saints).
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਘ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ।
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
har kaa naam Dhi-aa-ay sun sabhnaa no kar daan.
Listen and meditate on God’s Name, and instead of giving worldly gifts in charity, share Naam with all.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ, ਹੋਰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਵੰਡ,
ਜਨਮ ਕਰਮ ਮਲੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਇ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥
janam karam mal utrai man tay jaa-ay gumaan.
In this way the filth of mind, from the evil and sinful deeds of your past births shall be removed, and egotistical pride shall vanish from your mind.
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ (ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇਗੀ, ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ।
