ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
aath pahar paarbarahm Dhi-aa-ee sadaa sadaa gun gaa-i-aa.
Now I lovingly remember God and keep singing His praises at all times.
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥
kaho naanak mayray pooray manorath paarbarahm gur paa-i-aa. ||4||4||
O’ Nanak, say, I have met my Supreme Divine-Guru and all the wishes of my mind have been fulfilled. ||4||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖ- ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਸ਼ਰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਨੋ-ਕਾਮਨਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੪॥

Raag Prabhati, Fifth Guru:
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ॥
simrat naam kilbikh sabh naasay.
All the sinful thoughts vanish by remembering God with adoration.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਰਾਸੇ ॥
sach naam gur deenee raasay.
Those whom the Guru has given the wealth of God’s Name,
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੇ ॥
parabh kee dargeh sobhaavantay.
they attained honor in God’s presence.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣੇ।
ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹੰਤੇ ॥੧॥
sayvak sayv sadaa sohantay. ||1||
Devotees always look beauteous by performing God’s devotional worship. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
har har naam japahu mayray bhaa-ee.
O’ my brothers, always remember God’s Name with adoration.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saglay rog dokh sabh binsahi agi-aan anDhayraa man tay jaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
(By doing so), all the afflictions and sinful thoughts vanish along with the mind’s darkness of spiritual ignorance. ||1|| pause||
ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝੀ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮੀਤ ॥
janam maran gur raakhay meet.
O’ my friend, the Guru ended the cycles of birth and death of those,
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਮੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
har kay naam si-o laagee pareet.
who developed love for God’s Name.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਿਆ।
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਕਲੇਸ ॥
kot janam kay ga-ay kalays.
All the afflictions and sufferings of their millions of births got wiped out,
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਹੋਸ ॥੨॥
jo tis bhaavai so bhal hos. ||2||
(and now they deem that) whatever pleases God is the best for them. ||2||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਭਲਾ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
tis gur ka-o ha-o sad bal jaa-ee.
I am forever dedicated to that Guru,
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
jis parsaad har naam Dhi-aa-ee.
by whose grace I lovingly remember God’s Name.
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
aisaa gur paa-ee-ai vadbhaagee.
It is by good fortune that we find such a Guru,
ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੩॥
jis miltay raam liv laagee. ||3|
meeting whom one develops love for God. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
kar kirpaa paarbarahm su-aamee. sagal ghataa kay antarjaamee.
O’ the Supreme Master-God, O’ the knower of the hearts of all, bestow mercy;
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ;
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
aath pahar apunee liv laa-ay. jan naanak parabh kee sarnaa-ay. ||4||5||
Your devotee Nanak has sought Your refuge: O God keep me focused on You at all times,
(ਤੇਰਾ) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਲਗਨ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖ, ॥੪॥੫॥

Raag Prabhati,Fifth Guru:
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਏ ॥
kar kirpaa apunay parabh kee-ay.
Bestowing mercy, whom God has accepted as His own,
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ,
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਨ ਕਉ ਦੀਏ ॥
har kaa naam japan ka-o dee-ay.
(the Guru) blessed them with God’s Name to remember with adoration.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਬਿੰਦ ॥
aath pahar gun gaa-ay gubind.
By singing God’s praises at all the times,
ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ ਕੇ,
ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਉਤਰੀ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
bhai binsay utree sabh chind. ||1||
all one’s fears are destroyed and all his worries are removed. ||1||
ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਉਬਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਿ ॥
ubray satgur charnee laag.
Innumerable persons have been saved from drowning in the vices by following the true Guru’s teachings.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ (ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ) ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮੀਠਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo gur kahai so-ee bhal meethaa man kee mat ti-aag. ||1|| rahaa-o.
When one renounces the cleverness of the mind, then whatever the Guru says seems good and sweet. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
man tan vasi-aa har parabh so-ee.
In whose mind and body is enshrined that God.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
kal kalays kichh bighan na ho-ee.
no conflicts, sorrows etc cause any obstruction in the path of his spiritual life.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਦੀ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ।
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
sadaa sadaa parabh jee-a kai sang.
He feels that God always abides within his mind,
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਵੱਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ),
ਉਤਰੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
utree mail naam kai rang. ||2||
and the filth of vices is washed off by the love of God’s Name. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਮੈਲ (ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਲਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
charan kamal si-o laago pi-aar.
When one develops love for God’s immaculate Name,
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
binsay kaam kroDh ahaNkaar.
then one’s lust, anger and ego are destroyed.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਨ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥
parabh milan kaa maarag jaanaaN.
One who has understood the path to unite with God,
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ,
ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾਂ ॥੩॥
bhaa-ay bhagat har si-o man maanaaN. ||3||
his mind becomes appeased with God through loving devotional worship. ||3||
ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਗਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਜਣ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥
sun sajan sant meet suhaylay.
Listen O’ my saintly friend and companions, the life of those has become peaceful,
ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ! ਹੇ ਸੰਤ! ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਸੁਣ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ,
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲੇ ॥
naam ratan har agah atolay.
who have realized the priceless Name of the unfathomable and inestimable God.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਅਤੋਲ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
sadaa sadaa parabh gun niDh gaa-ee-ai.
Forever and ever, we should sing praises of God, the treasure of Virtue.
ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੬॥
kaho naanak vadbhaagee paa-ee-ai. ||4||6||
O’ Nanak, say, this gift of singing God’s praises is attained by great good fortune. ||4||6||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਖ,- ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੬॥

ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਸੇਈ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
say Dhanvant say-ee sach saahaa.
They alone are definitely spiritually wealthy,
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ (ਸਮਝੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ),
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ॥੧॥
har kee dargeh naam visaahaa. ||1||
who have established trust in Naam in God’s presence. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਜਮਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੀਤ ॥
har har naam japahu man meet.
O’ my mind, my friend, always remember God’s Name with adoration.
ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pooraa paa-ee-ai vadbhaagee nirmal pooran reet. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Only by good fortune, we meet the perfect Guru who teaches us the immaculate and perfect way of meditation on Naam. ||1||pause||
ਪਰ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ (ਚਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ (ਹੀ) ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ
ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਭੁ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ॥
paa-i-aa laabh vajee vaaDhaa-ee.
Only that person earn the real profit of Naam and feels spiritually elated,
(ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਥੇ ਅਸਲ) ਨਫ਼ਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈ ॥੨॥
sant parsaad har kay gun gaa-ee. ||2||
who sings God’s praises by the Guru’s grace. ||2||
(ਜਿਹੜਾ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
safal janam jeevan parvaan.
Fruitful is the birth and approved is the life of that person in God’s presence,
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੈ, ਜੀਵਨ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
gur parsaadee har rang maan. ||3||
who enjoys the bliss of God’s love through the Guru’s Grace. ||3||
ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
binsay kaam kroDh ahaNkaar.
The lust, anger and egotism vanish from within those who remember God with loving devotion.
ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ) ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੭॥
naanak gurmukh utreh paar. ||4||7||
O’ Nanak, those who lovingly remember God through the Guru’s teachings, swim across the world-ocean of vices. ||4||7||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੭॥

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਲਾ ॥
gur pooraa pooree taa kee kalaa.
O’ my friends, perfect is the Guru and perfect is his (spiritual) power.
ਗੁਰੂ (ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ,
